Nyko Playpad - TouchPad Accessories

If anyone was interested in buying one of these, they seem to work fine. Out of the box, works with a few games (I've tested with Shadowgun and Dead Trigger), but I imagine anything with gamepad support would work. The Playground app doesn't support touch mapping yet, but it's slated to be in an upcoming release.

Wiimote compatible?

Can anyone test to see if this works on the G2x? I would like to know as I would like to be able to use other controllers besides touch screen.
I would test myself but I don't currently have this phone but thinking on getting it.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/wiimote-controller/com.ccpcreations.android.WiiUseAndroid
Downloading it now.
Emulators + HDMI mirroring is one of the big reasons I got this phone.
Well, we know the O2x doesn't support it. I wouldnt be surprised if the bluetooth stack is similarly boned on the G2x, despite stock android.
Even if the G2x doesnt support it out of the box, there may be hope that cyanogen will support it in the future.

Nope just tested. Says it can't find Bluetooth and to make sure it is enabled... which it is.
First drivers needed to access the SD card, then no WiiMote.... damn...

Thank you for taking the time to test it though sad to hear it doesn't support it.
yeah those two issues are quite disappointing. maybe cyanogen can fix them :S
i'm thinking i will just stick with my n1 for now
I'd like to add the JS1 Zeemote also is not working. I had it working on N1. The Bluetooth connects but when I exit bluetooth settings it disconnects. I'm also using Bluezime so android can detect Bluetooth controller

Doesn't work for me either. This is highly upsetting to say the least. One of the biggest things I wanted to do with this phone was play Super Mario World hacks through HDMI with a wiimote. Oh well, phone is still a keeper easy. Hope it gets fixed.
Hey did anyone ever get a PS3 controller working with the N1?
zeemote works fine for me.
but i also can't connect to a wiimote.
where can u buy the Zeemote for g2x ?
the only one i can find is for the Nokia
so the prices are all over the place
can u tell me where u bought one and what the price was ?
amazon

i got the amazon one.
the nokia version works fine if you have bluez ime
the only thing i think is tied to a specific OS is the included games coupon, but it's expired anyway.

Nevermind fixed my own problem. If anyone has similar problems with Js1 pm me and we'll get it straightened out

Awesome the 10 dollar one
Next question
does anyone know if the Wii remote problem is a hardware or software issue ?
because if it is software (Drivers) now that LG released all the source codes for this device, to should be easy for a developer to fix.
assuming we get any other developers then that CM7 dude to buy this phone
BUT CM7 and zeemote might be enough
it's because several phones(mostly touchwiz/sense phones, and LG phones) use non-standard bluetooth drivers.
replacing those with standard ones would fix it, but it's not as easy as switching a few files.

I can't find a $10 Zeemote on Amazon. How did you find it? I can only find a $10 article about the Zeemote from Tele-Service News. I sure hope you didn't accidentally buy that.
amazon uk has one for that price, but i don't know if they ship to the US(for a reasonable price)
How would you use this for a emulator their is only like 3 buttons on it

Any Wii wireless classic controller work?

I know the Datel Retro Wireless controller works, it's been verified, but i believe from what i see at Amazon and Best Buy, it's sold out or discontinued.
I'd like to get something similar for a trip i'm taking, so my question is will any wireless Wii classic controller work for the Xoom? Or should it?
e.g. Amazon.com: Thrustmaster T-Wireless Gamepad for Nintendo Wii: Video Games

I am still waiting on my Xoom to arrive but on my Evo I use the official classic controller with analog sticks with the wiimote app and it works great. The only downside is that it has to be plugged into the wii remote as it isn't a stand-alone controller. This is why I am looking forward using my Xbox controllers now.
Isaac in Best Buy the other day and saw a wireless gamecube controller in the wii accessories section. Not sure if it would work, but worth checking into. I use the Datel controller, if you Google it you can still find it.
wireless gamecube controller dont work because they arent bluetooth. they have an adaptor that plugs into a gamecube port. Try to find the datel retro wireless, it's the best options. You can get them on datel.com. I bought mine from another xda'er.

That's the one. If you get it I would recommend going over to the "Xoom Accessories" forum and looking up the thread on the Datel controller. They discuss a must have mod for the controller to really work well.
Edit: Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13018984&postcount=28 I did the mod myself, it was easy to do and made a noticable difference.

yay... MS approves a game emulator, prepare to see more game emulator on stores.
Now this is a must have!
Installed this last night and was very pleased. It could use a few more settings (such as being able to adjust filters for the video) but it's a great step forward since it's designed for touchscreen use!

Awesome app. Seems kinda lagggy sometimes. Although I'm not sure that's the best word to describe it. The sound is weird sometimes too...but awesome app nonetheless

Nyko pro pad triger buttons

Ok so by now we all know the Nyko pad is garbage. If I didn't have my galaxy s3 still floating around, I wouldn't have been able to downgrade to jb 4.1 in order to use the Nyko app to update the pro pads firmware which in itself is a ridiculous process. So even with the firmware update, the L and R triggers still don't work. I was playing Dead Trigger 2 and before the update the R trigger wouldn't work, now after the update the L trigger doesn't work. I was playing Doom GLES (awesome btw) and the triggers don't work at all. So can anyone offer any insight? Would this be the same with a diffferent controller? Is it just a matter of the apps not supporting controllers with triggers? Is there a better controller option for console mode besides the Nyko? The Nvidia Shield is an incredible device, though I bet we all wish it was a little more plug and play without all these issues. Hopefully Shield 2 will nail it.

I havent had any problems with the shield and controls. Between games supporting the shield and using the gamepad mapper, i havent had any issues. I havent played a plethora of games either.

No i should have clarified that in my OP. i have a pretty long mini hdmi cable so i just use the shield itself for a controller. If u have a ps3 controller check out six axis, i think its one of the better options when it comes to using a secondary bluetooth controller

I wanna say its 20 feet long but it might be shorter and the one in my gaming room i have a 6 footer. I use my 42 inch tv as a monitor
Quick update. I returned the nyko and just for kicks I tried the Red Samurai Bluetooth controller that Gamestop sells and the triggers work without a hitch!!!!! None of the hiccups that the Nyko had and its only $25 bucks. It doesn't have a home button or the mouse mode that the Nyko has but its truly not that big of a deal to exit out of any app the long way. The right analog stick still functions as a mouse like on the shield itself so console mode is good. Played Dead Trigger 2 no problem.

Game controller Gamepad for Nexus Player

Not sure if anyone else went this route, but I decided to pickup the Gamepad for Nexus Player TV video game controller https://play.google.com/store/devices/details/Gamepad_for_Nexus_Player?id=nexus_player_gamepad&hl=en and can confirm it works very well with android games with controller support on the Nexus 9. Its made by ASUS and seems to be a very nice quality controller. I have yet to try it with any emulators yet though.

Yes, I too picked up an Nexus Player Gamepad. My initial thought was hey, it's Bluetooth so it should work! And it did, now I don't need to fuss around with my PS3 controller Though I'm a little disappointed it cant pair with my Nexus 5.
With ppsspp it works great, all the buttons auto map to the emulator.
Great to hear
I ordered one speclatively, but it's great to know it wil work so well
Cheers

im thinking of buying the gamepad for nexus player .. is it easy to pair??
Will the Shield Gamepad work too?
So I bought a cheapo and I've managed to break it and it would not hook up to the pc before it died.
So in all I'm looking for more of a full proof package. Shield or Nexus Player gamepad. I'd like it too to work with my pc, this doesnt have to be wireless... Thanks for any replies.
Has nayone tested this with any emulators yet, does it work well?

Has someone managed to make a Xbox One gamepad work on Nexus 9 ? I don't know how to do, it works on my Xperia Z2 with KK but on Lollipop it seems it doesn't.
I have the Nyko Play Pad Pro. I bought it for the Nexus Player, but it works with everything. Last I saw they are like $13 at Gamestop.

Does this pad work on any android phones or Nexus only?
And can it be used on any games/emus?
Works on emus also?
