Cube i6 Dual OS Android / Windows - 9.7" tablet 2048x1536 px Atom Z3735F 32GB - Android General

I'm waiting on a delviery from DHL today, the Cube i6 dual OS. It's very similar to the dual boot Teclast X98 Air 3G and the Onda v919. However this time it's in black! The others you can only get in white. It's lacking HDMI unlike the X98 Air 3G and only comes in 32GB for now. It also has the slight slower Z3735F 1.8ghz CPU. But I have heard good things about cube's build quality so it will be interesting to see how it compares to the Teclast 98 Air 3G and the Onda V919 Air 3G. I'll update this post with an unboxing video, hands on and first impressions. I ordered this from geekbuying.com instead of Ali Express as my sellers on Ali Express didn't seem to have stock and geekbuying.com has paypal.
First impressions:
The build quality of the Cube i6 is a step up from my Onda v919 or Teclast X98 Air 3G, I love the way the microsd card slot and micro sim card tray is done. It's a nice touch. Overall the tablet feels very solid in hand it feels better than the other retina tablets I've owned. There is no sighs of the tablet flexing, it's very solid. Thickness is around 9mm, so a bit thicker than the X98 Air 3G.
Antutu score is 31k, this is just behind the LG G3 according to the chart. The Android rom is really nice, a very stock looking Android rom with no bloat (Well if you count the facebook app) Windows 8.1 Bing actives withotu any issues and Windows everything is working just fine.
Pros:
Best build quality I have seen yet on a Chinese retina iPad air clone.
Mirco sim slot and not a normal sim slot.
Comes in black
Stock Android rom is bloat free and very Nexus like.
GPS, 3G
WiDi / Miracast works.
Battery life as good as my Teclast X98 Air 3G
Cons:
No HDMI port
MHL doesn't seem to be supported
The screen has a slight grain to it as if it has a matte screen under the touch screen glass.
Overall:
I think if your in the market for a dual boot tablet, the Cube i6 shouldn't be overlooked if you can live with the lack of Hdmi output. The price of $209 with the discount coupon is cheaper than the Onda v919 or Teclast X98 Air 3G dual boots.

Looking forward to this..
I'm still leaning towards the teclast, but the 900Mhz 3g would be much better.....although whether that is worth foregoing the hdmi port. Am I also correct in that the entire body is plastic, unlike the teclast.
I'm also interested as to whether this has faster eMMC than the Teclast.

Cube I6 AIR 3G Dual System Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uILLxnyS8RM

Here is an unboxing video of my Cube i6: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdLe2yWfKSQ
And a video demonstrating how fast it is to switch OS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJeXJ8hJW4k&list=UUrI6_31b1OHRE62BHTMYN0Q
So far so good, the build is better than the Onda v919 and the Teclast X98 Air 3g. Very nice how they have done the microsim and microsd card slots. The Android rom is great very much a stock rom.

There is a softwate switch within the OS that reboots you into the other OS. See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJeXJ8hJW4k

card issues
Hi. I have my cube i6 air for three days now.
During windows update i do always lost my sd card capability. Card is found in windows device manager, but could not start, error 10. I have tried a lot of things I googled. Nothing except full wipe of windows helps (from windows menu not rom changing). Do you have the same issue ? I have kingston 32g class 10. Android sees card without issue
I wonder if there will be some custom roms and updates.
Disk is separated strangely an i think we can double userspace with customized partitioning. Any advices ?
Anyway, tablet is perfect, i do have better experience like with galaxy tab 2.
Windows come fully activated.
Tablet does not support mhl
Automatic turn off of screen does not work in both OS.

My 64GB sandisk mircosdcard works in it without any issues, have you tired doing a full recovery wipe? Does an SD card work find in Android? If its good in android it has to be a software issue in Windows.
I'm happy with my Cube i6, loving the build quality and having a retina tablet in black instead of white. How do you find the display? Next to my X98 Air 3G or Onda v919, the display is a bit grainy, like it has a matte screen protector on it under the glass.

I though 64gb is not supported. According to technical data of manufacturer.
Android have no issue with card, it is visible and fully operational. I know its a software issue of windows itself. I just do not want to do a full wipe/reset every second day.
Regarding display, its gorgeous. I can compare it to my galaxy tab 2 only. And Galaxy tab 2 looses on every point.
I have rooted android with king root. I would like to have custom recovery. However partiotioning is really crazy here.
Do you know about some GURUs which are taking care about custom recovery and other stuff ?
I think a lot of space can be freed by simple repartitionig of tablet.

cube i6 dual boot: Issues on windows 8.1
Hello,
I have acquired a cube i6 dual boot tablet, and I met several problems on Windows OS: WiFi keys are not preserved when the OS is rebooted, Bluetooth equipments are not detected (in fact the first time I activated the Bluetooth I was able to associate an equipment, but after a reboot it is no more possible). The reseller said me that it is probably a firmware problem and there is no way for the moment to solve it. As nobody is taking about that I would like to know if I'm the only one with these problems or if a fix exist. I made a post on cube web site but I received no answers.
Does someone can help me?
Thanks

Cube i6 air Dual Boot
I have recently bought a cube i6 air dual boot and its a fine machine with customer satisfaction. However I have found few lags in both os:
1. The clock of the windows os does not sync after booting and I had to manually sync it. So got to install a third party soft for auto sync with the internet.
2. It accepts only up to 4GB of pen drives. Any thing greater than 4GB does not connect in both os sides.
3. The Bluetooth devices sync with the android os do not auto connect after boot. They have to be unpaired and re paired for next use. I think need a os update which is not available for the moment.
If any body knows how to correct this please be good enough to help me.

Dual to Single
I think I have decided to get this tablet and I am very curious about the dual boot. The difference in price between single (android) and dual boot is minimal so I am wondering if at some time I decided to just want android, is it possible to just make the tab all android (single boot)?

charging very SLOW. takes forever to full charge. tried a few chargers, all the same. other than this everything works well.

anyone else bought this tablet?
From the videos so far, the build quality seems good. Probably better than x98?

dual os??
Hallo,
I have Cube I6 but there is just android OS. No windows OS.
Could someone help how to install second OS.

If you received it like that, shouldn't you be contacting the seller about it?

I've just thought..........................have you tried pulling down the notification tray and seeing if there's an icon like this present:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/gjo4m5k0axgpq5v/OS Switch.jpg?dl=0
It's the OS Switcher and if it's there, you need to click on it and it will boot from Android to Windows.
If it's not - you need to contact whoever it was that sold it to you for a solution.

About MTK MT6575 phone, H5500

i just checked this forum, i find there is no more information about MTK6575, i don't know why, so i just start this thread, and we can talk about the MTK6575 chipset.
it is reported that the newest MTK6575 phone is lenovo A750, but i checked some website in recently, and find one website start to sell the MTK6575 phone, named H5500, i guess you guys may know this news already, but i just see some video on youtube, and share this video here,
http://youtu.be/4ImOD99AHgY
in my opinion, it is better than MTk6573 phones, but it is a new phone anyway, so just view that video, and give your opinions.
hmm, still no one replys, no one is interesting in MTK6575 phone?
It looks good, but I'd wait for Android 4.0 before buying a phone with this chipset seeing as MediaTek announced that it supports ICS.
http://www.mediatek.com/en/News/news_content.php?sn=1052
oh, that's why.
i will continue to notice the MTk MT6575 products, maybe it will come up soon.
Look for zopo zp200

No. 6573 is ARM11 (ARMv6) while 6575 is Cortex A9 (ARMv7). Big difference.
Yeah It will be much superior to the old ARMv6 MTk6573
Hotmid are selling the Lenovo a750 already for $200. The only downsides are it has no camera flash and the Power VRX 531 GPU is pretty dated now. Although it does include dual sim and a 2000mah battery.
http://hotmid.com/lenovo-lephone-a7...screen-android-2-3-dual-sim-mobile-phone.html
I asked about ICS support and they said 'maybe later', so nothing definitive yet. They have also including a bench mark screen shot claiming scores of 2178, which is not bad if true.
ZOPO ZP100 w/ MTK6575
Doesn't look like anyone has had an opportunity to play with a phone using the MTK6575. I just was notified that my shipment of 1 x ZOPO ZP100 has left Singapore. As soon as it arrives, I'll let you know if it lives up to my expectations. I'll do a proper review when it arrives, and compare it to my previous phone, the motorola droid 2 on verizon.
Since the Droid 2 used the omap3630 (cortex a8) @ 1ghz w/ PowerVR SGX530, and the ZOPO ZP 100 uses the MTK6575 (cortex a9) @ 1ghz w/ Power VR SGX531, I'm expecting about a 20% performance increase, which considering a total cost of $210 USD including shipping seems awesome!
I'll be using the unlimited talk, text, web service from straight talk for $45 a month. I think this will be a winning combination!
There are 6+ highly available phones now available using the MTK6575 chip, and I've seen prices ranging from ~$200USD - $300+USD. The only major differences seem to be the cases, and the screen. While the of them have WVGA resolution (480x800), the ZOPO ZP100 has qHD resolution (540x960).
And no, I'm not trying to sell the ZOPO ZP100, just seems to be a fantastic phone, at a very reasonable price.
The highlights of the unlocked ZOPO ZP100 phone are:
·Operation System:Google Android 2.3.4
·CPU:MTK6575 (Cortex A9) 1GMHz ,GPUower SGX531
·4GB ROM+512MB RAM extend to 32GB max
·GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA HSPA
2G GSM:850/900/1800/1900 MHz
3G:2100 MHz
·Dual sim cards dual standby
·WIFI:802.11b/g wireless internet
·Built in GPS and support voice navigation
·4.3 inch Sharp ASV Capacitive multi-touch screen,QHD:960*540
·FM radio
·Support Compass
·G-sensor
·Light-sensor
·Dual cameras
·5.0 Mega Pixel wifh Auto focus
·3.5mm stereo audio jack
·Support word,excel,ppt, pdf format document
·Language:English/French/Spanish/German/Italian/Arabic/Russian/ Turkish/Portuguese/Bahasa indonesia/ Bahasa Melayu/Thai/Vietnamese/Chinese
6575 is supposed to be Mediatek's ICS chip. Wonder how close are they to the release.

I used to buy dual-sim phone with MTK6753 chip. I was surprised at its good build quality and smooth GUI (I do not play games). However, I was let down by two major things.
1. available ROM for additional applications: it has around 160MB which is too small. Some well-known apps won't be able to move to external microsd card. So I was not able to install some apps due to insufficient internal rom. I would like to buy the MTK6575 phone, but would be nice if the available free ROM is at least around 300-400MB.
2. camera: quality is not good at all. Mine didn't come with auto-focus feature. Hope to get MTK6575 with auto-focus back camera.
Yesterday I had a chance to see the Galaxy Note clone (MTK6573), the build quality and ROM GUI are very nice. It supports auto-focus; but again, the free ROM is just 30MB!.
Thanks in advance for those who would share with me the above issues.

the G11i pro is also based on the MT6573 chipset. this phone has a rom developer working on improving roms. one of thefeatures he added is ext2 file system support. so your free romspace can be as big as you like. read here

Does anyone have an MT6575 phone here? Any feedback with its performance?
Zopo100
I had this phone for almost two weeks now. Superb phone. I love it more than my HTC Evo 3D.
Advantages:
------------
1) Quick boot up. Only takes about 30s to boot up.
2) High quality LCD by Sharp ASV. I would say it's 100% identical to my Evo 3D.
3) Good camera quality, Sony 5MP. Although can't compare with Evo 3D's camera, this camera is unlike those cheapo low quality type commonly found in China phone. It's good, really good but not superb.
4) Dual sim standby but if you're talking on one line, the other line will get busy tone.
5) Great battery life even though smaller battery 1600mAh. I can use almost 24h with both line active. Evo 3D lasted about 12h only with equal usage.
6) Dedicated camera button.
7) High quality finish, up to 90% of HTC's quality. Can easily mistaken as the real HTC if someone pass the phone to you without you noticing the Zopo logo at the back.
8) Minimal RAM usage. I'm getting >300MB free memory out of 512MB after the phone boot up using stock ROM. Evo 3D only have around 230MB free memory out of 1GB!
9) The phone is really fast even though only 1Ghz single core. Zooming in and out, scrolling and clicking on appz was very very smooth.
10) Value for $$$
11) Upgradable to ICS 4.0 end of this month.
Disadvantages
--------------
1) Simple interface/launcher. Uses default ADW launcher (maybe that's why it's faster.
2) No Google Market or Play Store. Need to install myself after rooting it.
3) Rooting the phone is a real pain. Most of the appz for rooting not working. Need to find a rooted ROM from Zopo site and flash it.
4) Can be laggy if the phone is busy reading from SDcard, probably due to single core.
5) Camera button is a single touch. Can't depress a little for focus and fully depress to capture picture.
6) Small internal memory. Only around 500MB available. The rest is mounted as internal sdcard around 2.2GB. Prefers if everything is mounted as internal memory and uses external sdcard as storage.
7) No custom ROM available. No tun.ko drivers, so no VPN for this phone.
8) Can't find any casing that fits this phone because of the reverse position of 3.5mm audio jack and power button. Initially I thought can use Evo 3D's casing.
9) Weak GPU. Plays simple games really well but those 3D intensive might be a little laggy (still playable though).
10) No analog TV commonly a/w China phones.
Anyone who manages to compile tun.ko drivers for this baby kindly pass me a copy as well. Really needs it. Thanks in advance!
Is it upgradable to ics.? I doubt lol

According to Zopo's forum, the admins claimed that new ICS will be out end of this month. They even posted a video of successful incorporation of ICS into their test phone. Hope the info is accurate unless I'm reading wrongly from Google's translation from Chinese to English. LOL!
1 Does skype and gtalk video calls work?
2 flash player?
3 temple runs smooth?
Sent from my HTC HD7 Pro/+ using Tapatalk 2
Zopo100 Antutu Benchmark
I'm sorry. So far haven't try skype and gtalk, as a matter infact, I never did use those on my Evo 3D either. However, this is the only android phone I've encountered so far (among my friends and colleagues) that supports 3G video call just like in those dumb phones. Dunno why HTC phones don't support 3G video call.
I don't use Temple for benchmark but I'll include the scores taken from Antutu Benchmark.
More of the good stuffs:
-----------------------
1) Flash worked flawlessly.
2) Camera has anti-flickering function. Very useful when taking photos of X-rays on the x-ray box with fluorescent tube lighting. Would e useful if you're taking screen shots from CRT monitor and even some LCD screens.
3) The plain vanilla Android 2.3.6 is very stable. Rarely got crashes.
4) Built-in ROM was pretty fast, at least equivalent to Class 6 sdcard. When I use the built-in ROM (automatically mounted as 2.2GB internal sdcard), things ran pretty quick on the phone. Now that I've switch the internal sdcard (mounted as external storage /sdcard2) and my Class 4 32GB sdcard (mounted as internal storage /sdcard), things are noticeably slower now.
More of the bad stuffs:
----------------------
1) The infamous disappearing videos/photos plaguing many android devices also present here but only if you put video/images on /sdcard2. So the workaround is to put video/images on /sdcard.
2) GPS lock takes long time, average 5min from cold start compared to under 1min in my Evo 3D. This is after I've changed the GPS regional setting and enable the EPO function. Even when locked, single is pretty weak. Easily looses lock when cloudy or driving under slightly covered area. Evo 3D GPS lock and signal was superb and the best so far.
3) Good luck in finding custom ROM/kernels. Maybe it's still new and not many users at the moment.
4) Built-in VPN function is a little flaky. Can't use 3rd party VPN appz becaus no compatible tun.ko drivers.
Could be good or bad stuff:
--------------------------
1) There are also no drivers included in the package. Luckily, it's fully compatible with HTC drivers. As a matter in fact, it's being recognized as HTC phone in Windows 7
2)Rubberized outer shell. Feels good and firm when you hold it in your hands. My only worried is that if it becomes sticky later on like what happened to some of my usb drive and writing pens which has a rubbery coating.

Hi, As it is new tab it will take some time to get the support on XDA before that we need to find out original OEM of Auxus 01. I suggest check Ainol site, you might find some traces
But i guess its based on 1.0 GHz ARM Cortex A8 so any custom rom for that CPU might work. Also check VeeDee D13...costs only 5000Rs
iBerry Auxus AX01 OEM Info
Hi,
I have bought the Auxus AX01 Tablet and the OEM of what i think is Topwise. This the link to their website.
Cheers
I tried my best buy can't find the OEM. Checking Top wise. VeeDee D13 is ok, but ax 01 has 1GB RAM. D13 has Box chip CPU, same as SWIPE tel. DOn't know how much apps will support box chip, and is it MIPS instruction set?
Box Chip
Well, it's from Allwinner. An updated version. A13. Not MIPS. SO It must support many apps. Top Wise does not looks like AX01 check the specs.

Hardware

Hands on Experience:
Everything was as advertised. The hardware is already mentioned above. The pack contains all standard equipment and manuals except headphone. Although it is a cheap Chinese product but you get all the things you’d get in any other product.
Aesthetics:
Tablet is very light. You instantly get a plastic feel. The buttons are not so soft. They are as hard as an old cassette player’s button. The charger pin is a little long, it does not completely enters the charging port , not that it makes any difference, but it’s always visible.
Screen:
The display is as good as any other budget tablet with same resolution. It feels it’s a little loose, but perhaps it’s cause I am used to Gorilla glass. The digitizer and screen are quiet far. The DIP is 160.
Touchscreen:
It’s pathetic! Yes I said it. It might be cause I have got a bad unit, but when you use it you immediately find out whats the difference between international standard conforming company like Samsung and cheap knockout product.
You have to press really hard as if it was a resistive screen. The touchscreen misses signal, while moving widgets on screen you have to try many a times, the “birds” are released un expectedly, it takes lot of pain to unlock the the device. Although once you get used to pressing hard it does gets a little better, but you’ll always know that the touch screen is bad. I have used Ployer MOMO 9, it’s touch screen is a lot better
Charging:
Takes nearly 4 hours to charge 100%. The problem is, whe you charge with USB, the screen starts to flicker.
Battery:
I used it with wifi ON…3 hours straight, browsing, music, game play, played video files. The device turns off once battery reaches 5%. There is a problem while charging, the indicator jumps from 5% to 15 % in 5 minutes, I wiped battery stats but no change. Normal usgage will give about 4 hours of back up.
Apps:
This tablet has Google play installed by default; most of the apps that I installed are supported. Market shows most of the apps.

I also got the tablet yesterday and I liked it.
but the main problem is the touchscreen.
it is really bad.
I think iberry manufacturer should be notified of this fault and I hope they fix it with a software update.

Guys,
Have you all tried removing the protective plastic film that comes installed on the Tablet?
If no, then there's no wonder your touch screen sensitivity is bad.
Try doing that and then post an update because i don't find any kind of problem with the touchscreen.

Will you please post your review abhishek, it seem our fellow XDAns having some issues with the touchscreen
I removed the Screen Peel off when I got my tab.
but games like angry birds are not working properly(problems with touch)
BTW don't you guys think that our tab also need Attention as the Ax02 is getting on Xda?
I mean our tab is rooted with su binary and busybox
I installed superuser and updated binary and I got the su permissions properly.
I want to update the busybox so as to use lucky patcher but ax02 users say that updating busybox lead to hang at boot problems so I didn't update busybox.
And I want to know that is there any blog from where we can download WVGA games for our tab?
thanks.
Hv lot of questions!
i want to know Among Funbook P300 nd iBerry Auxus as01.. which I should I pick! Nd which one gives better battery nd performance? ax01 comes with 1gb ddr3 ram which is better than fb.. so is it better? nd among em which one takes less time to get fully charged?? more or less the specs r equal.. bt I am concerned about the battery.. nd which one has better screen????
Thanx in advance!
iBerry Auxus AX01 Review
This is a basic hands on review of the Auxus AX01 7" tablet. (The specs of this tablet are included in the first post of this thread)
Hardware:
1. Performance:
This tablet, for me, was a replacement to the HAIPAD M701-R that I had and broke during a careless disassembly process. The specs of this tablet are pretty good for this price point and I can definitely recommend this tablet as a value for money proposition. I did not feel the tablet getting stuck at any point of time during my usage.
2. Display
The touch screen for the initial 1.5 days of my usage felt extremely bad and I was regretting my purchase. But on looking at the user guide, I found that there was a peel off screen protection on the touch screen that needs to be removed. After removal of the peel off protection, the touch screen felt light and responsive. No problems here in this department for me. The display resolution and colour vibrance however is not as crisp as a Sony BRAVIA mobile display for example. The colours seem a bit washed out at times and don’t possess the richness. On close observation, one can clearly see the pixels spread around the screen. The 800X400 resolution does not help in any way for a screen of this size.
3. Other Hardware
The other hardware includes the buttons and ports all around the tablet. The Home, Back, Menu touch sensitive buttons have good amount of response to them but the lack of backlit under the keys were seriously missed here. You need to rely on your senses to approximate the location of the three keys, Very Difficult at times!
The Volume up, Volume Down, power off physical buttons work as expected and have a nice click to them on pressing.
The power in port, micro USB port, HDMI port and 3.5mm port work as expected. As mentioned in an earlier review by pranjal87, the power jack protrudes a little part of itself out of the power port, a problem that most can live with, no loose connections here.
Charging, as pranjal87 mentioned, takes nearly 3-4 hours to charge to 100%. I did not notice the screen flickering though. (Buyers of this tablet must try the 3 battery cycles method to extract the complete battery capacity. (For the first usage, charge to 100>Use till shutdown; Do this for another 2 times)
P.S: Charging the battery does not take as long now after some battery cycling. Who agrees to me on this?
I do not have the mini HDMI cable, so could not check the HDMI functionality of the tablet.
4. Software:
Out of the box, the tablet had a lot essential pre-installed apps. I liked almost all of them. Free memory in the tablet was around ~500MB at all times with various apps running in the background.
5. Is rooting required?
After reading various forums and using the tablet extensively, I felt that there was little or no use rooting this device. There is not a lot of factory bloatware installed. Root would be good if there were any stable customized ROMs and kernels that would enhance the functionality of this tablet.
6. Battery Backup:
Normal usage would let users enjoy the tablet for 3-4 hours. Mid to heavy usage would decrease that time to around 2.5-3.5 hours.
Hope the review was helpful to all.
Any specific questions can be posted if required.
Cheers!

Even I was confused between Auxus 01 and Funbook
Funbook
Advantage(i didn't used the pro word cuz then you might have confused it with the 10 inch funbook pro worth 9k!!!)
1.Warranty
2.Fully working hardware (specially TOUCH SCREEN)
3.Better 3rd party and xda support
Disadvantage
1.Less RAM
2.Less Battery
GIven a choice, I'd rather buy Funbook now, AUXUS has really depressed me. Other things do not matter utill your touch screen is working. I have given that i.berry seller on ebay a very bad rating ofcourse negative. That guys rathing is falling everyday, mostly cuz of delayed delivery, but there are others who have seen hardware failure. Check out nearly 80 negative review in a month.
On the RAM, I can say you will not find a very huge difference as you would see had you be running a windows pc. Cuz yes, android has a very very bad resource management system.

Update the binary from within the app and you are done.

Dual OS Tablets - Android 4.x + Windows 8.1 - general discussion, problems, tweaks

There are already couple of dual boot - able operating systems (OS) tablets on the market especially the well-known Teclast tablets with their Air 3G, Air II, X10HD, X80h and I am sure they will update their entire range of tablets with Dual boot OS, perhaps the other chinese manufacturers, but that does not matter as Teclast is the very best chinese brand for tablets. (quality-wise)
In consequence, I have a couple questions/suggestions. I want to buy Teclast X80h over any other tablets because it is extremely cheap (119$), it is dual OS and it is high-quality as any other Teclast tablets (for such low price!).
1. Are there any bugs with the dual OS that come from the factory? Do I have to be aware of it in any way? There is also a single Windows 8.1 OS for 115$, so if it is a problem with the Dual-OS, then I can go for the simple version.
2. How's the experience with the Dual OS? Does both OS work flawless or is there sacrificed anything?
3. Can you single boot? For instance, if I want to run only Win8.1, can I just boot Win8.1 and if I want Android I just restart the tablet and choose Android?
4. How much space is left in the internal memory on a 32GB eMMC? (~approximately) - Just out of curiosity because I heard Teclast supports on Win8.1 microSD cards up to 128GB with no problem.
I know there are other threads especially on Air 3G tablet, but there are over 400 pages. I thought it would be easier to make a thread and those who had experience to share their opinion with us, those who are willing to buy Dual OS tablets.
For me, the Android version is not a must. I need the Windows mostly, but if there's a Dual OS version for 5$ more, why not get it. This is why I created the thread, so we the newbs get help. Any other discussion can be talked, I made this thread as a general discussion one, where people talk about ideas, tweaks, big deals, recommendations, ask for help etc
A very good tablet, but the system takes up more memory.
I want buy the Teclast x80h too. I'm waiting for the answers too!
I recently got the Teclast x98 Air II (without 3G, as I prefer to use my 4G mifi).
Overall, the build quality is excellent and the screen is very close to what you'd get on the iPad Air. The large 4:3 form factor also works better for tablets as I like surfing in portrait.
Dual boot works well, you just reboot and choose which OS you want to use. To switch, just shutdown and restart. The only thing I'd say is a problem will be the eMMC size of just 32gb. I have about 7gb free on each side of the system. You can partition a microSD with ext4 and use Link2SD on the android side, and move most things to the microSD on Windows. But if you use a lot of Windows Store apps, they can't be installed on removable media.
Performance is OK for most general tasks. Remember it's an Atom processor, so don't expect it to fly on 3D games. Not much of a gamer myself, so it doesn't matter much to me. I've thrown all sorts of videos at it and so far they all played pretty smoothly.
Teclast recently sorted out the Play Store bug with an update, so both sides of the system works as expected. I've experienced some freezes and thermal event message on Android, but they don't happen often and only when I was trying to play a 3D game.
I'd say get one with a larger screen if you plan on using Windows. The faster Z3736F processor on the X98 and X10HD can certainly be felt.
There is that Onda v891w that was released not so long ago for 25$ more than X80h. It is not Dual OS, it is only Windows 8.1, but it is a better alternative for X80h as far as specifications are concerned. I am more interested in Windows. In fact, I do not need the Android. I thought it was a bonus on X80h, but after all I wouldn't use it at all. Anyway, V891w has bigger 8.9" FULL HD IPS screen, the all the other specs are the same. But how reliable is Onda? I know that Teclast is a safe buy, but can anybody tell me about Onda's products? It is a relatively high-end tablet. Please owners of Onda provide some infos and experiences, problems etc
I've got my eye on the recently announced Onda V919 3G Air, it looks an exact copy of the teclast but with 64gb storage for about the same price. Their dual OS switching method looks a little more polished also... still I'll be waiting on reviews..

Reply on X98 Air 3G Dual: All major bugs were resolved with an OTA update on 20141225. The hardware issue still remains for some batches. System crash on playing GPU intensive 3D games. but this is not specific to Dual Boot models. It appears in all. There is n fix yet. But you may avoid this by buying it from Authorized seller on AliExpress. They confirmed that fresh batches don't have this issue.
2. How's the experience with the Dual OS? Does both OS work flawless or is there sacrificed anything?
Reply: It works great. Nothing is sacrificed except for the Disk space used by each OS.
3. Can you single boot? For instance, if I want to run only Win8.1, can I just boot Win8.1 and if I want Android I just restart the tablet and choose Android?
Reply: Yes, you can single boot. The information "switch with button at bottom" is not true because both OS runs separately never simultaneously.
4. How much space is left in the internal memory on a 32GB eMMC? (~approximately) - Just out of curiosity because I heard Teclast supports on Win8.1 microSD cards up to 128GB with no problem.

You may think that Android and 3G are not must, but soon you may have to change this opinion when you run into a situation like you are outside at a place with poor wifi or a special offer running on just Android apps !!
That's just my opinion.
The main drawback with dual OS is the storage space. So in that way, ONDA 919 Dual Boot is better, but we don't know how it fares in other areas. Like it has a 6000mAh battery which is sure to fail you.
The 9.7 inch models gives you an edge because they have Intel Z3736F which turbo boosts to 2.16 GHz.

YEs you can. Check videos on youtube. There are lots of them. You can charge it, use keyboard, mouse and whatever you want simultaneously with a OTG cable and a USB port hub. I recommend you a 3.0 one with at least 4 usb ports.
After reading many reviews, I think i'll be purchasing one aswell. I can live with the limited storage as I'd be mainly using it for office, reading, occasional movie watching and writing notes. If you are going to buy, MAKE SURE you buy it from the authorized seller as other sellers may have older models which contains the bugs and glitches. It may be a few dollars more expensive but is worth it to not have the troubles.
Aside from this, a question I want to ask is that is there any warranty at all for international buyers -- I'm in Canada.
There seems to be a misconception whether or not the X98 both 3g non 3g models have gps or not. Can anyone clarify this?

Thank you. I have spent 4 days searching the internet and fiddling with virtual machines and UEFI boot. And this is the conclusion !
You can't install or boot x86 vhd machine on x64 cpu with UEFI x64
With bios boot you can have x86 and x64 machines. Too bad this tablet don't have legacy boot

As the tablet market continues shrinking, many Chinese tablet manufacturers are now focused on finding new business opportunities, marketing other digital stuffs such as wearable gadgets, mini PCs and TV boxes. Brands such as ifive and Beneve haven’t even released any new products for months. However, as the leading brand in the Chinese tablet market, Cube still manages to release new slates every month, including budget tablets such as the iWork 8 Dual OS Edition and high-end business-focused slate such as the Cube i7. The Cube i6 Air 3G Dual OS we are reviewing here is a revised version of the original Cube i6 Air 3G, which was released in the end of last year. Besides the added capability of running and switching between two operating systems, there is no other noticeable difference from the original model.
Cube i6 main specs:
OS: Android 4.4 & Windows 8.1 with Bing
Display: 9.7-inch IPS, 10-point multi-touch, IGZO
Screen Resolution: 2048 x 1536 (4:3)
CPU: Intel Atom Baytrail-T Z3735F Quad-core Processor
CPU Frequency: 1.8GHz
GPU: Intel HD Graphic
RAM / Storage: 2GB / 32GB
Function: WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS, OTG, Miracast
WiFi: 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi hotspot
3G: WCDMA 900MHz, WCDMA 2100MHz
2G: Network Frequency: 900MHz, 1800MHz
Camera: 5MP back camera, 2MP front camera
Battery: 8000mAh
Extend Port: TF Card Slot, SIM Card Slot, Micro USB Port, 3.5mm Headphone Jack
Weight & Size: 500 g / 237 x 170 x 8.8 mm
Design & build
The Cube i6 Air 3G Dual OS has the exact same design as the original i6 Air 3G: built upon premium looking metal materials, the feel of the tablet is very solid in hand and there are no obvious gaps or noises when handling where the front and rear panels meet.
The front is dominated by a 9.7-inch IPS capacitive screen, with a 2MP camera above (in portrait), there is a speaker gate, a rear-facing camera and some branding on the Aluminium back.
Physical keys, ports and slots are all on the sides of the tablet body. A Micro USB port (for charging and data transmission) and a 3.5mm headphone jack is on the top side.
While a power button, a volume rocker, a Micro SIM card slot and a Micro SD card slot are located on the right side.
The Micro SIM tray can be easily pulled out with our own fingers, no need of an awkward ejection tool some of the tablets and smartphones require.
The tablet isn’t the lightest 9.7-incher I have picked up, but it’s still what I would consider an okay weight for this category at 500 grams, especially considering that it has a metallic rear. At 8.8mm thin it’s not chunky, nor is it super slim.
Screen and sound
The i6 Air 3G Dual OS sports a 9.7-inch IPS display at the resolution of 2048*1536, by Apple’s standards, this is a Retina display. The screen is extremely sharp and clear, the colors are rich and vivid. Viewing angles are good, generally as what you would expect from an IPS screen. And the brightness is decent, as well, but due to the reflectiveness of the screen it would be nice if it could go a few notches higher, especially when used outdoors.
I encountered no fixed or dead pixels on my unit, unlike the Teclast P98 Air I reviewed which had two fixed/stuck pixels. I noticed no light bleed on the i6 Air 3G Dual OS’ display, either.
With that said, this is still far from being the best tablet display we have laid our eyes on. Already spoiled by the Quad HD PLS displays on the SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 and the super vibrant AMOLED displays on the SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab S series, the i6’s display could only be rated “good” by our standards now, even though it is better than most of the displays on tablets priced under $200.
The 5-point capacitive touch screen was highly sensitive to our gestures, allowing us to pinch-zoom, swipe with ease and draw with all the fingers on one hand in Windows Paint.
The T100's speakers delivered audio that was loud enough to fill a large room. Whether we were playing Ed Sheeran’s bass-heavy "Sing" or the Toni Braxton' guitar-centric "Spanish Guitar", the sound was fairly accurate, though a bit hollow and tinny. The 3.5mm audio jack has a good loud volume output with plenty of bass and clarity. However I heard a buzz of electrical interference every now and then over my headphones when not playing music or videos. When there was active audio output, the issue was not as noticeable.
Storage
The i6 Air 3G Dual OS only comes with a 32GB eMMc storage option at this stage and this is unlikely to change. Our unit has an eMMc flash chip, which produced some good speed and very nice 4K random write scores for an eMMc drive. But here also comes a sign of oddity if you look at the default partition scheme. The 32GB of eMMc storage integrated is split up into two partitions: Windows is on one (24GB), Android 4.4.4 is on another (8GB). There's no direct, automatic sharing of photos, documents, or other app data between the two operating systems. The explanation by Cube makes sense – it is to prevent users from deleting important system files of one OS while they are running on the other OS. Fortunately, the Micro SD card slot supports cards up to 64GB, and is the only mean for the two operating systems to share files.
Connectivity
As the model name indicates, this is a cellular tablet which has access to 3G network (WCDMA and GSM). The reason why Cube doesn’t give a 2015 tablet 4G support is probably due to the cost of making this device. Still, it does offer enough data speed for most tasks such as web browsing, social network feeds and online chatting.
Besides 3G and Wi-Fi, the i6 Air 3G Dual OS also offers a lot of other connectivity options: the built-in Bluetooth 4.0 makes it easy for us to connect the tablet with headphones or input devices, the GPS can be used to precisely tell your location.
The Micro USB port on board supports USB on the go, and connect USB storage or input devices via an adapter.
Operating system
With most of the dual boot tablets, you get a boot screen selector with a choice of Android or Windows when you boot them, but with the i6 Air 3G Dual OS, you don’t. The tablet will automatically enter the operating system from which you shut the tablet down.
Below is an OS switching video on YouTube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ue0WeIKH-o
Switching between the two operating systems is conveniently accomplished by tapping a software icon on the screen. The switch isn't instantaneous, the tablet need to perform a full reboot to enter the other operating system, but fortunately it only takes less than half a minute.
Cube has done zero customization to both operating systems, so you get a clean Windows 8.1 and a stock Android 4.4, which is not a bad thing, especially for people driven insane by the poorly designed UI on some of the Chinese budget smartphones.
Performance
Powered by an Intel Bay-trail Z3735F with a clock speed of 1.3GHZ and a maximum boost speed of 1.8GHz and coupled with 2GB of RAM, this dual boot tablet can tackle basic office and web tasks with ease. It can even play 4k video, but the screen doesn’t match the full 4K resolution, and there isn’t HDMI port on board to output the graphics to a larger display.
Intel's integrated graphics pale in comparison to high-end cards from AMD and Nvidia, but they're still a lot quicker than even the best-of-the-best integrated GPUs from the ARM chipmakers. In the 3D Mark Ice Storm test, the i6 Air 3G Dual OS returned a score of “maxed out”. In other benchmarks’ 2D and 3D segment, the i6 also got relatively high marks.
Benchmarks aside, in the real world use, the i6 performed like a boss in Android, handling even the heaviest Android tasks with ease. In Windows, things are a little different, all the apps installed from the Windows 8 app store ran smoothly on the i6, with no lag or stutters at all; the i6 did struggle a little bit with some of the demanding Windows desktop applications such as graphic-intense 3D games as well as image and video editing software. Fortunately, the most important productivity tool – the Microsoft Office, which was perfectly compatible with touchscreen operations, ran smoothly on this slate. Even better, the retail version of the i6 Air 3G Dual Boot includes 1 year subscription of Microsoft Office 365, making the tablet an even better bargain.
Battery life
Cube claims the i6 Air 3G Dual OS can get 6 hours of battery life in video playback, and that’s almost exactly what we got during our time with this slate. The tablet packs an 8,000mAh irremovable Li-Po battery, which is the standard for a Chinese tablet this size. With 30% brightness (which is more than sufficient for indoor use) and Wi-Fi on surfing the internet and dong a few light tasks, I was able to get around 6 hours from the i6 Air in Windows or around 5.5 hours in Android. In our standard cngadget battery rundown test, the tablet lasted 6 hours and 19 minutes looping a 1080P MP4 video in Android before shutdown due to battery drain.
Cameras
The i6 Air 3G Dual OS has two cameras on board, one on the front and one on the rear. You don’t need anything better than the front-facing 2MP camera for video chatting, and the rear-facing 5MP camera also takes decent photos for Facebook and Instagram updates, and the shots even better those taken by some budget smartphones in overall image quality. But we would still not recommend anyone use a tablet this big as their main camera device.

Wrap-up
The Cube i6 Air 3G Dual OS is one of the better bargains in Chinese tech today. For only RMB999 ($161), you get a full licensed Windows 8.1 running on a 9.7-inch Retina IPS display, one year of Microsoft Office 365, 3G connectivity and access to all your favorite applications in Android Google Play. That's not to say this tablet is perfect. The 24GB storage partition for Windows 8.1 is too small, the battery life isn’t all that satisfactory, you cannot actively choose the OS you want to enter in boot screen and there isn’t a hardware Windows Key on board.
If you want a more premium Windows slate today, you'll need to go for a much more expensive Intel Core-powered tablet, such as the $581 Cube i7 or the $403 PIPO Work-W8. However, if you want a 9.7-inch Windows 8.1 tablet that's good enough for most everyday tasks or a power Android slate, the i6 Air 3G Dual OS is an extremely compelling choice.
The good
Nice design and solid build.
Amazing display.
Licensed Windows 8.1 and one year subscription of Office 365.
Powerful performance in Android and decent performance in Windows 8.1.
Cellular network access and phone functions.
The bad
Audible buzz of electrical interference with headphones.
Below-average battery life.
No physical Windows key.
No OS selector in bootscreen.
No HDMI output.
Android storage
Hi, for Cube i6, is it possible to install apps on external SD card on android?
Hi, thx for the nice review. If you had to choose between the Cube , the Teclast, or the Onda , which one would you pick ?
Have you tried making an actual phone call ? If so what was the quality ? If not could you still try that ? And maybe also try with a bluetooth headset ? Thanks .

I don't think so, but it is possible to store the data packages of big applications on the SD card

I did try to make a phone call with a headphone and a Bluetooth speaker, the quality is good enough.

Definitely Cube, the best among the second-tier Chinese brands, the first tier includes Huawei, Lenovo and ZTE.
Hi, Thanks for the answer, I already ordered the cube after long deliberation and research... Looking for some not too big wireless headset and a ' man bag' , and hopefully I'll have my 'all-in-one ' solution. Thinking of reviewing it myself in my own language, and also showing making a actual phone call in android and windows, I'll be the first ! Dunno why nobody seems to be interested in that, allthough the suc6 of the sales suggest otherwise..
Ι 'm about to buy one of these ... can it be rooted?

This thread will be updated as more info, reviews, unboxings and questions come in.
I've been looking forward to this device. My only problem with it is I haven't seen any decent keyboard docks that aren't just flimsy foldable cases for any of the X98 line.
Its on sale on Tinydeal too.

I will have to buy it from here since aliexpress does not ship to my country.
Heard that they will release a dual boot android/10 down there road.
Any truth to this? if so i will hold tight for that.
*EDIT*
had it open in a tab i hadn't got to yet.
http://techtablets.com/2015/08/teclast-x98-pro-price-dual-boot-and-4g-systems-to-follow/
Wonder how long we are talking... a few weeks? a few months?
*EDIT2*
People seem to think that the dual boot is just a software flash/upgrade away. And that you wouldn't have to actually buy a different model.
This would make me pull the trigger on it.
What do you guys think?

It's dimensions are just about identical to the iPad Air, I'm reasonably sure something like this should work just fine - http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/ultrathin-air?crid=1608

Here it is again http://www.tinydeal.com/es/teclast-...-4gb-64gb-tablet-pc-w-bluetooth-p-155607.html
I've been looking at this tablet for the past hour and it seems really nice. Also, the best price I could find was here: http://dealsnow.info/2015/08/14/teclast-x98-pro-best-windows-10-tablet-currently-available/
It also offers a 5$ discount off the regular price.

Any thoughts on JustusIV question on this?? I am in the same position, ready to hit the "preorder" button if anybody could indicate if this would be "dual-bootable" after a software upgrade and not beeing a hardware issue?

According to the official Teclast website this is a Windows only tablet. I could not find any mention of dual-boot. Also, at the link I posted earlier it seems to be in Stock, not just pre-order.
cant wait for it to deliver!
hey all i just bought this tablet. I really don't care if it has dual boot on it or not. I have been testing out an emulator called DROID4X and it is absolutely amazing. Its extremely fast once you get it downloaded of course (slow download). I ran a bunch of benchmarks and scored higher than any other system. so the emulator works really good. very stable, and all the games Ive played on it so far work perfectly.
I scored 83,000 on ice storm unlimited.
114,000 on antutu.
8.926 seconds on 10,000,000 pi.
of course I'm running this all on an oc 4790k build but even if the z8500 can do 30% of that ill be fine. If they get dual boot working on it even better. Until then the emulator works perfect. i would score higher but my system isn't optimized to run android. I actually ran android off of boot able USB and it was horribly slow. i might snag another ssd to install it because i don't want to fragment my windows ssd. that's one concern i have about the dual boot. can anyone chime in on how well the system will separate the files for dual boot? what if you need to reinstall windows or reset android?
That's amazing. have you tried PS2 emulators (or gamecube)?
Greetings my friends! Any way to clone dump the eMMC to an external backup drive, USB Flash Drive (Pen drive) or microSD Card?
I need to backup everything including Windows and Android boot partitions, data partitions, recovery partitions before doing anything on the tablet.
Thanks!

I read in another forum abour 86C in one core. Ther is a video how to improve
