You can format the SD card in twrp its called internal storage.

Wondering if it is possible to move files I currently have saved on an old SD card into the internal memory on the phone temporarily... to then move them off internal memory back to my normal SD card.
I'd like to accomplish this just using my phone and with out using a computer to transfer files, is it possible?
Yes, it is.
How so? Can you please provide further instruction?

Hi !
You can easely do that, providing your device is rooted, with either Root Explorer or ES Explorer... pushing files from SDcard to system.
Cheers !

Make sure you have enough space to accommodate all the files in /sdcard (e.g. df /data). You can use file explorer such as ES File Explorer to copy the files to internal storage. If you have non-rooted phone, you can copy to /data/local/tmp.

Remove stock notification, alarm and ringtone files, and replace them with my own. To me that would be neat.

why dont u just search, itz already present there....

I just swaped my internal and external sd card by changing out ext_card and sdcard in /etc/vold.fstab
The swap works fine after restart.
I tried to copy everything from the sdcard to the external card, so it would be possible to use the apps again.
But it won't work after restart. If I swap it back it works like before.
What am I doing wrong or miss? Is there something I have to edit?
I only find tutorials for swaping and not really moving apps after swap.
I tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548546
But the swap didnt work and the moving didnt work either. Thats why I did the swap manually with text editor as described in here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2045778
Thanks for input
Maybe I should add that I copied all files with rootbrowser directly on the phone by selecting all folders and copy them.
Will that copy everything? Or maybe do I have to use a shell with adb?
Re: swap, sd-ext
you need to copy everything, including the hidden "." folders, like ".android_secure", "Android".... you can use an the "Aroma File Manager in CWM mode", (try to search the forums), i used it to move everything because if Android is running even in Root Explorer i t wont let me move the files from sdcard to ext card vice versa....
cool, that worked fine! thanks
thought it would be better to do it with cwm, but didn't know that there is a filemanager, that is definitely convenient!!
your welcome

Hello all. My niece has a Experia E that she got from her parents (with no input from me ) and now she's running up against low storage messages. I guess its a lot of bloat ware they have installed cause she hardly has anything on them. Is it true the phone has 7++ MB of app storage?
Are there easy ways to increase this? Do custom roms support more storage? I tried Apps2SD but with the phone not being rooted there wasn't much luck there.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Help me be a better uncle

You need Root for this.
Copy "vold.fstab" from system/etc on your memory card then edit it by any text editor from phone or pc
Replace "sdcard" with "ext_card" & "ext_card" with "sdcard" from everywhere on "vold.fstab".
Then replace previous "vold.fstab" with new modified "vold.fstab" & set permission to rw-r-r / 644
Now you successfully your memory card/ext card as internal storage & internal storage as memory card/ext card.
Thanks

Dude,
Do not recommend stuff like this. You can easily hard brick your device like this!
My recommendation is to root it, remove bloatware, and unroot it so your niece can't delete anything vital when it's done!
Hope I helped.

I've come across this exact same issue as well. It wants to download to the internal memory and then you have to move it to the external memory. Trying to figure this out as well.
Developers don't need no stinkin' signature!
