This is the story. I installed a custom kernel, and decided to clear the dalvik cache. I am on the art runtime and I think this may be the issue here. After installing the kernel I wiped the dalvik cache it would not complete and I had to force restart. I could not open the camera app, and when opening es file explorer it told me could not find /sdcard/. Looking in the terminal it said could not mount /cache/. Could this be a possible bug with the art runtime and TWRP? I had to do a fastboot -w to get the device functional again.
It is a bug with twrp. I just fastboot flashed clockworkmod recovery, wipe the cache there (took 5-10 min) and everything worked.

My dalvik cache wipe also took very long to complete. Try it again and hang in there!

Thanks at least I know I'm not the only one experiencing this.
Nasty Bug in TWRP
Yes this needs to be fixed. It happened to me too. Glad that CWM recovery was able to clear the corrupt cache partition left by TWRP (took ~10min to run). I was looking at a full reset to stock to get out of this.

What do you mean fastboot doesn't work? What error are you getting when you try flashing a recovery?

I can start the Nexus in TWRP. It says there is no os installed.
I cannot flash a recovery because i have no chance to put some files on the Nexus through my computer. There is no connection between Nexus and computer
Somehow are you able to get a internet connection through your computer? If not ull prolly have to use a flash drive and go to a local area with computers and wifi. Not sure if you have a desktop or laptop. Laptop would be ideal though.
Hi,
First, I followed the instructions in this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507905
I installed the CWM recovery and then flashed the CM11-20131228 nightly and then the recommended Google Apps that are linked at their wiki: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Gapps#Downloads (I took the 20131208 ones)
Now my phone is stuck in the boot screen with the circle spinning around the cyanogenmod logo (I can boot the bootloader and recovery but when I try to boot CM11 it’s stuck) and I dont know how to get to a working cm11 rom. The guide said that the first boot with a new rom takes longer than usual because the phone rebuilds caches and so on but I think it should not take more than half an hour...
What I already tried is:
- Wiping the chaches with the CWM recovery an then booting cm11 -> still just the arrow spinning around the logo
- Wiping the caches with recovery and then re-flashing the same zip without flashing the google apps afterwards -> did not work
- Wiping and then pushing the newer cm11 nightly via adb so that I could try this one -> recovery did not find the pushed zip on my scdard
- Wiping, then tried to install the new nightly via adb sideload -> cmd prompt said it was send properly and as far as I can say the phone installed it but I was still stuck on that bootscreen ...
- I even restored to the stock 4.4.2 factory image and then flashed the cwm recovery, than wiped caches and then installed the latest cm11 nightly an then the google apps but I still can not get past the boot animation
What am I doing wrong and how can I get past the boot screen?
You talk about wiping caches but are you wiping data too?
Oh, yes. I just didnt mention it. I always did the three steps from the guide:
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
advanced > wipe dalvik cache

So you get the bootloop only when trying to install CM and when you flashed the factory image, it booted up fine?
Sent from my Nexus 5
Exactly.
I install the factory image with method 1 from this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701 and then flash CWM recovery to install CM (factory reset + wipe cache + wipe dalvik cache + install cm-zip + install gapps-zip) and then there is the bootloop.

I got another problem now ... The last thing I did was flashing the stock rom. Now I want to flash the latest CM nightly (20131229) but fastboot does not let me install cwm recovery and says
Code:
FAILED <remote: partition table doesn't exist>
I flashed the whole stock rom again but the error still occurs... I have to wipe the partitions after I installed CM, right?

I use this command. But I missed a c in recovery so fastboot did not find the partition named "reovery" >_< Ok, CWM is installed. Now I have to install CM11 an then wipe the 4 partitions you mentioned with cwm? Wheres the option to wipe system, I just find the other 3.

So I installed CM + Gapps and then wiped data, cache and dalvik cache with CWM. Now Im waiting for 8 minutes for the bootscreen to go away, but think it didnt work. By the way, if I wipe the system partition, I delete CM, dont I? I dont understand how that will help booting into CM.

Wipe before the install.
So,
1 Put rom zip on phone internal storage
2 Wipe partitions except internal storage
3 Flash rom
4 Flash GApps
5 Reboot

8 minutes is too long. You have some other problem. Do any other roms work? Wiping system in twrp does not wipe the internal sd card. That's why you didn't find it in cwm.

Hey Guys,
Tried installing a custom rom on my LG Optimus G but stucked on LG logo on boot after installation. Now I try flashing the original kdz but when I lunch de flahing process from download mode, my phone turns on into recovery mode on its on. Can somebody help me? Is there another tool to flash kdz??
When you tried flashing the custom rom or kdz did you do a factory reset first and wipe everything except internal sd phone or tablet storage first before you flashed the files ? is the kdz a firmware zip folder ?

No, did that but my problem is solved, My problem is solved. I was able to flash using LG Flash Tool 2014.
Which procedure should I follow exactly not to stuck again. If I factory reset the Rom zip will be whiped. My phone takes no external SD.
Check Ur downloaded ROM MCDev again. That its OK and didn't corrupt..
On which Stock firmware u were before installing MCdev? You should be on 30C
Do you have a custom recovery ?
when flashing roms you need to wipe cache, data, and system before you flash recovery. It doesn't delete internal phone storage, files unless you choose to select it. This is how I do it in a custom recovery .twrp works good for the lg g2
The ROM is OK. I'm on 20G

I don't think you need to factory reset again after you flashed the rom if you did the things before it. Clear the cache and dalvik cache before starting up your device.
is data being wiped during factory reset ? You should
Select wipe data/factory reset and confirm
Select wipe cache partition and confirm
Select advanced - wipe dalvik cache and confirm
Select install zip from SD card
Select from internal SD card or wherever you placed it.
Select the ROM file and confirm.
then start the device. If you have the right android version and everything else you can wipe cache and dalvik cache then try Fix Permissions after flashing rom before you try to start up again.
Does the rom need you to be on a different android version or flash a kernel for it ?
