Hi Bros,
Did anyone know what LTE modem will be used in S6? As S6 not using Snapdragon 810 anymore, but using Exynos 7420, so the LTE modem is no way using Qualcomm Gobi LTE modem. Why I ask this question because in US, ATT only support Qualcomm Gobi modem. I own a Note 4 with N910U version but cannot use ATT LTE as the modem is from Intel 7260. ATT block all other modem. As S6 not come with 810 chip, ATT should update their software/hardware in order to support the coming business of S6. My N910U may be also benefit and can use LTE.

Not only that, they still need Qualcomm for CDMA networks. I am pretty sure it is going to be Exynos 7420 + Qualcomm modem combo.

If in this case, I'm no hope to use LTE with my N910U. Too bad.

The LTE frequencies used by AT&T (850/1800MHz) are the same as the LTE frequencies used on these phones (also 850/1800MHz). Considering these are unlocked phones, could I use them with AT&T's LTE network in the USA? I'd love to get some of that Snapdragon 800 power in the S4 but not if I couldn't use LTE.
Thanks!

Anyone? I'm waiting on a yes or no to purchase one so any help would be greatly appreciated!
The Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3(I535) has the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 plus MSM 8960 processor. The Qualcomm MSM 8960 is capable of supporting LTE band 13 and LTE Band 4(AWS).
The S3 only supports LTE Band 13
Q1. Is there firmware that will make this device support LTE Band4(AWS) also?
Q2. Is there a SW to make VOLTE calls using the S3?
I am looking to unlock LTE Band 4(AWS) on my VzW GS3.
Thanks in advance,
I don’t know anything about the bands but if I'm correct volte is unsupported. I don't think any of the major carriers even support volte.

Verizon does in NYC. You need the right flash.
Hey I heard that Galaxy S6 will be powered by Exynos. So, I am currently using note 3 and 3G variant is powered by exynos while the 4G one is by Snapdragon qualcomm
So, will all S6 variants be powered by exynos? In fact, will there be a 3G variant ? I need to know that because in note 3 i have had lack development because most awesome roms are for 4G one and I can't install them on my 3G. This time, i am gonna buy 4G one but what model number will 4G S6 be?
All S6/S6E will have Exynos SoC and 4G/LTE.

So , there will be no 3G Variant?
Correct, no 3G-only version. All will have LTE. In the past, Samsung flagships with the Snapdragon SoC had LTE but the Exynos versions did not. Now all S6/S6E will have an Exynos SoC with LTE.
I am looking to purchasing either the Galaxy S8+ or the Note 8. I am curious about what i should go with the Exynos or the Snapdragon.
I really like to be able to in the future install linageOS onto it. However I still want it to work with T-Mobile's network.
Is there any real reason that Exynos has not made it stateside?
Note 8 isn't out and neither are any benchmarks comparing the exynos and sd835 head to head.
Samsung doesn't have a cdma modem for sprint/verizon so they need qualcomms modem, which is bundled with the 835 soc.
You'll need to import the international version from europe, pretty sure it'll work on tmobile.
Wouldn't the S8 forums be better for this?

Hello everyone. As many of us first posters here, I have a problem:
I've bought an north american J327U from someone I know, and that person only used it at home with their wi-fi. It's got an Exynos chipset, and no support for the LTE bands from where I live in (which are completely different from the USA's LTE bands).
After quite a bit of research, I found here and elsewhere methods to change LTE support for Qualcomm devices, but had no luck finding any for Exynos devices. Is there any way to do the same thing for devices with Exynos chipset, or am I stuck with no LTE? I also know it deppends on the hardware support for that, in my case I would need support for bands 3 (1800mhz), 7 (2600mhz) and 28 (700mhz). The phone covers none of those.
My device is not yet rooted, but I'm fine with doing so if needed.
Thanks in advance for any help.
I don't think you can physically change the bands unfortunately.
