[Completed] Nokia N900 - XDA Assist

Hi, I was cleaning my wardrobe and I found my old Nokia N900. Looks like Maemo is dead so I wanted to replace it with Tinzen or Ubuntu Os but I can't find any simple guide. I'm not tech guru but once I have clear guidelines I can do it.
Please help.
Or if you have suggestion of other useful OS to consider.
Best Regards,

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. This device doesn't really fit within the scope of what XDA is about, but I did manage to find one thread that details how to get an old version of Android (2.3) running on an N900 here:
Android gingerbread 2.3.1 on Nokia N900 step by step installation guide
For the real development for this device though you're better off heading to maemo.org
Good luck!

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. I can't find any custom firmware for your tablet anywhere, unfortunately this is pretty common for these unknown and low-spec devices. The only thing you can really do is keep a lookout in this section and hope something pops up:
Android Development and Hacking
Good luck!
Thread closed, thanks.

[Completed] AOSP based rom compiling for specific devices

I am basically a noob when it comes to building/compiling. I basically want to know if it would be possible to create an OS for my phone based on AOSP without too much work.
Total noob idea; maybe combining a zip from a custom rom/ normal firmware, and the AOSP code?

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
We cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist and since you forgot to mention which device you have in mind, I can't point you towards a device-specific area. That said, there are some thread such as the one at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2483143 that night be good starting places for your quest, as well as several articles in our "XDA University" at http://xda-university.com such as the guide at http://xda-university.com/as-a-developer/porting-aosp-roms-using-source-code. Not all data there is always up-to-date but it covers a wealth of information in one convenient place.
Good luck!

Hello again.
There is no forum specifically for the Samsung Galaxy XCover 2 GT S 7710 at this time but if the links provided earlier are not sufficient, you may want to ask your question with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help. Since your device is relatively uncommon, please be patient and give the experts plenty of time to respond.
Once again, good luck!

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
We cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist. There is no area specifically dedicated to Lowa OS but I see a few threads about that OS from a site search at http://forum.xda-developers.com/sitesearch.php?q=lowaos which might be worth reviewing. Since you don't specify which device using the snapdragon 615 you have in mind, I can't point you towards a device-specific forum, but merely suggest that you may also find it useful (and possibly educational) to browse our "XDA University" entries at http://xda-university.com which cover a variety of topics for both users and developers alike. Not all data there is always up-to-date but it covers a wealth of information in one convenient place. You may also want to ask your question (without the oversize font, please!) with all relevant details in the friendly general Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help. That's a good place to start where members familiar with your OS and device might be able to advise you.
Good luck!

[Completed] [Q] Planning to start building my own ROM, a cry for help (Samsung G. Grand Prime VE)

Firstly, happy new year to everyone c:
As the title says, I'm considering making my own ROM for the SM-G731F.
I've lurked around XDA for quite a while now and I can't seem to find a guide that's able to clarify the process for me.
So I decided to make a post here,
The ROM I want to make should be something as close to AOSP as possible (for what I've seen, no Cyanogen or ROMs alike are available, so..), but my programming skills are lacking.
Even with guides about building or porting ROMs I haven't yet figured out where to start.
So here come a few questions:
1. Can I build a AOSP ROM for my Samsung device (AFAIK I need some base ROM right?)
2. Assuming that porting is not an option, is building a ROM from scratch a viable way to do this? (Even though my programming skills are close to none I've had some experience with C and I'm willing to put in the effort)
3. What will be the main challenges to this?
Cheers,

[Completed] (How to) Run android on Nokia 635?

I read an outdated article (howtogeek,com/howto/20703/run-android-on-your-windows-mobile-phone/) which directed me to this forum.
Is there any way to go about running Android OS on a Nokia Lumia 635 (512 RAM version)? (More specifically, is there already a solved topic on this subject that someone can direct me to?) Even if it's extremely complicated, It's been done before.
Thanks in advance.
