I am new in rooting...i have a nexus 5 and somehow i managed to root it by cf auto root and still i am on my stock rom but my problem is that i want to backup my rom and for that i have to install cwm recovery but i have a question that if i install cwm still will i get ota update to android lollipop without any problem no matter if i lose the root access but will it brick my phone..? And for updating do i have to uninstall apps like lucky patcher , super su .etc. that all have root access...?
Thank You
Hi,
You can ask the experts who own your device for help here,
> Google Nexus 5 > Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [HELP THREAD] Nexus 5 | Ask any question
And for OTA information, see the first page of this thread,
> Google Nexus 5 > Nexus 5 General > [INFO] Nexus 5 OTA Help-Desk
And so you know, we don't discuss Lucky Patcher or similar apps on XDA. It's used to hack paid apps, something XDA does not condone or support.
Good luck!

wish to hear from you soon

Hi,
You can ask for help here,

If you have a locked bootloader and have not rooted or changed any system files, then yes... You will get the OTA and lose nothing.... But you will need to be patient and wait for the update to get to you.
You can ask in the thread above for alternatives though.
Good luck!

Hello,
I know it may sound stupid,I installed the android L developer preview and all was good until the legit lollipop update came out for nexus 4. I had teamwin so I wiped everything including the OS and all of its data, so know I have nothing except teamwin. I want to try to bring it back to normal with no money. Im open to all programs running on windows. Its stuck on the Google screen and I can only get it out when I force shut down using the button. I can access fastboot and the bootloader is unlocked, BUT not rooted. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
I see there are three options to root the G3, and the other two seem to require a PC. You can borrow the use of one, be it a friend, or a computer at a library or community centre (the ones I worked at used Deep Freeze to protect it, which allowed to install anything without risking the PC - just reboot once done).
There may be more options than that, so please go ahead and create an account, and from there you can post in other forums. But the thread of interest right now is the [FAQ][HELP THREAD] LG G3 | Ask any question | FAQ in first post [Noob Friendly] thread of the > LG G3 > G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
I have an LG Volt 2 by Boost running android 5.1.1 and have successfully rooted it, I wanna get xposed installer but I need a custom recovery to which none can support my phone does anyone know any recovery apps that are compatible with my phone so I can install xposed??? PLEASE HELP
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA assist.
I couldn't find any information on custom recoveries running on your device. I would highly recommend posting in the Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum as there is no dedicated forum for your device. Please note that in order to post, you will need to create a XDA account.
Good Luck! - gsstudios
