Could you kindly upload it please? I will test it. I'm looking for a version with the ability to hide the navigation buttons so am hoping this will be the one
Any one tried this update. Is it lollipop? And which version 5.1 or 5.0.1?
Hello guys!
Its LP 5.0.1
Seems pretty stable so far. Also my concerns about battery life were faulty so far.Seems to been hanging tough. Maybe better than before. I should make one more
cycling charging for better results since i used a lot of battery power, since 100%, in order to do the update-app updates-system configurations etc.
Give me some more days of testing for more results. I was a bit hesitant at first but i totally recommend it the more i use it with the new update.
#bobsie41
Could you tell me where is it downloaded in my device? I downloaded the update through WiFi in my device.
But i might not be able to upload it somewhere though, cause my connection sucks and really dont have much time. I ll give it a try though.
Its running pretty smoothly.

I also got the same update, I am from India. But got the error while updating through OTA method(Through phone update option) as my phone was rooted (OTA update will not work on rooted devices).
So I installed it through LG flash tool.
It's running well, no crash so far. I have to mention that I did face battery drain issue which is normal when you upgrade the firmware and somehow battery stat file is not updated.
Best fix is to do a factory reset from setting and if you can't afford to that than do a battery calibration, but it requires root access. I did it and now I am getting good battery backup.

Does it now have the ability to hide the on screen navigation buttons in this version?.......Settings/Display/Home Touch Buttons
The only thing I've noticed with the update is the screen swipe effect..

Screen lock
Swipe only
Then you can change the effect

I asked some modder friends on LGViet about thing, they said: This function only on Korea version. My device after upgrade to Lollipop V20a (before is KK D83810f - ESA) not have hide navigation buttons. If you need this function, you can use ROM Cook.
Demigod Crash Handler in D838 couple of days after using Lollipop
Hello guys.
After some time with LP 5.0.1 since a couple of days i get the "Demigod Crash Handler" crash in my d838 like the one that is described here http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/76116-demigod-crash-handler-kernel-crash/
I had installed the "Internet Speed Meter Lite" app and after 1 day of use, it crashed for the first time(Monday). That day the crash showed up 2-3 times untill i unistalled the app.
Then i reboot the phone and fully charged it.
So, yesterday (100%->60% battery duration) and today untill around 20% no error showed up, untill now (~20%). I also, if that helps, had either the Wifi or the Data, "ON" at the point that the error showed up. I also used with no problem in kitkat and 2 weeks with LP, the LTE DISCOVERY app. Just to be sure, i just unistalled it too.
I mention the battery duration because, i have noticed that both time that it happened, the battery was low and around 25%... Its not something sure but, the 1st time that occurred battery (Monday) reading was around 25%. Maybe its irrelevant, but i had to point it.
Untill a couple of days with the LP my phone was perfect. I really enjoyed the new ROM, even if i had a couple of random app freezes (never in kitkat) everything else seems to be ok.
Well, anyone is facing this problem? Any solutions? My phone is all stock, d838 32GB.
Thanks for your time in advance.
installed the update a week ago. i live in Indonesia. update using LG PC suite using restore failed update since im rooted and OTA always fail. the update are kinda hit and miss for me. ART is hogging RAM, i seldom have 1,5 gb of RAM like in 4.4.2 10f. plug and pop are gone, lg life log gone, some themes had to be removed first than installed as normal APK (fairybunny for example). battery life is a bit better though IMO.
Is the battery life better because mind runs out quite quick. And does anyone have heating issue? Thanks

I've experienced no issues with the update.

I want to update GB and new baseband but since I heard so many horror stories about bricking the phone through official update, I still do not dare to try. Besides, I live in Europe and if I bricked the phone it's kinda problematic to return in to the States.
Am I last G2X owner on Froyo???
Nope, i am running stock froyo just rooted and modified to my liking withbout any bloat ware or the OTA software. I havent upgraded because my phone runs like a champ the way it is. Just the other day i was playing Metal Gear Solid with FPSE downloading a torrent with aDownloader while connected to wifi and playing Pandora. Granted i have a 3500mah battery which make this possible with out killing the battery.
Lol i just did the update today via OTA no way in hell am i going to touch the lg tool that bricked phone left and right. I new baseband offers a great deal of stability to signal and allows me to get nearly full bars anywhere i go. do the OTA update instead of the lg tool, much safer and a lot easier.

The phone as a whole is a lot quicker now than what it was with froyo imo even when rooted, which right now is the big downside as i can't seem to get this damn thing to root!
Also NVFLASH apparently roots the device now, so no need for superoneclick. I just put CM7 on it!
It's really up to you, but I'd say the ones with horror stories with the official update are in the minority. The entire process is straightforward, painless and lasts about 10mins. Plus the benefits from Gingerbread outweight the cons imho (like the crappier camera) Ofcourse, If you're completely satisfied with your Froyo installation then my best advice is to not try to fix what you precieve as not being broken.

You don't have to root it. Just go to the dev section and flash xboarder's pre-rooted stock since you have nv-flash already.

It would be nice to know what's the rate of the bricked phones vs. successful installation.
i was on froyo before yestarday
i just updated my g2x with lg upate tool, without any problems, but now i can't root it (cause there is no solution still..)
p.s i didn't knew anything about GB update.. made update and got 2.3.3
anyone know how can i root it?
I'm still rockin froyo on Fauxs kernel and ultimate rom lol
As for rooting I thought Superoneclick had GB break on it? If not then you need to do xboarders on top of stock GB to get root. Atleast that's as far as I read on the forums.
Adw launcher ftw

A search button? Never heard of that before...
To be honest, the method is in pretty much every ROM thread in the dev section.
On another note, my update went through perfectly fine. It did stop at 4% and then restart, then got hung up at 5% for a couple minutes, but I left it there and it got going again. If you want to give yourself the greatest chance of success, I would say reverting to stock 2.2 (I uses tgagunman's nandroid), reverting to stock recovery, and removing root before updating probably helps. It may not be necessary, but I haven't heard as many stories of it not working using that process.
I'm rocking stock ROM + debloated + Faux UV kernel with my own profiles.
Running like a champ and great battery life. The best thing? GPS connects instantly

Hopefully this helps others whom had the error pop up for their wifi tethering. It did not fix my issues at all but it seems to resolve the problem for others.
Deleting or renaming /data/misc/wifi solves the problem for some. Sadly mine wasn't fixed by this but I'll keep this updated with what I find to help others.

I started having this issue on my N5 recently. I haven't changed much, other than update the kernel. I'm running Cataclysm with FauxKernel 16u_r2. I went back to the stock kernel with no change, I still get an error (and hotspot has always worked across all kernels I've usually run).
In my case, after the error, I am unable to turn WiFi back on unless I put the phone in Airplane mode and take it back out.
No one seems to have reported this issue on the latest FauxKernel, but I'll ask over there too. Maybe there's something everyone was using that broke this and why CM is now fixed. Would be nice to know what that was.
No no one fixed it till now and no one really knows why it happens. Happens on all custom roms including cm and stock. Something gets messed up during flashing the builds. That's why reports are more on custom ROMs than on stock. On last stock upgrade a lot reported this as well. There is even a ticket open on googles bug tracker for it.

For me it comes and goes on it's own. I won't change apps or the rom and it'll change by itself. The only thing I do flash is my kernel updates. The kernel doesn't affect WiFi though so idk.

AS the name implies this is a stock rooted Android 5.0.1 Lollipop ROM!
The one we have been waiting for!
Features
100% Stock
Rooted
Busybox
No other edits
FSTRIM on install
Powered by SuperSU
Notes:
Should update bootloader. It is attached as a ZIP file but is not flashable! You need to fastboot flash it. For those in windows I have batch file in there along with ADB and fastboot.
First boot is a loooooooooooong time! About 5 to 7 minutes!
You must be on TWRP 2.8.1.0+ for this ROM to Flash properly!
Troubleshooting
If you get no status bar reboot to recovery and clear all cache. If that doesnt work try flashing the factory image then flash TWRP again and then this ROM.
Getting Symlinks failed during install? Make sure /system is unchecked in TWRP mounts
Problems with internal storage? Look at THIS POST for fix by @freakzapster
Root not working right? Flash newer SuperSU by @Chainfire but play store update should be fine!

Normally me too , but I figured since it was only a minor update and I was already running the same stock 5.0.0 ROM I'd give it a try. Eveything seems fine so far. No issues at all yet.
Flashed ROM , works great. Ty scrosler
Edit: Sadly tons of 3rd party apps still haven't been updated for Lollipop even after almost 1 month since it was released. Minion Rush and Dead Trigger 2 still work like I have a 2009 device. It's the app's fault or Lollipop's hardware acceleration or memory management, but I am 80% sure that it's because those apps haven't been updated. They work fine for 2 seconds then another 2-3 seconds they go into slow motion mode and sadly I have to go back to KK until this is fixed
Dirty flashed over stock rooted 5.0.0... No issues... And no noticeable differences between both, so far.
Are there any problems if we use CWM instead of TWRP? I'm not a TWRP kid of guy...
Thanks.
So it looks like YouTube mediaplayer is fixed and (at last!) volume control on animated gifs in Instagram works properly (previously it was changing notifications level not media). Hopefully WiFi connection will be also stable but this needs a longer testing.
TY scrosler.
Ok, flashed one hour ago, maked the wipes and all pretty smooth here.

Please can you confirm if in videcamera menu the option live effects is missed ? the camera quality is ok ?? I had problems when I updated in Taiwan rom , live effects in video recording missed and the quality of the camera was much worst than with kit kat this is because I came back to kit kat, at present I have SEA (Singapore) rom and I would like to update but I have panic because I worry that the same problems remains.

Ok. Thanks, would be appreciated if tomorrow or so you can confirm battery drains or not, also I remember when I updated that the charging time was 1 hour more than the usual 90 min and the bright in automatic was changing without a reason it was with the Taiwan TWN rom maybe as Singapore has been out 3 months later this updae better, I hope so. anyway it would be very goog if after a few days you can post here any improvementes you can see in the phone, thanks again for your help.
Yesterday I have updated my LG G Pro 2 D838 (SEA - Singapore) to Lollipop v5.0.1 V20A firmware. I have tried then to root this firmware using DP Tools but had no luck. My phone goes properly into Download mode but it's always stuck at 0%. I had to remove battery to boot my phone and it's not rooted. I have tried this several times but always get this message:
Any clue to resolve this problem? Thanks!
Night mode also missed in front photo camera menu with lollipop ?
Would you be able to provide aome sort of zipof the whole rom i die die need this rom my network has problems with the custom rom im on and i dont have any trace of my previous stock rom.
OK.
Confirmed that few camera and video modes have been taken out from official lollipop.
Battery drains about 10% faster than KitKat.
Battery charging is about 10% slower too.
However, I can live with those shortcomings. Not an issue for me.

U might want to unroot and or remove custom recovery.
My phone kept booting into custom recovery and could not get pass custom recovery.
I had to use adb to push a custom rom into my phone internal storage and flash the rom before I could restore it to original firmware using KDZ.
After restoring then download the update pack and run it again then no issue.
Good luck

OK.
Confirmed that few camera and video modes have been taken out from official lollipop.
Battery drains about 10% faster than KitKat.
Battery charging is about 10% slower too.

Thanks!

I don't know if we'll ever get that. This release may be the last one for a long time.
I'm having no issues with the latest update.
Original Huawei B211 released shows on EMUI updater
Should we update is it a stable version ????
Thanks all P8 MAX users for input
211 is great. i would update it everytime again.
the only problem i have is the gmail no push notifications in deep sleep bug. (problem is not so bad as i thought)
what is the full version number shown in emui updater?

Have you unrooted your phone before updating? Or didn't you have had root in the first place?

The phone was NOT rooted at all
Rooted phone does not get OTA updates
Originally received it with B026 ROM, OTA updated to B029 and finally last night to B211 Android 6 all functions working perfect
It looks some better battery behavior but it needs some time to be certain .
Recommend the update .

Thanx for the info so far.
What I am curious about is, if I unroot my phone (with SuperSU unroot) and flash back the stock recovery, will I get the OTA update without having to reset my phone? Everything runs just so well right now, would be a lot work to set everything up again.

Yeah no love for Europe
like you get something super important with android6... and if 703l get android 6, 701l probably will too.
The same notification problems with Whatsapp, Telegram, Hangout, ... I´ve changed the energy options, to performance, I´ve protected the aplications, but the problem don´t disappear. And I can´t change the launcher to Google Now Launcher. Just tested google now launcher, not Nova or other. Flashed with a clean b029 rom, and updated with OTA to b211.
Hmm.. no information about any update when checking..
703L premium 64gb version. running the ......B029 atm?
any insight to why it aint taking the OTA.. when checking.. (or is it computer app funded like some, where need to check for updates thrue comp-program) theres no rooting or anything down that alley on my handset..
// got two of these 703L in household, one silver64gb and one 32gb titanium grey.. both on the B029 (EMUI3.1) and none taking notice of any update present..

It should show a red notification from EMUI,
Or on "setup" "update" click check fo updates ......
If your Phone is ROOTED it does not get the OTA .
thx for the reply Marcus.
No it aint rooted or anything other then stocked..
I have an Huawei account connected to take advanatge of the 165gb 2 year cloud that are in everyp8max.
Im in Denmark but our handset is from China 703L.. and just changed to danish text and language.
will try to change the language to english and see if it something down that alley that are messing it up, since its not eating the B211.. but on the other hand it shouldnt be that.. previus OTAupdates this last year up here to the latest B029 went without any hazzle. ((( no it didnt changed anything to change language or region)
when checking and the setting set to autmatic over wifi.. it just says "no update" after that wheel have spin a couple of times..(weird, the previus updates went as expected)
are you updating from an specific app.. or just the obvius in stock android 5.1 setting < phone update where im checking.
would be an shame if need to reset the phone and then try, or trying to find the B211 in correct suit for my phone and manuelly trying to get it to eat it, by local update)
Tried also to see if its was batterylevel or need to be on powercabel ' that where undermining it..but nope.. :-/
Does Huawei startup manager still in at marshmallow.
