[Q] PenMode - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Could somebody help me enable pen mode on the Z3?
The touch.scale.pressure is alread below 0.1 :/

Not sure if the z3 has pen mode like other Z models

Glove mode?

I wanted this too. Both on my z2 tablet and z3. But unfortunately its not there.
The z2 phone had pen support and it was awesome I don't understand why they removed it.
Anyways I was hoping someone somehow manages to port it to the z3. I have a stylus which is pretty crap compared a standard pencil. With root I think its possible on z3 so I hope someone finds a way.

This maybe
http://www.gizmobolt.com/2014/02/21/how-to-enable-pen-mode-on-xperia-z1/

Tried this but no luck.
It does have the clearpad pen file but for some reason it doesn't activate.
I tried manually too changing the 0 to 1 but nope even if i change it to 1 and click save it ends up turning back to 0.

Must be a way. Maybe some Dev will figure it out

It's gotta work. I admit it's not the best and it sometimes works like crap, but it works. Just call someone and when that person answers keep your fingers on the upper-right hand side of the screen ( next to the front camera) and the screen will turn off.

What happened to 'Screen Compatibility Mode"?

So on my old Toshiba Thrive 10.1, anytime I ran an app that wasn't optimized for the large screen, it asked me if I wanted to stretch to fit or something to that effect. Probably a Gingerbread thing?
On my TF700 I've been trying to play Avadon: The Black Fortress again, but no matter what the screen is like 60% what it should be.
Obviously with a 1920 x 1080 screen it's just not stretching it from the game's native 1024 x 768 size, but why won't it stretch?
What can I do to make it work out?
Thanks much!

I've not come across anything that doesn't stretch to compatibility mode yet? I'll see if I can try that game out.
EDIT: Ah not at £6.18 I won't!
EDITx2 : Found the demo

OK this is a poorly written app. It forces a resolution and doesn't use the Google api to stretch it. Uninstalling sorry but you'll have to ask the app dev to make it properly compatible.

guys should i buy the xperia L

I wanted know because I will buy its soon and will it ever have a bootable and full working cyanogen mod and Ive heard about many battery and restarting problems so should I buy this phone and by the way I live in india
We can't predict the future, you know. So we don't know if we'll ever have a stable CM. And your choice depends on what do you want your phone for. If you're a heavy user/gamer, then this phone suits you perfectly. If you like taking photos, you might want to look forward to another phone, since Xperia L has alot of camera issues, such as high exposure on low light and image flicking while recording on indoor enviroinments.

I suggest to wait or save your money for other brands or other models... Xperia L has some issues and even up to now the issue isn't solve. It has been two months since the last update but still no fixes on those crucial ones

I also wanna buy this phone, but i came across its famous memory filling issue :
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-L/Device-memory-full-in-xperia-L/td-p/347456
I wanna know whether it happens to certain firmwares only and whether the latest update fixes this problem
---------- Post added at 10:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:30 PM ----------
The other issues that i have known so far about this phone :
wifi disconnecting
touch screen sensitivity
camera issues
mic quality
what is the truth about those issues and are there any other issues that we should know of ?
Thanks.

1. There is problem with the WiFi what so ever. It's the router/modem.
2. Touch screen sensitivity can can be a problem sometimes while zooming in or out. Otherwise it's good.
3. There are no HW camera issue. Only SW camera issue. So expect them to be resolved in 4.2.2 or 4.3 or CM.
4. I am hearing this for the first time. No mic quality issues. Mic is great according to me.
If you're not convinced about the camera, talk to @shivamk11 and look into his thread!

Ok, thanks, but i watched some video samples from this phone and the sound was not that good which means voices will seem unnatural to the other party im calling.
And what about this memory full issue : http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-L/Device-memory-full-in-xperia-L/td-p/347456
Does it happen to all phones or certain firmwares only ? Is it fixed with 2.17 update ?
I also heard read about restarting due to home screen wallpaper issues, is it true ?
I dunno, this phone seems to have many issues.

That memory issue is one of the biggest bugs on xperia L. If you're planning to root XL, no need it worry as it can be solved.
However, if you're not keen on rooting, there's a decent chance that you could face this problem. & NO, this bug is not fixed with the 2.17 update.
I am currently on 2.17 & still face this problem. Haven't yet faced the restarting problem..
what about battery life can anybody tell me about it?

again, i can respond only regarding non-rooted phones.
For non rooted phones, Just About Average. Lasts just about a day if you're medium user. IF you're a heavy user, be prepared to charge your phones a couple of times a day.
Any other issues we should know of ?

Actually, L's camera is really good, but the new update screwed it up, pictures are really noisy and overexposed in low light. You should see shivamk's topic.

If you are confused between Xperia M and Xperia L ...
Then blindly go for Xperia L .
According to me Xperia L is better in all terms in comparison to Xperia M .
hey guys, after watching xperia l review on youtube on almost every different channel, none other of them complains about touch issue. but when i go to xda, suddenly theres a ton of L user complaining about low senitivity touchscreen issues..
does the touchscreen issue only happens to some people or all L users?

Xperia E3 - Headphones is not working.

Just bought E3 3 days ago and I found that sometimes when listening to the music using headset, there was not sound at all. I had to press play/stop many times. Does anyone meet this bug? I tried with MH750 and MH410 but the bug is still there.
My device: D2202
Yes absolutely the same problem I am encountering with. Lets wait for the next update of walkman. I'm just tired of this thing. My walkman version is 8.4.A.5.4

Fixed accidentally on a Russian forum - just plug your headphones tighter. That's it. Meaning apply more pressure while pushing the headphones jack in.

Alternative Way to Access TSP/TSK Firmware Window?

Hello and good morning, afternoon, or evening.
Device: Samsung Galaxy S6 (not rooted)
Provider: T-Mobile
Elaborating on the thread title, is there a method of reaching the TSP Firmware window without using the dialer code *#2663#? If so, is it possible to do so without rooting my phone? I have some apps that require for the phone to stay unrooted.
The aforementioned code in particular does not work. However, other dialer codes like *#0*#, *#1234#, and *#06# for example work so I am sure that HiddenMenu is turned on. For some reason though, some codes like the one relating to the camera firmware also do not work.
I want to access the window in order to force an update to the touch screen firmware since my touch screen randomly (both in terms of timing and location) does not register my taps. It makes it somewhat frustrating on the occasions that I am playing games on the phone. From what I have read, this method is the most common way of fixing the issue I am currently having with the phone.
Thank you in advance.
Hi, do you find the solution?
