The battery capacity CAN'T change by flashing a custom rom. May be MIUI doesn't work well with your phone's hardware. You should get your phone back to stock to see if the battery problem persists.
still not solved..

No expert here, but I am pretty sure that your capacity didn't change? Probably just a bug in the system. All i can think of to change battery capacity is the Kernel.

i think so many flashing damage the battery somehow.battery stutus was workin fine.there wasn't huge powerdrain at all.until once my phone did not get flash properly i had to take out the battery then the flash light in my phone flashed.after that batterystutus sucking the battery so fast.i don know, just tellin.i'm no expert tho.
No, you haven't damaged your battery. You probably have a corrupted extended ROM, as has been explained over and over again in (I think) every major ROM thread.
Flash your carrier's latest ROM - that will fix your extended ROM.

does it require rooting???
Do you have a lot of apps and don't wanna lose the settings?
if not or if you don't care about setting them up again why not do a factory data reset and just erase everything and start from scratch?
i would suggest a you make a backup first but you're probably not rooted and even if you do, the backup might not work since it might also back up any wrong settings or something like that (i might be wrong here)
Why not root your phone? you can always unroot and relock the bootloader if you are worried about warranty.
edit: BTW any custom ROM requires you unlock your bootloader and install ClockworkMod recovery. so you would have to do that first in order to flash the AOSP roms.
but what abt the battery issue...
it is the main problem of all...

Have you looked at the battery usage under system settings > battery?
it likely is be a misbehaving app since you say several apps don't work correctly.
this should also go away with a flash of a ROM or doing the factory data reset.
Edit:
My wife has having similar problems after the ICS OTA update. she had a lot of apps and a bunch of widgets on the home screens, the phone was sluggish and some apps didn't work right or were FC'ing. In the end she just did a factory data reset and started from scratch and the phone is stable and feels faster and all apps are working fine now.
i rooted my nexus s ystrday with cwm5.0.2... vl it b enough to save my battery or shall i flash roms..

is it a kernel or a rom...
and i saw the screenshots of this rom- CodenameDroid-(MOD)-1.2.0-NS
is this rom a good one....with faster performance and a good battery
tried ICS stock rom.
No battery problem. similar life compared with 2.3: about 1.5 days
but ICS is running slower than 2.3. Though speed still acceptable, but I want the 2.3 speed
@colocynth
Try the Matr1x Kernel und you will be fine....
Hi cloedu, I tried mv 2.1.28, using matrix kernel, if my memory is correct. Still not speed up, just like stock.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Formatting everything (system , boot , cache , data .....) in CWM recovery , then reinstalling stock ICS ROM made a day and night difference in battery life for me .... From 15 hours avarage to almost 1.5+ days ... Highly recommended...

yes it ia with the matrix rom
Hi everyone,
Since few days, I have an battery icon issue. When my tablet reachs 100% of battery, I unplug it. However, my problem is the battery level doesn't decrease. It stuck on 100% during a lot of hours. After 4 or 5 hours, the level decreases ... So I can't really know how much battery remains.
I'm unlocked, was using CleanRom then I try Cyanogend 10.1 Nightlies.
Maybe a battery calibration can solved my problem but I don't find "wipe Batterystat" on TWRP.
Try to install stock rom.
Thank's, I'll test it, on Android 4.1.
Except if I have not seen it on XDA, Asus 4.2 OTA are not available to flash on recovery yet ?

After installing stock rom 10.4.2.20, problem is still there ... Thus, in TWRP Recovery, the battery indication shows 100% too, so it doesn't look like a rom problem
Wipe batterystat.bin after charging hasn't solved issue
We all know about calibrating the battery after flashing a new rom, but what about for nightlies, or when you're coming from a different version of the same rom? Just wondering if there's a need to go through the drain-charge cycles...
Thanks in advance for any input..

Actually this is a myth: http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...-battery-stats-does-not-improve-battery-life/
I have seen this, but though it only refers to wiping the actually battery stats. Are you saying that even the fully drain and fully charge method is obsolete? Meaning that when I flash a new rom or nightly I just charge it whenever without any calibration?
Is there any way to remove the sudden battery drop from 40% to 14% in no time. This drop occurs in all roms even in Stock rom. I have tried even the latest stock kernel of v4 but to no use. So is there any one to help.
thanks in advance
