Hi my fellow People,
I don't want to misuse the assist here, but since I rooted my Galaxy Express GT-I8730 using a method given here and I'm not that experienced in modifying my phone, I thought you could surely help me.
Specifications: Model: GT-I8730; CM Version: 12-20150119-UNOFFICIAL-expressltexx; Android Version: 5.0.2; Baseband: I8730XWANE1;Build number: cm_expressltexx-userdebug 5.0.2 LRX22G38201f2d78 test-keys
Problem is: I rooted my Express and flashed cwm and cm12. After having solved several problems, I was able to use my phone properly. Until yesterday. I remembered I had only made a Nandroid backup without apps etc., so I decided to do one. Entered cwm and backuped on sdcard (I think it had about 200 mb free). Backup stopped, so I tried doing the backup into the internal storage (rolling eyes). End of Story was that both backups were unfinished and my storage was full. So I did a factory reset, wiped everything I could find on cwm and booted again. Btw: I formatted my SDcard (data is on my PC). It seems okay now, but I can't install any apps (not even things like clean master or storage truth, everything seems too big)(it says: There's no sufficient storage onto your phone (translated)). It ought to be a full 4 gb full of storage since I factory resetted it, but also, my PC says in Windows Explorer that the internal storage is completely full.
To me, it seems like there is a huge amount of data invisible to me somewhere in my internal storage. But I don't know what that could be.
In hope that someone here may help me
Best regards

I have been having a major problem with my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. The internal memory of the phone should be 11.35GB (even though it should be 16, but I know how these stuff actually work), The internal memory keeps being filled with nothing.
As you can see the total space is 11.35 GB and if you count the applications (7GB), pictures & videos (5MB) and miscellaneous/Download files (15MB), they constitute no more than 8GB, which means that there should be no less than 3 GB left as available in the phone's internal memory, but as you can see I have got 479MB available. How did that happen?
I Already tried Format Data but still same thing happen memory keeps decreasing 50-100MB. I have rebooted the system yesterday when the internal memory was completely full, Clean system cache and dalvik. And I have a feeling that by tomorrow I will get the memory completely full without downloading or adding anything on the phone.
Please help me.

hi i am a newbie and after a lot of fails i managed to unlock and root my nexus 5 with wugfresh nrt and flashed xtrasmooth rom .all this took 3 days to succeed and today all day the numerous and heavy apps of my account is downloading on my phone.but now i see the storage is 16gb instead of 32 which is very serious problem as i have a lot of apps.please tell me a way to restore to original storage size without having to wipe any apps and data from my phone (and do all the same all over again would be a nightmare...)
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
AFAIR your issue is fixed now. Please tell me if you need further help.
Info: Stock HTC M8 / Android 6.0 / HTC Sense 7.0
I've been running on a stock M8 for a couple of years now, never really had a reason to tamper with it until recently when my internal storage was maxing out. I boot unlocked and rooted, and now my M8 has factory reset as expected.
I moved everything I wanted to keep onto my SD card prior to the rooting process. I've never once encrypted my device as I didn't like the performance hit on my last one, and I found the pattern unlock function more than sufficient for my needs. That said it appears somehow my SD card has become encrypted anyway, and I have no answer as to how or why. I've never (to the best of my knowledge) installed a third party app that provides encryption functionality, and certainly never authorised anything to encrypt the entire card.
Is there some feature of Android that I'm missing with regards to external storage that would have caused this?

Hello
I created this thread to ask you about a problem i've got with the free space of my new Xiaomi mi4. I bought the 16gb version of it, but when i go to "settings" it says that there is only 1.06 GB full memory and about 500 MB left. That's pretty odd since it shows that the internal memory of the device is 16.00 GB at ''About phone''.

I followed the steps which are written on the link above, but still nothing. I managed to install another Rom and remove the previous one but the same thing happens and as it seems, the old Rom is still installed since i can still see the old files when i connect my device to my PC. Is there something else i can try ?
Thanks in advance !
Case solved !
After doing so many tries and following every guide to make this work, i have finally found a solution ! I did a simple Data Wipe by using TWRP and now there are 12gb of free space in my device.
Any of you still has the same problem like mine ?
You should follow the guide which is written at the thread i mentioned above and then wipe the Data and Internal storage of the MI4. Good luck
Closing this thread as you've found a solution.

Dear fellow Infiniteers,
My name is Hans and I come from Holland.
3 years ago I got my tf700t. It was unlocked and rooted and had a ww_epad-10.6.1.14.8-20130514 bootloader, original TWRP 2.8.7.0 and Cromi-Xenogenesis ODEX 4.7.0 OS and a 16Gb SD-card in the tablet (not dock). The device was so slow that I didn't use it for several months. Ofcoarse the batteries where empty and after charging the tf700t went in a bootloop. On my search on internet I found this great forum, after many hours of reading I managed to flash Android 7.1.2., I lost root but after using Towelroot_V1 I even got root back. Now everything works fantastic. It seems to be an whole other device, Thank you so much developers. I understood it was essential to setup an adb connection, so I did.
I still have to convert my internal memory to F2FS, but need to read more before doing it. This puzzels my a lot. Also I would like a TWRP version that also can handle the dock-SD card, because I want that particular place to keep my backups, flashrom and other flash.zip files.
Now my Questions are:
Should I upgrade my bootloader?
1 For converting internal to F2FS or something else? And
2 Why should I install Kang-TWRP? wich needs 14.10. so I can use the dock sd card for zip's and backups?
Thanks to anyone who reacts.
