[Completed] [Q] Sudden deterioration of video quality in NFL GamePass after flashing new Rom - XDA Assist

I just flashed my Minix Neo X7 with the "X7 Kitkat v2.2.0 Community Edition" Rom taken from the Minix community forums. Basically everything works fine. Video playback, streaming, light gaming, with one glaring exception.
I am a subscriber to the NFL GamePass and installed on the new box. I have attached a zip the screenshots of the video quality I am getting on the app.
I am running the box in 1080i at 60 fps through to my TV. Changing the video output settings, restarting the device and re-installing the App did not change matter at all. This problem also does not occur on any of my other android devices.
I am waiting for a response from their customer support, however, I think I can find more competent technical help among the xda community.
Does anybody have any idea what causes this problem / how to fix it?
Thanks in advance for all your help!

Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. We can't really comment on a ROM that was obtained outside of XDA, especially without a fairly intimate knowledge of its inner workings. Plus the best people to answer your question are the support team that you've already contacted. So, with that information it's best to just wait for their support to get back to you and take it from there.
Good luck!

[Completed] [Q] Symbian modding - remove exclusive hold of media hardware

Hi,
First time here. Heard about XDA over the years.
I have a Nokia N8. I haveSymDVR installed, so I use my phone as a dash cam.
Since the N8 has a FM transmitter, I'd also like to use it to play music via the FM transmitter whilst having SymDVR running (camera recording). Now at the moment it doesn't work because I believe when you record, the camera app get an exclusive lock on the 'media hardware'.
I was looking into modding the phone myself seeing that I didn't find any results of existing work of the above, however, the modding posts I've come across no longer has images in the posts.
Is there already a firmware/patch out there, is there a more appropriate crowd of people that I can ask on XDA?
Any help would be appreciated.
TL;DR: Want to be able to play music and record video at the same time on the Nokia N8 - running Symbian. Is there an existing project or modding group of people I can speak to about this?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Unfortunately XDA is all about the Android and Windows Phone platforms, but not Symbian, so there isn't really anything we can offer you. I'm sure there are dedicated Symbian modding sites out there that shouldn't be too hard to find.
Good luck!
Thanks for the reply!
I thought XDA had a Symbian section a while back, but when I tried to search yesterday I couldn't find anything.

[Completed] Assistance with blocking unknown calls, SMS & mms

I am one who is currently and desperately trying to block these unprovoked calls and messages from unknown and not from my contacts. One can says simply that I should go to the play store and download an app or two. My issue is that this solution, even with supposedly the best apps I got from there, they do not work all the time. I'm thinking that there but more of a professional approach to this issue which so much of us have and are experiencing. From my minimal knowledge of handling and managing a rooted phone, I do believe that many more options are opened for this issue. But the only things which I can think of as to why that would be are that the stock rom was not built as stable as a custom rom where it's built a lot better, with many more features too. I know a little of exposed and have used a rom with but never known if it has modules for this. Therefore, I turn to the experts here at XDA to please let me know how the experts would handle my situation so that I can follow their lead. Thank you very much and happy holidays.

[Completed] How can I save my Xiaomi Mi4i?

Hey everyone,
I bought a Mi4i at the start of the year and right from the get go, there is a definitive lag whenever I use it. This can be seen when I'm typing out a message to someone, switching between apps, playing small games, etc... It's infuriating as I bought the phone solely for the reason that it wouldn't lag because of it's excellent specifications.
I've tried uninstalling all apps I don't use regularly, I've tried switching Bluetooth off as well- basically I've removed all background processes and apps but there's still no improvement. I'm at the end of my wits now, what can I do to speed this phone up and actually have it behave like a good phone?
I've considered rooting it and putting a different rom onto it but from what I've researched, apparently MIUI is faster than both cyanogen and stock android.
Help me please!

[Completed] Metawatch M1 companion app no longer works

Ok, so I have a a Metawatch M1 and so does another family member. Up until recently the app worked fine to connect the phone and the watch. recently the app has stopped working and only gives the error message which states, "Initializing failed, please, check your internet connection and try again." I have tested this app on a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 7, T-Mobile HTC M8 running Marshmallow, and a T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z1s. running Lollipop. All devices yielded the same results. The M1 watch is a nice looking watch that isn't as feature rich as an Android Wear watch but I don't think I need all those features. Is there anyway that the app can be made to stop connecting to the internet since metawatch went out of business?

[Completed] Weird sound all media players.

Hi all
Sorry for any inconvenience but I started to have this problem where the sound goes weird.
I can't really explain this as it's like someone is fast forwarding the sound although it's actually in sync.
Anyhow I have tried a few media players and also the codes recommended to play ac3 and other unsupported sounds with no luck. Some of them had a all in one too.
This issue happens only to some videos and some streaming videos so I was wondering if anyone can help since I have had no joy.
I am using a Samsung s6 edge plus.
Thanks for reading
Hope you guys can help.
So I guessing this is a unique problem???
Ohh good God nobody knows what this problem is. I also posted on android central and ipmart too nobody seems to know.
