I've checked a .mov video recorded on iPhone 6 but can't reproduce this issue.
Are you using latest version? One of old version has audio track selection issue.

I have updated to the latest version on Google play. You may wish to check it with a video taken by Iphone 4 then. If you cannot find one please tell me where I could upload for you a sample,

What's your device? I've tried some of my devices but can't reproduce this issue.
Also try HW+ decoder, it can detect audio track better than HW decoder.

Selected hw+ and now it's ok. My tablet is HP 10 android 4.1.2.
Tell me please, is there anyway to get truly full screen viewing experience? I mean whereby black bar with three white dots at the bottom will completely disappear?

I think HP 10 has software navigation buttons.
Check if following options is checked: settings > Player > Software navigation buttons.

It has and its checked. The buttons are not visible during the playback. However the issue is that I get a "black bar" of about 1 centimeter at the bottom of my screen, at the place where those buttons are.

It is issue of old Android tablet UI, typically happens on Honeycomb and ICS but your device looks like following ICS UI layout even though it is JellyBean actually. There is no workaround for it, unfortunately.

You can use an app to hide the notification bar, they require root though

I have the HP tablet that seems was developed for Indian market (and they sell it in Thailand too.) I tried a good number of rooting ways, all of them weren't successful.

[Fixed] [Bug] MXPlayer doesn't play video on Android L (Nexus 5)

Hi all,
Thanks for creating MXPlayer, really missing it now since it doesn't work on Android 'L'.
On Android 4.4.4 it works as it should.
Anyway, about the bug:
- MXPlayer (Pro) App can start without any problems
- Opening a video with MXPlayer > crash
I have already tried switching between HW/SW, but it doesn't make a different.
Hope it can be solved.
If more (debug) info is needed, please let me know.

@bleu8888 I assume that since MX test build worked on Android L preview, that MX now works on ART?
Sure, it is ART. Actually I did not find any problem so far on using mx on my Nexus 5 with Android L Preview.
Frankly speaking, I cannot feel any improvement with ART because Nexus 5 was fast enough even with Dalvik

Does the new build test support AVI on Android L Preview on Nexus 5?
I have no luck playing AVI files on Android L Preview both from built-in G+ Photos app and MX Player HW+/HW/SW rendering. I wonder whether Android does not natively supports AVI or not.
I'm still using MX Player Pro from Play Store right now on Android L Preview. It runs normal on HW rendering with MP4 x264, but no luck with HW+/SW rendering.
Will try later tonight with the new test build and provide logcat if necessary.
Update:
HW+ and AVI works on the MX Player Pro test build for Android L preview. Yay!
I also found a bug where the system sound was muted, MX Player Pro test build sound still passed through the muted system sound.

Just tested this out with no luck. Audio was still passed through the speaker though system sound was disabled as shown on the status bar - vibrate only.
Perhaps there's a bug on the L preview and not MX Player?

I think you have totally misunderstood. Android have individual volume controls for different activities. In my knowledge almost all android systems, If you set on mute/vibrate, it will basically mute only all alert tones like System, Notification, Alarm & Ring Volumes. It does not mute media volume. There is no such native global volume control that can block media volume. There are some custom roms like cyanogen mod which can block volume volume keys. But, that will not also work with media volume.
So, It's not a MX Player bug. It's a lack of android feature.
Look at the volume control settings screenshot which is taken while my mobile is set on mute mode.

[Bug] MX Player latest release hangs on exiting video on Galaxy S5

I'm having an issue similar to http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/mx-player/bug-mx-player-responding-t2856695 - but instead of pausing video, if I press the Back button or the device home button, MX Player hangs on a white screen. I have to attempt a hard-restart to get back to the home screen, then manually dismiss the device.
Running a T-Mobile Galaxy S5 with AllianceROM.
I saved a report with MX Log Collector but I can't find it - where on the device does it save the report? I'll upload and link it.

I cannot find any problem in the log. MX Player finished playback with no problem.
Did MX hanged on your last try? If it continues please try upgrading your ROM.
Many custom ROMs are not stable even though it looks not likely.

It's been fine on Alliance ROM since several versions ago - I got it about a week after the S5 came out. Moreover, it's now failing to load.
I uninstalled, reinstalled, and it comes up, plays, but if I press Back during playback, it keeps playing audio. I had to pull the battery to get it to stop.
Now, it exhibits the failure to start. Even after another reboot, still fails.
I downgraded to .29, and I don't have any issues - I've disabled automatic updating so I can at least function in the meantime.
Log attached from when I launched MX Player and it failed to load on latest version.

Are you using stock rom?
Do you have problem with all videos or only in particular formats?
If it's in some of the videos can you post the media info too?

Nope, the ROM is AllianceROM, but it's basically the stock S5 ROM with the Samsung apps and crap removable by the end-user. It's more or less if you gotta have Touchwiz (I've got a Galaxy Gear, so yeah, that's a requirement) but if you don't want S this, S that, etc.
What would you like to know about the media? I mentioned before it's h264 encoded MKVs and standard AVIs - really old AVIs, like upwards of probably 10ish years old, but I can get more.

[Bug Report][Solved] Permanent overlay after video plays in background

Hi,
For the last couple of mxplayer updates, I've had an issue when I play video in the background. After I bring the app back to the foreground, the video 'title' in the overlay stays on the screen. If I bring the overlay up again by tapping, I get two titles on top of each other. To reproduce:
Play a video
With the video still playing, go back to the launcher (or another app)
Video keeps playing (correctly)
Re-open mx player
Video keeps playing, but the extra overlay is there
My nexus 4 has soft-buttons, that are set to autohide. I think that this is related - when I tap to remove the overlay there is a small (<1 second) window where the overlay is gone and the buttons still appear; I can avoid this problem by going back to the launcher in that window.
I'm running a nexus4, with stock lollipop (5.0.1). This only started happening in the last couple of mxplayer versions; it worked originally after I updated to lollipop when it came out.
I've attached the bug report .zip and two screenshots, both taken after reopening the app, while the video was playing. The second is after I tap to bring up the overlay; the duplication is clear there. This happens with any video; its not video specific.
I also have a same issue in z3. Sometime video title sticks in overlay.
This still happens with the latest update from the play store (v1.7.38)

@bleu8888 Enable auto rotation mode in mx and place the phone in portrait orientation. Now play any video then click on pause and again long press on pause button. Background play service will be enabled. Press home button, mx will be minimised. Now place the phone in landscape orientation and open mx player from notification bar (mx currently playing as background service). There you will see a bug. Its only on rare case.
note: I am on latest beta build.

Xiaomi mi box problem

Hi, I have problem which I can't explain. When I am trying to play my movies from the nas (synology), many of times is not playing. I see the circle and stuck there. When I restart the box, it's ok for once, until I want to see another movie. Then i have to restart the box again. I dont have the same problem with other players such as bs or vlc. I am curious what is going wrong.

Custom codecs are just customized FFmpeg libraries & will not improve anything functionally on network streaming.
probably, there might be some other issues which got fixed automatically.
I have downloaded a ts file from iptv server ( in windows) and transferred it to mi box.. unfortunately mi box video player did not play it while xmtv player can play it.. If I can make system video player can play that ts file i can use of my iptv app.. which does not work on mi box.. I am sure that's about system default codec.. and I do not know how can I change and work with media_codecs.xml in /system/etc/media_codecs.xml
I have almost found the problem and need help for resolve it..
as I knew.. problem happens because of width and height of some videos..it is important for me to play this samples with Mi Mdeiapalyer app..as system player..
system player can not play these .....although they could be played by other players such as mx player.. I give you three sample of those videos

Hi,
This is a firmware bug. MX Player has nothing to do with it. Kindly post it in the appropriate subforum.

Cannot fast forward since 1.10.17

Hi,
I just updated to version 1.10.17 and since this I cannot fast forward my mpeg-ts videos anymore (streamed from my VU+ box). This worked just fine the second before the update.
Sent from my phone
I also ran into the same problem, or worse as I'm forced to watch the entire video in one sitting because if paused, the player restarts from the beginning of the video instead of resuming. Everything was running great yesterday before the update to the new version.
I've the same problem with TS files too. After the recent update, once I touch the scrollbar, it jumps to the beginning of the movie. MPEG2 VOB files also have similar problem, but instead of jumping to the beginning, it seams to jump to random position.
There is also another problem with TS. I can see multiple subtitles in subtitle menu, but the selected subtitle doesn't display. This problem also appears after the recent update.

Hi,
I am using LG V30+, on beta stream of MX player, i am not able to forward or resume the .MKV files in my mobile. but the same version of MX player working fine with Redmi K20.
Is there any particular update or fix need to be done from MX player end ? to fix the issue.
I am having the same problem
I can no longer FF or skip forward it just snaps back to the original spot. I am now using other players but I used to like MX and would like to be able to use it again.
Same problem with mkv. Always from start, any seeking disabled. I use maximum speed to seek to where I want and use slowest speed instead of pausin. Please, fix.
