3/2/2015 - Vanir 2/7/15 Kernel
3/9/2015 - Paranoid Kernel for the D800
3/13/2015 - Back to Vanir, 3/13/2015 Kernel
Thanks:
Vanir for Kernel work
Chainfire for Root, SuperSU
Paranoid for GAPPS.
Thank you!! I am loving it!! You made my day!!
I am rather new to G2, and had been tinkering with root, recovery, custom roms, etc over the weekend, but was a little sad that there no lollipop roms yet, not even stock. Then this came up, and I had to try it.
I reverted my G2 back to D80010d (jelly bean), rooted (via ioroot), installed TWRP recovery (via freegee), and then did a clean install of this Cyanogenmod 12. Everything seems to be working great. System seems stable, all the apps work as they should, all the customizable options are working, and lollipop feels just smooth and clean to boot. Absolutely loving it!
Many many thanks!! This is a God-send!!
Thanks very much! Works like a charm. Everything is working on my D800.
Been running the 2/13/15 CM12 for the D802 with the B1akbird kernel and it's been really good as a daily driver. Will download this one and see how it goes. Thanks a lot.
I assume this is the SuperSU you are referring to, http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133.

Just a heads up, check out the LG G2 development and the G2 original development threads as many LP rom builds are posted there which are built for all G2 variants, including D800.
Sorry OP for pointing to other threads in yours, but I just want to ensure that those new to the G2 experience everything.

Thank you! Glad to know and excited to see there are many more options, like Vanir, Omni, Cloudy, etc. But if I'm not mistaken, it seems like the Cyanogenmod 12 in that forum has ceased development, stuck on Dec 27, 2014.
I'm very much loving this Cyanogenmode 12 for D800, so I do very much hope development of this rom will be kept up, hopefully becoming official like the Cy 11. I'm more than willing to donate to help too.
Thanks again to OP and bps119!

Day 3 and still working fine. Tried all of the others in the LG G2 forum, this one is the best lollipop to date.
Is anyone having issues with connecting their phone to their computer? I'm trying to access the USB connection menu on my phone and it just refreshes the Storage screen. The phone isn't even detected on the computer at all.

Try turning off USB debugging (turn off developer options), you should then be able to see your storage partition.
Working well for me so far! The other CM12 I couldnt get to work 100% for me but everything seems to be working well. Still installing all of my old stuff so I will post if some negatives popup.

Hi, i had downloaded everything on your list, but have some questions:
i'm on stock rom 4.4.2 d80020k rooted with TWRP, cant remember if i have a custom kernel (dont think so, any way to check out?), i'm good to flash it?
do i have to flash it like this: Cm12->SU->Gapps? or CM12->Restart,->SU->Restart, Gapps->done?
thanks on advance

The Kernel will be included in the CM12 Package, You will be upgrading to 5.0.2 so anything 4.4.2 related will not be there besides basebands, and bootloader.
Flash like this: CM12>Gapps>SU, then Restart. (I don't think the order matters after CM12, but thats what I recommend) :good:
Enjoy
MMS
I decided to try this ver of cm12 after going 5 months full stock. I'm glad I did, its allmost flawless. The only problem I'm encountering is MMS. Can't send pictures and not sure if I can receive. I'm on the latest build in this post. Otherwise its sweet!!:highfive:

801 updates? But, I have a D800.
Doesn't matter the method to me personally. I just wouldn't want to have to wipe her phone each time there is an update.
Working beautifully for her I might add!

Right, I do too but I'm using D801's CM updates and modifying it for the d800. You can dirty flash the updates for this ROM! (Install without wipe)

Notes:
Should update bootloader. It is attached as a ZIP file but is not flashable! You need to fastboot flash it. For those in windows I have batch file in there along with ADB and fastboot.
First boot is a loooooooooooong time! About 5 to 7 minutes!
You must be on TWRP 2.8.1.0+ for this ROM to Flash properly!
Troubleshooting
If you get no status bar reboot to recovery and clear all cache. If that doesnt work try flashing the factory image then flash TWRP again and then this ROM.
Getting Symlinks failed during install? Make sure /system is unchecked in TWRP mounts
Problems with internal storage? Look at THIS POST for fix by @freakzapster
Root not working right? Flash newer SuperSU by @Chainfire but play store update should be fine!

Let me know what you guys think... They changed some things around and I am "semi" anticipating problems. Obviously I had zero testing time beings I started on it as soon as I got out of work and upload it after a very minimal function test: Play Store, Hangouts, GPS, Maps and that was it.
Let me know if you see any issues.
Well that was fast!
Apart from updated binaries any other noticeable changes?
Thanks! Been waiting for this one ☺.
You mention in OP updating bootloader- what version is required? Say I'm on ver 4.02, do I need to update it?

Normally me too , but I figured since it was only a minor update and I was already running the same stock 5.0.0 ROM I'd give it a try. Eveything seems fine so far. No issues at all yet.
Flashed ROM , works great. Ty scrosler
Edit: Sadly tons of 3rd party apps still haven't been updated for Lollipop even after almost 1 month since it was released. Minion Rush and Dead Trigger 2 still work like I have a 2009 device. It's the app's fault or Lollipop's hardware acceleration or memory management, but I am 80% sure that it's because those apps haven't been updated. They work fine for 2 seconds then another 2-3 seconds they go into slow motion mode and sadly I have to go back to KK until this is fixed
Dirty flashed over stock rooted 5.0.0... No issues... And no noticeable differences between both, so far.
Are there any problems if we use CWM instead of TWRP? I'm not a TWRP kid of guy...
Thanks.
So it looks like YouTube mediaplayer is fixed and (at last!) volume control on animated gifs in Instagram works properly (previously it was changing notifications level not media). Hopefully WiFi connection will be also stable but this needs a longer testing.
TY scrosler.
Ok, flashed one hour ago, maked the wipes and all pretty smooth here.
Scott youre the master! As always
Running perfect, but I didn't have a problem with 5.0 either.

Step 1) Link is dead
Could I just use (this) instead to root then proceed to install a custom recovery ?
Thanks for the fast response.
This is great!...I thought most tmo devs had moved on...thank you soooo much!
I am the new owner of a used g2 and I have my stock rom rooted. I have been waiting to select a custom ROM and finally someone has come up with something that I am going to try. So your new ROM will be the cherry popper.
I've been on AOSP/CM based Lollipop ROMs for a while now. I've wanted to try LG's 5.0+ and I think your ROM is a good excuse to pull the trigger!
Will flash it this weekend.
Thank you very much for this. WIll upgrade from 30a.

Awesome! Many thanks for this!
Quick question, if I changed the DPI to 400, do you think it'll affect Lollipop in any way? I did that with KK ROM's with no hitch so just making sure it won't on this one. Thanks!
Did you try AutoRec for the 801?
Looks great! can't wait to try!
I can't wait to try this on my TMO G2. I am and have been running a stock firmware simply because none of the other interesting TMO G2/G3 ROMs offer wifi calling (which is a must when in my place).
Again awesome looking ROM! I was just going to run AutoRec then load this since I'm on a stock firmware. Shouldn't be any prob's right?
BTW, Which superUser version is on this? Any bugs to look out for?
Thanks!
Thank you for your work and time. Now to the question What exactly has been "debloated" from this ROM?

I followed the instructions exactly and my TWRP went from 2.7.0.0 to a newer version (can't remember the exact number off the top of my head). My understanding is bootstack installs Twrp.

CM12.1 is here for the D800, aka the AT&T LG G2.
This is a source build rom, which includes all the latest changes from cm. The nightlies are starting August 2nd.
Instructions
Official support is now limited to Kitkat and Lollipop basebands. CM-12.1 is based on a completely new kernel. This has enabled support for the latest basebands newer than jellybean.
While many people and devices are in various states we officially recommend flashing back to stock then fully updating your device before using cm-12.1.
If you are coming straight from cm-12.0 the rom will not boot.
Download cm-12.1, and gapps. Put them on your sdcard, reboot to recovery. Flash, and enjoy!
The latest will be available at:
http://get.cm/?device=d800

Also, might be worth mentioning the need for the LP bootstack
Edit: Adding link to the LG-Devs bootstacks. You'll probably want the D800 bumped version, though the loki one should work as well.

You'll have to click on the file, then click the "Raw" button to start the download.
Are you saying it's best to flash back to stock as in "LGD800AT-01-V10o-310-410-OCT-19-2013+0.tot" , and then root, recovery, flash, etc? (just to be clear).

Flash back then apply all stock updates, so you are on stock lollipop. After that root, and install cm. This will provide the best experience and is the only method that bug reports will be accepted from.
That said there are other situations your phone can be in and cm-12.1 work. Coming straight from cm-12.0 however will result in an assert check failing or a bootloop of the kernel not booting. We've broken compatibility, but its needed. There was no way to provide a proper experience and allow people to be on original jellybean firmware.
I'm good on flashing the tot, but 'Stock Updates', I have no idea where they would be nor how to get them. Do you have a link? Thanks for putting up with a noob, it's just I want clarification. Thanks. (I'm asking, because I'm sure others want to know also).
Flashing Blastagator's modem and bootloader inside TWRP then installing CM12.1 won't work?

Like I said there is more than one way to get it to work but the only official way is to tot back to stock and make sure you are updated to lollipop.

These are the only tots, and I have no idea where to find 'updates', that I could find, which one, 20c?

Noobs like me are going to need some clear cut instructions, not just some 'updates' thing.
The first nightly build of cm12.1 for d800 is online!!

blastagator's bump'd LP bootstack zip should get you past the assert on the value of TZ. However you'll also want the LP radio at the least. This may not be the most supported, but it'll probably get things working for you.
While it may not be officially supported, I at least got it working for me.
Backed up everything under /sdcard (adb pull /sdcard/ . )
Backed everything up in TWRP. (saved to USB, included Boot, System, Data, Cache, EFS, modem, Recovery, and Sensors)
Performed a factory wipe
Flashed bootstack-d800-LP_30f-bump-v1.1-blastagator-signed.zip
Flashed d800-30f-modem-blastagator-signed.zip
Flashed cm-12.1-20150804-NIGHTLY-d800.zip
Flashed open_gapps-arm-5.1-stock-20150804.zip
Flashed UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
Backed everything up in TWRP (again) to have a clean CM12.1 base to start from. Included the same options as before (everything)
It worked for me, YMMV.
Please could you provide some feedback on camera and audio in whatsapp message? Thanks.

Camera's broken by an errant patch, should be working hopefully in another nightly or two.

Camera opens and takes pics. Speed and use will be subjective, its good enough for me but I am not a photography. I can say it is functional now though for me.

Anyone figured out a way to remove the superuser hash mark from the status bar?
Never mind, I flashed SuperSU and it took care of it.
Before I go too much further down the rabbit hole, has anyone else had issues with voice calls? I cannot be heard unless I am on speakerphone or hold the bottom of the phone perpendicular to my mouth and speak directly into the bottom of my phone. Using a VOIP app (ie Hangouts) to make a call appears to work just fine.
I've tried switching persist.audio.dualmic.config from endfire to disable and back again with no benefit.

Are we talking flashing the Kitkat TOT then taking the OTA upgrades to Jellybean? I ask because I've yet to find a TOT for Jellybean for the D800.

RECOMMENDED:
- Flash SuperSU if you want, but this does come with CyanogenMod root.
- I HIGHLY recommend installing the 777jon kernel while using this ROM. Some users have reported bits of lag; I have tested and seen much better performance with this kernel. LINK: 777jon Kernel
- Take a nandroid backup
- Flash ROM using TWRP recovery
- Flash 5.1.1 GApps(I recommend BaNkS GApps)
- Wipe cache
- Wipe dalvik cache
- Reboot
- Enjoy!

Np! I really missed this ROM too, lol. I plan to release a new update every few days/week. Plz tell me if you have any issues! I have been running it for the whole day and so far it seems stable.
Tried clean install. Gets to installing partition and comes back fail. Tried 3 downloads. All came back fail. Will wait for others to chime in.
Thanks for the work. Will try again tomorrow.
It's good to see a ROM I haven't used since my Atrix HD, and I don't think I'll be switching to any other ROM for a while now. Runs smooth as butter with Nebula!

Did you do a dirty flash or a clean flash? Also, did everything work after the initial crash?

Hmmm. (Don't mean to sound mean) but are you sure you're running the D850 variant? This shouldn't happen if the right partition scheme is present for the correct G3 variant. Let me know how another download goes!

Did a clean flash. the initial setup worked perfectly but as it ended, the error popped up that trebuchet has stopped responding. however, i am able to drag the notification panel from the status from where i can go to the settings area. surprisingly, the error does not pop up there.
Yes sir, i am using the D850 version. using jedi's aosp rom from this section at the moment.

Hmm. I'm not sure I understand the issue; do you mean that the crash only happens one time or that the crash happens multiple times? Also, were you using the jedi kernel at the time or the included kernel? The 777jon kernel works best with my ROM I have found.

the crash error does not come when in settings. as soon as i exit the settings, the error pops up again. first flashed the rom with Nebula kernel and then it was the included kernel.

Okay, thanks for the report! For now, I recommend going into Settings/apps/all/Trebuchet. Then clear the app's data and see if that fixes it. If not, I recommend installing another launcher to see if that will work.

I've done that already. didn't work. How can i install another launcher while being in settings only?
What i've figured out is that i will install a gapps package that has google now launcher so i can switch launcher in home settings option. will see if it works.

ok. now this is very very strange. with all the steps that i was doing and repeating previously for flashing rom, i did it again and it worked. i am finally on PAC-ROM The weird part is that i am not even using google launcher from the new gapps downloaded, i am on trebuchet, the same trebuchet that was not responding earlier in the day. Anyways, my luck worked this time
i wanted this so badly for quite some time. i am glad you bought PAC-Rom up for D850 users. Thank You Yoshi :good:

Edit : A couple of issues I see
1) The file is bloated. Like, actually bloated to about 140% of its usual size. My builds have been ~270mB without Gello browser and ~310mB with Gello + Snap, so I guess there's plenty of bloat apps in there or you have huge vendor trees.
2) Why u mediafire? You can keep them on my server or throw them onto the far superior AndroidFileHost (after you get developer status and FTP access, may take a couple of days) using the command I will obviously share with you over Hangouts if you want.

1) Yes, it's stock from AOKP, and I didn't remove any apps or anything (but may in the future)
2) Because I haven't signed up for AFH yet, but will. I know people were eager for a new quark rom, and while I really appreciate your server, anyone with the link can prowl around and download stuff that I'm not ready to publicly share :good:

Yes, to both. I've been meaning to add some more info to the OP, but I got distracted. Will get back to work on it now...
If you are coming from RR, you can make a TWRP backup of your data partition, and after 1st install and boot of aokp, and once you are at the home screen, reboot into twrp and flash your data backup. It should boot with all your apps and settings. This method worked for me and Neporood.
I lost LTE signal when I did it on mine, but clearing modem status fixed it for me. I dunno if it will affect anyone else, might have been an app I had installed.
Enjoy!
Do you have volte?
If VOLTE doesn't work on CM13 or RR what makes you think its gonna work on this?
None of the custom ROMs (aside from CF) even have the files needed for VoLTE (IMS and numerous related frameworks and stuff). With that said, I'm in the process of attempting to insert all the necessary files and get VoLTE working.

I would consider CF to be modified stock ROM running a stock kernel. CF is a modified Verizon XT1254 debloated stock ROM, is it not?
For instance, all the custom ROMs have to run CM-based kernel, correct? Even AOSP Mokee and the now-discontinued AOSP Nexus Experience -- which are not based on CM -- still use CM kernel. Even BHB27 kernel is based on CM kernel code. Whereas CF is using stock kernel, does it not?

Correct. That's exactly why I excluded CF's ROM. While it is a "custom" ROM in the sense that it's not stock, it's built on stock as an optimized/modified stock ROM. It's the only "custom" ROM to have VoLTE for Verizon, and technically the only ROM to have VoLTE on any Quark, since all the other custom ROMs don't have any IMS files.

Do I have to make a data backup? I usually just download new apps because I usually have issues with using backups.
