Chinese Android Phones can you flash?

i want new phone unlocked because my g1 is slow but i was curious if there was a way to know if the chinese android phone is flashable and using which rom? and which is a good phone to buy ...
bumpppppp/
It hasn't even been 3 hours, there's no need for a bump. Also I don't think those cheap knockoffs can be flashed but it's possible. First you have to root it though which is probably possible with one of the "one-click root" apps. Actually flashing one is a bit more involved because of hardware differences. Next time just get the real phone instead of a knockoff, save yourself some headache and heartache at not being able to do everything you want.
i actually have a g1 thank you very much handsome
Well then take out the "next time"s from my previous post and I stick by it. Knockoffs generally aren't that great. Getting the real version from a store is better, even craigslist or ebay.
I rooted my galaxy note replica with bin4ry it worked perfectly as for flashing i have flashed a few things but to flash a rom it would be harder because i have found out i would have to port the custom rom to work with my device.

What did I miss? Why the assumption that the OP is talking about a "cheap knock-off". Maybe he means a Huawei, or ZTE or something.
Rooting android from China

It will depend on the device you have. You should search xda for your device name, but if it is a cloned device, you may not be able to find anything, because some clones are not well supported.

HTC One S updates

So recently i bought an HTC One S with an S3 processor which its country is of Asia. I am currently at europe. I still am on Android 4.0.3 and there doesnt seem to be an update for my phone. Now i know that 4.0.4 and also JB are rolling out, but not for my device. Is there anything I can do to solve this ?
Thanks
I live in a country where HTC sell the S3 processor only. I had my cousin sent me HOS from US, big difference.
You might want to trade for an S4 though.
In the meantime you can search the development forum and look for an S3 ROM.
Not many but there are some.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app

HOS stands for Htc One S and a Rom is basically an operating system for your device that is nothing like stock, has tweaks here and there things that stock doesnt, and if you root you will.still be able to receive updates but you have to relock the phone and some other things I can't remember then you can apply the update, basically you can't apply update to a rooted phone its just gonna give you and installation error then reboot your phone I think but that's basically it for your questions, hopefully it was helpful to you

Thanks for the information !
A friend told me that if i root the phone i can change my firmware from Asia to Europe where i live so that i can recieve updates accordingly to my phone. Is this true ?
Also is there a detailed noob instructions for me to follow and learn more about rooting the phone and installing customs ROMS etc. ?
Thanks

If you root, you can manually install all sorts of fun stuff. I think if you want to remain as close to stock and receive "official" updates, super cid is something you might wanna read about. There's a thread in the Dev Section by Torxx that I used to root my S4 you might wanna look over and see if that's for you. Make sure everything you decide to do is compatible with your S3 first though.
Edit: there's also another guide in the general section

[Q] HTC e8 (m8st) - region change help

Hey
I have just bought a HTC e8 or m8st or m8 ace.... it seems to go by many names. It was bought in china so it has the usual chinese apps and restriction to google play and apps.
I have previously changed ROM region on a z1mini so have an idea of what i want to do but it seems to be a bit more complicated with the htc.
I have tried to install the google services from the chinese app store but can't find them (GSM or something). I have been looking into rooting or just simply installing a UK or EU version of the ROM but it isn't very clear. the major issue i am coming across is that there is almost no information on this handset. What i can find is for the dual sim (i have single sim)version or changing it to an indian region.
I have also found on the HTCdev resources that this handset is known as the m8 ace. I have looked into the xda forms for the standard m8. It helped a lot about what to do in terms of rooting and the general processes but still not any clearer on compatibility issues. could i just flash the EU version of this ROM, would i have to change the CID, could i use a superCID (11111111)?
so my question is if someone has any information on how to go about this it would be greatly appreciated.
Can the handset be treated as a m8sw, single or dual sim?
Will i need to change the CID etc?
I should also mention that getting the OTA updates are not an issue for me, i could take them or leave them.
Thanks

Thanks, i've seen the tread but still a bit confused. I will post the questions relating to it on the thread.
finished
Just updating so if anyone is looking into this then they know i have managed to change the handset into a non chinese phone; full google play services and apps.
I used the link form the previous post with a few others....
I had to use a combination of the 2 methods to get it to work.

i had to look about for the procedures for some things but if you google it or look on the xda threads for the m8 you should find everything you need.
good luck

Flash international firmware on Korean SM-F700N possible?

Hey guys,
I have just purchased a Z flip from a 3rd party seller and the phone is the Korean SM-F700N variant. Everything works fine but there are a lot of Korean bloat.
I don't mind it as much as everything in the phone is still usable and most things can be deleted.
But I was wondering if it was possible to flash the international firmware on this?
Sorry I'm new here and I don't know if I'm posting in the correct section. If not, please let me know.
Thanks!

About stock roms

Hi, I recently updated from Android 11 to 12 and I want to go back (reasons). I have a Moto G31 bought in the Philippines.
My question is mainly about stock roms if I were to flash the firmware:
- Would I be able to get it to be identical to when I bought the phone? i.e all the same few preinstalled Moto apps and it would still go through all the normal Moto updates again?
- Would the warranty (according to the device itself) be intact? also, in other words, would the phone itself know it was different from when I first bought it?
- Would a stock rom from say Brazil be different to the one I should have on my Phillippines model (assuming they both have the exact same version number RRWB31.Q3-46-85)?
Thank you in advance for any replies
You are not the only one wanting to go back. I have found the correct ROM for me (eu) but not the correct instructions. The Lenovo forum has several pages in the thread for Android 12 problems on the G31 and people are pretty upset. There is another thread here too asking for help on rolling back the ROM, and I hope someone here on XDA who is knowledgeable can help.
