Galaxy S6 or Galaxy Note 5

I am really loving the design language Samsung is using with the new Galaxy S6/ Edge. It looks real premium. My question to you is would you buy the Galaxy S6/ Edge or wait for the Note 5? I should mention i am currently a Note 3 user.

I think the question comes down to screen size and s-pen. If you want a larger screen and/or S-Pen, stick with the Note series. If you prefer a 5" screen and aren't interested in S-Pen features, then the S6 might be the better device.
Tough to say what the Note 5 will bring. If it continues to to have things like a micro SD card or removable battery, that may also factor in as well but nobody knows yet.

Well, like every year the Note 5 will have the better overall specs. Question is whether you want to wait 6 months for it or not?

I'd say go for the S6 if you are on a last gen phone from 2014 (so anything earlier than Note 4). Otherwise I'd suggest waiting for the Note 5. The S6 is shaping up to be pretty darn good, and I can assure you the VR capabilities are going to be great (just like they are on the Note 4).

Besides the lack of sd slot and removable battery id take the note just cause the s6 screen is so tiny lol

Seeing the gorgeous job they've done with materials here, I'm sticking with the Note 5 and looking for design sans the changes to Card and Battery. Size and stylus win.

S6.
I hate tablets, phablets, and other things generally ending with "ablet" haha.

Depends on what you want? Personally I absolutely adore my Note 4 it's a productivity beast. So no doubt in my mind that the Note 5 will be one too.
If you value:
- s pen functionality (it's like a small mouse)
- top of the top specs
- removable batteries
- expendable storage
And maybe the first 4k display I'd say wait for the Note. Also I hope Samsung's new philosophy doesn't make it to the Note series because a closed down device isn't a productivity one.
If you want a smaller form factor with limited storage space, questionable development support but top specs try the s6 and see if you like it.

Hopefully Samsung doesn't follow suit with the S6 and downgrade the Note 5. I'm still rockin' my Note 2 at the moment, but if the Note 5 downgrades to 1990's technology with no expandable storage, I'll seek a more appropriate brand.

Two different phones targeting two different demographics. Besides which, I don't know how many people "upgrade" their phones twice a year. Go with the consideration of screen size + S-pen usage as others have suggested. The two are not very comparable in my opinion.

But Samsung seems to have run out of steam and have opted to downgrade their phones and no longer pursue technological advancements. I fear the Note 5 may end up losing the stylus, drop down to a 3" non-touchscreen running a fancy Android iOS.

Note 5 brings 8 MP front camera.. already samsung started of its mass production..

If you consider the S6 a downgrade over the S5, then you might want to reevaluate your expectations. Being overly dramatic doesn't really add to the discussion.

It's a serious downgrade in functionality. Samsung for some reason has become blazingly desperate to be just like Apple now. It's too bad that they feel that if they can't beat the competition, then to join them.

I would agree with them pushing to be more apple like...taking away 2 key features on a device and jacking up the price to boot is totally apple lol.
Offer less...charge more. And the masses are so stupid they wont think anything of it sadly.apples doesn't have great sales because the public is intelligent.

It sounds like everyone should take a couple of deep breaths and calm down!
As I recall, laptops don't come with cd roms anymore, not only that, but someone told me, hold on to your seats, desktops no longer come with 3.5 inch floppy drives! No kidding, I'm totally serious!
So much for progress!

Your references to laptops and PC's doesn't make any sense. Those references are removing obsolete storage mediums and replaced with new high capacity ones. And PCs and laptops are fully expandable. A more suitable comparison would be if Nasa were to replace launch rockets with a paper airplane. That's what Samsung has done.

I think I can fix that for you! You almost understand, removing obsolete storage mediums and replaced with new high SPEED ones! There you've got it! In addition to slow, SD cards are a huge security issue, and somewhat incompatible with Android. I always bought Samsung SD cards before for my phone, I'll be happy to pay (extra) for sweet, high speed, internal, DDR4 RAM!!
SD cards are obsolete for these phones!

Currently, i have the Tmobile note 4. i want to buy a note 5 but no removable battery, no SD card slot, no Samsung pay if you are rooted, who here is not gonna root their phone? to me this is just an iphone with a better everything, tell me how you think. am i the only one who thinks this is the one of the worse Samsung phone releases?

Your opinion of it being "worse" is subjective, more in favor of it being not true for most users. This is not like a better iPhone, rather an iPhone is trying to be like it. Don't forget who created / invented the phablet category. It's Samsung, not Apple.
Regardless, the Note 5 is from a hardware stand point an upgrade. That's not a perception nor is it minor. You can't argue the CPU. The SnapDragon 805 in the Note 4 isn't a slouch, but it is at the same time no where in the same league as the Exynos Octa Core. Not even in the same conversation. 1GB of extra RAM may not seem like much, but it's still an upgrade. The Note 3 had 3GB and guess what so does the Note 4. Overall build quality is undeniably better. The Note 5 has better hardware period. = It's an upgrade.
There is no need to justify anything hardware wise by choosing to think that they're minor upgrades when they are not. The Exynos Octa Core CPU alone is worthy of praise to call the Note 5 an upgrade just from that alone. Even if it only came with 3GB and same "everything" else. The issue here is obviously the software and for most on here the inability to remove the battery or having a SD card slot is the culprit. Not the core hardware.
The price tag is also subjective, because for some ~$1000 or not, it's not an issue. Most people pay monthly with a JUMP upgrade from TM, not all up front. Zero down. Zero Interest.
What kills the Note 5 for me is purely the software as LP is becoming more and more locked down with each version.
Storage Solution?
128GB would be plenty + Unlimited Cloud. Airplane? Boonies? Micro USB to USB 3.0 OTG cable for about $1.50 with my 256GB Flash stick. I can't justify the idea of not being able to fit all the movies that I could possibly watch on the 128GB for my usual 5.5-6 hour flight? Even if you were flying from L.A. to London, you'd be able to watch only 6-8 movies and I don't think 128GB (less what the system eats up) is too small for that. That goes for music too....ACC, FLAC or not....if it can go on a microSD it can fit on a regular USB. 3.0 Flash Stick. The point is I think we're making it out to be a bigger issue than it really is. Plugging in an OTG adapter is much faster and easier than taking a case off (for those with cases), popping off the cover, and replacing a microSD. For the nit pickers, yes, wear and tear too. (Which I don't even think about....)

My 12,000mAh portable battery bank. Although it's 3000mAh, you also have to factor in efficiency. Bigger is not always better. But then again, this all depends on the software.... The whole time I've had my Note 4, I've never had to swap batteries...it's not really an issue, especially if the software allows for it to be more efficient.

great points, i am not saying that the note 4 is better than the note 5. in my opinion i think the note 4 is better for me, ill wait until i test the note 5 maybe i will change my mind, but to be honest right now from what i seen of the note 5 will not work for me. the battery life is a big problem with my note 4, most people will just look at the smaller battery and say the battery life is worse than the note 4, but thats false because of the new CPU.

Indeed. The Note 5 feels very premium and it is noticeably lighter in the hands. I personally like the ergonomics of it much better with the curved glass back. Some of the things that I've noticed right away from an outside perspective is that the speaker is much better too. It has much more integrity than the Note 4 and seems to be able to handle higher volumes without sounding tinny or metallic.
The screen, although the same resolution as our Note 4, is much crisper and brighter. It has more of a cool tone (kelvin temp) whereas our Note 4 is a lot warmer and is more yellowish. I prefer the Note 5 screen for sure.
We'll have to wait and see for how well the battery holds up! But then again...it's all in the software so LP just might ruin it for what it could due with a much better custom ROM.

Tried to order the 64gb version but T-Mobile somehow screwed up my account. The only thing I could jump to are some cheesy tablets! Hope they fix this soon!

Here are some pics that I've taken with my Note 4 of the Note 5. Notice how strongly they are pushing the hardware LOL.....which is undeniably better, but lets just hope Lollipop doesn't screw it up.

I thought that I was the only one with that problem. I click upgrade device I get taken to page with tablets, wifi hotspots and the
Gear S (which I already have ironically). Sometimes the upgrade option takes me to a page with phones but if I try to add one the page errors out with "our systems are currently unavailable please try again".

I agree. M is our only hope. If Google doesn't get their act together, a lot of the phone companies might go elsewhere. Samsung's own OS (Tizen) looks promising. Open source too.

i cant really use anything but touchwiz because i bought the Gear 2
P.S. not a very good idea. its an amazing watch but i cant use it with CM witch is way better than touchwiz.
P.P.S my S4 has better battery life with the more usage and screen on time. my note 4 doesnt even last till 1 pm, i go to work at 7 am. thats really sad, but you know note 4 has a bigger screen and other stuff that will use more battery but it also has a bigger battery so there is not excuse.

Tizen is open source? huh i didnt know that, that makes it 10x better in my eyes. i will have to do more research on M but google is very secretive of everything they do

I get 5 hours of screen time on average with my Note 4. It's your software buddy. You should look into the ROM I'm using. PM me if you need help. (See my signature for some info.)
But I hear ya. ..I personally like TW and it works as well if not better than CM with the ROM I'm on.

i'll happily try it because with the battery life im getting right now (like 2-3 hours screen on time) i dont mind going back to kitkat for better battery life.
im having problems with random reboots and bootloops for awhile, even though it worked perfectly fine
i think its the battery, im gonna order a battery from amazon and see ill just use my S4 for now

I have been playing with android M, even though smoother, it is nothing to do jumping jacks for...Android Marshmellow is what Lollipop should have been and should have been the final milestone for lollipop. Lollipop 5.2 maybe?
You will sadly...be disappointed if you are hoping for a big kapow to blow lollipop out of the water.

Dude my coworkers are mad at me because they had to deal with my disappointment lol. Glad to know it wasn't just me.....hang in there I talked to like 3 T-Mobile supervisors and they are working on it. One asked how can we make you a happy T-Mobile customer? My reply, "give it to me free"! Hahahaha!

Yup. There is a very bright future for Tizen. We shall see soon as it might show up as early as next year in selected devices.

I bought it because I'm attracted to shiny objects. I'm pretty happy with my year-old LG G3, but when I saw the Note 5 in the store, the display simply dazzled me! Also wanted a phone with a great fingerprint sensor, because I'm sick of my phone waking up in my pocket and doing sh!t by itself, but I hate having to do some kind of unlock dance.
I'm a bit irked by not being able to replace the battery, but honestly haven't had to use a second battery since my Galaxy Nexus, several phones ago.

I'm getting it because it feels so much better in the hand than the Note 4, and the performance improvements in hardware are nothing to ignore. I've never really cared all that much about a replaceable battery. The MicroSD situation does irk me a bit, but you have to adapt to the times. I think someday there will be no phones with the slot, and I think I'm OK with that. Between the available storage on board (I'm getting 64GB) and the cloud, it's not really as much of an issue as it used to be.
Also, as I age, I find I'm caring less about root. I do less and less with it every year, and now that I don't even really use TiBu anymore, there's really no point. I just want a fast phone that works with my apps. Note5 fits the bill, and it's sexier than my Note4.

Simple Answers ......... I have had Every Samsung Galaxy and Note devices. The Note 4 is a very nice device.
The Note 5 is 20% faster CPU
Better Software
Better Battery life
Better Camera, Same as the S6 .... The S6 Camera is the 1st decent performing camera on a Samsung devices. So, Those are the Plus's
....... I do not use Pay on my phone so I really do not care about that
The "no sd card" is a bit of a drag but I have a external Memory mini flash that I can use so not such an issue
The Closed battery........ Yeah that bothers me more, but the worst is the glass back.......... looks awesome but is way more vulnerable to breaking, that concerns me
Should have released with 64 gig standard and 128 option, then it would be more palatable...... definitely worth getting
But, either way, Getting mine tomorrow night..........

Im a hard user of phablet, been since note 3, now using note 4. To be honest, all the "issues" pointed here are not such a big deal, a friend of mine, who's Apple hard core user, says that Samsung at last are doing what Apple been doing for years, having one memory internally will make the data transfer faster instead of trying to find it on both, internal and external, it will make the phone faster and finally the OS will work with no lag.
Design on note 5 is beautiful, very premium, internal hardware is a big plus with octacore and 4gb of ram, awesome camera, better software.
Since I have been using smart phones, I have never ever replaced the battery, never care, didn't actually thought about it, I have always had the access to charge it and carry my charges wherever I go, now, the note 5 with fast wireless charger, is a big plus, I was in new york a week ago and I saw in all the Starbucks the wireless charger on the tables, I hope they can have it all over the place, Im pretty sure soon all Starbucks will have it.
Honestly, external memory and battery are not big issues for me, I record bunch of videos and I use the phone for tethering, games, videos more than a regular person and note 5 will be a great upgrade. I have a 32gb note 4 and 16gb external, my internal memory is not even half full, external have a couple of movies.

Its all the same, nevertheless. I find nexus 6P more elegant and unique, thus the reason buying it because theres so many people with samsung devices, even low class people which just filters out its uniqueness and its price tag making it look worthless outside. What are your opinions? If your on Samsung S6/Edge/+, would you have the need to upgrade to an device such as Samsung S7?

I've posted an explanation as to what low class in this instance means. forgive me if it had you in any way, i was never trying to make any of you owners sad, its just that for so many, they have this phone and it just gets rid of its status 'elegant'. Elegant is ment to be beautiful, stylish. But when everyone has this 'elegant' phone, where does the definition exist of being stylish?

I love the samsung edge because its invention of curve screen. I've even had friends give them to me to try for an hour or so. The thing is that, i don't like people having the same phone as me. I was about to get the nexus 5x but one of my friends got it, so i went ahead with nexus 6p. But that doesnt mean that i would get another new phone if someone else has the same phone as me because that would be regarded as wasting money.

I got my Galaxy S phone to be different from everybody else.
Then I got my Galaxy S4/S5 because they were simply the best.
Samsung is neither unique or the best anymore so...

Nexus6p stands strong in Android market . I hope Samsung won't compete to beat n6P with bloatware and bla bla. Hail nexus6p

After living with the LG G4 for a couple weeks, I'll be sticking with Samsung, if for no other reason that I FAR prefer the Home/capacative buttons that Samsung offers compared to the on screen buttons that all the other major makers use. Plus, I like Samsung's screens the best, & they are always at or near the top in camera, performance, etc. Custom ROMs take care of the bloat. Now, Samsung isn't perfect, & I am very disappointed by their removal of SD & replaceable battery, which is why I'm still hanging in there with my S4, which I had planned to replace with the S6. It looks like the SD is coming back, which will be probably be enough for me to go with the S7. If the S7 had replaceable battery, it would be a slam dunk for me. Despite the G4 having those features, it's size & button arrangement (including the power & volume) made it an overall less preferable unit to me than my aging S4.

I agree with the OP, my next device will be a Nexus one.

Not going to upgrade/downgrade from the note 4. But it will interesting to see if Samsung has learned something and if they will put the removable battery and a micro sd card back into their phones.
But yeah real buttons will always beat out in screen ones

You sound pretentious and terrible. Just because a company sells their product successfully does not make them worse. They're still using top of the line, listening to consumers by reinstating the microSD slot. You're not special because you have money to buy better products. Like most phones, upgrading every year isn't very appealing because there's only so much that can be improved. I wouldn't upgrade from a Galaxy S6. But I certainly will from my S5 Sport!

I agree with some of you, I don't seen the point of upgrading every year, there isn't a big enough difference between each years models. I don't mind iPhone once they are jailbroken, I have an iPhone 4 that has been through hell and back with me and still kicking. I have been through a kyocera slide I got stuck in boot loop and bricked a HTC desire. Now have an LG G3 that I love and haven't had any problems. If your going from a device that that is a couple models older and is going obsolete then upgrade, but most of us don't have the money laying around to to by a new phone every year.
Have they even set a release date for the Galaxy D7 yet?

I dunno if this is going to be breaking news to you, but with contract subsidies and pricing offers and various discounts, even the most expensive of smartphones are a relatively cheap luxury item. With the modern reliance on cellphones, and mobile data, of course having a good phone is going to be something most people will spend a few extra dollars on. Is it really a newsflash that people want the best? Or did you not consider that most people are flocking to the Galaxy series, and the iPhone lineup, because they have a longstanding legacy of being two of the best, powerhouse smartphones available.
Furthermore.. elegance? Really? They're phones, not watches. They're consumption devices that have increasingly more and more uses.. not just little gadgets people get, to show off how rich or awesome they are. Only the geekiest of the geeks have a nerdgasm about how much more elegant their phone is than the average person. The rest of us standard model geeks would rather just enjoy our phones as the tools that they are, and try to find the one that works best for us.

Ehh, I just picked up my fourth rooted Galaxy S3 off Swappa. Still clinging to that antique, cliche phone.. with it's plastic case and inelegant awesomeness that made it the only phone anyone wanted of it's generation.

I currently own a Galaxy S5 Sport. Great phone, but the first thing I did was flash CM12.1, waiting for CM13. Touchwiz is a piece of ****. Samsung phones are so much better than one would think if you get rid of the garbage stock ROM. I'm not just speaking aesthetically, the performance is atrocious. It's so smooth and never hangs up now, also doesn't force close when trying to do something intensive and the RAM management is much better!

Totally agree. I also had a SGS5 before I exchanged it with the OnePlus Two. I tried a lot of different Rom's. The very best I flashed on it was AICP. I was very satisfied with that Rom. Maybe you will try it out. :thumbup:

S7 Edge migration to Pixel XL ?

I only owned 1 nexus before due to the simple reason they were not playing on the stronger league of hardware, despite the fact being updated often it was still not enough to convince me to go back to mid-range cell phones... I guess not time has come to say goodbye to samsung, their crappy bloatware and let go the edge (that in reality has few use from me, it's there...so I can swipe it...once a week for the news that I recive a notification anyway )
So most certainly gonna move to the new google phones and leave samsung to eat their own filth regarding their policies and bloatware after a few generations that I had... s3, s4, s6 and s7. Time to a new game...

I agree on most of the above points for reasons to move away from Sammy to Google's new phones if they deliver.
I am however waiting for my S7E to be delivered... I use the Note 3, which is still amazing to this day thanks to the xda and other dev communities. I've tried moving away to LG V10, which had awesome camera, apart from which my Note 3 beat it in every other way (performance and battery life being the major ones).
Thrilled to get my hands on the S7E and flash away....... Let's see how long it lasts (hoping the screen is not that fragile).
But ultimately Google's Pixel phone should be a killer, I am especially excited to check the camera (it appears to be the only real reason to upgrade the phone for me currently) so I will most likely switch to Google camp
Otherwise OnePlus3 is a decent phone for half the price...

That's the general consensus I've been reading since yesterday. Who in their right mind would pay 760€ - 1000€ for either of the Pixel phones with their only outstanding feature being Daydream? Yeah, there are timely updates and a complete "Google experience" but the average consumer doesn't care about these things. Google doesn't hit it. A. In that price range, you have devices that can do way more, and are better equipped, e.g. water resistance, no headphone jack, S-Pen etc. Something the Pixel phones don't offer and B. the things the Pixel phones offer you can easily have on a OnePlus 3 or many other 300€ - 400€ devices.
Besides, these things being non-Nexus devices, I can imagine Google implementing a feature similar to an irreversible flash counter like the KNOX FLAG.
But fear not! The Nexus line is not dead. The Pixel phones are just a distraction. At least, according to Stephen Hall from 9to5 Google.

I'm thinking about it, mainly because of the battery life. No matter what I do, this phone sucks on battery life. I'm going to wait and see what the reports are though before I jump in and order one.

Mmmmmm the only phone that can make me think of replacing my s7e with is Note 7. Been using note 4 before and I miss it...
Google phone is too expensive for having nothing really better but the cam... only few apps that I wont use like the new google now.

No way, the pixel is far to expensive.
I can't see any advantage over the S7e except the slightly faster Updates.
Over the last years Samsung has improved the Update-cycle to an really good level so i can live with it.
I wouldn't give up the excellent Battery, the waterresistance and the SD-Card for the Pixel...

Well, maybe I'm too long on samsung galaxys and just wanna move... I went trough all the headaches, knox ****, the harder ways to personalize the phone...
At the moment the truth is that I cannot complain about the s7 edge, however this is due to long headaches... I have 120 apps/services frozen. Most is samsung junk... google now didn't make sense to me, I was avoid some battery draining not using it,until I realized that the voice is too handy while I'm driving to put reminders, notes or ask for stuff which just made things little smoother specially when Im driving.
And I have a rooted phone, with xposed and now even the systemless is giving headaches.. so it's a choice of using flashfire or systemless and i'm simply fed up of all the around and arounds each time I wanna mod the phone. Ofc this is not a phone for the whole market... but for me just having updates a a more functional way to modify/root/xposed the phone the better.
I can be wrong... ANd I agree that samsung got way better with the battery draining and updates, but still because I rely a lot on frozen and modified stuff.
Nougat already out and we can sit and wait until january for that samsung test it, fill it up with their junk and release it to the s7. yes because now s8 is on the way so their aim is to release s8 with nougat... which is been typical from samsung lately, hold the updates and then release a new model already with the update leaving the older users waiting. still better than before though...

I was going to move from my S7e to the Pixel XL but I decided to wait for the S8. One of the things that made me want a Pixel was the 128gb storage capacity. Why don't Samsung come in larger capacities? This honestly really frustrates me because even with expandable SD it's still not having the same as a huge internal storage. Why can't they copy apple and have 128gb, 256gb? I love my S7e but I'd be more loyal to my phone if it had a larger internal capacity. So far, more than happy with my rooted S7e!

The Pixel does nothing for me AT ALL.
It's disgustingly expensive. It has no wireless charging, no removable storage, looks incredibly bland and boring, has nothing new at all. It brings nothing new to the table. I simply can't see any reason why anyone would switch. Except if they were a diehard plain vanilla stock Android fan.
And I don't care if they get updates quicker.

You should see the loathing idiots putting so much emphasis on GA being a huge differentiator, a decisive motivator to overpay for a Pixel on other sites.

Probably not the end of the Note series. Don't expect to see one in 2022 though. Samsung has always been goofy... this year has been a disaster for Samsung and the Android OS.
Between Samsung and Google dropping the ball, I said screw this and will be getting my second new 10+ N975U tomorrow. Zero learning curve means I get to have fun with it instead of troubleshooting it.
In my opinion Pie and the 10+ are still the zenith of both Android and the Samsung Note series.
Fast, drop dead gorgeous, rock solid stable with very little maintenance. So far I have replaced the battery on my heavy used current 10+ and the OS load is over a year old. 8-12 hours of SOT.
The build quality on the 10+ is excellent; it still looks and runs like new.

I saw it done and learned from that. Not that hard if you know how to do it and take your time.
You need the battery, OEM rear cover seal, various picks, drivers, heat plate or gun, anhydrous isopropyl alcohol/syringe.

Cannot say whether it is really dead or not. Samsung has been diminishing the series with various features being implemented into the Galaxy series.
I may not use it much, but I like have the S-pen integrated in the phone. I use cheap cases with my Notes, that do not have external slots for the pen.
My biggest issue is the recent lost of the micro SD card slot. Forever reason, my cell service carrier does not offer multiple memory options; usually the smallest. I also did not like when removable batteries were lost. People keep buying them nonetheless.
I think the Note may be a victim of too many versions. The Series has everything the Note does, except the S-pen bay. Some slight difference is shape. They also offer more affordable models that work for my others with less features than the Note or Series. My guess is that the Note was not hitting sales targets well enough.
It's possible they may create a new model series that replaces the Note. May offer a Series version that does include the things that made Note popular.

I'm obsessed right now with getting TMB csc on my N20 Ultra. Its not working . Trying to get help in multiple threads. I might just return it as I bought it this week and have not sent in my s20 trade in yet. I think they blocked it.

I don't disagree with you. When S series was originally released, it was a powerful phone like the Note, but was a little smaller and no S-pen. There would were other differences, but it was more because hardware had advanced. When Samsung started doing to multiple versions of S-series and Note, it basically diminished both.
As someone who's been using a Note since the Note 2, I admitted to being biased. I do not have a really an issue with having an S pen usable on a S-series phone. But Samsung made it an accessory to buy. I think that's kind of nickle and dime kind of thing out of the customers.
If Samsung made the "Note" the S-series Ultra with a pen slot and pin. I'd be ok with it.
On a side note, I really hope they bring back sd card slot. I also hope they'll bring back magnetic secure transmission (MST). I use it a lot. Between that and NFC, I rarely need to use my physical credit card. At some point, almost all stores will use some kind of NFC, but the USA is nowhere near it yet.
Personally, I hope they don't make the Z-fold their main flagship and decided to put the S-pen with it. I think the phone is pretty cool and interesting, but I really don't want a phone like that. I see the folding as a risk for breakage. I rather have a large candy bar.
For now, I'll keep using the Note 20 Ultra. Not sure what I'll do with the battery goes bad or my lease ends. I may buy the phone. Who knows what Samsung will have going when either of those situations occur.

I'm a bit obsessed now too because my new 10+ came today loaded with Android 10 rather than 9.
What should have been a easy seamless switch going between them is now a lame tap dance.
I was looking at the N20 U's and see how your problem could easily happen. Too many variants and the sellers are deliberately not posting full specs. One of the reasons I rejected the 20U.
I know where you can pick up a new 10+ N975U1 for $800 free 2 day shipping stateside. Lol, it's going to be running on Android 10 though. No connection issues; my AT&T sim card brought it straight online.
Many sellers are doing screwball things with the 10+'s too.
Meh... I would send the 20U back for a full refund. There may be more rude surprises.

Exactly , the S22 Standard, FE (if there is one) and Plus should not have S-Pen, but if just the Ultra had it and had a slot it would be king of the castle.
I agree about the Fold3 , it also does not have a slot.
Unfortunately I don't think microSD slot is coming back, its gone the way of the IR Blaster I miss from the s6

I agree about the SD card slot. All the more reason to get people to buy/subscribe into cloud storage systems.
I forgot about the IR blaster. I did not use it much on my Note4, but I did like it. That could still be useful today. Many media appliances have some kind of app or internet interface, so it's usefulness becomes more diminished by the year.

Samsung is feeling the heat. 2021 is a bust for Samsung as far as phone sales go.
They have no one to blame but themselves.
With no SD card slot the phone is dead to me.
I'm adding a 1tb v30 card to my second N10+.
I can fill that, no problem as I actually need 2-3tb of data storage. Even 500gb of internal storage barely meets my minimum needs.
May take a year or two but Samsung will likely bring the SD card slot back as has happen so many times in the past. Cloud storage is no substitute for onboard memory; it wastes battery and bandwidth.
Samsung's ineptness has cost them at least one newly released flagship phone with me, probably two or more by the time it's all said and done.
I can do fine for at least 2-3 more years running the 10+'s.

221gb in wav files alone, lol my CD/HDCD collection in my pocket. My photos are around 1+tb. Data files are around 100gb.
Movies are still the minority simply because I haven't ripped them to hdd.
As far as I'm concerned you can never have enough backup copies...
My actual 10+ app load is deliberately light. Zero social media apps. .
