MOGA on Lollipop - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone been able to successfully use your MOGA controller (specifically the Power Pro) on Lollipop? After upgrading both my N5 and my Oneplus One to lollipop, my controller pairs, but won't control any games. In the settings for Dead Trigger 2, under game pad, it seems to think I have a keyboard attached and won't let me map any buttons. My ROM is SlimLP on both devices.

I emailed their support and this is their response:
"We're very sorry to hear of the troubles you've experienced with the MOGA Pivot app on the latest Lollipop update. We are currently working with our developers to resolve this issue, and should have a solution soon. We appreciate your patience.
Regards,
Customer Service"
Hopefully that's more than just a form later and means they are aware/admit there's a problem and are going to issue an update to fix it soon.
From my SlimTab Pro 8.4

Bought a moga
Today I bought the moga pro 2.
It syncs in both A&B perfectly.
Then I opened a game.
I died because my controller didn't do anything except show it is synced.
So I tried with other games and all same problem then I researched and found this thread.
I'm assuming we have to wait for a new update or downgrade. ****. Well merry no mobile gaming christmas. Lol first world problems at its finest.

WM as Playstation KB

I was wondering if anyone had managed to use their WM device as a bluetooth keyboard for the Playstation 3?

Awsome find...I will buy it (it's on sale) and give it a try tonight. I was about to buy a thumb keyboard today that connects to the controller but then thought I would wait and see i something for the phone exists. I have a Touch Pro 2 and the physical keyboard will work great for this.
EDIT:
So I went ahead and did the free trial since my phone was not listed as a supported phone on their website and it did not work. The app stays searcing for a device to connect to and never finds the playstation.

[Q] Question about the coby 7015 tablet

I bought one of these for my son for christmas. Dont laugh at it being coby. It is probably the best built product they have ever made. (i know not saying much but still its pretty damn solid). My question is i would like to install snesoid on it so he can play his games. But i would like to be able to use a controller to make it easier to play for him. Would the power A controller work. I know the coby will read a usb keyboard, but dont know if the powera controller acts as a usb keyboard. Any thoughts. I would post a link to the controller but not allowed yet. If you go to power A . c o m its the one under ps3 that has the slide out keyboard. Thanks!!!
Partly answered my own question in the last couple of days. Installed snesoid and it runs very well. Hooked up a keyboard and was able to map the keys, so lack of multitouch is no longer a problem in the games. Can anyone confirm a usb controller working with this or is it only a keyboard. Buying one today but if someone knew that a paticuler brand worked well it would help me thanks!!

Nyko Playpad

If anyone was interested in buying one of these, they seem to work fine. Out of the box, works with a few games (I've tested with Shadowgun and Dead Trigger), but I imagine anything with gamepad support would work. The Playground app doesn't support touch mapping yet, but it's slated to be in an upcoming release.

What?

Nyko pro pad triger buttons

Ok so by now we all know the Nyko pad is garbage. If I didn't have my galaxy s3 still floating around, I wouldn't have been able to downgrade to jb 4.1 in order to use the Nyko app to update the pro pads firmware which in itself is a ridiculous process. So even with the firmware update, the L and R triggers still don't work. I was playing Dead Trigger 2 and before the update the R trigger wouldn't work, now after the update the L trigger doesn't work. I was playing Doom GLES (awesome btw) and the triggers don't work at all. So can anyone offer any insight? Would this be the same with a diffferent controller? Is it just a matter of the apps not supporting controllers with triggers? Is there a better controller option for console mode besides the Nyko? The Nvidia Shield is an incredible device, though I bet we all wish it was a little more plug and play without all these issues. Hopefully Shield 2 will nail it.

I havent had any problems with the shield and controls. Between games supporting the shield and using the gamepad mapper, i havent had any issues. I havent played a plethora of games either.

Are you using the Nyko pro pad in console mode and the triggers work?

No i should have clarified that in my OP. i have a pretty long mini hdmi cable so i just use the shield itself for a controller. If u have a ps3 controller check out six axis, i think its one of the better options when it comes to using a secondary bluetooth controller

Yeah that was actually going to be my next thread, asking opinions about using ps3 controller and sixaxis. I'm going to try that. How long is that HDMI cable you have lol.

I wanna say its 20 feet long but it might be shorter and the one in my gaming room i have a 6 footer. I use my 42 inch tv as a monitor
Quick update. I returned the nyko and just for kicks I tried the Red Samurai Bluetooth controller that Gamestop sells and the triggers work without a hitch!!!!! None of the hiccups that the Nyko had and its only $25 bucks. It doesn't have a home button or the mouse mode that the Nyko has but its truly not that big of a deal to exit out of any app the long way. The right analog stick still functions as a mouse like on the shield itself so console mode is good. Played Dead Trigger 2 no problem.

Game controller Gamepad for Nexus Player

Not sure if anyone else went this route, but I decided to pickup the Gamepad for Nexus Player TV video game controller https://play.google.com/store/devices/details/Gamepad_for_Nexus_Player?id=nexus_player_gamepad&hl=en and can confirm it works very well with android games with controller support on the Nexus 9. Its made by ASUS and seems to be a very nice quality controller. I have yet to try it with any emulators yet though.

Yes, I too picked up an Nexus Player Gamepad. My initial thought was hey, it's Bluetooth so it should work! And it did, now I don't need to fuss around with my PS3 controller Though I'm a little disappointed it cant pair with my Nexus 5.
With ppsspp it works great, all the buttons auto map to the emulator.
Great to hear
I ordered one speclatively, but it's great to know it wil work so well
Cheers

reenrolled the controller with the 9's ID and play!
im thinking of buying the gamepad for nexus player .. is it easy to pair??
Will the Shield Gamepad work too?
So I bought a cheapo and I've managed to break it and it would not hook up to the pc before it died.
So in all I'm looking for more of a full proof package. Shield or Nexus Player gamepad. I'd like it too to work with my pc, this doesnt have to be wireless... Thanks for any replies.
Has nayone tested this with any emulators yet, does it work well?

Thanks! I think I'll give this a go. I do a lot of tech related videos so would be interesting to show this off and have a play with
Has someone managed to make a Xbox One gamepad work on Nexus 9 ? I don't know how to do, it works on my Xperia Z2 with KK but on Lollipop it seems it doesn't.
I have the Nyko Play Pad Pro. I bought it for the Nexus Player, but it works with everything. Last I saw they are like $13 at Gamestop.

I just bought this a few minutes ago. Really looking forward to getting this controller! Looks to be a great investment.
Does this pad work on any android phones or Nexus only?
And can it be used on any games/emus?
Works on emus also?
