CHeers, finally Viber on Android

Hi All,
I'd like to announce that Viber has finally came out to Android, it is still a Beta version
I tried it and it works just fine on my Xperia X10 using CM6.1.3 v006 Wolfbreak rom.

Yes I'm pretty sure of it, only register on their website to download the apk.
for testing viber you need to do nothing, as when it crashes it asks you to report issue and send the logs with single button click

I think you have to receive mail or sms from Viber to get starting you can get the apk from viber.com/download but you can't use it

* Register for the beta (if you haven't done so already) - viber.com/android.
* Wait for an invite email (could be a few weeks, due to the long waiting list)
* Register your email/phone online
* Get the Viber Android app and install
* Activate with the number you registered.
If you get the APK without following this procedure, you will NOT be able to activate.

Yep,
Contact list on Viber is duplicated from your Android's list, and when new contacts of yours install Viber, you get notified of that (just like iPhone).

When somebody ask me "What is Viber?" I always answer that his the Whatsapp for speaking : )
If everybody, and it could be AWESOME, have Viber + Whatsapp and a big data we can speak and send messages for free !
PS: I have a question for you, Viber team, i have only 500 mb for a months (welcome to switzerland ), i must use Viber on the Wifi no? Have you any idea of how a call for 5 minutes use data?

Viber uses about 0.5MB per minute of call - so you should have 1000 minutes with your 500MB plan (although most cellular providers in most countries offer much larger plans than that).
By the way, Viber also offers Text Messaging, not only calls

Viber call record & messages?

Is there any way to
1. Automatically record viber calls
2. Retrieve viber messages
When I do not have root on that phone?

At this stage there is no way to record Viber calls - at least not through the app itself. If you would like to see this feature in future versions, then we invite you to enter our Feature Request page and post your suggestion there, or join an existing similar suggestion. The more people join on a request, the faster it will become reality

How to transfer viber messages to new phone (android)
I just migrated to a Samsung Notes 3 from Notes 2, is it possible to migrate the viber messages as well, as in Whatsapp the restore function was quite simple can the same be done on Viber.

It is only possible to export Viber's messages via email, but not to import them back onto Viber.
We are considering to add this option in future versions, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Well it seems that both video and photos are saved automatically but not voice massages!
Is that future coming soon?

We are looking into as a future feature, but we currently have no plans in place.

Get WhatsApp Calling Feature in Your Device

Hey Guys, as we know that Whatsapp calling feature is live, though it's in invite only mode and new persons can only be invited by calling other people through Whatsapp.

WhatsApp calling is working fine for me now If you need WhatsApp call then first update your whatsapp to latest version (download from: whatsapp.com) and (hit the thanks button ) then message me on WhatsApp (Just write: XDA Nexus 5 WhatsApp) and I will call you on WhatsApp, pick up the call and your feature will be activated.
My Number is: //Invite not working now. Will update my number once the invite system starts again

How you enabled it? Maybe the contact on your list needs to have it enabled too..

Hi,
I tested it on two smartphones and unfortunately it doesn't work.
On both the call feature was enabled but no contact showing to call

Maybe someone who has it "originally" enabled and can send invites should send others here invites to test the new feature (if someone has an invite for me -> a pn would be greatly appreciated)

I also tried over two device but didn't work
It needs invite.. Please pm if anyone have invite..

the command is working fine for most of the users.. don't have any other solution yet and this is also true that the command will only enable GUI of this feature.

Thanks a lot, it worked for me. I can call my friends now, but for them the UI doesn't get activated. Are the servers closed again?

How to Get WhatsApp Calling Feature Invitation (Invite) Call

Hey guys every on knows that WhatsApp is testing its new voice calling feature all over the world. But you can only access this feature by getting invitation from the user which already have access to this feature
I started this thread just to help all the WhatsApp users who want invite. Just follow below steps:
Make sure to read all the steps clearly and then ask me for invite
First of all download the latest version of WhatsApp from official website! or Google Drive Mirror link!
You need to check this article! in which I have provided all the details where you need to text me your mobile number so that you can get invitation call. Check the steps below:
1. To get and enable WhatsApp voice calling feature on your device you need to download the latest version of the application i.e. v2.11.552 from Whatsapp official website or from Google Drive Mirror.
2. Now you need to get yourself an invitation from the WhatsApp user who already enabled the new calling feature of WhatsApp. For that you just need to email me your number at [email protected] if you really care about privacy.

I think the servers is down

My friend call me many time but still my option didnot activated on galaxy s2 custom stock rom.i xan recieve the call but cannot call him.
