Singed i hope Sony Update My XL

They won't. People you need to understand, Sony had made the mistake of releasing too much devices (which in turn made them lose a lot of money). They also need to support these new devices despite causing them financial trouble. Their dev team would not be able to handle too much, that's why they cut support for the Xperia L and other mid-range and low-end devices for last year as well. Plus the fact that our Xperia L is an ODM device, that's why it has a lot of hardware issues no software can fix, most probably why they did not give us a 4.4 or at least 4.3 because they just can't solve these with software.

make sense. that's is why at the time Xperia L for AOSP KitKat released by Sony, is just a "death flag" for us to get 4.4 or even 4.3.

I said , DON'T SAY THEY WON'T !!!

Stop denying the fact that this phone is discontinued. There's no Mid/Low end sony phone that have more than 2 android upgrades
Xperia L 4.1 > 4.2
Xperia M 4.1 > 4.3
Xperia M2 4.3 > 4.4
Xperia J 4.0 > 4.1
And so on
Admit it, THEY WON'T Do anything, or care about a small petition

M dual have no 4.1.2, it came with 4.2.2 out of the box

Hate to be this guy to give you this "truth" but I don't see Sony doing anything really to update Xperia L at all.
All your efforts would not suffice to change their minds.
I remember doing that for another device and regardless of how big our community grew in efforts to persuade Sony to give us another update but it didn't happen.
Sony has a very weird system of updating devices and there's no real thought given and usually their promises of updating for a year aren't kept either. They would simply stop " updates of a mid ranger" while update an older low end device with half the ram. And if asked why you can't update the device, they'd just say that the mid ranger wasn't good enough to run the new OS due to its limited memory.
And that's it. In recent year Sony is bracing for more losses than previously expected due to selling lesser mid range and low end phones. One of the factor being, very little and slow updates.
Sony needs to learn from Motorola which is updating its phones to lollipop which are not just old but also run on 512 mb ram.
I wish you all the best and I hope that I'm proved wrong by Sony but I don't see that happening at all.

I won't sign because simply they won't..our device is discontinued.. So no matter what we do..nothing will happen
Last year we have made a petition to update our phone to kitkat or jellybean 4.3 (Sony didn't announce that our xl is discontinued that time) but Sony didn't do anything.. And now you want them to respond to us after they have announced that our xl is discontinued?? Oh please

How is Sony uppdates too newer Android for Experia Z

I wounder how is Sony Xperia Z updates proces to latest Android uppdates like 4.4.2 too 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 or too Android L.
Because I want too buy Z3 because iam tired of Samsung slow uppdates and blotware.
Skickat från Samsung Note 3
On z1 we have kitkat (4.4.4) for 6 and half Month now.
I guess this helps you.

And on Z2 we're still on 4.4.2.
Sony have been pretty poor in the past with their update schedule and their lack of support for phones older than 1 year but I think they have improved a bit since I last owned my Xperia Ray ... I hope for timely updates on my Z3 when I get it, at least a years worth as I tend to upgrade annually anyway. HTC from my experience were just as bad, again I have no recent experience with any Sony phone to give a definitive answer.

[Q] When can we expect an Android Lollipop update for the Z3?

With the new Nexus 6 and 9 presented today together with a new Android version, how soon can we expect that Sony updates its latest flagship devices? I have heard different stories about Sony's update speeds, and I hope that they are fast this time ironing bugs and giving their skin a visual up-lifting
Was just about to make a similar thread
Everyone excited about lollipop but I don't think Sony will update the z3 to lollipop anytime soon
It will be a minimum of at least 2 months after the motos or nexii

If only we could have a Z3 with Stock Android!
Sony amazed everyone with android 4.4.4 updates to its Z series, even faster than Motorola.
Let's hope that the same thing would happen again with Lollipop ?
Hmmm... I guess I can't post URLs yet but Sony Blog had some good news:
You’ve probably seen Google unveil Android version 5.0; Lollipop…
Since the initial reveal of the Android “L” Developer Preview, we’ve seen lots of questions on our upgrade roadmap about our plans – so, here goes…
We’ll be making Sony Mobile’s Android “L” upgrade available for the entire premium Z series*: including Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. Sony Z Ultra Google Play edition devices will be first up – we’ll be back with more details on that soon.
We’ll start the upgrade at beginning of 2015 for the core Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 series – continuing thereafter for all remaining devices above.
We’ve been working hard to bring this major update to as many of our Z Series devices as we can, as quickly as we can. We’re really excited about the new Sony features & functionality and the improvements we’ve made to the user experience – and we’ll be sharing more soon… so stay tuned to the blog and @SonyMobileNews for all the latest and greatest.
*Software rollouts are a phased process – timings & availability will vary by market/operator. Most models supported but some operator/market exceptions will apply

So what's the problem, mate?
The E3 has a fully grown up OS version. Probably will receive the 4.4 update, just like the dual-sim variant and it will be OK.
I don't understand all the hype surrounding the 5.0 version. Not even all the top-rangers from last year got the update.
They are still launching new models with Kit Kat on board.
Moving on from this point of view I've read a lot of threads regarding both official AND custom builds of 5.0 and in all these threads users are complaining about some serious memory management problems. Putting it clear the RAM management, at this moment, is worse on Lollipop than on Kit Kat. I have a friend with a LG G3, the version with 3GB RAM and after the update he also noticed that the memory management is worse.
So my true and sincere advice is to be happy with a fully optimized OS version than unhappy with a buggy-first-cycle-of-life version of the same OS which you will probably use just the same I have a SGS4, the I9505 version with Snapdragon 600 CPU which is scheduled to receive Lollipop but I'm not in a hurry to install it. Both the I9500 (Exynos) and I9506 (Snapdragon 800) variants of the SGS4 received it already and everyone reports lots of bugs. I'm not saying that Sony is above or bellow Sammy, but the OS is the same so the problems will be the same. And if you wonder what am I doing on this thread let me just say that I bought my father an E3 as a gift So I'm keeping a close eye on it :cyclops:
So don't worry and enjoy the phone because it's a perfect mid-ranger! Cheers and all the best :highfive:
Perfect mid-ranger with only 4GB of internal storage (whilst E4 comes with double that storage at 2/3 of the price of E3 + better front camera)? At least lollilop would solve the internal storage issue to some extend.

I dont,t think if we have ram problem lollypop will be usefull at all.as he told 3gig,s of ram had problem.
Storage is not an issue i have 7gigs of games on my sd with 1 gig free internel storage.
E4 is reallly lost everything from e3 e4 has super small datacable for charging. Fully crap.it,s like sony just reduced quality to make a low price phone. Even micromax had better phone than e4. And yellowness in display is worse thing. Just grab e3 instead of e4.
I reallly love sony for build quality. Which it lost in e4.
Don,t know why but i really think of samsung like micromax and other,s.

Excuse me, but can you name at least 5 apps or games that worked on 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and don't work anymore because of the OS update? And 4.0.4 is how old by now? I quote: "Release to manufacturing: October 19, 2011". Aham! That's like 4 years ago Think you going to keep the E3 for at least 4 years? In fact let me tell you that Xposed doesn't have a stable version on 5.0 yet. And that's a main reason for a lot of people not to upgrade to 5.0.

Every one have their own thinking Bro....all d best
So sad but is not the end!!
:crying: Guys, dont talk so fast!!!
Not necesarily we have bad luck.
Remember guys, there´s an AOSP development for mid and low range 2014 Xperia devices such as: E3, M2, T2 ultra, T3 and C3. That devices may receive lollipop through official or unofficial way after Z series.
I know you are going to say: AOSP is not a requirement for make a final and stable version. But, Why was the reason sony released an AOSP?
http://developer.sonymobile.com/kno...e/open-devices/list-of-devices-and-resources/
http://developer.sonymobile.com/201...ased-2014-xperia-devices-now-supported-video/
Even if is not lollipop for us, we can keep with kitkat, keeping on mind the highest KK stability compared with released 5.0.1 or 5.0.2 lollipop versions.
I know AOSP is bug filled, but some developers are working in that issues. Theres no CM12 stable version for Flamingo (E3) but @freexperia is working at least in LTE E3 devices.
Yesterday, Unofficial Xperia Blog reported some screenshots of Xperia C3 running something like lollipop in chinese market, but it may be fake
http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/03/0...enshots-emerge-could-it-be-landing-after-all/
And also, dont let intimidate by three or four tweets or android related blogs with the bad new. We should wait the official confirmation on Sony Xperia official blog.
BTW: if Sony really dont want update 2014 models and just update Z series and upcoming 2015 models, they will lose market quota. Sony is not good in the mobile market, forget the users and dont listen them can be a mistake for Kazuo Hirai´s company.
And here is the final comment: my next phone will be from motorola or another brand updateable, because Sony, LG, Samsung, Alcatel and others forgot low and mid range devices, thanks to the high fragmentation of the premise "Same but different"
People change its devices each two years, so, we never will get the latest version of android on any device, even if the device has infinite ram, processor and storage! Certainly the true is many people get/buy a low mid range instead a high and expensive flagship
We should support cyanogenmod or develop our android versions for stop programated obsolescence! Look, android versions rolling in the world: 2.3 4.0.X 4.1.X, 4.2.X 4.3.X 4.4X, 5.0.X. This is not fair for users!!! Android is doing bad, they should follow iOS example and keep updated even the legacy devices on all brands!!

screen work (no resume from sleep bug), but no wifi/baseband/camera

[Q] will be released lollipop for D2203?

can it be possible?
Positive signs:
Well, I cannot assure nothing, but could be possible because Sony have an active AOSP development over 2014 Xperias (included E3). The thing here is we need to get official confirmation via blogs.sonymobile.com.
Negative signs:
Keep in mind that AOSP developing is not intended as a direct confirmation of lollipop. Is just for developers and bug chasers.
Positive signs:
For E3, there´s cm12 via free xperia team (FXP, stable and usable without camera) and an AOSP 5.0.2/5.1 filled of bugs to be not used daily (nothing works)
Currently, just mid range devices like Xperia C3 and T2 Ultra are going to taste lollipop officially (previously announced from Sony).
Negative signs:
For E1, E3, M2, M2 Aqua and T3 theres no official confirmation yet. I have serious doubts about E1 and E3 because sony consider them as low end or entry devices, and M2/ M2 Aqua and T3 are considered mid range devices.
Possitive signs:
In addition, E3, M2 and T3 are all hardware capable (1.2 Ghz+ of processor and 1 Gb RAM) to afford lollipop inside. Maybe even E1 can afford it, but i have my doubts due to hardware in it (just 512 Mb RAM).
Comparing our situation with Motorola, Moto E 2014 is closer to xperia E1/E3, Moto G 2013 is closer to Xperia E3 and XperiaM2/M2 aqua is compared to Moto G 2014. So, following that basis and thinking in the fact sony is the only company updating mid range devices at this time, so, in that basis is highly probable we can have lollipop (due to hardware capabilities).
Negative signs:
Now, if you think in Sony new devices, we are in danger to get obsolete. Look at 2015 mid range Xperias confirmed at this date: Xperia E4, E4g and M4 Aqua (maybe they ship with kitkat or lollipop). So, in order to motivate people to buy them, Sony can drop off their intentions to update the E3 and M2 references. You know, programated obsolescence. But theres a temporary relief: this new models are not fully dispersed around the world, and slow distribution can give time to sony guys to release official lollipop (and us) for give shape to cm12 in case of a negative answer from the japanese company.
Also, remember the false promess of sony to update Xperia SP, a 2013 mid range device that was hardware capable to get kitkat or even lolipop inside. That is an important background to keep in mind.
Now, Sony is working "very fast" in order to bring the new android experience for their devices. Soon or later, maybe we can taste lollipop. We should wait patiently until sony announces a good or a bad new for us.
In case sony confirm us positively, remember that D2002/2212 models update first, followed by LTE models (via ota, pc companion or via xperifirm-flashtool)
My final answer for you @Fliopp3rix is: theres uncertain. The answer is not "yes", is not "not", and is not "maybe"
