[Q] Unable to root my Samsung Galaxy Core GT i8262 - Samsung Galaxy Core

Hey everyone -
A bit of help. I've tried rooting my Samsung Galaxy Core using nearly every version of Framaroot, but it does not work. The app loads and when I click Aragorn exploit, I get a message saying "#7 Failed (Or something) . When I tap on Gandalf, the app crashes.
I really want to root this phone as it's quite special to me.
Any kind of help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Android Version right now is 4.1.2

Flash a custom recovery and then flash cf supersu

I am facing the exact same issue with exact same model
I almost tried everything but can't find any solution apart from flashing
I don't want to loose data that's why I avoid flashing
is there any other solution in which data remains safe and rooting can be done just by using an apk file?

I can't root my Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos B5512... Can anybody help me?
yup, tell me wat problem you are facing..
i got the same device
The truth is that I am a newby... I have only read about routing and custom roms. But I can't even start trying to root my device because I can't enter recovery mode... When I press Vol Up + Home + Power Button it takes snapshots of my screen... I have read other forums about our device but I found nothing else...

turn your cell phone off completely and then do that way
That works!
What shall I do next?
Is this (http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-y-pro-duos-gt-b5512-root-65406/) the right way?
It's the easiest I have found...
How can I make a backup of my current version?
And how can I recover to factory conditions?

yes, you should start by rooting the cellphone. (but are you sure what rooting does and why to use it?)
hmm, your link is not what i had use, but if you are okay with it then go ahead.
about backup, find for CWM.zip, its a clockworkmod recovery skin. and you will find instructions in it. then you can backup/restore everything.
i suggest moving your backed up data to computer. then you can use ODIN too if you need...
Can you describe me what way you used, or send me a link?
Is there any way I can go back to factory conditions and how can I unroot my phone again?

[Q] New Member of the Club, now Rooting but not flashing

Hi guys since today im a proud owner of a Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 stock 4.1.2, but now comes the question, is it possible to Root it without flashing anything?
I only need root access to install a few apps, FolderMount, Titanium, Root explorer, etc.
I own too a Galaxy S2 that I rooted by the method of "rooting without flashing unsecure kernel" is it possible to apply the same method to the Note 10.1?
THANKS for any help given.

Welcome to the club. Take a look at all the sections for the tablet and make sure you read the stickies too.
Method #2 and youl be good to go.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831152
I had already read that stickie and if I have correctly read, Method 2 (and the others) involves Odin and flashing something and that is what I dont want.
Isnt there a way to root without flashing?

Let me ask you this, why no flashing? As far as I know it's either Odin or flash. You need to get a custom recovery on it in order to root.
---------- Post added at 05:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:30 PM ----------
Also with the s2 the recovery and kernel are in one. This is not.
Thanks for your help and time spent helping me, but I think I will pass the root on the Note, I thought there was a more easier/safe method like that on the S2.
Thanks

There was an Exynos exploit method but Samsung patched the security hole a few updates ago.
The method in the link that was posted does alter your flash count and that can be correct but you are the owner of the device and if you are not comfortable flashing you tablet I wouldn't.
I have flashed mine and tried a few rom's but I always ended up resetting my flash counter and going back to stock.
Folder mount works great and that was the reason I rooted in the first place but you can store your files on the ext drive and transfer them back and forth manually but I found with my fast wifi I'm better off re-downloading the data along with "Helium - App Sync and Backup" to backup and restore my data and you do not need root, only draw back is that you have to have a computer connection for backup and restore to work.
.
Yes, its just a matter of not feeling confortable, and there is also the risk of blocking the camera. (had a similar issue with 4.1.2 on S2 needed to downgrade to 4.0.4).
But it seeems to me a bit odd that to grant root access we need to flash the rom.
I don't think you read that right. You're not flashing a ROM, just a custom recovery through ODIN, then a root app. It's actually very simple. (Any simpler and I would be concerned about rogue app exploits)
Fyi: I'm also new to Samsung devices and bought my tablet this week. Rooted it this morning by following the stickies, but sticking with the stock ROM for now. I'm more than happy with the tablet so far.

There is no flashing a rom with method 2. You Odin the custom recovery then you have to flash the superuser into the system. You need superuser to get root and Odin is the easiest way.
Trust me we have all been in your shoes about being nervous, I've been doing this a long time and this method is really easy.
You can also use this method - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957002
It does require ODIN but as has been stated this is the norm. You are not replacing any kernels or flashing another rom, you are just adding the root components. Using this method also leaves stock recovery intact...
If you woory about flash counter then run triangleaway after to reset the flash counter and recoveries....
I found doing this, doing a factory reset from settings then reflashing the Stock rom using Mobile ODIN pro gave me a stock standard, but rooted, rom with all statuses "Official" and 0 flash count....
A lot of work I know but then worthwhile things generally require it...
Ok, I followed the Method 2 made everything like on video, after pressing Power+Volume Up, I entered on STOCK Recovery, not the CWM,even so, I apply the .zip and I get:
MANUAL MODE
--Appling Multi-CSC....
Applied the CSC-code:LUX
Successfully applied multi-CSC.
--Install /sdcard....
Finding update package....
Opening update package....
Verifying update package.....
E:FAILED TO VERIFY WHOLE-FILE SIGNATURE
E:FAILED TO VERIFY WHOLE-FILE SIGNATURE
E:signature verification failed
I also retryed and turned off auto-reboot in Odin before starting the process but I get the same thing, now what should I do?
Its not rootable?
Ok, Its finally rooted, What I had to do,
On Odin unthick auto-reboot, When Odin finished doing its thing, dont shutdown the Tablet but press Power+Volume Up and go directly to CWM recovery and there follow the rest of instructions.
Thanks to everybody that took time to help me, thats why I love this forum.
A BIG THANK YOU.

I see that I'm probably too late now to answer the OP.
But maybe others can be interested.
I find that the easiest way to root (without odin and without installing a custom recovery) is Framaroot.
It uses some Exynos exploits, and has been also recently updated by the developer to counteract Samsung's patches.
It may work or it may not work on some devices and with some of the more recent firmware.
In any case giving it a try doesn't cost anything. It's just an app.
If it works the app can also be used to temporarily remove the root.
For me it worked with Firmware N8000XXCLL3 and I know that it works with some more recent fw too.
Furthermore it doesn't change the counter and even the Devices Status remains "Official". Well, actually the devices status may change to "Custom" after few days with the tablet on, but it returns Official after a simple reboot.

[Q] Frustrated looking to Root Samsung GT- I5800 Froyo 2.2

Hi
Ok I know this is an old phone but I hope someone can help .
I've been hunting the forums for an easy way to root my Samsung GT-I5800 running Froyo 2.2.
There's lots of advice on the forums but they are old threads and the links they give to the suggested appllications such as :
Superonclick . z4root , etc don't work or the files are currupt.
I have used Superoneclick on a later samsung phone and it mad the job really easy but the version I have won't work with this phone / android version.
Maybe is some one has a the z4root files they could upload them , or any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Odin does not require root. You have to get into download mode with a combination of keys. (May be Mobile Odin requires root, I never used it).
Check this thread for Custom roms. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1234591. I would suggest PuruKisadHybrid custom ROM.
Refer to this thread for how to use odin. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1372414
You need to install samsung drivers first.
Hi
Thanks for the information and links.
I was hoping to be able to root without wiping data but I will consider this method.
The odin tutorial was a bit hard to understand but I'll try watching carefully and it may become clear.

you can root without wiping data. Just search for rooting procedure in the forum. But custom ROM gives lot more features for you than stock one.

Hi i had this version of superoneclick 1.7.00 but it worked fine. Make sure u have turned on usb debugging and installed the drivers. Also in case of exploit use rageagainstthecage exploit and not psneuter.
And for drivers consider installing these http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/Samsung/Samsung-Galaxy-S-USB-Driver-for-Windows-x86.shtml
I haven't been able to find a non- data wipe method as varioius versions of superoneclick and other tools aren't working for me on this phone.
Perhaps I'll go down the custom rom route ,
If I can find some good clear instructions .

I wonder if it is an issue with the phone rather than the tool .
It has allready been hard reset to factory state ?

Has the driver been installed? Which OS you are using?
You need to install proper driver before trying to root. For your info, essentially all rooting methods are non-data wipe.

WHAT? This device has no separate recovery partition, neither CF-ROOT Kernel. This is not Galaxy S or S3
z4Root should work on 2.1, for 2.2 the easiest way is to use custom kernel, with it you get custom recovery and via that recovery you can flash some zip with su binary and then get Superuser/SuperSU app. SuperOneClick is buggy with G3.

[Q] Samsung galaxy j1 SM-j100FN root

First of all hello ^^ ...
so im trying to root my SM-j100FN im looking for a "confirmation" that the "ROOT FOR J100FN BY HOSAM KASHTO" work without any harm... the thing is that i have searched all around the internet for the root , i found some but whenever i scroll to the comments i see people complaining about bricks and stuck on boot logo or some kind of things... so in few words im looking for somebody who can give me the proper root method for the device (maybe a one-click root method or even using odin or similar technique) i have tried the KINGROOT apk but it doesnt seem to work yet
SO THANKS IN ADVANCE hope i will get some help over here :fingers-crossed:

Try out kingo root. It's harmless and convenient.. only few clicks away... just download the app to your pc then it should give you instructions. If it didnt work.. and suggested you to use odin.. press no. Since you want a no harm chance.
.
.
so yeah. If it didnt work. You have no more option then..
well i didnt really say that i wont ever use odin... in fact i would ! if that spesific img file is not harmless.. then i would take the risk and give it a try
btw i have just tried it out but it failled...

this is the method i was talking about... is it harmless ?
Using odin definitely have a chance of harm. Since I've never had your kind of phone yet, and if you're really gonna try this. Check for what version of your android the root is. And make sure it's the same ver.
There are times that some people mistakenly thought things were same, (4.4.2 let's say, but you didnt know there was Ver07, Ver10)
ohhh i see... i think am gonna give it a shot but first ... knowing that the only file to use with odin is a boot.img ... lets say i have bricked the device can i recover with the original .tar.md5 file from sammobile ? does it contain everything ?

Root Samsung Core 2 SM-G355H
I have a soution for the rooting problem. U have to do it with Kingroot zip file.
Requirements:
1. Galaxy Core 2
2. Custom or Stock Recovery(which they have lol)
3. Kingroot zip file
4. Your Brain (OF COURSE)
Download Kingroot zip file here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3878108&d=1474128527
Method:
1. Place the Kingroot zip file in your external SD card
2. Boot into recovery ( Power Down + Home Button + Power)
3. Select "Apply update from sd card" and choose Kingroot zip file
Wait for flashing and CONGRATS your Core 2 is Rooted

They are certainly Custom builds because Samsung did not officially release updates for Core 2.

Well if you follow the correct procedures, you may be successful the Marshmallow didnt work out for me maybe because I messed up somewhere and im not sure whats gonna happen so TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK bro and i think the root will remain safe, and if not you can always root it because once you'v rooted a phone and lose the root its quite easy to get the root back.

I think I messed up after flashing the Deodexer Rom I accidently WIPED SYSTEM, which was not one of the steps and my phone didnt boot, so i got a stock rom and flashed via Odin which solved the problem.
