First, download this file: SuperSu 2.4.zip to your memory card.
Then follow this instructions here to install CWM recovery: Install CWM in Galaxy Discover SCH-R740C
Now boot into recovery and select the 'Install Zip', then select an option like 'From SD card'.
Then select the SuperSu zip file which you downloaded and select it by power button.
That's all!
will try it now but before i do so anything i should backup first also the following file is no longer available any chance you have a copy of the file
-- Depreciated -- Odin + R740c CWM Touch Recovery -- Depreciated --

Sureoneclick works for Any GB or Froyo ROM
You can try it out
Hi!
I don't think that Superoneclick works with every GB firmware. Actually, i'm using I9003XWKPK firmware and superoneclick did not work. I tried it several times.
amit.bagarias universal root worked like a charm !
Oh ya?
Because, I am on XXKPQ and used Superoneclick..The older version.
And, If it is so, You can try out the Universal CF-ROOT which is irrespective of your Firmware!
You can find them here-> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351056

Sir what do you mean by irrespective? You mean any firmware will do? One more thing, in the link provided, there are 2 downloadable links. One is "bagara.tar something like that" and the one is "cf-root.apk" What should i use sir? And how do i use those files? I am very sorry for my innocence. I hitted the thanks button.
Try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=841876&d=1325678726
I had used the above DoomLords Toolkit one click root for my GB 2.3.6. it worked fine for me. SuperOneClick wasn't working for me
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351056
in this thread, he says this "Attached you will find the CWM ... just flash with ODIN selecting in the PDA source the CWM file. Also you can find the version to flash from CWM Manager app."
Im kinda confused cause i tried downloading odin, then clicked PDA. then cant see that CWM thing he mentioned. I just noticed that the "bagaria-09.GT-I9003_PDA.tar" is there. So should i do this,
1. Put in download mode.
2. Second Plug my phone. (USB debugging ON)
3. Click PDA then select bagaria-09.GT-I9003_PDA.tar
4. Click Start
5. Clear Cache from Recovery mode.
Done? Am i right?
Please clear me up about those CWM thing cause cant understand. Thanks a lot sir.
Yes you are right !
If you already had the CWM app running on your phone you could have used the second file.
I did it like you describe. I always select "reset" before selecting the PDA file.
Good luck
Thanks. I got confidence now. Maybe root it later. But i need more guidance. Ive read a lot of comments, some says after rooting. Their Wi-fi is not working anymore? So say, this happen to me. How do i unroot if i used the amit bagarias.tar through odin?

I can't root my Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos B5512... Can anybody help me?
yup, tell me wat problem you are facing..
i got the same device
The truth is that I am a newby... I have only read about routing and custom roms. But I can't even start trying to root my device because I can't enter recovery mode... When I press Vol Up + Home + Power Button it takes snapshots of my screen... I have read other forums about our device but I found nothing else...
Sent from my GT-B5512 using xda app-developers app
turn your cell phone off completely and then do that way
That works!
What shall I do next?
Is this (http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-y-pro-duos-gt-b5512-root-65406/) the right way?
It's the easiest I have found...
How can I make a backup of my current version?
And how can I recover to factory conditions?

yes, you should start by rooting the cellphone. (but are you sure what rooting does and why to use it?)
hmm, your link is not what i had use, but if you are okay with it then go ahead.
about backup, find for CWM.zip, its a clockworkmod recovery skin. and you will find instructions in it. then you can backup/restore everything.
i suggest moving your backed up data to computer. then you can use ODIN too if you need...
Can you describe me what way you used, or send me a link?
Is there any way I can go back to factory conditions and how can I unroot my phone again?

Hi, I rooted and unrooted my Samsung GT 5512. I cant enter recovery mode. I used volume up+home button+power but it just wounld not enter recovery mode. Pls help me. I want to root it again
I have tab 2 7.0 GT-3113
After rooting the device I copied wpa_supplicant file to system/bin ,I tried to add ad-hoc support to connect to nokia e72
but while I was doing that I probably damaged some files in system/bin
now wifi is gone....device tries to open wifi but no response !!!
please advice what to do ((
I followed the instructions below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1083182&highlight=ad+hoc
please I need help urgently
i copied wpa file to download file then navigated to system/bin
pasted wpa file ....
after i saw it didnt work i deleted it
in system/bin i opened some files with text editor etc.....
added adb shell(by mistake) then deleted...
is there a way to reload wifi files etc ???
PLEASE HELP!!!!
up !!!
So, I wanted to enable ad hoc wifi networks, and made a small series of blunders in the attempt, ultimately overwriting the original wpa_supplicant file. My GT-P3113 now won't connect to any wifi networks.
Details:
- Wifi only Galaxy Tab 2 7.0
- Model GT-P3113 UECLK7 kernel 3.0.31-523998 SEP 72#1
- Rooted cf auto root and CWM
-Currently operational, excluding wifi, which is "off" and is always "Trying to turn on."
I had attempted to use some instructions to replace the wpa_supplicant file with one that had ah hoc network support, apparently those instructions were for a different Galaxy tablet product, and the provided file didn't work with my device.
Those instructions did make a backup of my original file, but in my haste I ended up overwriting it.
Thanks to anyone who can help!

Just flash it.
You can use triangle away later to reset count, if you need or want to reset it.
There is no point to reset it unless you want to run unrooted stock (and want your tab to be sent updates) or you have a warranty (returning) issue.

Hi
Ok I know this is an old phone but I hope someone can help .
I've been hunting the forums for an easy way to root my Samsung GT-I5800 running Froyo 2.2.
There's lots of advice on the forums but they are old threads and the links they give to the suggested appllications such as :
Superonclick . z4root , etc don't work or the files are currupt.
I have used Superoneclick on a later samsung phone and it mad the job really easy but the version I have won't work with this phone / android version.
Maybe is some one has a the z4root files they could upload them , or any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi
Thanks . I had seen this YouTube video, the links to superoneclick no longer work.
In fact the two links direct form the shortfuse website no longer link to the file.
Well im not sure then. Im pretty sure z4root messes up something, and it may be you need to flash a custom rom in odin. Sorry but I cant try anything myself because I dont have the phone anymore (at least for a while).

Odin does not require root. You have to get into download mode with a combination of keys. (May be Mobile Odin requires root, I never used it).
Check this thread for Custom roms. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1234591. I would suggest PuruKisadHybrid custom ROM.
Refer to this thread for how to use odin. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1372414
You need to install samsung drivers first.
Hi
Thanks for the information and links.
I was hoping to be able to root without wiping data but I will consider this method.
The odin tutorial was a bit hard to understand but I'll try watching carefully and it may become clear.

you can root without wiping data. Just search for rooting procedure in the forum. But custom ROM gives lot more features for you than stock one.
PS: Please hit thanks if anybody helps you.
Use this and try again

Hi
Thanks for your response .
I've tried two versions of Superoneclick v1.7.00 and 2.3.3.0 and neither work for me.
I've just tried another tool x8toolbox , this gives an error ".... root not applicable to custom rom ..."
If you have a link to another version of Superoneclick I'll try that ?
Thanks .

Hi i had this version of superoneclick 1.7.00 but it worked fine. Make sure u have turned on usb debugging and installed the drivers. Also in case of exploit use rageagainstthecage exploit and not psneuter.
And for drivers consider installing these http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/Samsung/Samsung-Galaxy-S-USB-Driver-for-Windows-x86.shtml
I haven't been able to find a non- data wipe method as varioius versions of superoneclick and other tools aren't working for me on this phone.
Perhaps I'll go down the custom rom route ,
If I can find some good clear instructions .
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for the link.
Unfortunately this one isn't working ether
Generating an excetion which ever exploit option is selected.
I wonder if it is an issue with the phone rather than the tool .
It has allready been hard reset to factory state ?

Has the driver been installed? Which OS you are using?
You need to install proper driver before trying to root. For your info, essentially all rooting methods are non-data wipe.
for instructions check this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12451340

WHAT? This device has no separate recovery partition, neither CF-ROOT Kernel. This is not Galaxy S or S3
z4Root should work on 2.1, for 2.2 the easiest way is to use custom kernel, with it you get custom recovery and via that recovery you can flash some zip with su binary and then get Superuser/SuperSU app. SuperOneClick is buggy with G3.
I've used a ch root so....

If you are rooted, then OTA updates will not work for you. Download a full update from Samsung site and flash it via cable from BB.

download samsung kies and update it that way, otherwise if your willing to factory reset, download odin and the update firmware for your device and flash it that way.
