Hello guys,
So, a while ago, I bought my moto g xt1032, I bought a used one, it is rooted, and also has TWRP installed as recovery, I wanted to update my phone to Lollipop 5.0.2 and when I tried it would always go into TWRP menu. I really want to get rid of this and update to the newest software!
Can someone help me? I'm really desperate and I don't want to do anything I'm not sure, so I would rather ask here on what to do due to my inexperience.

The first question is since you have root did you modify the system? If you haven't you can unroot and just flash the original recovery but the cleanest way is to backup your data and then flash 4.4.4 all over and then download lollipop and install it normal
You need to replace TWRP with stock recovery and unroot.

You have to be complete stock, no root, stock recovery and kernel.
Unrooting and flashing the stock recovery and kernel will NOT work,
you will need to flash the 4.4.4 firmware first.

I did flash it to stock ROM but still it showed signature verification failed and some root error. BTW I still have cwm not the original recovery !!
well apparently you dont clearly read the guides,you cant install official updates with custom recovery, you need everything original stock and no root. read the guides first before posting

I downloaded stock ROM from here. But I guess it has cwm recovery image not the original.
If u could point me to pure stock ROM moto g Indian Asian version first gen

Of moto g xt1033 I want to remove the custom recovery can anyone tell me that how can I do that I want to update my moto g xt1033 to android l
The only the that is preventing me doing that is the custom recovery so that's why I want to restore stock recovery in my moto g

Get the recovery.img and run "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" from bootloader mode.
Do it at your own risk^^^
everything worked perfectly
I flashed recovery as u advised me then did everything which was suggested in the original thread the only problem was recovery stock recovery is pretty tricky thing to open I had to press volume up for 9 sec for 10th sec the power button at the same time and it worked

Moto G XT1034 4.4.4 to 5.0.2 update problem
I received Lollipop OTA notification for my XT1034 today (Retail Canada) and I downloaded and installed it but the phone got stuck at Motorola logo. I waited for about 45 mins on this screen but got desperate and turned it off (hard reset)
Tried to enter recovery and still it says Bootloader 41.13, tried to wipe cache partition and completed the process but after reboot it gets stuck at logo again, please help!

Thing is, that i want to get my original recovery, so i can recieve the OTA for 5.1. I dowloaded some files from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development/xt1039-moto-g-4g-stock-firmware-kxb21-t2805619 i got the brazilian firmware which is the one that is supossed to work with my phone. But in the files i see a recovery one, so my question is, should i follow the steps on the tutorial or i can flash just the recovery over the TRWP ? Thanks for your responses.

Flashing the complete stock firmware will overwrite your custom recovery with the stock one.
But you can also flash the stock recovery separately afterwards.
I know that Chainfire has stock recovery in his CF-AutoRoot files which will also replace the current recovery with the stock recovery.

hello guys,i just got my brother phone(xt1033) from the shop,just came back from warranty..and my brother say he want single sim.
so the phone was in moto 4.4.4 (1033xt) stock..so i converted to gpe succesfully..so the problem is i cant install cyanogenmod 12.1 on the phone..sometime its stuck on "patching system unconditionally " so i had to revert back to kit kat gpe for a while..help would be appreciated guys..
sorry to mention one thing i just updated the bootloader to 4.1.18..

Did you use the last version of TWRP recovery? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57672469
I use the latest recovery, from the thread, but still the same problem persist , and i couldn't mount system using twrp . .

Hi, I have a moto G XT1033. I have rooted and installed Cynogen. After that I have installed 4.4.4 stock Rom. By mistake I have installed a custom recovery and my phone stuck on bootloader. After that somehow I managed to install 4.4.4 stock rom. Its working fine that day. Next day I got update to 5.0.2 and I downloaded the update file. While installing that fine phone got turned off and not starting. I dont know what to do. Is there any solution to turn on my phone?

That's most probably because you left the custom recovery.
You need to flash again the stock recovery and try again to make the update.

Hello everyone I'm currently using blisspop but since I'm giving the tablet to my son I wanna go back to stock keeping root access I currently have the twrp custom recovery installed. I might sound stupid but could I just download the recovery image from the nvidia site and flashed through twrp? Thanks
