Huawei announced the successor to our beloved X1, with Lollipop out of the box!
It has a new Kirin 930 Soc, and this 7.28 mm thick (0.1mm thicker), no word on the weight.
I'm excited!

I will stay off all their products, as they are very poor in updating software.

I am curious to see if the lollipop build on the X2 is 320 DPI or 400.
Also, the chassis is the same as X1, only difference is the color.

No LTE-FDD B20 (on either GEM-703L and GEM-702L) !! Or maybe on a future GEM-701L ?? (to do like the 7D-50XX ref., the 7D-502L is the X1 for Japan)
Great Huawei! You have swapped once again power and volume. Why? To annoy the few fans left?
And, if you move the micro usb, move it towards the middle and not the edge.
Active dual LTE SIM: that's nice!
What about a WCDMA version for use outside China?

Thks for the link.
In the answers from the Honor version ( http://www.huaweimobileshop.com/huawei-honor-x2.html), you can read:
"Honor X2 price is estimated at around $500"
450$ on this (legitimate) shop: http://www.ainol-novo.com/huawei-honor-x2.html
It's a pity that it's lacking LTE FDD band 20 for Europe and also there is still no GPS GLONASS support. Really the only upgrade is the CPU & GPU.
Pricing revealed : 1999 yuan and 2499 yuan

Did they say anything about price and availability and whether they will offer the 2GB/16GB and/or the 3GB/32GB version?
---------- Post added at 13:25 ---------- Previous post was at 13:05 ----------
I did some digging and this is from the German Huawei websïte:
"Preise und Verfügbarkeit
Das HUAWEI MediaPad X2 LTE ist in der zweiten Jahreshälfte in Deutschland zu einer UVP von EUR 349,- in der Standardversion verfügbar. Die Advanced Version mit mehr Speicher gibt es zur einer UVP von EUR 399,-."
Translation is availability in the second half of the year. RRP of €349,00 for the 2GB/16GB version and €399,00 for the 3GB/32GB version, both presumably including 19% VAT.
The prices are good but to have to wait another 3 or 4 months is not!

Unfortunately not. (It was me that asked Huawei about the X2 via their facebook page and got the answer above).

Cool, I'm very tempted to pre-order the gold version.
Any reason to get this one over the x1? I have seen reviews of the x1 and the processor very laggy especially browsing. Has that changed since the updates? I was wondering if screen quality or camera has improved on x2 even though the specs are still the same.

Hi If you have any questions regarding this phone, I am more than happy to answer you. Our store sells this phone and we know how it works. Please post your questions here and one of our sales representatives will answer your questions.
Thanks, I have a few questions?
- Does it have double tap to unlock?
- How would you describe the back, slippy/grippy?
- What is the led notification like, where is it located? I've watched few video and haven't seen it?
- How long does charging take?

Dear Cathain,
please refer answers to your questions below:
1. Yes, it supports. The latest firmware is SP03, which improves the system stability and power usage; with newer firmware released in the future, the phone will support more features hopefully.
2. grippy, with or without the leather case, the same.
3. It is blue, on the top right side (tiny one). For MT7-TL10 model, HUAWEI exclusively provides a nice leather holster (function similar to Samsung Note series); however, in real life use, the holster just covers the led notification area.
4. That's a good question. For MT7-TL10 model, it charges in full within 2.5 hours; when you use it in USA or other countries that have lower voltage, the charging time could be as long as 5 hours. The battery (turn wifi, 2 sim cards, web, webchat etc. on) can last around 30 hours daily use. Excellent battery life.
If you have follow up questions, please let us know.
1. Huawei has stated this current version is NOT compatible with the US T-Mobile network. When will the US-compatible version be available?
2. What is the expected pricing for the 3Gb 32Gb ROM version?
3. What are your shipping methods for this device?
Do you know of anyone running the versions of the phone you sell on T-mobile LTE. We are trying to figure out if they have bands 2 and 4 2100 and 1700 needed stateside for LTE

Dear Sanjsrik and nvygw171,
Please ref answers below:
1. We are not allowed to post pic link in this site. However, if you search my listing on ebxx, you find pictures. With respect to your question, unfortunately, the MT7-TL10 CURRENTLY does not support T-mobile LTE, which uses LET FDD Brand 4. One of our sales representatives are using this phone in the USA now, and 3G signal is shown in the phone from T-Mobile, but as long as you turn on the data plan, you cannot receive/make phone call AND cannot receive any data. Simply, the phone only supports GSM at the moment. However, the brands are technically unlock-able, so I am positive that the MT7-TL10 can be used in the USA for LTE data. One of your sales is contact HUAWEI USA, in hope for an solution for this important issue.
Our store in China is partnering with HUAWEI. As far as the release date of international version, we have no such information. An information is that, even the MT7-TL10 model is limited; with our exclusive partnership, our store
is able to get continuous supply.
2. the 2 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM version will be sold at 599 Euro in Europe. The price in USA is not known yet. However, it will NOT be cheaper than the Chinese version, per HUAWEI said.
3. We ship FEDEX/DHL. To States, we will ship via FEDEX overnight.
4. NO, MT7-TL10 does not compatible with T-Mobile LTE now. Please check the photos in our listing.
If you have follow-up questions, please let us know. Thanks your interests.

An additional information, we are able to root this device now. We even have customized, simplified rom for MT7-TL10. Rooted MT7-TL10 can still upgrade to the latest room version in the future, either by flashing back to the original rom or via SD card method.
1. Not sure what your listing is, I'm assuming in eBay? Not sure if you mean that once the international version is available, you WILL or WON'T have a continuous supply?
2. What method of payment do you accept?
3. You can actually write out the site name is it getmobilephone on eBay?

Dear sanjsrik,
This thread is supposed to answer any questions related to this phone. If you have any doubts, we are glad to answer them to help you to make an informed decision.
1. HUAWEI is aiming at occupying Samsung's market in China. Therefore, even as an exclusive partner, we have limited supply of this phone AND we are not allowed to sell under MSRP (which is very unusual). This phone is out-of-stock in most mobile phone stores in china. We have no clue when the Europe and USA version will be released. However, I predict, HUAWEI will have to satisfy the home market first before they sell it to overseas. This is my best prediction.
2. We have an Aliexpress store to be opened and an reputable Ebay account to sell. Yes, getmobilephone is the ebay account name. (Moderator, if you think it is not appropriate to put this information here, pls feel free to remove this).
Once again, if you have any questions, please let us know. Thanks your interests.

Wasn't questioning your efficacy or forthrightness as a store. I was asking what the store name was on ebay or as you pointed out, aliexpress. Hadn't heard of it before.
So, according to your answers
* you're not sure when the international (in other words, US-compatible) version of the device will be available, but it will be eventually and only after the Chinese market has been supplied?
* you're not sure what the price will be (wasn't asking what your MSRP policies were with Huawei), but I"m assuming it's going to be $600+ for the 3Gb/32Gb version?
Is there a way to find out when the international (US-compatible version) will be available?
Thank you

Yes, we have no such information available. We predict that they have to fulfill the Chinese market first. Due to some political circumstances, we even predict the USA version will be released after the European version. Again, this is our prediction, NOT official answer from HUAWEI.

The MT7-L09 (2/16 version) will be sold at 599 Euro in Europe. The price in USA is not known, but I predict the MSRP in USA might turn out to be what you indicate.
We have information that, there will be an international MT7-TL10 (similar to China MT7-TL10, without the TDD-LTE 38/39/40/41 bands) version available.. If you write to our sales through our ebay store, providing your email address, we are glad to provide you a photo showing the 9 different versions of Mate 7 worldwide.
Is there a way to find out when the international (US-compatible version) will be available?
Only HUAWEI knows.

Some are reporting that the Mate7 is compatible with T-Mobile LTE in the USA. Is this limited to the 2/16 model? Maybe there isn't enough room for extra memory plus support for extra LTE bands on the 3/32?

Dear JZCHEN,
That might be MT7-L09 version. Currently MT7-TL10 (China version) does not support FDD-LTE 4, therefore, until the international rom is released and flashed, the phone cannot connect to T-Mobile LTE network in the USA. This is confirmed by one of our sales.

I have a question about root. You said you already obtained root on the mate 7. What is Huawei's point of view on rooting their phones? If I can't root the phone once it's released here in Europe I won't be interested.

Dear Sammath,
Huawei's POV? Aren't all manufactures against root?
Our technician is more than happy to root the device for you for free (if you purchase from us, and we have customized rom for our customers, throughout the life of the Mate 7) or at a small fee. The root has to be operated with Chinese software currently; in the future, you may root the device yourself once there will be english software for such purpose.

Dear bogdan-wrc,
There will be two MT7-TL10 (3/32) versions:
1. one is for Chinese market which is available now, featuring FDD-LTE 1/3/7, TDD-LTE 38/39/40/41.
2. one for International market which has no release date yet, featuring FDD-LTE 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/28(Aphase), TDD-LTE 40.
Our prediction is that, once the international MT7-TL10 version is released, the Chinese MT7-TL10 version can flash the international version's rom, and the phone will supports FDD-LTE 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/28(Aphase). Technically, they shall/might share the exact same hardware but just lock certain bands at each market.
The international MT7-TL10 will be sold at 599 Euro in European countries. The Chinese MT7-TL10 is available in our store, ready for shipping via FEDEX/DHL Express.
If you have follow up questions, please post it here.

Starting to see screen protectors and cases show up on Amazon...
I have an X1 and X2, I really love these phones, the 7 inch screen is the perfect screen size for me. It fits in my jeans pocket and it's big enough that I don't need a tablet.
If I had a wish list it would be...
1. US LTE on AT&T compatibility (Though HSPA+ is really plenty fast enough)
2. 4GB ram (And Huawei needs to stop messing with the memory manager killing apps, just let android do its work)
3. Faster CPU/GPU/Ram
4. Higher screen resolution?, I don't really mind the 1920x1200, i'm guessing it saves battery too.
I Found this here

You're better off keeping your X2 if the X3 has those specs. The Mediapad M2 7.0 PLE-702L has LTE support in the US. It doesn't have band 12 for T-Mobile though but it's better than the X2 and may end up getting Cyanogenmod. Instead of naming it the X3 they named it the M2 7.0. It's the same as the X3 would have been.

Hey,
Just saw this post. Can you elaborate a bit? You say it supports LTE in the US but that it doesn't have the T mobile band 12. I am using T mobile in Central Jersey. Does this phone have any of the band I would need to get 4G LTE on T Mobile? Had to bag on my X2 because of the signal. I was getting mostly 2G.
Thanks for any info.

It will indeed work on T-Mobile thanks to band 41 support. Don't expect great reception or speeds with a single band, especially outside of urban areas, but it's supported.
I'm looking to buy mate 9 to use in the UK.
Please share your thoughts on the phone especially those within the uk.
I'm interested in knowing if it would work on all UK 4g networks.
If camera is any good ompared to iPhone 7 S7 etc.
If there were any concerns with the phone.
I've read it does have touch screen issues which is worrying.
I just need help deciding if this phone is worth getting or not.
Not sure where to purchase in the UK, but you can purchase the international version (model #MHA-L29) from several retailers online. I purchased it from Wonda Mobile and had it shipped to the US. They pay any import taxes etc. too, and warranty it for 1 year. Make sure the model number is MHA-L29, not MHA-AL00 (Chinese version without 'true' Google Services integration).
How much did you pay?

Yes i am, I have the Mate 9, working great, I did an unboxing video on my YouTube channel. I have bought 15 phone's over the last 6 months from wonda mobile and no issues. My channel name is Tech Zilla
I've owned the phone for three weeks, never heard of any touch issues, and never had any. It's working better than any phone I've owned. The EMUI 5 is now my favorite UI.
Congrats all! This is a top of the line device!

If it's for Colombia, the phone needs to be FCC-certified, otherwise you won't be able to get it approved for use in the country.
In case of Redmi Note 7, it has already been certified: https://fccid.io/2AFZZ-RMSF7G https://fccid.io/2AFZZ-RMSF7H
Redmi Note 7 Pro is not FCC-certified yet. If it actually gets certified, I'd assume it would happen not long after the global version launch, which would probably happen next month since the China launch is only happening next week.
I'm subscribing to this thread. Looking for availability to UK
It has been released today in China. It will go on sale on March 22nd; that means it will be available on Aliexpress very soon. But i doubt it will have B20
Which device do I buy?
I have a question ... I buy the PocoPhone F1 or I wait for this Redmi Note 7 Pro in my country ???
Note: I am not interested in the camera, only the performance and autonomy. I do not know if the SD 675 is more powerful than the SD 845 since it is more recent. Thanks!!!

If performance and autonomy is most important for you, go for Pocophone. The price difference between the 2 is not really noticeable but performance is. F1 is much more powerful than RN7pro :good:

It's allready available on Ali, i ordered yesterday the 6/128 monster
I'm still waiting for a small price drop. 285USD + shipping is still a little too expensive for me
So the version being released tomorrow 12am in china.. can you put a global update on it? It seems the bands would support AT&T. What is the difference of a global version vs what is coming tomorrow?
seems that will not be a rn7 pro global version

Of course there will But...if there's not it's still OK as it does seem to have all the global bands anyway. It'd be great if it turns out to have Android One but I'm not holding my breath

Hmmmm.... i was talking about the bands listed online, my phone it's still on its way.
But if the chinese version have band 20 activated, it will be a huge boom for Redmi and no need to release a global version, because, from what i saw online, ppl was waiting for global versions mostly for band 20
Anyone knows if the global version is going to have NFC? If it doesn’t, that would be a dealbreaker for me.

No Redmi Note has NFC.
Hey there,
I've tried searching far and wide for websites with the X2 (preferably 3+32 GEM-702L) available for purchase, but I don't seem to be able to find anything. Am I a poor searcher, or is there truly nothing out there?
Thanks much!

Thanks for the link! I don't know how often X2s appear on eBay. In your recommendation, should I buy this one, or is it likely that a 702L will appear for sale in the next few months?

if you really want a X2 (did you really compare LTE frequencies of your country, with all X2 models LTE frequencies ?), you should seek in wich country 702L were sold,n and then put a ebay alarm on its ebay natrional site

I did check out the differences, and it looks like there's not actually any difference on the nationwide carriers in Canada between the 701/702/703, since all of them only share LTE bands 7 and 40 on Rogers, Bell, and Telus. In fact, there's not any difference between them on 2G or 3G bands. Each phone here works as well as all the others.
Do you think it would take more than a couple months to find a 702L on eBay if I put alerts on national sites as you suggest? I'd much rather have a 701 this month than have to wait 4 or 5 months for a 702.

If no difference, why so wanting a 702L? If it's for roms, dont' worry' you can install all 702l roms on any models.
I advice you 703L, as it is usually cheaper. and there are much around.
In france myself I have to prefer 701L, it is why I have some alerts on that model:
