So I just wanted to check very quickly on the progress made on porting 3DS emulators for android. Around 2 to 3 years ago, people said that android phones weren't powerful enough to have one, but now I believe they may be (I can't be too sure, it's just an assumption).
I basically want to know if it is possible to have a 3DS emulator for android at this point of time.
I'm not asking developers to start working on a 3DS emulator. That's their choice and they can do it whenever they want to.
I'm just asking if such a thing would even be possible.
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. I'd suggest you post your question in the general Android q&a section here:
Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
XDA Assist isn't a general helpdesk area, rather our purpose is to point people who don't know where to post in the right direction. So go ahead and ask your question in the q&a section and hopefully you'll get the answer you're hoping for.
Good luck!

Sorry, I didn't know about that. Thanks a lot.
Quick question, if I want an answer to my query, should I post a new thread in the Q&A section or can this post be moved there? Thanks for your help.
You can go ahead and post a new thread, I'll close this one.
Good luck
Thread closed, thanks.

I am confused as to where requests for assistance should be posted. Do I see a forum -- and a subforum?
We have XDA Assist, which is unlocked to new posts, and then we have Post New Thread, also unlocked and accepting new posts.
I read the documentation for the main forum, and thought I'd post my assistance request there. I only saw there was another area after I posted in the first area.
Or does it make no difference? Sorry, but if this information is already available, somewhere, please give me a link. Couldn't find it!
It depends on your problem. The nature of XDA Assist is to help users in looking for the right place for their issue. For Ex. for your phone, we do not have a Sub Forum Defined. So you'd go to
> Android Development and Hacking
forum. Within it, you can either post in Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting if you have a problem you can't solve. Other wise if its a general discussion on the phone, you can post in Android General
Does that make sense ?

Well ... still confused.
Maybe the threads XDA Assist and Post New Thread, are in fact one and the same?
They seemed to be separate, but perhaps I should take note of the first few posts in each, and see if they're the same?
Anyway, I posted in the XDA Assist thread, and it seems to be working -- I see my other post has one reply.
No one else seems confused, so I guess it's just me. :silly:
Different question from different thread answered, both threads may be closed.
So, I'll go to --
> Android Development and Hacking
and then, since it's not a problem needing troubleshooting but just something general on how Android works (I doubt it's phone specific) I think I'll put it into 'Android General'.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! And the instructions for this forum say the moderator will close the thread when the advice has been given, so please feel free to do so, now.
Hi,
My Daughter has lost her passcode for her tablet, there is not a specific thread for this tablet, could you tell me which thread would be best to ask for help in?
I am guessing it is simply a factory reset required.
There is an external reset button, but it doesn't seem to do what it says on the tin.
There is also an external off/on, and a home button.
Phil
Hi,
I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your device and issue, so you can ask for help here..
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!

Hi Darth,
Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Sods law came into force and I found the answer to question else where.
I have posted the answer to my problem here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...cheerful-android-tablet-t2965719#post57333348
In case it is of help to anyone else.
I don't know if there is somewhere to put it on the site as a sticky, so that it can be found more easily in future?
regards
Phil

Awesome! ?
About the sticky, very few threads are stickied... And certainly won't happen for a less popular device. But a search on it should find your thread just fine!
Thanks for contributing! That's what XDA is all about. ?

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
That's not a silly question at all but unfortunately I'm not aware of any version of the Android SDK Tools compiled to run under Android. However, since there are Linux versions, it's theoretically feasible. Your post count might still be too low to allow you to post in the Development areas but I suggest your ask your question with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help where the experts might be able to advise you.
Good Luck!
Hi, basically the problem is when I go to settings there is no option called "users". when I swipe down there is no user avatar. by the way android lollipop is the software version. I was watching a review on YouTube, there they had the option. but I don't. anyone knows why?

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
We cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist and there is no forum specifically for the "A" Series at this time but I suggest that you ask your question with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help or one of the Galaxy Tab Forums from the list at http://forum.xda-developers.com/compact. Those are good places to start where members familiar with your device might be able to advise you.
Good luck!

I have a few questions regarding a specific device, and I'm not quite sure where here on XDA to ask them.
** Info on the device I'm looking for information on, and my current findings:
he Samsung Galaxy J3 through Virgin Mobile. I saw the J5 and J7 but haven't seen anything about the J3. It says it came out this year, so perhaps there isn't yet a dedicated section to it. I would like to know where I should ask questions about this device, if possible, as I'm considering upgrading to it from my HTC Desire 510 (currently rooted, thanks to XDA and a friend of mine helping me learn along the way) and as I want to make sure I can root my next phone (without having to shell out $400 for a galaxy s5) it's part of my research to see if there is support here, on XDA.
I apologize if this isn't the proper forum to place this question, I'm very, very much a noob regarding forum etiquette in general. Point me in the right direction and off I'll fly!
