screen blank but responsive on AUTORADIO DVD/GPS/NAVI/IPOD/ANDROID 4.2 Player FORD MO - General Topics

Welcome everyone,
around half year ago I have purchased AUTORADIO DVD/GPS/NAVI/IPOD/ANDROID 4.2 Player FORD MONDEO I was pretty much happy using this gear, however now it start having some issues with screen.
Basically screen whole unit remains operations except screen what is blank but still responsive. Radio should start when ignition turned on and car is powered. unit however does not display logo screen but instead starting last function running much quicker than before. I have noticed that all function like playing cd/dvd or using radio working well. it does also WiFi dongle and 3g dongle. The best part is that panel is still responsive and you can change stations on radio when pressing place where button should be displayed.

HELP!!! Need Screen Lock and Blanking with TCPMP Core Player

Hi,got a curious need.I watch some video lectures on my PL720 PDA using TCPMP.A lot of them can be listened to without necessarily looking at the screen, which would be ideal when walking, jogging dozing etc. However thats where the problem lies therein. I have tried a number of different screen locks such as MortSaver,ScreenGuard,DeviceLock etc and unless I am missing something, its not working as required. If the video/TCPMP is running and the screen lock is activated, the TCPMP player pauses ie stops playing. Is there any program or hack I can use that would lock the screen, preferably blank it (thereby saving battery power) but let the TCPMP player/audio play in the background? Would appreciate any help on this as it being in my pocket always causes touchscreen activation. Thanx all.
Sorry for bringing this old thread back to life, but strangely even after an extensive search I have not found a solution.
All the locks mentioned turn the GPS off, and I'm using satnav in my pocket when riding a bike. I assume it's the same problem as dabs1 had/has.
OK, this is a piece of precious info for some.
After a few days of thorough searching and trying countless locks, there is one that actually does the thing. It's Deltalock. Strangely. There is an option 'blank screen' or something, it locks the keys as well actually.
The whole point is that, unlike all the other applications I've tried, when you assign Deltalock to a hardware button, when you start it, it does not disturb the application that is currently running. So - for example - it does not close/minimize the Tomtom and does not turn the GPS off.

Screen Standby (HDMI out + Black Screen FTW!)

As I'm sure many of you know, HDMI mirroring on the Infinity works well, but having two screens on while watching a video or playing a game is distracting.
Screen Standby is a new root app that disables the backlight on your tablet or phone while still allowing touchscreen functionality to remain active. That means while your tablet may look off when outputting to HDMI, you can still use it to pause, change apps, and do whatever you want while saving battery life at the same time. To turn your display back on simply shake the device. Unfortunately the proximity sensor function isn't working at the moment, at least on CM10.
I'm surprised it's taken this long for an app such as this to come along, but I can confirm it works on our infinity and on CM10 as well.
You can find it for free at the play store here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nkahoang.screenstandby
and the XDA thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934495
And I would suggest you turn on two-stage screen off as that allows you to switch to whatever app you want to run before you go dark. Hope this helps!
Interesting... I've been wanting something similar to this. Think I'll be trying it out once I get my cable.

Screen turns on when Bluetooth connection starts, edited with possible solution

So I had this same problem when I first got my Z1 Compact, but it went away after a while (I'm not entirely sure how). This creates a problem if I have my phone in my pocket, as it will skip tracks, fast forward and rewind, and waste battery. Is there a way to prevent the screen from waking when the device connects to a Bluetooth device?
EDIT: Found a solution! At least for me, hope it helps others as well. My bluetooth microphone no longer works, so I went into the Bluetooth settings for the stereo and unchecked the box to use the BT for phone audio, and only left media audio checked. This seems to have fixed this issue as well, as my screen no longer turns on automatically when it's connected! I re-checked the box and it turned on like before, so it seems like that's what's causing it to wake.

Have a look at the Smart Connect app, maybe it has an event there that triggers when the bluetooth connects.
Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, there were no such events under any of the Smart Connect options, and I can't even find an option to turn the screen on/off when a device is connected or disconnected.
I've tried setting the screen timeout to 15 seconds (the lowest possible), and I noticed that once the screen turns on after connecting, it never times out or turns off on its own. It was sitting on my car's dash, and I listened to a few songs without it shutting off. I even checked the timeout settings afterwards, and it was still set to 15 seconds.
Any idea what else could be causing this? Maybe Throw? I know I was able to uninstall that on my Z1C using Titanium Backup, but obviously I can't on this one since it's the T-Mobile Z3.
EDIT: So this apparently only happens when connecting to my car stereo. I just tested it with my Bluetooth headphones and the screen stayed asleep the entire time I was connecting and playing music.
I still have no idea what could be causing this, but I'm starting to think it has something to do with my stereo and not my phone. Is there any app or way I can test it? So far, here's what I've tried. Again, on T-Mobile Z3 so no chance of rooting at the moment. Screen still turns on whenever my phone auto-connects to my car stereo's Bluetooth.
1. Disabled Throw using adb shell.
2. Disabled MirrorLink using adb shell.
3. Disabled Smart Connect using adb shell.
4. Auto-connected to Bluetooth headphones and screen stays off as it should.
5. Tried with multiple apps (Shuttle+, Walkman, PowerAmp, even with all music apps uninstalled/disabled).
6. Old phone's screen (Z1 Compact) still stays off when connecting to the car stereo. It's rooted with an unlocked bootloader, maybe something in the Z3's DRM keys is telling it to wake up?
So that's where I'm at right now, not sure where I can go from here. I suppose I'll have to learn to live with it for the time being.

Do you have :Smart backlight control in "Display Settings" on? In my case that was the problem! So when the screen wakes up and i'm on the move, this setting prevents the device from auto lock.
Same issue around here mate. I got a pioneer car stereo and I set the smart connect to play music as son it connects. Every time it connects the screen turns on and I got the connection message on status bar.
Smart backlight control was off, but I tried turning it on just in case. Screen still turns on. I don't even have Smart Connect enabled right now, and I don't get any connection message when it connects. I'm thinking it has something to do with Pioneer specifically, since mine's a Pioneer as well. It also doesn't turn on when it connects to my bluetooth headphones/headset, which should be the same type of connection.
I'll try messing with some settings on my stereo, see if that does anything.
I'll try on my friends Sony stereo later and see if the issue happens.
When I connect the lg g watch the screen remains off.

I have the same isue with my zenec car radio This sucks because I can't keep my phone in my pocket while I'm driving.
It would be interesting to know if this is a general android isue or if it's only a isue from sony smartphones with stock rom. Just to narrow down possible causes...
I also have this issue with my Kenwood deck. I also noticed my volume resets to half too, which is even more annoying than the screen turning on. I have no smart connect events or anything turned on. Odd thing about the volume, it doesn't do it all the time. It just seems to randomly.

It may be a security "feature", so that no-one/nothing can connect to your device without you seeing the screen light up.

I don't think so, because the phone is most of the time in the pocket so it wouldn't make sense to lighten up the screen to inform the user about a "BT event".
But hmm, maybe I'm able to solve it with tasker
BT connect on event -> turn screen off

Lighting up, by itself, would be harmless, even if your phone is usually in your pocket.
I was going to suggest tasker, but I never got anywhere with it (at least, the things I wanted to do, which don't appear to be too extravagent, apparently require either a rooted phone or additional non-free plug-ins).

As other member have already described, the screen keps turned on for a long period of time when a BT device connects. So it's battery waste and it's likely that I execute unwanted actions like calling someone
But thank you anyway... I'll try it with tasker and will share my solution here if I find one..
I have a Pioneer car stereo, but I haven't noticed my screen turning on. I'll test this when I get off work.
I did notice though that sometimes the BT volume goes to 50% as mentioned earlier.
My screen does not turn on when it connects to My pioneer car stereo.

Bumping the topic.. exact same problem. Screen lights up every time I connect via BT to my car Kenwood stereo. Very very irritating. Battery drains out without even my knowing it. Seems like a serious bug.

Phone idle/screen cast problem on Motorola Style

Hi folks, I recently ran into a couple of problems with my new Style. At home I have aeroplane mode on, location off, even the sim card removed, yet phone idle is still using battery. Not a great chunk, maybe 3-4%, but it shouldn't be doing that right?! Mobile data etc is all off.
The second issue is that when casting to my Samsung TV the picture is totally off, it's as if the refresh rate isn't right and there's screen tearing all over. Even on a static image there's movement as the pixels update. The TV info tells me that the phone is casting at 720p 30hz. I would normally just use MHL/Slimport instead but this phone doesn't support it.
I've not run into either of these problems with my Nexus 5 or 10 and I've Googled til my thumbs ache, but I can't find a solution or even mention of these specific problems. Can any of you fine folks here help me out?

Help with Chinese Andriod Headunit

Hello experts, I really hope that you can help me with the follow:
I purchased a Chinese Android head-unit for my USA spec 2012 Lexus is250 and I am having the following (2) two issues:
The unit is Model Number: TZ-LS1020AD and it is running Android 6.0 Marshmellow, all-winner R16 Cortex A7 CPUX4 with 1G Ram and 16G Rom with 10.2" touchscreen
(Oops didn't realize I cannot post an outside link, sorry)
Please keep in mind before you continue reading: on the OEM Lexus Toyota radio the part that has the buttons for power/AM/FM/SAT, CD AUX seek/scan and the OEM Lexus Toyota display (it is not touch screen) for the radio stations are (2) two separate pieces of equipment. The part of the radio that has the buttons are at the bottom of the center console and the Radio display is all the way at the top of the center console and probably only 1" tall. The climate control display and buttons are a part of the radio display. That is why the aftermarket head unit choices are so limited for this particular vehicle.
1) The OEM radio (the button part) is linked to the Android unit for the Radio function. The Android interface is extremely nice and the Android touch screen works really well for all functions and is a really good upgrade for the vehicle. The Android interface does work in concert with the original radio (the button part) and its buttons for volume, seek/scan CD, Aux etc. and steering wheel control buttons to control the radio. It is all integrated very nicely. The issue is the Radio station showing on the Android touch screen is not the actual radio station that is playing through the speakers. Example: the Radio is tuned to 95.5 FM (showing on the Android touch screen) but 87.3 FM is actually playing through the speakers. The other problem with the radio is the scan/seek function only goes up to 97.6 FM then starts over somewhere in the 80.0 FM frequency it does not scan all the way to the 108 FM frequency (both touch screen and original radio scan/seek buttons do this).
2) The climate control in the car only shows Hi or Low it does not show the actual temperature that the unit is set at. All other functions of the climate control work as designed except this function. There are about 22 -23 "steps" (button pushes) between Hi and Low and the actual temperature of the air coming out of the vents does change. The issue is that the unit simply fails to show the actual temps between the Hi setting and the Lo setting.
I don't know if the issue is in the Canbus decoder or the applications. I did see on another forum someone provided a file to fix these same (2) two issues, however the fix was for a similar unit running WinCE, so I am hoping my issues are in the Android applications.
I used ES Explorer to try to find the application for the radio and the climate control but I was unable to find them.
I was able to change the application that the navigation uses and thought it would be just as easy to change the radio application and the climate control application but it was not.
I downloaded another radio application that scans through the entire US FM frequency but I cannot find where I can switch the interface for the radio, so I don't know if that will solve my issue.
I have not found another climate control application so I don’t know if/how that would work.
If I plug my OEM unit back into the car. The OEM Radio display and the Climate Control both function as designed by the manufacturer so I’m assuming the problems that I am experiencing are in the android applications.
I was able to find the passwords for the
extra settings: 123456
developer settings: 7890
I have e-mailed the seller but support appears to be waning. I would like to keep the unit as it is extremely nice but I need these (2) two most used applications to function properly.
Apologies for such a long first post but figured more information was better than less. Any help afforded would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
