Just look at the Mote E Specs its beat Samsung s2 plus in all aspects expect in camera . Dear Samsung please change your attitude other wise ............

Applies to all sammy also.
I think (hope) Samsung is waiting for final 4.4 update from Google.
I checked Samsung updates for many device, usually there is no for example 4.0.1 or 4.1.1 or 4.2.1 updates they are 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 , ...
I wish final KitKat would be released soon then lots of Samsung devices will be updated.

Hello everybody!
Just comment that the Bluetooth.org (SIG) group has just certified some days ago the upgrade to KitKat for our Xperia M2 (and also for E1). Therefore, Sony might launch this long awaited update during this July hehe :fingers-crossed:
On the other hand, I have spoken to Sony support's chat some hours ago for an issue of hardware, and I've also asked them if they knew what day it would be launched, but they have told me that they do not know that for sure, it will be soon, without giving details, what a pity! ..
Now we just have to wait
Source: https://www.bluetooth.org/tpg/QLI_viewQDL.cfm?qid=23476
Ooh my ...
i cant wait eheh..
When we get kitkat, i think that will be possible to move apps to SD ... right ?
Well, Kitkat for T2 Ultra is out and has the ability to move apps to SD card so we should expect it to happen to our M2
That will be nice

They won't. People you need to understand, Sony had made the mistake of releasing too much devices (which in turn made them lose a lot of money). They also need to support these new devices despite causing them financial trouble. Their dev team would not be able to handle too much, that's why they cut support for the Xperia L and other mid-range and low-end devices for last year as well. Plus the fact that our Xperia L is an ODM device, that's why it has a lot of hardware issues no software can fix, most probably why they did not give us a 4.4 or at least 4.3 because they just can't solve these with software.

make sense. that's is why at the time Xperia L for AOSP KitKat released by Sony, is just a "death flag" for us to get 4.4 or even 4.3.

Stop denying the fact that this phone is discontinued. There's no Mid/Low end sony phone that have more than 2 android upgrades
Xperia L 4.1 > 4.2
Xperia M 4.1 > 4.3
Xperia M2 4.3 > 4.4
Xperia J 4.0 > 4.1
And so on
Admit it, THEY WON'T Do anything, or care about a small petition

Hate to be this guy to give you this "truth" but I don't see Sony doing anything really to update Xperia L at all.
All your efforts would not suffice to change their minds.
I remember doing that for another device and regardless of how big our community grew in efforts to persuade Sony to give us another update but it didn't happen.
Sony has a very weird system of updating devices and there's no real thought given and usually their promises of updating for a year aren't kept either. They would simply stop " updates of a mid ranger" while update an older low end device with half the ram. And if asked why you can't update the device, they'd just say that the mid ranger wasn't good enough to run the new OS due to its limited memory.
And that's it. In recent year Sony is bracing for more losses than previously expected due to selling lesser mid range and low end phones. One of the factor being, very little and slow updates.
Sony needs to learn from Motorola which is updating its phones to lollipop which are not just old but also run on 512 mb ram.
I wish you all the best and I hope that I'm proved wrong by Sony but I don't see that happening at all.
I won't sign because simply they won't..our device is discontinued.. So no matter what we do..nothing will happen
Last year we have made a petition to update our phone to kitkat or jellybean 4.3 (Sony didn't announce that our xl is discontinued that time) but Sony didn't do anything.. And now you want them to respond to us after they have announced that our xl is discontinued?? Oh please

Everything that has Qualcomm is much better that this crap.
With Mediatek you can't expect unofficial nor even official updates.

Actually this device has everything. More expensive phones aren't "smarter", they have just, you know, more power.
Only internal storage sucks, 8 GB would be enough.
Lollipop?? Its kitkat

E4 is worse than E3 it only give us 0.1 ghz faster cpu for buying crappy mediatek cpu
only good thing in it was 8gb memory and lollypop. if i have to choice a phone i will choice E3 not E4 cuz it has Mediatek cpu.
Guys, say sayonara to lollipop
Well well well guys, we have now a new entry level flagship called Xperia E4 (E3 succesor) . I know that MediaTek chipset are crappy and low power proccesors when you compare it with Qualcomm, please dont get dissapointed or sad about our little E3 D22XX. We must focus on our devices in order to standing out among others.
So, at this point i have made a thinking about the situation: probably we´re not going to get a taste sweet of lollipop. Enjoy CM12! with our powerful E3 22XX
See the new rotten kid on the block
More from the new kid on the block
Hi guys, here´s a video from our russian friends showing us the Xperia E4 (isnt a unboxing) and looks very reliable and real. I think the guys are a little bit disappointed because is mediatek (i heard that when they talk)
As you can see even the Xperia E4 has android 4.4 kitkat inside, there´s no lollipop or material design around.
And here we have both devices, head to head, the fight between E3 and E4 in the official sony publicitary spots

It has just two things better in software side:
Grey statusbar and navbar in Sony apps (E3 is the only Xperia that has black navbar and statusbar in sony apps)
Z3 camera, it has improved speed and quality image

However, the phone will have preinstalled Android Kitkat 4.4.4. I find that it does not pay to change trains at him because of the stronger batteries or Ultra mode Stamina
Well, today we received another slap in the face: Xperia E4g LTE with dual Sim and single Sim support is going to be released in April 2015. E4g is just a little bit tiny lower compared with E4 gsm. theres Nothing of improvements because E4g remains with mediatek and Mali instead of Qualcomm and adreno.
In fact E4 and E4g are new low end devices from Sony. its obvious for everyone that economic crisis made Sony reduce quality in new low end devices. that risk chess movement may not keep the Faith in Sony old customers but can invite new users to enjoy the brand.
by the way, I think E3 is better than E4g and E4 because we have everything we need in a solid device(I mean NFC, LTE and good chip set). we dont need dual sim, we only need a better front facing camera and 4 GB more of internal memory, lollipop and that's it!!!.
an enhanced E3 would be a better idea
Root E4 Dual Sim (E2115)
Hello, i had unllock bootloader of this phone (model E2115), but i can not root it.
Does anyone know how ?
Thanks
I bought one yesterday on the local vendor and I can say right away, it's horrible. I can't believe Sony launched this crap as a mid level smartphone. I had a Mlais Mx28+ that was more "machine" than this E4.
At first impression the THICK design was what made me hate it right away.
137 x 74.6 x 10.5 mm (5.39 x 2.94 x 0.41 in).
When I've opened the back cover, surprise surprise, No removable Battery...
For a brand that stands out as a green loving enviromental group, this option makes us wonder... Who are you? Apple?
On the rest part it's all the same as the phone I had. But mine costed only €79...
Here's a thought. Ask what users want in a phone, compromise it the best you can and try not to think just about profit.
I'm going to turn this back.

Hello,
go to that site :
http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/
and select from the List "Sony Xperia E3" because E4 is not in the list, but is working. Follow the procedure step by step.
My advice is, DON'T Unlock your bootloader yet, because you will cannot update the firmware after that. Wait o few months to get some updates and then Unlock.
Although, there is a tool and a procedure to get back to a stock ROM and Relock the bootloader, but is not working for E4, because E4 is not fully supported yet.
Root xperia e4.
For root xperia e4 use kingo Root, it works with me.
so you guys are saying xperia E3 is a better phone than xperia e4?
twrp for xperia e4g
Hello sir,
Can any one guide how to install twrp in xperia e4g dual
Thanks in advance
Sudhakarmamilla
Is it really that bad ?
I might get it soon.
Or maybe E3, but i like E4 much more.
How about Android Go based ROM for Xperia L ?
I saw this : https://www.xda-developers.com/android-go-old-android-8-1-oreo/
https://review.lineageos.org/#/q/"Android+Go"
Adrian DC is working on Xperia Devices.
Can we get for taoshan as well ? What say developers?
I think Go will e perfect for our low end device and actually a better solution for Xperia L than normal android distribution. Though the downside is less number of app. But that will increase.
yeah i am having the same idea
it would be awesome if taoshan develope and android go version for xperia l
It would be really nice.
We'll get more speed and storage space.
But I don't think that it will come soon for our Xperia
Let's wait and hope for the best

Please developers our Xperia L needs this room.
Even after stable roms my phone is heating like iron Box
Low performance. Battery drains fast. And low storage problems.
Please make a go edition Rom.
Meanwhile lineageOS started with Oreo : https://www.xda-developers.com/lineageos-15-android-oreo-officially-announced/
And the Oreo as arrived.
Thanks @corphish
