Can someone help me how to increase the ram of my phone, which hangs a lot and is frustrating to use. I finished rooting my phone, but when I was trying to expand ram using roehsoft ram expander, it said the device has a swap incompatible kernel. I need a custom kernel for my phone and how to install kernel on my phone, and if possible, a custom ROM. The main thing is to increase the ram of my device. Kindly provide a solution for this.

Since we all know that Samsung Galaxy Fit S-5670 has very low internal memory and all because of that i'm finding it difficult to install some the bigger apps. As soon as the memory usage reaches 160 MB it starts notifying me about the low memory. Even when all of my apps are in memory card i still get low memory problem.
I was wondering if there is any way by which i can increase the memory even by a small amount. I've already rooted my device and using a custom stock rom. Please suggest any means of increasing the memory.
Thank you in advance.

You can ODEX your ROM. That will reduce the ROM size to almost 7-8 MB and you'll have the remaining memory to install your apps.. Hope this helps! :fingers-crossed:
Edit: You can find the link to the ODEX script in my signature.
I would recommend you to install cronmod int2ext+ script.
Also, try switching from stock to cm7.
I have around 400mb of apps on external memory and 100mb in my data partition.
If you want even more memory you can try other cronmod scripts that mount data on sd-ext
Thank you very much. One more question.

Thank you very much for your help. I've odexed my whole device and freed up quite a lot of space. But i want to ask you question than can i do this on a Cyanogenmod. I'm planning to flash Cyanogenmod :-[DEV][ROM][4.4]Cyanogenmod 11[WIP][ALPHA-5]
I was wondering it it is possible to Odexed this mod or if these mod are already odexed?
How much space will i have if i flash this rom on my fit device. Thanks.

The ROM you mentioned is not ODEXED.. You'll have to ODEX it.. I'm not aware about the memory that will be saved but you can give it a try.. No harm in experimenting :silly:
My suggestion: Stick with your current ROM. CM11 is still under development and I'm not sure whether a stable build has been released till date.
The suggestion by @Harpratap is also very useful. You can try that. My SD card is only 2GB which restricts me to do so.
Hope this helps!
Hi guys,
I have recently purchased a htc pico and due to low money budget i cannot afford buy a new one. So i rooted it and for almost 3 weeks i am trying to install a decent rom for speed and memory increase. I know there are a lot of threads in a lot of forums of how to increase the internal memory but i have tried almost everything i guess... Mount2sd and link2sd won't work so i wish to install the stock rom but with some appropriate scripts to increase the internal memory. I only want to increase the internal memory so i need the scripts to achieve it without using the apks mentioned since i haven't had any positive results so far..
Any help appreciated

In order to use memory script on stock rom you need modified kernel with ext partition support as stock kernel is not supported.
go to this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1754876
at bottom their are modified kernels. flash any of them.

no need to flash another kernel and i think memory increase script is already in cluded. Still you want different script try file attached below.
extract given file and place it in system/etc/init.d/ and set all permissions and reboot.

Hi Guys... I desperately need your help.. So, I downloaded this app called ROEHSOFT RAM EXPANDER, it worked for me but after 2 weeks, it says "you have a buggy root access" or something like that, i don't really remember exactly what it said. And then when I rebooted my phone, it doesn't work anymore, I tried to make a swap file using TE but when I enter the command "swapon" or "busybox swapon" it says "swapon failed" or "invalid argument". Please help me.. How can I enable swap files again in my phone? :crying:
I'm just a newbie when it comes to rooting and these kind of things so please don't get mad at me if I've done anything wrong with my phone..

Uninstall the app. Use SwapFile Check. If it says your phone is compatible, use Ram Expander again. Make sure you have and grant root access for the apps.
BTW
This app costs a lot and promises to speed up your phone, but SWAP ram has a really bad performance. Your phone has 512MB Ram (May be 400MB usable). If you have a fast sd card (class10 +) you can use may be 1/3 of the amount your physical ram as extra swap: 400MB+133MB=533MB for getting a good performance. If you have a slow sd card (class 4) and/or set a high amount of swap e.g. 500MB you will gain absolutely nothing by using ROEHSOFT Ram expander as the swap storage is much slower than the physical ram.
My suggestion:
download and install FDROID --> open FDROID --> install "Performance Control" --> Check out if your kernel supports ZRAM (ram compression). 20-30% should be fine for it.
and
uninstall EVERY app you don't really need.

Of course you can try to use swap, but you should avoid large SWAP values. ZRAM has a higher r/w speed at cost of a little bit cpu performance.

Okay sir.. Thank you so much.. I more question sir if you don't mind. Can I activate swapfile using TE? Because every time I enter the commands "swapon" or "busybox swapon", it says swapon failed or invalid argument. Is it because the swapfile's size is too large?

Why you want to do so? Ram expander enables SWAP on its own. You don't need to manually activate it. Where did you get the information that you need to manually activate it?

I mean I'll make a swap file then activate it using swapon or busybox swapon, I just thought of it as an option if RAM EXPANDER fails again.. But thank you for all the information sir. You helped me a lot. I'll do your instructions once I get home... Thank you again sir
Guy, my phone always turn off by itself while I'm trying to activate the swap file. What should I do?

Hello friends,
I have a question, is it possible to install more RAM in android phone?
My question is about Snapdragon 865 5G (SM8250) and phone with 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM - so the question is, will that work to install 12 GB LPDDR5 from another SM8250 phone?
I am not asking if it is technically possible, I can reball this components, but should I even try?
Moreover, I am going to install 512 GB Nand to this phone, but how can I flash it after swap? It will be clean memory, is it possible to flash this with new ROM?
Thank you
Please, anyone could help?
IMO you can't just swap over the NAND chips only.
The chips need to be reprogrammed using special software then the phone would need to be restored which would result in data loss.
You could get it working by swapping a number of chips from one board to another, but this is really only feasible for people that are very experienced in board-level repair / microsoldering.
