[Completed] [Q] OnePlus One Boot Loop - XDA Assist

My OPO is stuck in boot loop. It was not used for around 4 months so I think battery went too low below charge. I tried putting it on charge for 2 days. Still same. I sometimes get sign of "Battery too low. Charge before switch on" in Chinese & English. I raised a ticket they told me to install the software in fastboot but phone is not switching on so I cannot put it in fast boot to install those files. Then customer support told me to put it off charge for 12 hours and then charge for 6 hours, un-plug then plug for one hour or more and switch on but still it doesnt.
Now even customer support is not responding to my mails.
Kindly let me know what can I do to make it work.
P.S: I am not a geek so please tell me procedure which is easy to understand and can me done by anyone like me.

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. I'm familiar with this device (I have one), and you've done everything that can be done in your situation. The only thing you can do now is continue harassing OnePlus support.
Good luck!

My one suddenly won't power on (unmodified Phone, rom, locked bootloader)

Hi,
Yesterday i was watching a video on YouTube when suddenly the phone shut down and I wasn't able to power it on again.
I was on 40% battery power.
The phone is entirely stock (never unlocked bootloader, never obtained root permissions).
I already tried to:
Charge the phone for 1 day (the charger is working perfectly)
Don't touch the phone for 12 hours then try to reboot
Tried to connect it to PC in fastboot
All i got was a dead phone and sometimes an error from Windows (can't recognize device).
Can someone help me?
Sounds to me like you should contact Oneplus and get a new phone.
I'd say start the RMA process.

Anybody can tell me how/if i can recover my data before starting the rma process?
If you can't get the phone to power on at all I don't like your chances.

Thank you, I'm starting the rma process as we speak.
I think that a paypal claim would be faster at this point.
Make a paypal claim. My device broked after 45 days and know i cant use it and the support do not answer.

[Completed] Getting a new phone what should i do first?

I'm getting my second phone and its the Asus zenfone. When I first get it what should I do? Should I first charge it fully and then use it or should I just use it and then plug it in later? I really don't want to mess up the battery because my first phone I ever got was the s3 and after four months the battery didn't work that well and two years later now my phone drains quickly that I can't charge my phone with the charger. I connect my phone to my ps4 to charge it. So besides the battery are there any other things I should do? I've never rooted my phone before so should I do it for my zenfone 2? If so what skin should I use, I heard cyanogen mod is very good. Also how can I transfer my contacts and pictures/music to my new phone? If I use a new Google account for my phone can I still transfer my pictures that are associated with my old gmail that is associated with my s 3. Sorry for the long post, I'm really excited for my phone and I want it to rub the best and last me at least 2 years or more.

Hi, welcome to XDA, and welcome to the Zenfone 2 family!
If it's all right, I will try to answer each question in point form...
Usually when you get a new phone, the battery level is around 60%. I, being impatient (especially with this one), plugged it in then turned it on to use it, until battery level reached 100%, then unplugged.
There is probably big, conflicting discussion about this, but messing up your first charge probably isn't going to ruin your battery or take months off of it's life.
I think best practice is try not to let the level fall below 40% (but don't panic if it does and your day is not yet over), but more importantly, don't leave it on the charger for way longer than needed to get to 100% (the phone's ROM has an estimate of when battery reached 100% to help) - in the same token don't panic if you lay for charge and then fall asleep, waking up in the middle of the night, or even morning when you realize it's still on the charger - just unplug .
If you have to charge your S3 with your PS4, it sounds more like your charger adapter died on you.
If you never rooted, although you are missing out on a wide world, there are consequences in that world (safeguards are there for a reason). Bravery is a prerequisite. In short, if you don't need root, I wouldn't bother.
CyanogenMod is a possibility for this device, once your bootloader is unlocked (and only specific versions of the stock ROM allow you to do this). But honestly, for stability, stick with stock for a while, and if you hate it (I personally like it), then can try something different.
If you have used Google services for everything ... photos (Picasa or whatever it's now called), contacts, et cetera, all that should translate to the new phone once you sign in. Music, you will have to copy over from your old phone, the easiest way is to connect to PC via data cable, enable MTP, and collect the files. Then reverse direction for the ZF2.
No worries!

[Completed] Asus Zenfone 2 recover data help :(

Hello all... So i have an Asus Zenfone 2 4GB and last night it just died. I twas on 8% when i put it on the original charger then after an hour i checked it was still at 8%. So i guess its frozen lets do a restart. I pressed restart but it never came on again. No light as well on charging light, I read that it might be bricked or something but i don't have any asus shop near since i bought this from the internet.
My main concern is saving the 400 pictures i have on it bcs i haven't had a backup (i am an idiot i know). any chance of doing that with any software etc????

Oneplus One Reboot Issue : Suggestion or Help Needed

My OPO is having a reboot issue, was on cos13, cm14.1 and ubuntu with mutirom,
Symptoms
1. the phone stays on if connected to a charger or powerbank.
and without charger it bootloops at the 1+ logo
2. in switched off state, when charger is connected the battery sometimes shows 0% and increases to 100%
3. with charger i entered cm recovery, removed the charger, the phone stayed all night long with cm recovery menu display on.
after draining the battery, i plugged back charger and the phone in switched off state did show the regular charging animation and took the usual time to full charge.
after full charge I removed the charger, tried to power on the phone boot loops at 1+ logo.
4. without charger it can enter fastboot mode.
5. with charger it can boot into os, shows charging, led lit up, but after removing charger it won't stay long, also if opening camera it turns off.
6. even on powerbank it can boot up and stay switched on. and work normally (camera etc anything)
(7. while turned off and on charger the animation shows charging but the top led isn't on.) - I don't remember it lighting up on charging while switched off
8. the night before this issue occured, my phone rebooted twice while watching youtube. and in the previous nights also I noticed battery dropping overnight.
what all I tried,
1. fastboot flashed cos, - not solved
2. flashed using Qualcomm USB port tool - not solved.
3. ran the make_ext4fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p15 command in twrp. - not solved.
4. erased and flashed persist.img - not solved.
so what could be the problem, opo is now my secondary phone, now using op3 as primary.
The battery is at its end of its life....replace the battery and all your problem will be gone...
you're not the only one that have experiences this problem (i have seen more then 10 people having the same problem)...last year and this year there a lot of people having bootloop problem due to dying battery...factory reset, flash stock rom and etc won't help you solved this problem...
i personally have this problem last year and after i replace the battery all my problem gone...i think Oneplus made OPO batteries only lasted for 2 and a half year....

thanks for the reply i guessed that, but still wasn't sure, can it be also due to any issues to board, anyway since i've done with flashing and all i'll try an OP service center, and hope it won't costs me big.

Nope it is not issues with the motherboard but batteries...the phone can be turn on like normal when charger is connected and goes into bootloop once the charger is disconnected....its a clear sign that the battery is dying...when it connected to the charger, it may look like the battery is full but it is not...just buy a new battery and all your problem will be gone...you can try flashing lot of rom, revert to stock or whatever you do in fastboot but it ain't gonna help you...it might boot normally but within an hour it will goes back to bootloop....
like i said before i was on the same pages as you last year...all the flashing stuff didn't work until i replace the battery....there no issues with the motherboard whatsoever....my phone still work atm without any bootloop problem...
feel free to go to OP services center if you want, if they tell you it was a motherboard issues then you have been screwed by the services center by repairing something that is still in good condition and you gonna pay more then just a batteries afterwards...

I have almost exactly the same problem. The thing is I cannot find a way to enter multirom recovery even on a charger. When on a charger it tries to boot into my primary rom but gets stuck on it endlessly.
Are you sure its the battery? I mean, mine charges to 100% when plugged in and doesnt seem to have any problem with charging. Mine did it a few days ago, it went into a bootloop for no reason. I havent touched anything for a year and it happened so randomly and lost everything I had on it...

Hey dude Thanks a lot... I was facing exactly same issue for last 2 days... I bought OPO on Dec 5 th 2014... I think its battery only works 2 years...
@iPusak Gaoq™, tried to get a suitable battery online but the shipping charge killed most deals, some were even counterfeits, so finally I decided to visit an op service centre, they replaced the battery with a new one, now my OPO is good as new. thanks again.
I was just going to post, about my issue, but the forum suggested your post. I read the first post, and yes, I am facing the exact same problem. Taking a picture and the phone shuts off. Vibrating from getting a notification and restart.
And the saddest part, the phone won't boot into OS if is it not plugged to PC or AC power.
My Opo is almost two years old. Can you suggest a good battery replacement for me?

Hard to suggest which batteries is good if you planning to bought it online cause there no way you can know whether the batteries you gonna buy is original or OEM...only when you bought the batteries in a retail store then you can see whether its original or OEM and yes the differences between both batteries is noticeable...

Today I used my LG G3 phone normally, after I did a call, I checked my phone after about 1 hour but the phone was off and won't turn on or charge, I tried to remove the battery and plug it again, but nothing happened, I also tried to enter the recovery but it won't get into it, after many tries I removed the battery for about 20 min. then I tried again, finally!! the LG logo appeared but it didn't last for long and the phone switched off again and won't turn on again. Any helps please? thanks in advance.
