So the issue is as fallows after the S5 was updated to Lollipop; when hot spot is on it gives an IP address to devices but no Internet connection. The normal data on the device itself works normally. i have re-flashed it with re-write and no rewrite i haven't yet rooted as i preferred not to .I have also done alot of things in the data connection areas. Changing from CDMA/LTE to Global and so on . So i am at a cross roads any input will be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, I recently unlocked and rooted my Infuse 4G from ATT
Im currently living in Panama and using CLARO, I got the correct APN settings,and everything, and the internet works.. "Sometimes" I have gone to the store to obtain help incase it was something on their network, but there is nothing wrong with the network, Next I tied Replacing my sim into my friend who just got the Galaxy S 2, And it worked fine.
The problem In my case seems to be That I cannot maintain a stable Data Connection, It keeps dropping and activating back randomly, if I reboot the phone it will bring data back to it 75% of the time.. but only for a short period.. maybe 5-10 mins at most, then it disappears again.
Im just wondering if anyone that is using the Infuse 4g in a foreign country has or is experiencing a similar issue, or if anyone can explain why this is happening and if there is a way to fix it.
Im waiting for Infused to come back up to put gingerbread on the phone and hopefully fix this issue.. but I fear it will require more.
To answer my own question I found a solution and testing a second

Solution#1 to get Infuse 4G DATA working on Claro Network Panama:
Goto phone type *#*#197328640#*#*
Goto Debug-->PHONE CONTROL-->NETWORK CONTROL-->BAND SELECTION-->GSM BANDS-->GSM 1900-->Toggle Soft Key-->back-->toggle soft key-->END
This will give you a stable EDGE connection on the Infuse 4G
I will post a possible 3G fix after I have tested the setting for more than a day.
OK so Im pretty confident I got the 3G working now, if you experience this issue of losing Data on the network in other foreign countries to USA/CANADA this might help you out aswell.

So again goto phone dial *#*#197328640#*#*
Goto DEBUG SCREEN-->PHONE CONTROL-->HSPA CAT CONTROL-->HSDPA DISABLE-->Toggle soft key-->Back-->toggle soft key-->END
If you followed my steps to gain access to EDGE you must do this also
DEBUG SCREEN--> PHONE CONTROL --> NETWORK CONTROL -->BAND SELECTION --> AUTOMATIC --> TOGGLE SOFT KEY --> BACK--> TOGGLE SOFT KEY --> END
so that you can access the other bands for 3G

With these settings applied.
The other way around this is if you install the Infused ROM it'll give you the option to manually lock to the network. The AT&T ROM has ATT roaming partner preference built in... super annoying, but is what it is. I had issues where putting in a foreign SIM I could only attach to networks AT&T had roaming agreeements with even though it wasn't an ATT sim and the non-ATT stock ROM solved it for me.
I saw network locking also in the debug menu, is that what you are talking about?
I cannot find any network locking within the normal menus.. if there is could you guide me to it please.
well I tried the lock via the debug menu.. and did not work when I enabled HSDPA.. maybe the issue isnt a foreign carrier issue or combination of a foreign carrier or just the fact that its a carrier that offer 4G but only on contract.
I was speaking to a friend last night, and he said when he was in the US he was experiencing a similar problem with ATT and the people at ATT said the phone will experience these issues on networks that have the ability of 4G or the HSDPA+ higher speeds since we know that its not real 4G.. so the phone attempts to connect or do whatever it does to obtain those higher speeds of HSDPA+, but is being refused by the network because you need to be on contract or have it enabled.. which then in turn causes it to disconnect all together from the data network.
So it made sense to disable to the HSDPA in the scenario.. I might add that by doing this on CLARO you do not get the full 3G experience its slower from about 2Mbit down to .50 Mbit but its still better than edge. and the HSUPA works fine with a 2Mbit Upload.
Im going to obtain a contracted SIM today with 4G enabled.. and remove all the steps I listed above to confirm that this is actually case.
I will post my results when I get the chip.
Hi, I have the Wifi + 3G version of the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5110 and experiencing problems with the signal changing.
I connect to a website called Salesforce and whenever I input data my connection drops, I have noticed at the top the signal is constantly changing between 3G, H and H+ every 3 seconds. When connecting to this website through Wifi I have no problem.
I have changed options to just use 3G only but this still switches between the 3 network variances.
I have tried putting another web browser onto the tab and this had no effect.
I have double checked and triple checked the APN settings, deleted APNs, created new APNs and no luck.
I have also contacted my mobile data provider to see if they and just give me 3g access and no H or H+ but thats impossible on there side of things.
I currently have samsung stock 4.0.4 android software installed on the tablet.
Any ideas on what I can do to resolve this issue with the signal switching all the time?
This happened with me when i was in a place with bad coverage or inside a building. It cant maintain a stable connection so it switches to another.
When i got out of the building or moved to a place with better coverage the connection became stable at H+.

Also, if your tab is not locked to a provider try another provider.
I have got a Samsung Galxy S3 Neo(GT 19301I) from Dubai as a gift and since I am a residential of India,I couldn't access the network because of country lock.I took it to a Samsung Service Centre,they said though it is not done genuinely by their engineers,but he could individually give a try wih his souces to unlock the country lock.It also got unlocked(rooted) but a problem still persisted.I got a sim into it and accessed the network.There was no problem in the connection.I accessed the internet and there was the main problem.My network mode was set to GSM/WCDMA, so I got a internet connection of edge.The arrows of internet had some problem.So I gave a try to switch my network mode to WCDMA only and got a HSPA connection.My internet had worked great on HSPA connection.Now there is a problem with the 3G connection in my area so my network does not provide me any connection on WCDMA mode and so I had to move to Auto mode.Now the problem is that I cannot access interent with EDGE mode.The arrows get highlighted but I don't get any service in surfing or chatting.I am not able to understand whats the problem with my EDGE mode???It doesn't give me any internet outgoing and incoming.

I have a samsung galaxy s6(sm-G920F) on 5.1.1 non rooted, the problem i am facing is that the lte stopped working without any reason, i didnt drop it neither i updated anything it just stopped working now i only see the E sign on the network bar, i couldn't find any answer for this so any help is appreciated

You said your rom is not rooted? That probably means the default network settings for your phone is LTE/3G/2G. That option will look for the best signal you have in your current location, then it will choose that data network i.e., EDGE .
It seems like your 4g/LTE signal is weak on your vicinity Perhaps, if you could force LTE (by rooting and installing Advance Signal Status app from Playstore [Device Info >Set Preferred Network Type > LTE only) you can have at least lte reception. Unless, 4g is not available in your area
Try going outside your house, and find open spot and see if your device was able to detect it.
Just let me know if you still have some concerns. Cheers!

So it cant be the problem with the reception
& one of my friend uses the same simcard as mine
But he's able to use lte
I have tried the WCDMA only option
But cant get the lte sign
Please help me :/

Same problem for me. Same galaxy s6 model and same original android version 5.1.1 (g920fxxu3q0kn)
From a couple of days it doesn't connect on lte. But the big problem is that if I choose lte/3g/2g it doesn't connect neither in 3g. I have to force it to 3g only to let the device connect back to internet.
I don't know why but when I came back home, if I switch back on lte/3g/2g, it connect back again on 3g (no lte in my home area)
I'm not sure if it is involved with transit in/out wifi spot or some kind of lte cells. I will try other tests next days

Please i need help on how to solve this nagging problem.
I have a techno p5+, the problem with the phone is that it keeps loosing Internet (pls not radio network) network all the time.
When this happen, I will still have access to radio network (that is, the phone radio network will still be there, sometimes with full bar but the problem is that I will not be able to access an Internet network on the phone. I will not be able to get even 2g or 3g (hspa+) on it until I restores or refreshes the network APN.
The only way I solves this problem is that I will go to settings and click on access point names (APN) then I will RESET it.
This problem has frustrated me to the extent that I find it difficult to download or update my phone apps because the moment I does that, it will keep doing this over and over...
Please, any geek in the house with a good understanding of the problem should pls help me.
