Google Chrome Scrolling Freezes after Lollipop - Galaxy S 4 General

Is it only me or is there a general issue on Chrome while scrolling a mobile webpage after Lollipop?
It happens sometimes not always. It makes me angry
If you want , I can record a video and post.

It used to happen to my lollipop as well. Here is what I did:
- Disabled S Voice from Settings -> More -> Application manager -> All
- Installed Greenify and added all RAM eating heavy applications to hibernation list and added its widget to home screen to regularly hibernate these apps.

I've alredy debloated my ROM and I am using Greenify. There is no RAM problem. Also I tried deleting Chrome and Phone Cache, didn't work.
It happens on Chrome Stable 41.0.2272.96 and Beta 42.0.2311.61

Alright, I only see this behavior when many apps are opened and the memory usage is high. With few apps in the background, my Chrome works fine (I've just tried it with Yahoo.com).

Uninstalled Facebook, my SGR transformed!

Hello, I read this forum daily but not participate very often.
Two days ago I uninstalled facebook because with the latest update its camera process would always stay open in the background, no matter what I did.
Since then my Galaxy R transformed, it is like I got a new phone, there is no UI lag, all aplications' effects work perfectly and fast, apps open instantly etc.
I was really surprised by the difference so I thought to share it with you.
That's Facebook for you , stays in the background so you can receive notifications from them .
You can also try force app close with Settings > Development > Stop app via long-press . Tick that and you can now close any app just by holding the Back button .
The iPad 2. Revolutionary. (jk)
No I don't care if you're anti-Apple.
I had completely turned off notifications and synchronization for the facebook app. Most task managers showed it as closed, yet I could see from time to time that it used system resources through BetterBatteryStats.
The thing is that it didn't just use memory, it made any non OpenGL animation on my phone slow.
Opening the drawer of GoLauncher? Slow as hell. Opening the weather of beautiful widgets? Slow as hell. Browsing photos through QuickPic gallery? Slow as hell compared to the stock gallery.
In the stock camera app, whenever I pressed a setting, the transparent menu with the available options would take 3 or more seconds to appear.
Since I uninstalled the Facebook app all these lags are completely gone.
I haven't seen a difference in battery though. It is just like facebook was keeping a hardware resource for itself, not letting other apps use it.
PS. The setting about closing apps with long press isn't available on the stock ROM. I think only CM has it.

Ics update bugs

I have recently updated my GT-p6200 to ICS(Hate it) and found lots of bugs.
1. Message Icon in the home screen is showing 1 unread message without any unread one (The Menu Message icon is Normal) , when i restart all backs to normal. Please hit a solution for me.
2. I had Chrome like New tab feature with fav sites widgets in my old gingerbread browser and this ICS browser is normal, Any thing can be done for this?
3. It hangs a lot when many apps are opened simultaneously even when Ram is free.
4. Everytime I come back to Homescreen after closing any app it take time to come to normal ,it seems like it refreshes everytime. Please give some solution at-least for the first question as it is the most irritating one.
5.Do someone have detail explanation for developer option s in settings.
Please reply with solutions.
Thanks
1. You might have killed the process using some task manager. Not sure. If you're gonna use Nova at number 4, try Tesla Unread Plugin.
2. Download Chrome Browser
3. You may have an app or some apps that causes lag. In my experience, playing some huge games while doing other stuffs(e.g. Browser, Slices, and etc.) did not lag at all. Investigate as to which app is causing the intensive usage of your CPU.
4. Change the stock Launcher to either Apex or Nova. There are others too like Go Launcher HD for Pad and etc. I personally recommend Apex or Nova. Make sure to make it as default and keep in memory for less withdraws. Also you might be using the built-in task manager to kill all apps at once, this apparently also kills the stock launcher if you are not on the homescreen or app drawer. Same goes even for other launchers. Avoid using that without being on the homescreen.
5. Google that.
Hi
Could someone also check if the front camera is downgraded to 0.3 megapixel?
Mine says 640x480 after official ics update, philippines
Tnx

ART compatibility

Well, first things first. I am aware of the link to check individual compability (http://www.androidruntime.com/list) and ran into some doubts. Since my last thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2683780), the only way I found to keep my device from freezing was going back to Dalvik. I checked every single app I have on the ART list to maybe find out what's the cause - if I switch back from Dalvik to ART right now, I experience those sudden freezes again. I've made a list of everything I got installed right now, was thinking of maybe a feedback of what could be the problem.

I must say that amongst these I did not have Kingsoft Office, Lightning Browser, Pushbullet, IMDb, Notes Reborn and Whatsapp+ installed ever since my last switch. They shouldn't be the problem but I still listed them above. Let's just say I lost about ~1h of screentime not running ART and would love to switch back without issues. I am aware of the recomendation of getting a logcat of when the device freezes but I am not versed on these shenanigans.
TL;DR: Need help to eliminate possible causes for freezing while running ART.
Thanks in advance.

Yeah I thought about that once but it's weird to troubleshoot for this one reason: it started happening out of no where a few weeks ago. I don't remember at all what I installed from then to now, or what could be the issue. I am trying at all costs not to factory reset it again.

maybe some app which is not too compaitable with ART is causing the random freezes..just a guess..i'd be concerned with apps which keep running in the background & troubleshoot them

The freezes happened while doing basic stuff, such as pressing the back button on the navbar for no reason on the homescreen, setting the phone to vibrate, checking the battery stats. Y'know?

stop spps in background

Is there any way to prevent an individual app from a running in the background on oxygenos
I ask because I recently used a Nokia + plus and it had this feture to toggle individual apps to prevent them running in the background.
I use use some apps only occasionally and I don't like the thought of them running in the background using up my resources.I know you can force stop them but that's not as user friendly. Theres inactive apps in developer options too but this needs to be checked often.

The problem is everytime i clear the memory the phone kills the app completely. Ex- the app "messenger" or "whats app" , if i clear them from memory (clear ram on multitask window) i no longer recieve notifications.I have to always leave them opened on the backround.I also tried removing them from battery optimization and it didnt work.

Just lock the app on recent apps windows (a little lock sign on upper right corner with x sign). every time you cleaning apps don't swipe that app you don't want kill.

Man, I am living with this problem for more than half a year. I did find a somewhat tolerable solution - it is not exactly elegant but it might prove helpful. So yes, after playing with every possible parameter in settings , I also came to the conclusion that nothing really helps except keeping these apps minimized in the background. So I decided to just find a way to hide these minimized apps from the "recent apps" so that these don't interfere with my other activity.
Finally, I managed to find one humble app which does exactly that (you won't be able to find it by the name in Google Play, hence I provide the link).
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=comapede.app.versteckeapp
The instructions might not be exactly clear - you have to install the app then access the widgets from your home screen, identify the Hide App widget and drag it on the home screen. At this point you will be presented with the list of all apps on your device and you would need to chose the app you want to hide. After doing so, a widget for this specific app would be created (which looks identically to the app icon but works differently). First, make sure you discard the respective app from the recent apps, then, to enable hiding, every time you launch the app, you need to do it from the created widget (not from the icon). Obviously, you can repeat the action for all other apps you need to hide.
This worked reliably with Nova Launcher on Android 7 (EMUI 5.0) and continues to work after updating to Android 8 (EMUI 8.0). I also have Chinese ROM (not rooted).
As for the reason why this happens - I have no clue. I don't exclude that it is a software bug that is quite rare on honor 8 devices (otherwise I would see more people complaining).
There is an interesting aspect though - while I have been using my FB messenger for a while like this (this was the only way it worked), now I am able to access the app from its native icon and discard it from the recent apps and it still receives messages instantaneously (same about Skype, Viber). (I don't remember if this is related to the update). Yet for other apps, like KinScreen, Light Flow, ACR (Automatic Call Recorder) and many others, if I run the apps from their icons, the moment I discard them from recent apps, they are shut down completely.
Hopefully this works out for your

Thank you.Ill try the app or keep them locked on multitask. The most important reason i asked is because i applied for a job and they had sent me an email for an interview.I missed it cuz i hadnt opened gmail.I couldnt care less for games or any other entertaining apps but when it comes to work or more serious stuff then it becomes a problem. Thanks again.

Yes, this can be really frustrating. For me it has been a series of missed Skype calls, which I happened to discover even after more than a week.
