My OPO has 3GB RAM and 64GB Internal storage. What i want to know is what is the size of the ROM storage location where the ROM is installed. Is it part of the internal storage (partition) or a separate storage space ?
Mostly all of the android 4+ devices use the part of internal storage to store the android system and system files, apps etc..
So, From 3GB to about 8GB of your internal memory will be ocuppied by the System...You will get almost 56-60GB of User Storage on a 64GB phone..

You should have anywhere between 54-57 of user memory

My internal storage shows full at 13GB but I can't see what is taking up all the space. How can I figure out what is taking up all the space? NS4G Rooted running ICS
The simplest way to find out what consumes most storage memory is to connect the phone to your workstation and then run tools such as Treesize which lists all directory sizes. Probably there is some folder with video or image material which consumes the space.

the Disk Usage app from the market works great. i recently found and freed over 3gb of wasted space from the android folder. it was app data from apps that i uninstalled long ago but persisted in that folder.

The NAND memory is 16gb, 1gb is used for /data, 488mb is used for /cache and 528mb is used for /system, the rest is your "SD card"

Can someone help? I own a Nexus 5. I rooted it, flashed Android Paranoid on it and use Nova Launcher (for customization purposes).
The thing is, since I've flashed android paranoid ROM on it, i've simply lost 3gb of space!!
I have 4.8 gb of free space and 7.8 gb occupied. BUT when I search the folders in the computer or use any space management apps, despite it will tell me I have 7.8gb occupied, it only shows 4.4gb in files (like music, pictures, apps).
I mean, I DON'T KNOW WHERE THE **** ARE THESE 3 GB! IT SIMPLY DISAPPEARED!! Also, I use nandroid and titanium backups. I thought it was nandroid's backup because it was about 2.8gb big, but the file simply isn't anywhere!!!
I know 3gb doesn't sound much, but it is 25% OF ALL MY NEXUS 5 USABLE MEMORY!!!
tl;dr : I can't find 3gb of occupied memory in my Nexus 5 with any app or computer.
Please, please, please, can someone help me???
Also, some screenshots to make it more clear.

Hi Geeks,
I have a Xolo Q1000 (aka Cherry Omega HD 2.0). It has two internal partitions ( 1 GB internal and 1.9 GB phone storage) . I flashed it with MIUI v5 (4.8.11). Everything works fine ..
The only problem is that MIUI now, identifies the 1.9 GB phone storage in the Setting>storage section but it does't show up in the file manager or it doesn't move apps into that (which I think is the space the stock ROM used to move apps into from the internal storage).
Now this 1.90 GB is just there but useless on my phone. Is there anyway I can extend the internal storage to include this 1.9 GB space or mount the same onto the internal storage.

Hi there
I find for you the right thread where you must to ask this question:

Or open ( but the thread above its enough) a new thread in this forum :

The used space is about 8.08GB and free space is about 4.48GB. But then in this screenshot the size of whole SDCARD folder is just 6.36GB.
So, what's using the extra 1.4 GB and where is it residing?
Extra notes:
1. Recently I had to factory reset my phone and lost everything on it, and after I added back my files from laptop the space reported was correct. No ghost usage.
2. The thumbnails files in DCIM folder got huge and I deleted them to recover nearly 1.5GB, but I'm not sure if that change actually shows up.
Please help with any insight. Also, does your SDCARD folder and storage usage show such differences?
Internal storage isn't just /sdcard. Its shared with /data so /data/app, /data/data is included.

Hi All,
After update from lollipop to marshmallow I noticed huge drop in capacity of my internal memory.
Where should have been 16Gb minus system files I get only 3.8Gb.
Any thought appreciated.
Thank you

Is there any way to have internal memory formatted similar to sd card? Where it is possible to restore original size.
Now after a few apps I get the error with insufficient memory
Thank you

May be you should revert back to lollipop.
Or choose external SD as default storage
