Privacy Guard - How i can reset all to Default Value ? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

On this latest 3 or 4 days i thinks all member have a OPO whit latest CM11s have the problems whit "Google Play Services" 7.0.97and his battery drain
According to Official Italian section thread i have set to "Block" the "Keep Awake" and "Awake" of "Google Play Service" in stock Privacy Guard.
For my mistake i have accidentally activate the "Privacy Guard" for all my APP (still don't understand how I did) and now i have check and value it's been setted to "Always Ask" and not only for "Google Play Service" but for all my app i have installed
I then turned off all the shields and left only one activated of "Google Play Service" (for workaroud of Battery Drain instead) but in all other value what's this the default value ??
It's all setted on "Allowed" ?? It's "Always Ask" the Default value ?
I have also tryed to tap on "Reset button" but never has ben changed............ there someone can suggest to me how i can reset all value for all apps ?
P.S.
Sorry if my English it's not very well........ i have also use Google Translator for try to explain all my problems........... come back later for read some suggestion...... Thanks in advance.

Usually the apps you have given permissions to while installing are "allowed" to access that particular thing. You don't need to reset any values because turning on the shield only stops those apps from accessing the permissions. But if you want it turned off, just deselect for all apps, and turn off "Enabled by Default". So most apps are set on "Allowed", whereas some are usually set to "Always Ask", so it shouldn't be a problem and I hope this is what you're asking for, sorry if I have misunderstood.
Cheers

Yes...... your answer it's very clearly and completely exhaustive
But i have tryed to change some value in some apps with the "little shield" deselected and it's strange but the rules however seem to be respected whit or whitout the "little shield" turned on and this very strange situation:
For example i have tryed to set some rules to "Denied" and whitout the "shield" activated in some value i can watch the numbers of denied rules increase seconds after seconds as if the rule was still active.....
I don't know if i can explain this situation............. for a better i need to explain, and i thinks i can explain better in my case , if i can explain this using my italian language (lol.... also i'm living on a small cities... if i can use my italian dialect of my region it's a much better ahaahahhaha)
Thanks anyway for you response........

Ahh yes, I understand what you mean. Selecting the shield will only turn on privacy guard for that app and stop it from accessing your messages, contacts or call logs.
But the long press details, that is, the allowed and denied you speak about are respected even if you have the shield unactivated, because of which you see deny counter increasing. So these are irrespective of whether the shield is turned on or not for that app.

mmmmmmmm... interesting info boys...... at this point the little shield it's not completely useless right ?? For example :
For resolve the Battery Drain of Google Services at this point i don't need to turn on the little shield right ? But i need only to Long Press for details and block "Awake" and "Keep Awake" ?
If i need to block the access for "SMS", Contacts and Calls (incoming/outcoming i thinks) i also need to activate the little shield at right of app name ??
It's all correct ?

Yup, that's how it's been working so far haha, no need to activate shield for stopping play services from killing your battery.
And yes to the second question too

hi guillame
sorry for bothering you
but ı need to ask you
can you add bln(notification) feature into omni please?
ı know this is required kernel support but what about this app :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958939
also ı want customizable keyboard so much ı dont know this request was posted on before
ı mean this http://imgim.com/3401inciv6957156.jpg
ım waiting your answers thanx and with my best regards :good:
I know this sounds REALLY petty.. I'm so impressed with Omni its untrue. On my s3 its faultless.. the ONLY thing I can criticise (for purely poke holes feedback - come on - its awesome!) is when using Swiftkey (or alt keyboard) when the phone auto locks whilst in a text or Hangouts etc and it being on charge (USB) ActiveDisplay constantly displays 'Choose input method' along with 'USB debugging connected'. 'Choose input method' keeps it awake and every few seconds refreshes the notice on screen and doesn't disappear. Can ' Choose Input Method' and 'USB Debugging' be added to the Low Priority notification list like Google Now?
I know this is like saying you don't like the wheel nut covers on your new Bentley but just feeding back!
Loving your work!
EDIT: typo/grammer... had a serious drink and posted rather than lurked - also very occasionally looses the top menu (icons and ability to swipe down) - not found out why - will investigate circumstances -but a lock/unlock solves it. Really no biggie!! Thank you!
Android Device Manager
When trying to ring the device after locating it in Android Device Manager, it rings ONCE as Active Display kills it rather than the 5mins which will help you find the phone. This should be blacklisted if possible

[Q] No push notification on data screen off

Hello everyone,
I have my Huawei Ascend Mate 7 for two months now and I noticed a strange problem : Push notifications of certain apps not working. Only on data while screen is off. Apps like Whatsapp for exemple. If I turn on the screen on or if I press a button (even just "volume up") the notification arrives. Whatsapp is set as "authorized" in the notifications manager. The app is also checked in "protected apps". I use "Normal" mode as Energy profile. Data is set to "always on" in Network menu.
Gmail seems to work correctly on data. Everything works absolutely fine on Wi-Fi.
It seems like certain push notifications "fall aslepp" immediately after the screen has turned off and arrive if I wake the phone up by simply press a button.
Any ideas on what is going on ? It's a very annoying problem. I had an HTC One M8 before and everything worked fine...
Thanks in advance for your help. I precise that I am french, I do my best in English !

Can you be specific which apps not coming through ? Check what apps you have and you want to enable..
Do you have apps which will OVERRIDE your phone settings? And you have no idea what those apps enabling and putting in sleep..

The same problem happend for my,
Also the gmail app working good when turn screen off.
no push Notifications for certain app's like WhatsApp, Instgram, and others apps.
what is the best way to contect with Huawei?
Could this be because the apps are set to sleep when the screen is off (I.e. protected apps)?
Thus they fire into action as soon as the screen is on?
Guys check in actual app or in settings / manage apps and check individual app if notifications are ticked/on ..

Thank you for your answer Simona Simmy. Apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or Telegram for exemple. Gmail works fine.
To answer your second question. I tried to factory reset the phone and install those apps in first place to make sure that there are not other apps causing problem.

They are ticked /on.
I made some screenshots attached to this post to show you the different settings I have.
I precise again that all these apps have completely normal behavior on Wifi. The problem only occurs on data. I didn’t have this problem on my HTC One M8, Nexus 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4.
It’s very annoying because Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is an excellent smartphone !
I don’t know what to do…
Thanks for your help.

I knew you have one thing wrong ...
You in your 4th picture u have all apps set to notify .. that is WRONG ....
The notify in this case doesn't mean that they will notify you but it will notify pop up if u want allow app push notifications ..
So change desired apps from notify to allow .. ! that is why you not receiving them ..
Check which apps u want 100% allow and the res you trust less select notify ..
In fact, I tried both. "Notify" and "Allow". Beside, the system asked if I wanted to authorize the app to display messages, so I tried that but nothing has changed. I tried to return to "notify" just to see, that's why it's set like that on my screenshots.
Thank you for your help !

Leave it to allow and restart phone ..
I set Whatsapp as "Allowed" and restarted the phone. I waited a few seconds till the screen turn off. I send a message to myself with another phone & another account. Nothing happens. The screen stays off. I wait a few minutes, I turn on the screen and bam, the message appears ! This is the behavior on data.
On Wi-fi, when I do the exact same thing, the screen wakes up and I receive the message immediately .
So the problem is still here... Very strange...

Okay so I'm back to B120SP04 rom as you can see on the screenshot, the flash has factory reseted my phone. So I download and install Whatsapp for a try, I applied the good settings again as you can also see on the screenshots (Protected app, Authorized). The problem is still here : on data, nothing until I put the screen on. On wifi, the notifications arrive each time immediately.
It's very annoying cause I love this phone but I have a lot of foreign contacts who use WhatsApp and I can't be on Wifi all the time...
Your help and your time are very appreciated though !

I had a similar problem a long time ago on one of my samsung devices. It took me days to solve it, and finally i found one tiny setting was not correct.
I'm using my Note 3 settings and translating from dutch to english so it might be different for you, but nevertheless it could help:
settings> data usage (the one where you can set a limit for mobile data)> menu button > allow data to be synchronized automatically/in background
That's when my push messages started coming in again.
Just hope it helps.

I don't know if the exact same option exist on Huawei phones, but it could be this : "Enable always-on mobile data" in the Mobile Network Settings menu as shown on the attached screenshot...
I tried Push Notification Fixer (non-root version cause my phone is not rooted) and it doesn't solve the issue. But I don't think it could cause it's not about disconnection after some time like the problem that PNF fixes, it occurs as soon as the screen is off.
I'm not quite sure if it is an Android/Huawei issue or a WhatsApp issue. But this strange behavior occurs with at least 3 other apps so I think it's rather a system issue.
It's a bit confusing. Anyway, thank you all for your contribution !
If you can find this settings page in your phone try the 'menu' button to look if there's something similar i described (always synchronize etc...)

Disable Google Improve Location Accuracy dialog

Google is pretty persistent in wanting to improve on my Location accuracy when I turn on the GPS, and doesn't take "never" for an answer to the question to record "anonymous" location data. Annoying, very annoying, NO WANT ?
Is there a way of shutting Google up forever?
+1 also wanna know how this notification can be disabled. is there a service that can be blocked or something?
this is so stupidly, angreringly, frustratingly upsetting. there should be a box that says "disagree forever". they obviously have their own interests in mind because this isn't an oversight. sounds like a conspiracy? then do what I did:
1. agree to high accuracy mode
2. go into setting and change it to "gps" only
3. disable location
4. enable location
5. watch as you're forced back into "high accuracy" mode even though you've taken the steps to manually change to "gps only"
this is fucking stupid and it shows that it's for google's benefit, not mine.
Wifi auto connecting even when on mobile data
sorry for posting here but i have recently had problem with my OPO. I have my home wifi as a network as my remebered network but the problem is that the phone auto on wifi even when i have mobile data turned on. it tries to connect to a open wifi network even when i dont want tp
easily solved by turning wifi off
as an update, i realize now why every time you turn on GPS, this message appears. the reason is that when you first turn on GPS, IT IMMEDIATELY TURNS ITSELF TO "high accuracy" mode! and every time you turn to this mode, it prompts you to agree.
IF THEY JUST MADE IT FUCKING STAY AT THE SETTING YOU SELECT, THIS WOUDLN'T BE A PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT OBVIOUSLY, THEY'RE DOING THIS ON PURPOSE FOR THEIR PURPOSES! IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE FIXED, IT NEEDS TO NOT BE INTENTIONALLY SET THIS WAY!

there's an xposed module that automatically disables the dialog and changes your setting back to GPS only:

I was seeking and suggesting Mohammad to choose both options - yes or no.
Finally found this module but it doesn't work on my phone.
Seems like giving folk choice to choose permanently this option is not desired by someone up there ...
just in case someone will looking for option how to disagree again after you click once on agree
on my Lollipop (HTC one M7) with google play service 9.6.83
to disable improve location accuracy:
Settings > Apps > Google Play services
click on [Manage space]
and then click on [Clear all data]
be aware that it will clear your google play services settings of course...
also it will start to ask you again if you want to help google to collect anonymous data, but it will turn on location in Device Only mode and then you can just ignore that question about disagree / agree and go back to your application / home screen without answering. Or you can use that Xposed module Deny Location Consent to disagree always

Was there a solution to this infuriating "Improve location accuracy?" popup that doesn't require Xposed?
I'm using a custom Oreo ROM on my Moto G4 Plus and started using e-Robot to switch on/off my GPS with screen on/off, but everytime I switch the screen on, I get this annoying popup. I do NOT want WiFi used to "improve location accuracy"! it's GPS or nothing!
I used Magisk on Oreo but can't use Xposed as it causes issues with the custom ROM.

That popup has been added since nougat iirc, it's annoying af but never liked for a way to remove it since I don't use GPS that often.
But anyways now I have xposed on my OnePlus 5t running Android 8.1 so if you had a working module that you know you can try.
xposed for N is official since october....

I've had this problem on my LG v20 driving me nuts for the last month or so ever since it updated to Oreo it is a stock h910 unlocked.
But here's what I just did that appears to be working I went into settings applications and disabled Google Play Store and the services application. I then find Gmail doesn't work Hangouts doesn't work so I reabled the service but I have yet to enable the Play Store and I have yet to have gotten the pop up.
I realized that every time I turn on my phone WiFi - GPS turns on itself too.
Could never avoid it whatever I tried, pls advise?
Whenever I manually turn it off - it turns on again by itself.

Maybe it could be the same here: setting/network&internet/wi-fi/wi-fi preference/turn on wifi automatically (switch it off).
So you could have a look in your wifi settings- should be similar - more or less.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I got probably misunderstood - it is not the WiFi that turns on itself, but it is phone's GPS that does automatically ON when I activate my WiFi.
And there is no such setting for GPS (auto on) in my settings.
So my problem is still pending solution.
It could be an app or a system proccess that relates my GPS with my WiFi, just no idea how to pinpoint the bastardo.

Screen mode set to default after reboot

Hi, after reboot my screen works in default standard mode while I always have it set to different mode. What system app or process s responsible for keep screen on manually set mode? I confess that I turn off some system apps and processes but not one after another but periodically in groups.
I don't wanna see answers like "why did you do that?" because I wanted to on purpose, but serious answers about app or process.

I disabled too many of them to write them all and also turned off some processes. This is why I asked, maybe someone know exactly which process or app is responsible for storing info about screen mode and restore it after reboot?

I have weird issues, regarding whatsapp application. I will frequently disconnected while im idle or not turn on the phone for 5 minutes or more. Seem like EMUI keep killed Whatapp in backgroud. Does anyone have similar problem like me? For information, i already re-install the application twice, set special permission to disallow system to automatically kill the app manually. but the issue keep coming.

2 things under settings u adjust. i solved mine via these 2
1) go App. under App launch. select "manual" and tick all 3 options for Google framework, account manager , huawei mobile services and whatsapp. i did that for google map too
2) again go App, under permission. select special access on the drop down list on top right hand corner. choose battery optimisation. i select whatsapp as well as those apps mentioned as above 1) and choose "not allowed" so that these wont be killed . Just adjusting 1) under App launch does not work. its the battery optimisation that kills the app after a while.
u need to perform these 2 adjustments so that whatsapp will continue to work behind .
this 3rd step is optional. I've also enabled locking whatsapp under the task it so that it won't be close even if i clear all app in the background. click on the square icon at the bottom most of the phone menu, scroll to whatsapp and swipe down to lock it. swiping up kills the app
make sure u enable data for these app.
hope it helps. i did it for my 5G set from china.

Hi im not too sure but it happens on mine. i discovered this… solution via trial and error. it should help if thats the issue. quite easy.
i encounter lagging in receiving wa msg after the phone was inactive for a while. did all i could including search via online. none helps until i toggled that adjustment. don't worry as it should address the prob if its the same issue
