[Q] Please need help from someone who's flashed ftf of previous version.(23.0.A.2.93) - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

im trying to flash ftf 23.0.A.2.93 version using flashtool.... this is what is happening.
1- i have d6603 version, downloaded 23.0.A.2.93 version.
2-installed drivers of z3, drivers from flashmode driver folder.
3- i run flashtool, select the ftf, then i turn off my phone, press volume button up and plug in device, then flashtool after a while says to turn off the device and plug it back in by pressing back button (where i have tried pressing volume up button and plugged in flash aborted/ second time pressed volume down button and plugged in and flash aborted)
what am i doing wrong or what should be done instead???
im gonna need to go back to 23.0.A.2.93 version and then unlock bootloader than root then install recovery and then restore drm keys....i could use some help.

Unrelated to your question. But do not unlock the bootloader. The whole reason to downgrade to .93 is to be able to use an exploit so you won't have to unlock BL.

I think you're missing the fastboot drivers for Z3 as the next step of flashtool needs the device in fastboot (as far as I remember).
So just Google Z3 fastboot drivers and install those and you should be good to go (and you need to press volume down I think for fastboot).

[Q] What i need to do now probably soft bricked d2303 boot loop

Hello Guys.
I have a little problem after succesfull unlocking bootloader and adding a CWM Link. My d2303 has a bootloop , ill try to flash it with flashtool but when i go in flashmode and choose the file phone will go ON without using a power button... Still i can enter in CWM but i cant install a zip with stock 4.4.4 (I dont try older versions yet)
So i cant flash it and now i need help .
@edit: After download stock 4.3 recovery will see rom but cannot flash it cause of error "failed to load keys installation aborted" . Any ideas how to fix it?.
really sorry for my bad eng but i learn it at home alone
You can try to flash stock kernel with Flashtool but using fastboot instead of flashmode. You can try entering fastboot holding Vol + and connecting the phone to PC.

ill try it but when i choose "select system to flash" FT see just *.sin / *.img / *.ext4 and yaffs2 .
@edit: aw my bad i didnt read properly, will try with stock kernel.
@edit2: now bootlooping 1 sec after a home screen.
@edit3: Problem solved, just need to relock bootloader then flash in FT... i dont know the difference but work...
If you relocked bootloader now you can flash it using Sony PS Companion to get a full stock OS with right customization and start from scratch.

[Q][XPERIA J] Wiped device, help to restore it

So I tried to sideload a custom ROM (the PA one, from this thread) using adb and the sideload option on the CWM recovery. I did a factory reset first, installed the ROM afterwards and then rebooted the device. Unfortunately, something went really wrong along the way, because now I can't even boot into recovery.
Connecting the device to my PC and running 'adb devices' returns:
Code:
E:\Program Files\Android\sdk\platform-tools>adb devices
List of devices attached
37714ecd recovery
Any hope?
Flash ftf with Flashtool.
Good Luck.

I tried to connect my phone in fastboot (powered off, hold the '+ vol' button and plug in the USB, the LED turns blue), but when I try to flash the ftf file (using these instructions), flashtool coughs up an error saying

To flash ftf you need volume - (down) ann connect to usb, you'll have green light
blue light = fastboot mode (for flashing kernels) volume +
green light = flashmode (for ftf's) volume - and connect to usb
from that tut, don't exclude anything you also need kernel to be flashed in order XJ to boot.
Good Luck!

We're getting somewhere! I flashed this ftl file using flashmode, as you suggested. Tried to tinker with the device a bit, see if could coax a response out of it. I connected it in fastboot mode and flashed the boot.img file. I could go into CWM recovery, but the stock ROM didn't agree with it, so the phone turned itself off every minute or so. Flashed stock kernel and it works! Thanks a lot man!

Press Win key+R, type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
You will see the list of devices connected to your PC. If you connect your phone and your PC recognizes it, the list will refresh.
Try to see if the list refreshes when you put your D2202 into flash mode (with the green LED).
If it refreshes, look if a new device has appeared in any menu.

Maybe but I don't know becouse if USB doesn't work fastboot mode wouldn't connect, but it is connecting.
You have to flash a rom through fastboot mode, so you need to find system.img and boot.img from stock rom of a D2202 (unfortunately I have D2203 variant so I can't backup my phone, but I can help you findind the files on XDA) and flash it though flash tool.
You can also try to download an ADB toolbox and run the command:
fastboot erase userdata
(this command will remove all your apps' data but can fix your issue)

Try these steps
Follow this guide to install ADB toolkit.
Then open Sony Flashtool and select the XF icon.
Find Xperia E3 and select D2202 variant. In the right panel you will see a lot of entries with countries and telephone companies, select one and click in the field of "Available firmware:". Download the rom.
When it finishes, close XperiFirm. Click on thunder icon, select Fastboot mode, connect your phone off with vol + pressed (blue LED) to the PC and then press on Select system to Flash. It will ask for a sin file. You have to select a system_....sin, which is in C:\Users\(your user profile folder)\.flashtool\firmwares\Downloads\D2202_...\
and let process finish.
Then press on Select kernel to Flash and select, in the same folder as before, a file called kernel_....sin
When it finishes you can disconnect your pone and try to power it on.
I have a Xperia E3 D2212 and I made the whole process, the problem is that I could not increase the storage memory and FlashTools no longer recognizes my cell phone as a D2212, it recognizes as a D2203, this is because it changed the Kernel in TWRP . Would you like to go back to the Original Kernel ??

PLEASE HELP! Bricked Honor 8

Hi,
I was trying to flash TWRP, but now I am stuck with flashing TWRP logo after rebooting or powering the phone on.
I am unable to get to the fastboot.
STEPS I did before brick:
1. unlocked OEM via official way
2. flashed TWRP
3. after that my phone was reset however most of the apps was missing, I was trying to do factory reset once again but it failed with the message "Data partition was heavily damaged"
4. I re-locked EOM
5. brick as mentioned above
Please help, I have the phone only two weeks and I have no idea how to fix this without fastboot.
Thank you.

Sounds like you flashed the 3030 version of TWRP. Download the 3020 version and put it in your fastboot folder. Plug in the USB to PC
Hold power and volume up untill the phone reboots. While it's still off immediately change to power and volume down and hold till it goes into fastboot (bootloader)
Now fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
With the 3020 version.
Unplug the USB and hold power and volume up until it says the phone is booting.. let go and TWRP will load.
Go to Wipe / format data / type yes
Reboot to system and your all set

So I've tried that but the phone is still booting to recovery (flashing TWRP logo) no matter what.
Basically the phone is always on now because if hold the power button (or any other combination) for a few second it will just reboot back.
I have an access only to ADB, but I am not able to boot to bootloader at all, it seems the bootloader is damaged somehow.
Also that warning about unlocked OEM doesn't have that text saying "hold volume up to boot to recovery" etc. like before brick.
Hi there,
Try using the Huawei Multi Tool with the Unbrick option : https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/tool-huawei-multi-tool-team-mt-t3523923
Speaking from experience, this little fellow helped me recover my phone when I bricked it ON DAY ONE after failed root attempt... (Derp)
Let me know if it helped you
(Leave a thanks if it did )
EDIT : This tool is also useful if you want to get lazy whilst rooting. I use it constantly when flashing diffrent bits and pieces
Clearly follow My steps To unbrick and get normal device ::
Step 1 ::
Download the full firmware of your device.
Step 2 :
make sure that your bootloader is in unlocking state
Follow the video blindly ::: https://youtu.be/OMKDnBqbi3U?list=PL...eT9J26lkefvVkK
don't panic of mobile.
Step 3 :: done ..enjoy u did it
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you bricked on nougat then follow the below steps
step one :::
download the downgrade package to mm .
then extract the zip and open the update.app using HuaweiUpdateextrator in that select recovery and extract
1.now, boot your device into fastboot and flash the recovery (Optional)(try this if it said incompatible version on recovery)
2. on your sd card and make a folder "dload" . and copy the update.app which we have extracted earlier
3.the switch off the device and press all three buttons you will be reboot into recovery and done . you device will be okey

Booting to the bootloader is just a timing issue
Phone must be hooked to PC with USB
And volume up and power till it goes black
Then immediately volume down and power and Hold untill the bootloader loads
Keep trying until you get it

I also can use "adb reboot bootloader", but it will reboot again to stuck recovery.

I've tried that, but I am still stuck as that tool is using fastboot as every other tool to flash .img files.
Thank you for the tip though.
Plug phone into computer with USB, then hold down power + volume down until it eventually boots into bootloader. I had the same scenario as you and that's how I got into the bootloader. You can flash either a good TWRP or the stock recovery, either one will work.

How to downgrade from 7.1.1 to 6.0 ?

Hello
I've been having many issues with my Z5 after upgrading to 7.1.1 , can you tell me how to get Android M back ? I'm new to sony devices and I don't know what to do.
Thank you
You have to downlad a program called "Flashtool" and the correct ftf firmware file for your Z5...
The newest Marshmallow build ends with 5.11 and you can download with a integrated program XperiFirm...
http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
install flashtool
install the flashtool drivers /Flashtool Installation Folder/drivers/Flashtool-drivers.exe
open flashtool or flashtool64 (for 64 bit systems)
click the XF icon
select your model from the device list, then search for your a ftf with your region (I always use "Customized AU" even though I don't live in Australia...)
downlaod it
then close XperiaFirm and press the "flash" icon
flashmode has to be selected, press OK
select your ftf file you've just downloaded
tick everything to wipe (APPS_LOG, DIAG, PERSIST, SSD, USERDATA)
ticking USERDATA will reset the phone which is recommended for downgrades but not needed for upgrading
press flash and now connect your xperia via flashmode
(turn off the phone, while connecting it to your pc keep holding VOLUME DOWN until the phone is recognised and a green light appears!
wait until the process is finished (flashing system takes a while)
unplug it
power it on
done

Install the Xperia companion program for the PC, plug your device in normal mode without turning it off, let the drivers install (you'll get a notification in the task bar), after it's done, unplug and then connect your phone in flash mode (hold the volume down and then connect it), let the drivers install, when done, unplug and replug it in fastboot mode (hold the volume UP then connect it), let the drivers install for one more time.
Now disconnect it, open your flashtool program, load the FTF file, tick the boxes in Wipe, including SSD if you don't mind getting your data erases (I recommend erasing your data but make a backup first!), Then click start flashing, when the flash tool asks you to connect your device, hold the volume DOWN then plug it, a green LED should light up and it should start flashing your device.
