Hello.
I know this has been here posted million times, I just wanna make sure.
I got myself a second hand Nexus 5 yesterday, and today afternoon its vibrations suddenly stopped completely.
The way I know this for sure is
when I put the phone into vibrations only, and someone calls me, nothing happens, just the screen pops up with incoming call, no vibrations.
BUT, when I put the phone to my ear when incoming call, I hear a weird sound. Like it is vibrating, but very silently.
Should I just return the phone OR is there ANY way to fix this?
It's kind of weird as the phone was working 100% the first day, and most likely even before, with the original owner.
Thanks. Feel free to erase this post . Peace.
Press the middle of the Nexus lettering in, there's a clip that's loose

Hey guys,
Just quick question,
My HTC Sensation used turn screen off during call while phone was next to my ear. I don't know what happened, but now during call screen stays on even when I am holding phone next to my ear.
Also what I noticed recently, when I dial someone Phone vibrates once when call connected.
Anyone experienced same issues?
Every time I place a call it connects, but if the screen turns off it will not turn back on. I have to battery pull to end a call or the other person has to hang up. not terrible if all my calls get picked up but if it goes to voicemail there is no way to stop it. I started having this problem about a month ago, did not exist before. I originally was using cleanrom and used power button to end calls to get around this but am now on CM10 and having the same issue. I don't have the power button option this time. I haven't been able to find anyone with a similar problem and I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this one. any ideas?
Disregard this question. I found that it was the type of screen protector I was using. I thought it might have to do with the sensor, as the problem persisted through different ROMs so I cleaned the screen and replaced the protector, still had problems. However, after removing it completely and trying again bare screen, I found that everything worked fine.
After speaking with a person, I hang up. It is clearly disconnected. In a minute or so, sitting on its back untouched, it redials that same person. It has happened twice today. Has this happened with anyone else?

it hasnt happend to me on my n5. but it happens on my n4. where after disconnecting the call. when i press the back button it calls the last caller .
it must be a flaw in the dialer app
I got my nexus 5 just last month and is pretty much in the condition that it came out of the box. Don't even have too many apps downloaded yet.
My problem is that every call I make I have AT LEAST two disconnects because my cheek seems to have pushed the disconnect button. When I look at my screen after the disconnect, the screen is zoomed in and sometimes is even making another outgoing call from my speed dial list. I once had about 8 call drops in one call
I used to have a screen protector which I have pulled off, but the problem still exists during EVERY SINGLE CALL. When I put the phone on a table during a call and hover my finger over the sensor, the screen goes black right away. But when I hold it to my ear I can often see my screen blinking because its changing screens at random. I've tried holding it only on my right during the call, still happens. Only the left side, same result. Am so frustrated.
Spoke with google help several times. Did a factory reset 4 days ago. That fixed my screen freeze problem , but not the sensor problem. Since I'm in warranty, my option is to send it back to google for a replacement REFURBISHED PHONE. I can't even get my money back. Am so mad at their ****ty customer service.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this, since I really don't want to exchange my brand new phone for a refurbished one.

Two options I can think of: Turn the screen off during a phone call, or hold the phone so the proximity sensor is situated where your head/face is. The sensor is pretty far to the right so it can occasionally miss your head thus turning the screen on.
I'm bumping this instead of posting a new thread. I'm having the exact same problem on Mahdi rom \ stock kernel.
This problem makes me crazy! I'm disconnecting so many calls!
Hey, any help??
My Nexus 5 vibrate motor seems to randomly stop. Usually, it stops working for just a few seconds at a time, but sometimes it stops for more than just a few seconds. It started randomly one day, and I haven't been able to tie it to a specific app yet, and it didn't coincide with the installation of a kernel or ROM.
I'm running rooted stock Lollipop with elementalX kernel (2.03).
I've tried pushing on the back, since some people have issues with the vibration motor not making good contact with the rest of the phone, but it seems that doesn't really do anything for me. It seems to help occasionally, but not necessarily.
Sometimes turning the screen off and back on helps, but sometimes not either.
Unfortunately, the inconsistency is making it difficult for me to figure out what the problem is. Could it just be a dying motor?
You can open it up and reseat the vibration motor on its sticky pad if you're not worried about the warranty. Alternatively, some of those with the issue have reported success giving the phone a good smack.

Thanks for the ideas
I did try reseating the motor, and I thought it was going well, but after about a full day or so, I was hit with a non-vibrating motor again Turning the phone off and back on didn't help, but shaking it a bit seemed to do well
I have tried giving the phone a good smack, but it seems like a temporary thing. I'm mostly afraid I might miss a call, message, or vibrate alarm if I run into this problem with the phone in my pocket
And it happens with stock kernel as well, correct? If it has been less than 1 year you could RMA.

I had this problem as well and still encountering it sometimes. Don't worry about a missed call though. My vibration completely stopped working and a reboot didn't help, however a call made the vibration work again lol and it has been working since. Fingers crossed same **** doesn't happen again.
