[Q] Screen write image quality not good - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Sometimes I am trying to take a screenshot and crop it right after. Screen write through air-command enable us to do that. However, does anyone
finds that the quality of the image is not good once entering the editing mode?

IMO that's likely something that the software is doing on purpose (adding a mild gaussian blur) to make any annotations that we do on top of the screenshot stand out over the background image.
If that's something you don't want to do then avoid the screen write command altogether and just take a straight screen shot (press and hold power and home simultaneously). Then open up the screen shot in another program to annotate on it. I like to use Skitch but the quality does degrade a little bit there too. I'm sure one can find an application/workflow combination that works though . .

[REQUEST] Touch focus on camera app

Hi,
I recently took my Nexus on a trip and used it to take some 300 pictures. It's amazing the quality of the photos it takes, but one thing that really bothered me at times was the fact that the camera would always focus at the centre of the picture, while the important part might be at one of the sides.
Would it be possible to add a "touch to focus" feature in the stock camera app? What do you guys think?
Hold down on the "shutter" button to adjust your focus. Once you get a green box around your screen, that focal length will be retained until you let go of the button and a picture is taken.
If you slide your finger off the button (as in, without lifting), you can release the focus without taking a picture.
Not sure if that's the same thing you're looking for, but it's a hidden feature in the stock camera app.

Dude! Why wasn't I informed of this before!
Thanks a lot for the tip, I will make good use of it!

App? (is there a better screen capture)

I was wondering if there is a better screen capture for android. I know about drocap2 and screen grabber, but they both share a common flaw. In order to capture a shot I must exit what I'm viewing, activate the app , then go back to where I was before, and then vigorously shake to trigger. I don't want to do that, nor do I want that ugly camera in my notification tray all the time and do a pull down trigger effect. Anyways im just looking for an app that can be set with long press or whatever set of hardware button combination. Thanks

Front Screen Button Order Edit option missing

Given that the front screen is quite usable, it's odd that the Notification tile button order edit is missing. The button order is actually set by the main screen button order, which kind of makes sense from a consistency perspective, however given that the stock launcher allows a different front wallpaper / setup, I think the button order for the front screen should also be independent.

.
It's available in the main screen, which applies any changes to both. Unless you're expecting to have different layouts for each screen, which isn't possible and probably for good reason.
.
EDIT: Oops I didn't read your entire message and I now see what you mean. But I don't see any real advantage of having different setups, I use the same ones regardless.

Sony screenshot function ruined in Android 11

What just happened? Well it seems Sony (or Google) have managed to make taking a screenshot a lottery when pressing and holding the power button.
Before you would get a nice little screenshot button beside the power button while still being able to view what's on the screen.
Now screen goes black (seriously?) and a screenshot button appears at the top of the phone. Good luck taking a screenshot of a video or something similar, it's pure lottery.
Also before you got a sub menu after the screenshot was taken for a quick delete, edit etc and now Sony have managed to cover up the delete option with a mini picture of what's just been screenshot.
Pretty poor Sony, massive stuff up!
Or is it just me?
Well that's 2 posts I've seen to put me off 11 already . This does sound pretty poor. I use the power button screenshot feature a lot.
Does the Google assistant screenshot option work any better? Have to hold the home soft button and choose Share Screenshot for that one. For some reason pressing the dedicated assistant button doesn't show it!
You have option to go to All Apps View(Running apps pressing square from 3 button navigation) and from there you can take screenshot of that particular app.
It seems it's more and Android 11 issue (they call it a feature) which, for me, is worse than 10.
Yes you can now take a screenshot using the square apps button but that also freezes the screen as soon as you press it making video screenshots hopeless still.
I now have to use AZ screen recorder.
God I hate it when a company "improves" a feature like this.
Good to know about the new screenshot feature using the running apps menu. I guess for taking screenshots of videos then the 3rd party app option is going to be the only choice. Unless they fix the screenshot issue in a future update .
So I got the Android 11 update today and decided to check out the screenshot problem. I now see what happens with the black screen when playing video.
That said, the screenshot does actually still capture the video, as you can see from the photo I uploaded.
I guess it would be nice if the video didn't disappear when doing this but the functionality of taking a shot from the video is there. Not sure if that helps anything?
The little pic does seem to be hiding the old delete option you are right. Unless the delete option has just been removed entirely?

Device with Android OS on which I can open my favorite Camera app straight from Lock Screen, without PIN

I keep losing Photo/Video opportunities on great moments, for two reasons:
My device doesn't let me choose which Camera app to open from Lock Screen's shortcut.
(only the native Camera app, which sucks)
I must type my PIN to be able to even open the native Camera app.
I keep telling myself that my next phone must have a way to be able to open my favorite Camera app straight from the Lock Screen, without having to type my PIN or struggling with the "swipe up" gesture to actually show the keypad (which many times doesn't display on first try). It's just frustrating.
Is there any device that actually does this?
And as a bonus question... why are all native Camera apps now forcing us to "swipe" to move from "Photo" to "Video" mode, which just slows down everything even more? Why can't the "Take Photo" and "Start Recording" buttons be on the SAME screen?
In the lower right corner of the home screen of my phone, there is indeed a launch icon of my native camera app. But I found that it doesn't work at all. I don't know why. :-(
It works for me. I put Open Camera there. However, it requires me to put the PIN.
I can also set up the Volume Down/Up key to open the Camera App, without PIN, but unfortunately that only supports the native Camera app, which sucks.
my phone has this feature when the screen is lock and dimmed black you can press VOL- button 3x and camera would open thou you still need to enter pin to view the capture images
