Anyone have success yet with getting Viper Audio to work on the new rooted 5.0 firmware?
I have tried with no success, including changing selinnux to permissive

there is no root for z3 android 5.0.2 itself,
you must rooted your device in android 4.4.4, then did a pre-rooted ftf then flash it with flashtool, there are alots of tutorials for creating pre-rooted ftf here in this z3 forum, google it .
thanks

Yeah so if anyone can give us the exact steps you took to get ViPER4Android FX working on our device, it would be much appreciated.
Running 23.1.A.0.726
Sent from my Sony Xperia Z3 D6603

1. Make backup
2. Make sure you have root
3. Download SELinux mode changer
4. Run it and set SELinux to permissive
5. Install Viper4Audio as usual
6. Reboot
7. Done
Don't forget to untick everything in the Sony Audio FX Settings. F.E. when using "S-Force Front Surround" Viper will not work.

[Q] A good camera app for 5.0.1 GPE? Also sound enhancements?

I need a good camera app that has a fast and nice HDR feature,as its absent from the GPE edition.
Doesn't matter if its paid or free, though i don't really like ads.
On the matter of GPE edition firmware,
is there any way of adding sound enhancements to 5.0.1?
The motorola's sound enhancement is also absent and dolby audio app doesn't work.
You should try Viper4android FX for audio enhancements.
I don't know why, but I can't install to my lollipop viper4android
viper is can't install drivers to my phone
also I can't flash to my phone viper.zip for lollipop phones (I saw nexus 5 forum)
And what about DSP from CM12? There's a way to install it or flash it?

[Lollipop] Viper4android v2.3.3.0

Hi, guys! I found a working version viper4android for Android 5.0.2, i tested on latest version CyanogenMod 12 and works great! Installation by twrp/cwm
My Viper isn't working!!!
"Did you install by flashing the zip??? Is your apk in priv-app??? Do you have any other conflicting sound mods or eq's??? Is Viper enabled and you have installed the drivers and done a reboot???
Some people have luck adding or changing these lines in their build.prop:
##Viper4android
lpa.decode=false
tunnel.decode=false
lpa.use-stagefright=false
lpa.releaselock=false
Also some music players work better by switching to Compatibility Mode. To do that go to menu, click FX Compatible Mode, then click Compatible. Doing this should cause Viper to only modify media players instead of changing sound system wide. Some users say this helps with battery usage as Viper will only process sound when you want it to."
P.S.:
Lolliviper will install the Viper to priv-app and remove Audio FX, DSP Manager, and Music FX.

Did you do something else other than flashing that kernel and then installing viper?
kernel change
Even with SeLinux Mode Changer, the kernel stays on enforcing mode (in my case atleast where im on stock 5.0.1) (EVEN WHEN MODE WAS CHANGED TO PERMISSIVE) Basically what has to be done is install a SeMode editing friendly kernel inbuilt in a particular rom which i cant find and i can't live without viper4android :crying: :crying:
saw some beta's on a few website. Will try and post the results here.
P.s-Update on this version
selinux-Permissive
installed as priv-app
Installed super quality drivers
result : check ss
Running: Stock android kernel (3.4.x)

in the pic it shows that you didnt get to activate viper.
Also, did you get a permissive kernel or did you find a trick to use with stock kernel on tw 5.0.1?

i dont get what you said about this part "im using it with stock tw 5.0.1 since i managed to run viper on 4.4.4 stock."
are you using viper on tw 5.0.1 because you make it work on 4.4.4? that doesnt make sense.
also, how did you make viper works on tw 5.0.1 ? did you use that apk that changes the kernel to permissive?
did you do something else?
i also installed viper on t2 5.0.1 and get able to click on options but they didnt make any difference to the sound.
also, you said you will try with custom kernels...
does that mean, you make it work with stock ones? (the ones in custom tw 5.0.1 roms)
are there any custom kernel for tw 5.0.1?
Sorry for these lots of questions.

I said that ill try to flash on 5.0.1 since i was able to run viper without any errors on android 4.4.4 which was running stock mernel.
2. No i didnt successfully run the mod and system status remains abnormal inspite of me following every step to install viper
3. When i say custom kernel, PrismBarebone Rom in aurora gives you an option to flash 5 different kernels and i will try to run it in one of those kernels to see if this mod works
sorry if i wasnt clear to elaborate what you had asked for.

It doesnt work on i9500 because viper needs to change the kernel's permissions and it cant be done in stock kernels and we dont have custom kernels . it does work on i9505
Got this working after flashing AEL Kernel but still had to disable my music player's EQ settings own control to get it running.
Sounds awesome! Thank you. :good:

Viper4android (2013 moto g)

Hey guys...anyone find a working method for using viper4android in our moto g on lollipop. Tried all method including flashable file for nuxus 5 working method but no luck...pls share the link if anybody find a working method.
Thanks in advance
I'm using Viper4Android successfully on the rooted 5.0.2 Asia soak test (XT1033 dual sim). As far as I recall, I downloaded the Lolliviper version from the Viper4Android general thread (found through an XDA search). I moved it to system (priv-app), which may not be necessary, and changed SElinux to permissive (app on play store), which I think is necessary. And NUPlayer is disabled in settings. The drivers then installed successfully, and it took a little time but Viper drivers showing as processing successfully, and I can hear the sound difference with its settings.

[APP] [ROOT] [ZIP Package] Viper4Android v2.4.0.1 for LG G3

Hi guys, Viper4Android has been updated to v2.4.0.1 and I edited this zip file by adding the new apk and making it easier to install Viper4Android directly to the system.
All Original credits to this thread and The Viper Team.
I have only added in the new apk v. 2.4.0.1.
Instructions:
1. Boot into recovery.
2. Flash the attached zip.
3. Reboot to System.
4. Open Viper4Android, Grant Root access and Install the driver when asked.
(Make sure you have latest BusyBox installed)
5. Reboot once again. ENJOY
I have tested the zip on LG G3 D855. It works flawlessly. Should work with any device and any ROM.

Does it work on stock Marshmallow?
If I remember correctly, original latest version of Viper4Android only supports Lollipop.
KK, LP or MM?
Yes Viper4Android is working on MM. Already using it for almost 24 hours. No problem at all.

No it doesn't. The new version works with kernel set to enforcing as well.
I did as instructed, but the app is just not there. Do I have to uninstall the older one or flash it on top?
I upgraded to mm but I can't see the impulse responses, app says it's empty whereas it's there! Anybody can help me? Thx

I don't know why you can't find the app. Try deleting the previous one using Titanium if it is installed into system or just uninstall it normally. then try re flashing this zip.

On LP you still need a permissive kernel. I'm not sure about MM, although my kernel is indeed set to permissive. I'm on Xceed so that is set to permissive.
Can someone say, what s the best configuration ? I can t find it anywhere.

Anyone got Viper4Android working on AQG5 ?

If yes, How?
Tried with the 2.5.0.5 - Didnt work, due to some new changes in the stock Audio_effects.conf file.
