Android Tablet freezing at logo! No bootloader... - General Questions and Answers

So, I purchased this 10.1" Google A1 Android 4.4.2 tablet off of eBay on March 2nd and now it freezes up at the Dragon Touch logo for no apparent reason. I've contacted the seller and I am also trying to figure out if there's any way to fix it. When I plug in the USB cable, Windows 8.1 makes a sound but that's it. This tablet doesn't appear to have a bootloader menu. When I hold down Vol - and Power nothing happens. I tried this days before as well and it does not work.
Is there any way around this problem? Like, can I make a bootable SD Card or something? I'm freaking out here!

Hmmmm. You device is in bootloop
Try flashing the stock rom via odin or SP flash tool(based on your SoC, Mtek, Snapdragon etc)
May be this help
Hit thanks if helped

The Tablet Express website says to use Phoenix USB Pro Flash tool but it doesn't work for me. I tried using it on XP and Win 8.1. Just doesn't work. I will try what you suggested. Thanks!

Problem... SP Flash tool requires a Scatter File which isn't in the img I want to flash. Sigh. Does anyone know of any bootable SD Card software that can factory reset this tablet?

Guys, is there a way to factory reset a tablet running 4.4.2 that is stuck on the logo and has no bootloader?

No bootloader would mean the device wouldn't even turn on . You will need the matching firmware and Scatter file to use SP flash tool. Have you checked to show "all devices" in device manager when the phone is connected?

Why don't u try factory reset via recovery....
sent from my GT I9505 5.0.1

i am new but knows this thing very well.... you just need to wipe data and cache .... but one more important thing is that if you are using philz recovery then you need to use the option "clean the device for installing new rom"
so that you can install it easily without any bootloop.......
if its helping you then its awsum......

Mtkdroid tools only works with mediatek devices (with a mediatek chip eg mt6577, mt6589 etc) so will not work with your device
What actually is wrong with your tablet?

Can you get into the recovery menu and do factory reset or anything else??
I guess you've tried resetting via the reset button?
There doesn't appear to be a stock rom available for the GS-918 on the Dopo website, have you contacted them to see if they are able to help?
You could try leaving the tablet on when it freezes until the battery runs right down and it turns off, then put it on charge and try it again, not much else I can think of at the moment

yes i can do everything but it doesn't fix anything :C
and yes, i've tried the ressetting via reset button.
i can swear you there is no dopo GS-918 model drivers or rom in the whole web u.u
I contacted them but they only told me about the recovery menu, and i send them a question but they haven't answered me yet.
((((
now the pc recognizes the tablet via usb, well, it recognized first like vid_1f3a_pid_efe8_driver, then it disappeared and recognized a M3-CHIP driver but with errors (The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver, blabla.)
so i think i need to find the M3-CHIP driver isn't?
EDIT:
I let the battery ran out, and now shows me the box that says: Android is upgrading, Optimizing app 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 of 39, but never pass the 7 now, then i restart the tablet againt, and say: optimizing app 20 of 23, but it freezes, then i restart the tablet... againt, and say: optimizing app 1 of 7, i restart again the tablet, and then it freezes in the first logo forever, the end :C
So, i think one of those last applications is creating the conflict
EDIT 2:
so, now im stuck in the system recovery, i choose reboot system now, and again, i am in System recovery , even if i only press the + volume or -, with the tablet off, it boots automaticly the system recovery :S

I think its banjaxed mate, I think your only hope is if the manufacturer is willing to help you, there are no files available anywhere that I can find, the only thing that might have fixed it is a factory reset, and I guess that is not working from your recovery menu?
Is it out of the question to return it to Dopo?
I suppose you could try running the battery right down again, then leaving it for a while and then restarting again, and keep doing that in the hope that it fires up as its supposed to, but to be honest I have my doubts that it will.
Sorry I cant be of any more help.

The factory reset on these models (DOPO/nobis/apex) only re-initialize the data/cache partitions it will not touch/fix the system partition.
Based on the gist of the initial post -- the only solution is to send the tablet to the factory so that they can reload the firmware.
I am in the same boat right now...
Originally I had some file system errors on the internal nand (on APEX GS-918) that caused the boot animation to loop endlessly -- because I had 'USB Debugging' enabled' I was able to open a adb shell
and run fsck/e2fsck and fix it.
But I have a similar problem now (possibly due to adding an option in build.prop) and also disabled 'USB Debugging' and
I can no longer use adb to open a shell during the boot logo.
PS: I hate to necro a thread -- but people need to know that the issue, described, is by-design........they want you to send it in the factory.
When doing a factory reset, any respectable stock recovery, should restore the system partition.
PPS: I do not believe you can install and update in the stock recovery that attempts to write to the system partition.
I believe that can only be handled by using various amlogic tools (such as amlogic usb burning tool, which requires the firmware image that we don't have)

[Q] Urgent! Stuck at bootloader but cant do anything

Hi u all!
First of all thank you for your time and sorry for my english, I speak spanish.
I have a nexus s i9023. I was using CyanogenMod 11 experimental 24042014.
I was having many problems and decided to downgrade to the stable version 10.1.2
It downloaded ok, installed all the updates, rebooted and then got stuck in the logo screen when booting.
The problem is that my nexus s has a broken the power button, it doesn't work.
As for right now the olny thing I can do is to enter the bootloader screen, but cant move throgh the options with the volume keys, it's like its stuck.
If I plug in the device when in the bootloader (fastboot mode) screen my PC doesn't recognice it, I search in the device manager but it doesn't appear.
If it helps when I plug in the battery the phone starts on in it's on.
Please, any help is appreciated.
Im really sad because I love my nexus.
Thank you!!!
Same here. Any help for us would be great. Thanks.

Seems like a driver issue. Can you try installing the drivers in a different system?
If it goes well, then use install cwm touch recovery from fastboot. You can take backup and flash new ROMs after that.
Try Nexus Root Toolkit to install drivers if you don't have access to a different system.

Don't I need to have android debugging enabled? If so, I don't think Nexus Root Toolkit will work. I flashed a ROM to my NS4g & I get boot loops. I flashed the wrong Gapps a few months ago.
I was hoping there would be a way to automatically turn android debugging on. I know it may sound dumb & also probably impossible.
Any other tips.
Tell me I'm screwed. Haha.

I disabled USB debugging. Rebooted to bootloader. Fired up 'fastboot devices' on cmd and could see my phone. This tells me that I do not need USB debugging on fastboot.
If you see an unknown device in Device Manager while in fastboot then use Universal Naked Driver to install the drivers. But since you don't, you'll need another PC to do this stuff. Once drivers are installed, you can do a 'fastboot reboot recovery' to get into recovery and fix the the problems. The first thing I advice is to flash a touch recovery. The rest is up to you.
Flash back the original soju firmware back onto your device by first using "nexus s root toolkit v.1.8.2 by wugfresh". It may take a little of your time downloading the roms and installing the drivers but trust me it should be working and your phone will boot into stock android 4.1.2. You can then root your device and install custom recovery as normal. Anything do pm me  ps, click the bricked option one the software is loaded up and remember to connect your device only and remove other phones from your computer

Bricked device, any chance of fixing ?

Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
So what happened, my tablet started going very slow after the latest update so i decided to downgrade it. Because i was a bit stupid at that time i installed a software for a different device . After that, my tablet kept on restarting and after it finally went on the desktop, the desktop was re sized and the touchscreen wasn't working. I tried a lot of things to fix it. I went into download mode and i tried installing the correct software but somehow my tablet crashed completely. Now I'm stuck on the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. lease select recovery mode in Kies & try again." I have no access to recovery or download mode and Kies doesn't recognize my device. It says connecting for 5 minutes and then it says connection failed. If i try to switch off the tablet it keeps on switching back on until battery dies with the same message showing up. Can anyone help me fix the tablet and have a full software thats working properly?
It's Emmc bricked and it's very very difficult to fix and I don't know how to do it.
While your tablet is showing the Firmware upgrade screen you should be able to connect it to Odin and flash a stock firmware.
If pc doesn't recognize uninstall Kies and install just drivers for tablet and try again.
Google can help you find and download the stock firmware.

That is scary, happened to me once, hold the power button for 10+ seconds. When the tab turns black, immediately hold the vol down button, hold it at the right time, if it fails try again, took me 5 or 6 times before I entered recovery. I just went to my guts, frankly I do not know what happened. Do you still have warrently? Can you send it to the JTAG service?
Somehow I could not enter download mode when I used any combination, so I relied only on the recovery to fix stuff. I would go to adb.
Perhaps this is a different condition, sorry. I am a flash junkie things work if you have cwm or twrp
Like @PanchoPlanet said already: it's the BSOD ("BlackScreen of Death") - DownloadMode is running in background automatically on that screen, you should be able to use odin to flash a rom.

No I used the TWRP application. Never had an issue with it on my nexus devices. My tab 2 is sitting at tomy1986.nt's house waiting to be jtag'd but he doesnt have the stock image. I bought another tab 2 just like it but when it got to my house the person sold me a tab instead of a tab 2 as the ad said it was. So thus I am stuck.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-2/help/stock-image-please-t3056704
My next option is having the device shipped back and send it to http://www.mobiletechvideos.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-10-1/ and pay $75 for them to fix it. I know the device isnt worth it but its the principal of the matter of me breaking something and not being able to fix it. Thus I am offering $20 to anyone that can get me the files I need.
@ChrisJobe idk the application... Any link?

If it's an app, i am sure uses real block name for flash.
On p51xx recovery sits on /dev/block/mmcblk0p6 - that's your broken block now.
You need to know, what's stored on /dev/block/mmcblk0p6 on your device...
After that you know what's needed (recovery too? Boot? Efs?)
I think you need to send it to a service center - i couldn't find anything for your tab: no recovery, no root... Simply nothing...
No root = no one can backup the block for you.

I wanted to put a new rom on my Lenovo, so I started here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-a850/general/tutorial-install-cwm-twrp-lenovo-a850-t2642431
I thought making a backup would be wise.
My Baseband model did not have ROW or CN in it, so after trying all four options EN/CN CWM/TWRP options, all failed an my phone would just reboot.
May be my mistake was trying a few more versions of CWM/TWRP, after one of which my Baseband model was gone...
So I decided to just go ahead and install a new rom without a backup. I installed the VCOM drivers (Win 8.1, a bit of hassle) and downloaded: http://www.needrom.com/download/a850-stock-s123-multilanguagegappsroot/
Тhе flashing process went OK (I got the green circle), but after disconnecting my phone and putting the battery back in, it would not start at all. Not even recovery mode.
I tried flashing another rom, but the PC/flash tool would not detect the phone again.
Тhe only sign of life is the red led when I connect the USB to the PC (without battery).
Any help would be appreciated.
P.S.: Also the phone stopped detecting my SIM cards while trying different CWM/TWRP versions.
P.P.S.: I actually was able to get a response from the flash tool by holding power, volume + and volume -, and got: ERROR 4032 : Enable DRAM failed!

P.P.S.: I actually was able to get a response from the flash tool by holding power, volume + and volume -, and got: ERROR 4032 : Enable DRAM failed!

After trying many different SP Flash Tool versions and ROM, I was actually able to resurrect my Lenovo by doing a Firmware Upgrade with the latest SP Flash Tool (version 5 something) and using a A850i ROM from needrom.com
No issues so far, but I'm basically back where I started from
i think u have flashed a850 4gb version firmware. same thing happen to my phone. but fixed it with a850i firmware.

Question [BRICKED] Chinese Tablet Facetel A12, Can u Help?

Hi all,
Few days ago, I was trying to root a Facetel A12 Chinese Tablet by different methods.
I unlocked the bootloader, so I flashed the patched_boot.img made by Magisk.
At the moment I rebooted the tablet, it only keeps on the Android Screen.
I can't Boot into recovery or something, and my PC doesn't recognise it.
Can you help? Any one?
Thanks!
The tablet specs are: An spreadtrum SC 9863a, 4GB Ram, Android 10 Go.
EDIT:
I paste a photo of the tablet status.
I cant turn off anyway...
Re-flash Stock ROM.
