[RUU][India] HTC One E8/ M8 Ace DWGL - M8sd - 1.26.720.6 (stock) - 0PAJIMG - HTC One E8

Hi guys,
So I got this RUU from a "friend". Here it is as promised. Have fun!
Code:
Don't try to flash this if you flashed the Lollipop RUU before this. It won't work.
Even if it does work, you may end up bricking your device.
If you end up bricking your phone, don't blame me.
Code:
0. Charge your phone to at least 60% to be on the safe side
1. Copy the file to an sdcard
2. Rename it to 0PAJIMG.zip
3. Turn off the phone
4. Press and hold valume down + Power till the HBOOT screen shows up
5. Follow the instructions
Don't forget to hit thanks if this helps you..

I think bootloader lock is required. As far as I know, S-Off is only required if you're flashing some other CID RUU..

SunShine doesn't work on all devices. Depending on the error message SunShine gave you when you tried it, you may just have to wait until SunShine 3.0 is released.
But yes, if you are S-ON, you MUST relock your bootloader to run an RUU.

You only have to relock if you are S-ON. Just a simple "fastboot oem lock" takes care of that. But then you have to immediately flash a proper RUU to get back to a working device.
That thread you linked is unrelated to any of this. That's specifically for people that are already S-OFF.

You can if you're S-OFF. Otherwise, no.
However, if you're unlocked and S-ON, there is a way to downgrade your ROM but leave the Lollipop firmware installed. It requires decrypting the RUU and creating a bootloader-flashable zip of boot, system & recovery from this RUU, which can be flashed via HBOOT directly on the device or through fastboot RUU mode. It doesn't require locking the device either, but it will delete your data and internal storage.

@buggerman i download your RUU rom and installed it i face no error throw installing but the device keep rebooting when working with wizard and after finishing the wizard quickly no network appear on both cards with unknown base-band please see my phone var's

This is strange. It worked perfectly for one of my friends. I guess the only difference was that he is S-ON and is not on a SuperCID, but I don't think that matters here.

some ideas you can try
You forgot to downgrade misc_version before restoring to stock.
Now, you have one of 2 options:
1) If your HBOOT is modified - you can fastboot flash recovery, connect by ADB, execute misc_version script in recovery (that step saves you ROM installation) to downgrade main version, and then execute RUU again.
2) If your HBOOT is stock and you can't do anything - you'll have to unlock it the HTC way, after unlock - execute all the above (including relocking the bootloader after main version is downgraded).

Since your hboot already using 2+, you can do following steps:
1. unlock your bootloader using htc dev
2. after unlocked, install recovery
3. go to recovery you've previous installed then connect usb and change misc version via adb
4. relock again the bootloader
5. then you can install the RUU
Hope this help.

It doesn't. At least in my case.
I had to add my cid to make it loadable but that's about it:
Loading .. [PG88IMG.zip]
Checking .. [PG88IMG.zip]
Then it returns to Fastboot menu again with nothing changed!

Hi Ahmed,
What is the version of your hboot? is it already 2.00+? if it is you can just unlock via htc dev to flash the recovery. No need to flash the firmware

IMO is that you dont need to flash the firmware, since you already said that you've already unlock the bootloader. I did flash the firmware because i want to unlock my bootloader.
I download this recovery image www.4ext.net/ddl/saga/recovery.zip, I flash this image in fastboot and the recovery installed successfully, maybe you can try it also.
after that you can install tacoroot for temporary root and misc version your device image version, then you can install ruu afterward.

My problem is complex. Hboot is 0.98.0002 so i can't use HTCDev to unlock. At the same time adb is not working so i can't s-off. RUUs of 2.x or 1.x do not work either as latest image was 3.x .
I think i need to upgrade Hboot (somehow) to enable HTCdev Unlock then downgrade and s-off. That may require RUU > 3.x ... and it must be RUU not OTA or update package.
My case was the same as yours thats why i flash the firmware so i can unlock my bootloader. But you are not able to flash from chinese ota i gave you earlier?

Official T-mobile RUU help

Hello, i'm new guy on this forum. I'm going back from s-off to s-on and official stock t-mobile ruu and i'm using tutorial form this forum. But then i try install RUU_Saga_TMO_UK_1.30.110.2_R_Radio_20.28b.30.0805U_38.03.02.11_M_release_180106_signed i'm getting this ERROR[170]: USB CONNECTION ERROR. But my phone is properly connected, i tried europe ruu(no usb erros), but then i got cid error.

Ok, turn in bootloader and now no usb error, but now i'm getting bootloader error 140. Any suggestions?

Follow this guide.
When you are done I suggest to fill the offset 00000000 to 00000170 of your sdcard with zeroes (as it was before) because various users reported that running a device with a goldcard inside can cause issues.

First of all, remove serial number and imei.
There's no Jelly Bean RUU for Rogers instead you can download OTA.

- There's option at the bottom of your first post to Edit it. Your serial/IMEI can be used for dangerous purposes.
- Refer to This Post to find the correct OTA.zip.
- To install the OTA.zip, there are a few steps to be done. What was the last ROM you installed? Did you update to JellyBean via OTA?

Sorry for my weird typos. I was half asleep while I was typing that. I realized it now.
That's the correct OTA you download. It is in the form of a zip file correct?
You can flash that OTA with the help of the method stated in my signature
..

Lol man I can't stop laughing at my typos. And the subsequent question asked by you hahaha

But this method has worked for many people. Two of them reported yesterday.
at 10th step I had already given that you shouldn't flash firmware if you had already updated to jellybean.
But I seriously am think what could have could have caused the brick as the OTA matches with your firmware.
Did you do SuperCID?
Try VolDown+Power Button to go into bootloader.

yes done it twice
thing is
after it said done in command prompt, the green progressbar wouldn't leave, i mean it was stuck at the green progress bar
the thing is, i waited for a while for it to finish, a lil bit was left at the end in the progressbar, but it said done in command prompt
so after a lot of waiting, i just hard reset it, but after that the phone is not booting into bootloader and not responding at all
what is happening?

Bro I can't find anything that you did incorrectly. I don't know what the problem is. But I think that incomplete firmware update bricked it.

Tried to convert to GPE, stuck in Fastboot

Hi,
A couple of weeks ago I got a new HTC One M8 Verizon from amazon. I bought it cause I wanted to covert it to GPE. After looking for some tutorials I decided to try the one described in this youtube video:
" How To: Convert HTC One M8 to Google Play Edition (5.0.1 Lollipop) with OTA Updates! " from MaowDroid - Since I'm a new user I can't post links, so I posted the video full name so you can look for it.
Later on I discovered I missed the " GSM Device (Not Sprint or Verizon) " legend in the video description. Very stupid of me! Anyway, everything went smooth until I flashed the image, then after restarting the device nothing happened and all I can do is to turn off the phone. If I choose HBOOT -> Recovery, the phone restarts. Same thing happens if I choose HBOOT -> Factory Reset.
Besides this video was not for my verizon device... I'm almost sure my second mistake was not to update the firmware before doing the whole process.. changing CID, ModelID and flashing the GPE image. I've been looking how to fix this but since I can't boot the OS I haven't been able to change the ModelID or CID, so whenever I've tried to flash a different image I get an error that says something about incorrect values, which from what I've learned in this process, its because those images are for different ModelID and CID values.
After that I asked for help in Android Forums ( http ://androidforums.com/threads/htc-one-m8-tried-to-convert-to-gpe-stuck-in-fastboot.931142/ ), where EarlyMon is being really nice and tried to help me resolve this issue. However it seems my problem is more difficult, so he suggested me to ask here so that we get more opinions to avoid making a fatal mistake. In summary, EarlyMon asked me to
1. flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-m8.img
2. Mount and Install ViperOneM8 4.3.0
Which I tried but at the end I get a Status 7 Error
-- Delete the spaces between "http:" and "//" --
http ://s13.postimg.org/4ktywhmzr/htconem8_Viper_One_M8_Error_Status7.jpg
Can you help me go to GPE or at least to Sense?
Any help will be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

You can boot to hboot correct? First change CID back to Verizon, you can do this in hboot (bootloader)
fastboot devices (your device should be listed)
fastboot oem writecid VZW__001 (2 underscores)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Then try flashing the Verizon RUU

Hi,
I just tried the 5.0.1 RUU.
First I changed the CID as instructed.
Then I renamed and copied the zip file to the SD as suggested in the ROM instructions.
Rebooted and choosed HBOOT, the ROM is detected but, after a few minutes I get a " Update Fail! " error.

since you are relocked you are limited to fastboot commands
try this one
fastboot reboot bootloader
edit: by the way did you use any wipe option from TWRP ?

you shouldn't use any wipe option from twrp
your system and data partitoin are corrupted probably
also you are stuck in ruu mode
try to flash the ruu manually
see how it goes
otherwise your only option is the thread i gave you in my previous post
Thank you again
but Bootloader can't find PG58IMG.zip in my SD card how can I flash the RUU manually
phone stuck in 39% when start system flashing

I got this error :crying:
Code:

any help bro ?
At first you said you have relocked your bootloader in order to flash the RUU.You have not S-OFF so you are forbidden to use the recovery right now and probably you are stuck in RUU mode.
As long as you have "relocked" status you could unlock your bootloader again by using the command
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
or by flashing the Unlock_code.bin again
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
After those steps you should have access to bootloader again and you should be able to use recovery to correct (the possibly corrupted) partitions by using the guide that gave you rzr86.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-sensation/help/recovering-data-mount-issues-t2859588
It's a painful proccess but it is the only solution I can think right now.
---------- Post added at 03:53 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:35 AM ----------
You could also check this guide out how to reformat a partition from recovery.(This guide is for HTC One and the /data partition number is probably not the same with the sensation /data partition number but I think it's a good start to read this solution)
---------- Post added at 04:06 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:53 AM ----------
If you have access to recovery you can use adb shell to give the command
Code:
cat /proc/emmc
so you can see the numbers for every partition in your device.
You can also check this guide out.
for
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
give me this error
Code:
(bootloader) [ERR] Command error !!!
OKAY [ 0.018s]
finished. total time: 0.019s
and for
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
pass successfully but nothing happen to screen I don't have any room in phone to unlock it
and adb commands don't work fastboot only work

The first command doesn't always work but the unlocktoken should unlock your bootloader again.
If you use the command
Code:
fastboot reboot bootloader
after the flash of unlocktoken you should be able to see the bootloader on the next reboot.(If you can't just try to remove the battery for some time ,put it back in and press (power) + (vol-) to get the phone in bootloader mode.
Adb commands doesn't work on fastboot or RUU modes. You can only use adb by using a recovery with that capability or with a working rom.
Anyway...If nothing of them can help you you could try (by relocking your bootloader at first) to flash an extracted system.img from an RUU by using fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
You should better try to erase data and cache partitions before you reboot and see if you have a working ROM.
Code:
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
Thank you for reply , I have only the tow screens displayed exactly like the image

And [VOL -] +[ POWER BUT ] give the black screen
I think unlocktoken need ROM installed for choosing between unlock or not
and all flash commands failed
Code:

As I saw in your first post here you are saying you have hboot 1.27 (probably from a command you gave in RUU mode)
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Now as I can see in the image your bootloader status seems to be 0.85 for the model ACE (HTC DESIRE HD).If this is an enginering HBOOT and you reverted to S-ON you probably breaked your device.I just don't get it!
HTC Desire HD HBOOT
HTC Sensation HBOOT
The sensation phones are PYRAMID models!
If it has to do with wrong flash you could try this guide.
But before you try anything give the command
Code:
fastboot getvar all
one more time and copy-paste everything here.
the image not from my phone I found it in the net , just to show you what look like
This what I have in my HBOOT

If you cannot unlock your device from relocked status and you cannot flash anything to it I don't think I can help you further. You can always use varius tools like riffbox to repartition emmc chip or maybe to s-off your device (Too).
Are you apsolutely sure you tried to flash a signed system.img with relocked bootloader and it didn't flash??
