Have an issue with my phone tonight, I flashed the latest CM12.1 nightly, which then reverts the bootloader version back to HHZ12d
I then flashed the latest img fle for the bootloader (which I have done before with no issues, using the same file)
However my phone will no longer boot up. If I try and boot, it goes straight into FASTBOOT Mode. If I select Start, the screen goes blank, but it is lit up and the phone doesn't start (I have left it like this for ages)
If I select Recovery, I get the same.
Restart Bootloader just takes me back to Fastboot.
I have tried ADB, but it won't see my phone in devices, so I can't even factory reset, or flash another recovery (It was running TWRP)
Any ideas? I'm stumped

Try to flash it with fastboot
Search on google for 15 secs adb installer
Download it
Install it
Search on google for google usb driver
Download it
Download stock rom from google's site.
Extract it.
Make a new folder on the root of your C drive.
Name it to: flash
Copy the bootloader.img to C:\flash\ folder
Press Power+volume_down keys until the phone goes to bootloader mode.
Connect usb cable.
Open device manager.
Update the driver for the unknown device using the google usb drivers. (I dont really remember what is the name of the device when you are in bootloader mode and the drivers are not installed but it could be unknown device or Android or Nexus 5)
Open cmd
Type: cd c:\flash
Type: fastboot flash bootloader bootl
then press the tab key to fill the rest of file name then hit enter.

The first sreen indicates that your bootloader fine. As for for the second screen... You probably have old or hacked drivers. If you could flash the bootloader with that then there is no problem with the drivers.
Have you tried flashing the stock rom? Run flash-all.bat. it will wipe everything.

Hi there. Since you cannot flash a custom recovery cause your bootloader is locked and a bootloader unlock will erase the data you want to get, the only option is extract the info from fastboot mode.
You must boot the phone in fastboot mode (power and vol- for 3 seconds), install motorola drivers and download mfastboot tool. In fastboot mode you can use some commands to extract info, here you have the list of commands you can use and here is a tool that can ease the job of writing every command.
Look in the forum FAQs, help about mfasboot and drivers is there.

thanks for ur answer moralesnery
but its seem that i need usb debuggin, otherwise adb dosent find the device.
can allow usb debugg?
i tried in my other phone, and witht usb debugg it work just fine!
it seems that adb only work with the phone in normal status
when someone has bootloop it's constantly restart and the process will not work
fastboot works, but its seems that i cant pull thing with the fastboot menu.
Try this:
1. Boot to bootloader
2. Unlock the bootloader
3. Flash ClockworkModRecovery
4. Boot to recovery
5. Go to mounts and storage (press vol - many times, when that option is highlighted, press power)
6. Now go to mount /sdcard (press vol - many times, when that option is highlighted press popowe
7. Plug the cable from your phone to the computer. So now your PC will detect a device. And you can copy files from your phone to the PC)
Hope that this works for you, sorry for bad english.
Hi,'
I think I disabled google app on my nexus 5 (stock android) and since then my phone is stuck in boot loop. (My phone does not go past logo of marshmallow rolls or message saying starting apps 10 of 10). I have very important data that is not yet backed up and I need them to be recovered.
From various threads, I did following in recovery mode
1. Wipe cache option under recovery menu - as it was mentioned, that it would not delete any user data on my sdcard. (No help, still stuck with boot loop)
2. In recovery mode - there was an option to mount phone memory and I did that. My phone shows a message at the bottom of the screen that it is successfully mounted. But I am not familiar how to proceed further or to recover data from my phone.
My phone is running stock android and I think I have not disabled USB debugging. I am not familiar about ADB, but can follow your guidelines and execute them. When I connect my phone to windows laptop, I see my laptop trying to install the MTP device driver, but fails saying unable to find the driver.
I need to recover my data and Any help is greatly appreciated.
Is your bootloader unlocked? I'm guessing not.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using XDA Free mobile app
If the bootloader is unlocked, you could flash twrp and then mount the data partition from twrp. If the bootloader is not unlocked, you could try pulling the data from the phone using adb commands. Was debugging enabled in the rom?
I have not unlocked my boot loader. Is there a guide to use adb with stock android?
Only if you enabled debugging in developer options.
Today, I installed 15sec ADB installer and booted my device in to recovery mode by pressing power and volume keys.
Then under recovery menu there was an option called - Mount / System. I selected it by pressing power key and from ADB ran adb devices.
No devices was listed, when I ran ADB devices.
But I saw another option in my phone recovery screen - Apply update from ADB.
I got a message in phone - "Now send the pacakge you want to apply to the device with adb sideload filename".
Now, when I execute ADB devices in my PC cmd prompt, I see my device with its serial number.
then I tried to use ADB Pull /sdcard/ to recover files from PC command prompt. But I got a message - saying error closed.
Am I doing the right things? Can you guys guide me to recover files from this point.
My bootloader version is HHZ20h. Product - Hammerhead.
I noticed from below link a user has had luck with sideloading a launcher. Has anyone here tried it ? will it affect my data on phone?
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=64773#c22
Any guide to sideload google search app in recovery mode?
Have you considered side loading the OTA from Google? https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/ota Directions are on the site.
When you get to this point
(But I saw another option in my phone recovery screen - Apply update from ADB.
I got a message in phone - "Now send the package you want to apply to the device with adb sideload filename".), you send the ota zip. (Adb sideload <name of zip> ). You have to make sure the zip file is in the folder with adb files.

I tried to install OTA update and did the reboot. But it did not help.
Can anyone provide me a launcher that I can sideload in recovery mode? Reading from various threads, I think my phone is in this state because I disabled the google app, which is also the launcher.
Thank you

Download the stock image from Google that matches the rom currently installed on the phone, extract system.img, boot phone into fastboot mode, and type fastboot flash system system.img at the command prompt, and reboot.

Boot ur phone in fastboot mode (From power off to vol down + power), then connect it to the pc and install latest_google_drivers for nexus devices, ull need to manually install them, after that ur fastboot will recognize ur device.
From that type fastboot devices, if u see ur device connected u simply need to get into the commands that the other user gave to you, i u are lucky ur device will boot.
if u had unlocked bootloader the thing was easy as installing twrp 3.0.2.0 and backup all ur data via MTP

I suggest you to dirty flash the rom without overwriting /data
So if you flash the zip it's OK but if you flash from fastboot be aware of not flashing userdata_64.img

-Is your bootloader unlocked?
-What recovery do you have?
Available signed flashable ROMs: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/mirrors-for-official-cyanogen-roms-ota-updates.141825/
Find yours or just chose one, and download the signed flashable zip, then copy it to the phone (while in recovery the phone has MTP enabled on the PC) then just flash that ROM from the recovery, this will overwrite system but won't touch data and most likely fix the bootloop.
Before rebooting after flash wipe cache and dalvik just in case.
Next time do a nandroid backup if you have sensible data. I usually don't keep anything important on the phone, everything on google drive.
I don't know my bootloader is locked or unlocked.... when I try to connect phone in recovery and connect USB nothing happen but when I restart phone and set is on onelus logo and attch usb PC recognized as mtp USB device but driver failed....

Which recovery? Stock or twrp? I'm not sure that when you have stock recovery on the phone gets recognized as mtp on the PC.
I can think of adb to push the ROM zip on the PC but if you claim it doesn't get recognized I have no clue. Are you sire you have the google USB drivers installed?

Install fastboot, adb and google USB drivers : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9fZIF6vzIBzT2ZtZkNSVFI5ZHc/view?usp=drivesdk
Reboot the pc
Download twrp: https://dl.twrp.me/bacon/twrp-3.1.0-0-bacon.img.html
Reboot in fastboot mode.
Open a command prompt on the PC inside the folder where the downloaded recovery is.
-Find the folder (maybe user/Downloads)
-while holding shift mouse right click inside the folder
-select "open command prompt here"
Connect your phone and type in cmd
Code:
fastboot devices
If you're lucky and did everything correctly then your phone should appear and you can continue, if not uninstall the drivers you previously had and kingroot and whatever minitool you used and try again.
Now that the device is visible
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp twrp-3.1.0-0-bacon.img
Phone should reboot. Just turn off and boot into recovery and hopefully you'll see twrp.
Now connect the phone to the PC an you should see the mass storage and you'll be able to copy the ROM zip there.
Now just flash the zip of the rom and you're done.
U cannot assure you that it will fix the bootloop but it's your best choice.
In the future:
-Never use kingroot or other ****ty mini tools. CMD and manual flash are always the best choice.
-Do a backup if you are not confident with this kind of stuff.
-Don't keep too much stuff on the phone. Use google drive. And services to save contacts, notes images videos.

This means your bootloader is still locked so you basically can't do anything. To unlock it you would need to factory reset. So your only option is to try installing the ROM via adb on the cyanogen recovery.

Try to push the zip from adb to /sdcard and then flash the zip through the recovery (which technically should do it since it's a stock ROM)
This will result in a "dirty flash" which will not delete data.
This is your only option in the current state of your phone, if you had rooted your phone properly without kingroot you would have booloader unlocked an you would've had more options. If this doesn't work you are forced to factory reset. And use this opportunity to unlock bootloader with
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
Which due to security measurements will delete all the data.
Before you going to flash anything using adb or something, do this.....
1. Turn off your phone completely.....
2. Connect the charger and let it charger for 10 minutes
3. While the charger is still connected, press the power button (turn it on)
4. Wait....
If the phone boot normally while the charger is still connected, unplug the charger and waits....if the phone goes back bootloop after a few minutes and hours without charger connected then your problem is a dying battery not software....buy a new battery and once your replace it, it will solved your problem without having to flash anything via adb or recovery...it also can save all your data....

That depends if you are running oxygen os, you can't flash an OTA of OS that you are currently not running. To dirty flash you have to use the same version or distribution of the OS you are currently running.
My phone doesn't has os i tried to fix things up but it didn't worked. The TWRP was there but now it's opening it also in fastboot mode. I tried to connect it with PC but it didn't worked. Need help, please help.
hello, problem is simple you cleared system in twrp right,
so, just follow step by step and you phone would boot normally.
first download latest firmware for your model.
unzip it.
download and install minimal adb and fastboot from here
secondly.
boot into fastboot mode as you said.
open command prompt in pc. connect your phone using adb cable (cable in the charger)
type fastboot devices
if you see your device (any number displayed like 0328438 )
if you see waiting for device then try another cable or let me know.
after that type fastboot flash file <-------- replace file with .img files in your firmware folder.
if you see any thing like flash locked or any thing try this command fastboot oem unlock
click like if i helped.
