Hello,
I'm having issues with WiFi, it doesn't connect to my home network at all. This is what I did..
I sunshine rooted/s-off with success then I fastboot stock recovery then took the ota. That went well, but the WiFi doesn't connect. Should I reinstall tarp and see if it connects or maybe flash the radio??
Thanks for your time.

You aren't the first. Can you backup and factory reset first to see if that fixes the problem?
I have a backup already, can I factory reset and still have my apn settings??
I'm still on stock recovery, should I flash twrp now??

No...Stock recovery is best for factory reset.
@dottat
So factory reset in stock recovery?
I'll still have my apn settings intact? Sorry I've only messed with a Sprint HTC one m7 ONLY on CDMA with no 4G LTE when I was on Guam. Now I'm afraid I'll lose settings I need to get it functioning properly.

I am having some wifi issues as well. I just tried a factory reset and the issue still remains. I will try doing the full RUU tomorrow, but off to bed for me for now.
My wifi issue is that it connects but constantly drops the connection. I haven't been able to make sense of it yet. I'm at work most of the time and this is where I notice it. I'm not sure if it is only here or happens on other routers, but I will keep trying to track it down.
Ok, I've tried to reflash stock recovery and redo what I did to take the OTA, but now it's just a RED triangle when it tries to install....
What am I doing wrong?
What/where can I find the stock recovery?
Also, I can't get into stock recovery also, to try and factory reset.
Also to add:
When I take the OTA is the phone still rooted? I remember vaguely that I wasn't able to use root apps at all, so maybe that's my issue with stock recovery.
Thing I am most worried about*maybe I'm overreacting* is carrier settings, when I factory reset or maybe doing a RUU, so guys please enlighten me about this.

Flash the stock tar.md5 from here: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=scH-i535
Whatever you flashed put a custom kernel on there, and that's why you get that message.

I have tried to odin stock and then wipe. still showing no data connection, and same thing when I put my wifes sim in. IM thinkiing it has something to do with the dual boot i had set up before. is there a way to repartion the internal sd card or emmc?
This seems to be happening to a lot of people flashing AOSP ROMs....this is why they warn you they are not responsible for what happens to your phone...especially with Betas.
There are many threads on this and several on how to get a workaround until someone figures out how to fix this.
Try doing a search on losing IMEI or roaming after flashing CM10...it is happening a lot...that is why I am just using rooted stock with VZW apps and TW frozen.
this problem I was having with no data or radio in CM10.
I used ODIN to go back to stock rooted (root 66).
When I did that I was boot looping in the puking rainbows 4GLTE boot animation.
I eventually figured out how to fix that by booting into recovery (press volume up, home button, and power button at the same time till phone boots). I then did a wipe data/factory reset.
My phone then booted fine into stock root.
I then proceeded to punch in *2767*3855# into my dialer immediately when I got stock root working. That did some sort of a factory reset / format. It all happened so quick I could barely read what it told me. The phone rebooted after a while.
I then downloaded EZ-Recovery for VZW Galaxy S3 app from the Play store.
I installed the custom recovery from Dhacker's CM10 post over on the droidhive forums using EZ recovery.
I also downloaded the CM10 file to flash and the Jelly Bean Google Apps file.
Rebooted into recovery, Wiped data/cache/dalvik.
Installed the CM10 file.
Installed the Jelly Bean apps.
Reboot.
Profit.
I now have a largely functional CM10 (as far as I can tell there are some camera issues). Data 3G/4G is working, so are calls and text and everything is dandy.
Did the *27 bla bla thing posted above and back to normal. Thanks everyone

hi,
Due to low battery i switched my phone to 2g only mode. Now i tried to return it to 3g preferred mode, and the phone refuse to connect to 3g network...
It is not the first time it happens to me, last time i had to do a factory reset, but i really don't want to do it again.
I tried to enter and exit airplane mode, tried to make the phone use wcdma only (vie *#*#4636#*#*), restart, nothing helps.
I have I9020A, 4.1.1 completely stock and using XXKB3 radio.
Any ideas before I'm doing a factory reset again?
Flash a different radio and then flash back to kb3.

Hi, thx for the answer.
I'm trying to flash a new radio but without success. It just get stuck on the flashing and nothing happens for a long time (it should take no more then few seconds). When i pull out the battery it seems like nothing happened..
Any other suggestions?
That's weird. I've had this problem with kb3 before and solved it by flashing uckj1 or uckf1. I currently use kj1 because kb3 would never switch back to 3g for me and I don't notice that much if a difference in speed, even with capped uploads. Dunno, maybe the file your trying to flash is messed up. Did you get it from the radio thread in development?
Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app
Yes, I tried the files from the developers forum thread. I also tried to flash the kb3 again and got the same error. It's really weird..

By completely stock do you mean you're not rooted? If that's the case, maybe that would explain why the radio won't flash. Also, just a wild attempt, have you tried toggling mobile data? Turn it off then on then switch to wcdma only?
yep, not rooted. it might explain, i'll root it now and try again
and yes, i've tried to play with it. it showed edge signal even when i had set it to WCDMA only. weird.

I'm not sure if rooting will preserve your data though (I know I deleted mine when I rooted) but there might be other methods out there.
Once you root, be sure to install ClockworkMod (download ROM Manager from the Play store and install CWM from the app). Restart to CWM and install the radio zip from sdcard. You might already know this though. lol
Yea i know how to root, did it million times already. It doesn't delete your data, only if it's the first time and you are unlocking the bootloader. btw, I tried to flash the radio via fastboot and not by flashing it from the recovery, do i still need to be rooted for it? I though that i dont have to..

If you're flashing a fastboot image, I don't think you do. Just need an unlocked bootloader. But you should just give the recovery flashing method a try. Who know, it might work.
So I'm S-off, Firewater, SuperSU, CWM, stock software, I have not loaded a ROM, fastboot flashed the nohbootimg firmware update, added the HTC browser, and flashed the OTA-killer.
Can I do a Factory reset without it messing something up? I'm having 3 issues that I want to see if a reset will fix, one is my alarm clock keeps turning itself off, another issue is that when I turn the phone on it seems to take a long time to "Prepare Sim card" , and the last issue is that I get a email "login failed" notice which is poping up before the phone starts seeing the data connection.
Thanks

If you are simply stock and rooted... you can factory reset using CWM without any issue.
Worst case scenario if you are backed up...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52115727
Since you have not installed a ROM I would think a factory reset would be a good first step. You will probably lose some if the customization you have done, but I wouldn't think you would lose root or anything like that. I believe a reset will just wipe the data partition ( maybe dakvik and cache as well).

Thanks! Just curious, I'm trying to learn as fast as I can , how does CWM reset differ from the the stock one?
And do you think that the CWM reset could help with the issues?

They both typically wipe the same partitions however the stock recover also resets some radio elements which is why you will always see me suggest to someone with radio issues to do a factory reset from stock recovery.

I used the reset in CWM and I'm going through the setup now, I guess we'll see if this helps. Thanks guys!!!
Well the alarm is staying on so far and I'm not getting the email login failure but I think I lost my CWM, guess I'd better reload it.
Interesting, I can't seem to get into my hboot mode? hmmmm
nevermind, I'm a dolt, forgot to turn off fast boot and I Still have CWM but when I select reboot I get a message "Root access possibly lost. Fix?" Anyone know what this could mean? Should I Pick "Yes - Fix Root" . I'd assume so, what the heck lets see what happens. lol
When using wifi my Internet speed is great but if I use the Verizon network my phone stumbles around and is really slow to download Web pages or any data. Could a new sim card possibly fix this issue? S - offed, unlocked and rooted with stock recovery. Thanks.

No. A factory reset using stock recovery on a stock Rom could though.
Thanks for the feedback. A factory reset is a nightmare for me, I have a ton of work things on my phone that took forever to be able to not only install but also get to operate properly. Any other suggestion short of a factory wipe?

Nope. Specifically, stock recovery resets certain radio settings that can cause radio problems.
There's no way to just reset the radio? Not meaning to be a pain but damn it's a pain in the butt to redo everything after a factory reset.

That's correct. You have the HTC backup app? That does apps/texts/email accounts/desktop layout and more.
If this is a redundant post then I apologize, but I'm having a hard time finding a solution. The short version is that after going from CM to stock rom (rooted) I've lost 4G. I can get it back by switching from global to LTE only, but then I lose cell signal. I've tried many different roms, stock recovery, RUU followed by stock recovery and factory reset and nothing has worked so far. Does anyone have a suggestion? I'll survive with 3G, but I'd rather get what I'm paying for if possible. Again, I apologize if this has already been answered. If so, just link it.

You mentioned stock recovery and you mentioned factory reset but have you specifically done a factory reset WITH stock recovery? That's the most common solution for this problem.

I have tried that. Here's basically what I've done so far.
1) RUU with this. Only 3G at first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...zip-ruu-m8vzw-5-0-1-s-off-onlynewest-t3047103
2) Go into recovery, factory reset. Only 3G again.
3) Go into bootloader, fastory reset. Only 3G again.
4) Flash another 5.0.1 'stock recovery' from a different source.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723159
5) Again factory reset from stock recovery. Only 3G.
Is that what you mean? Also, I didn't mention before but my phone is S-OFF.
