Yea man, I'm even goin' to try change device name from D295 to D290 because I have taken patched aboot from DUAL.

Thanks for the share but my phone says D290n so this works only for the D290n? Also is there a way to backup the aboot?

Original aboot is linked in the thread. It works only for D290n, you can find recovery for D295 on forum.

Thank you, my d290n is now running the recovery

Good news!
I've patched stock aboot.bin from our D290 to be able to have bootloader unlocked. It works so good
Now our device is recognised as D290N, not as D295 (DUAL).

Just flash like previous.

Worked on D290G!!!

Tutorial [noob] How to Install CM11 ApexQTMO Clockworkmod .IMG file on Relay4G

I was looking for this for a long time and finally found it embedded in a thread here at XDA and thought it would be helpful to have a clean thread for installing the
1) Download latest supported recovery.img from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2528752
Currently: http://cmw.cmfs.me/apexqtmo/apexq_recovery-10.2.img
2) Place it at the root of your sdcard and rename it recovery.IMG
3) Download and install terminal emulator from the play store.
4) Run the terminal and
type: su (press enter)
Then type: dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 (press enter)
Don't mess up the command or you WILL brick your phone.
5) Enjoy your Clockworkmod.
Note: I don't take any credit for this
Freaky way for flashing a recovery, just use clockworkmod recovery app from play store or use another tool (heimdall is pretty easy).
I prefer odin, then a flashable zip afterwards, I updated mine with Rom Manager before I found the right flash able. To each his own!
The reason I put this up is that the post for apexqtmo is a .img file, not a zip so i couldn't flash with existing.
I just assume that if they update CWM in the future it will also be in .img format, so for quick reference I made this how-to.
Feel free to post other methods

You can just take any flashable CWM zip and replace the .img within with the one you want to flash. Using dd on the recovery partition sounds scary to me.
Other metod.
So is there any simple metod of doing that when I have img file on SD card?
I mean other than DD.
I have some old recovery CWM 6. something.
Is possible to do it without connecting to PC?
Try this
Download terminal emulator from play store (use the one by jack p)
su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/nameofrecovery.img
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Isn't there an easy way to convert img to zip? Thanks
PS using cwm from the play store did the trick without terminal or imag to zip etc...
yes, its not hard to create your own .zip that is flashable in recovery
you just need to write your own updater-script and then grab the update-binary for you device
doesnt take but a few minuets, but if you dont want to do this using a terminal emulator is quick and painless too
how about adb?

If you screw up that dd command, you'll likely have some pretty big issues, depending upon where the recovery gets written to.
https://googledrive.com/host/0B-v962-Q8Pd9VWtvN0VrTXlQaTg/apexq_recovery-10.2-347.zip
Is a slightly updated version of CWM fully supported by TeamApexQ that works with CM 10.2, CM 11, and HypnoToad in an update.zip form, to flash from recovery.
This recovery is better (cmw based) and more up to date (also zip):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588646
Be wary of 'more up to date' recoveries. The one we support is able to flash images of Android 4.3.x and 4.4.x If you upgrade to a 4.4 based recovery, it will error on Android 4.3 Images.

I am on Android 4.1.2 (from T-mobile) and from recovery CWM did nothing to me.
Or maybe change something - splash screen to Apex..
It is now v 6.0.4.4 and I believe it was that before update.

That is the updated version.
In general folks, you only need to update your recovery when a new image feature requires you to (Such as with Android 4.2's multi user/profile stuff, or Android 4.3/4.4's increased use of SELinux)

1st - install PhilZ Touch Recovery 6.40.1.
2nd - install twrp.
My PC is busy again and I can't say when I'll get time but I'll be releasing update soon.
If you want it badly then just do:
Unpack the recovery.img (of this TWRP)
Now, unpack the recovery.img of PhilZ Touch Recovery.
Now, replace the "KERNEL" file in TWRP's unpack from the PhilZ Touch Recovery's unpack.
Now, repack the TWRP's unpack.
Note: If you don't know how to unpack/repack recovery.img file, just Google and you'll learn it in few minutes. It's very easy.
You can use that until my official release.
Ok, thanks.

@Bhargav97, as you kindly asked me I tried to complete the recovery image.
Guys, as I don't own any Fit device, you'll have to flash this at your own risk. Though I've done this before for my device. If anything will not work - let me know. Good Luck!

The recovery image you supplied causes a long boot freeze at initial Samsung Logo followed by reboot and long boot freeze and reboot.... etc.
Boot to recovery using hardware keys produces the same result.
This image completely screws the boot image too, you cannot normal boot after flashing the recovery image. Reflashing the previous working recovery image does not help. I have to restore a recovery image using ODIN to get back to a functional recovery.
No success I am afraid.

There are a lot of method nowadays for unpack-repack and most of them fails to make a proper repack, so you'll have booting problems like you had when you tried to do it yourself. I just told @belyava to do unpack-repack because he did this with the recovery (TWRP - had same reboot to system issue) of his device successfully. Thanks @belyava for this help.
Everything expected to work. However, you can always report bugs with a proper recovery logfile.
Updated download link with a new mediafire link. The latest build can be now labelled as STABLE build.

[ROOT] Moto X Style - XT1572 BR - Marshmallow

Hello guys!
I make my own ROOT (systemless, thanks for Chainfire) images for Moto X Style with Marshmallow (build MPH24.49-18). Its use "experimental" systemless SuperSU version 2.56 - more info on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63197935&postcount=2. No need replace bootloader or recovery. Still need unlocked booloader.
Because TWRP didn't work in this version of bootloader (0xA048), I cooked "su.img" in a Linux box and used "/data/local/tmp" as bridge (accessible by ADB).
WARNING! I am not responsible for any harm on your phone. When you're not sure if you can do it, leave it!
For use, you need
1) unlocked bootloader.
2) if your bootloader not unlocked, make sure you have copy of your data, because this process will erase your device.
3) install ADB and FASTBOOT on your pc using minimal ADB or Android SDK.
4) install ADB drivers from Motorola or Universal ADB.
5) download provided files.
6) download SuperSU ver. 2.56 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/wip-android-6-0-marshmellow-t3219344.
Steps:
1) extract files in a folder of your choice (su.img, boot.img).
2) extract Superuser.apk from SuperSU-v2.56-20151030013730.zip from common folder.
3) enable USB debugging on Android.
4) connect your device on pc.
5) open a command prompt in a new folder.
6) type "adb push su.img /data/local/tmp" without quotes.
7) type "adb install Superuser.apk" without quotes.
8) now reboot your device into fastboot mode by typing "adb reboot bootloader".
9) type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" without quotes.
10) type "fastboot reboot" without quotes.
And enjoy!
Now you have a rooted MotoX Style Marshmallow. To apply any OTAs, you only need reflash stock boot.

Yes, work with XT1575.
I dont test on another device, only on XT1572.
After 24h, no errors, work like a charm.
With this approuch you dont need to downgrade bootloader.
assuming that we need a "CLEAN", unrooted system for this as advised by @Chainfire in his instructional post regarding this experimental root method!
Instructions
You must absolutely re-flash your stock /system partition, or the separate root instances will interfere with each other. The installer for this experiment will not clean up old root files.
- Flash stock /system
- Flash the attached boot image
- Flash the attached SuperSU ZIP in TWRP

Also you should probably make a point of mentioning that this method is an experiment.
Aside from this, let me take my "high-visibility" jacket off, along with my "safety helmet" and say thank you very much for taking the time to do this for us all @ivcarlos! You are a gentleman!
Is Android pay confirmed working with this root method?
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
@bb12489
I dnt know because I dnt use this feature.
@Doktaphex
I dnt mentioned this - clean and unrooted system - because after apply OTA on XT1572, custom recovery (TWRP) didn't work anymore. By the way, I assume no root and clean system.
I know this method is "experimental", but it's best at this time, without downgrade bootloader (not safe).
Thanks for comments! I make this work because I need root and I dnt like to make heavy changes on smart...
In this way, I share for everyone.

Could you please give me the link that how you created modified boot.img ? I want to make it work on Indian XT1572
@gulshanstrider
I make boot image based on post of Chainfire (http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/wip-android-6-0-marshmellow-t3219344), with applying steps:
1) unpack stock "boot.img";
2) patch sepolicy;
3) edit "init.rc" and "init.environ.rc";
4) edit "file_contexts";
5) repack "boot.img".
Use Chainfire generated images with model.
Without TWRP, I cooked "su.img" in a Linux box, and use "/data/local/tmp" with bridge.

@Shishir Singhal
Whats your model and version?
I make this image for my XT1572 (BR, dual) and wifi working.
To revert back you must write back stock boot.img version. On first post I provided stock of XT1572 RETLA 6.0 (my base).
On my device no issues at all.
Not working on my XT1572
Didn't work on my XT1572 with Android 6.0.
Enable root option is disabled in SuperSU with a message saying that system-less root is currently not supported.

What version of SuperSU you was installed?
You put "su.img" into "/data/local/tmp"?
If you enter in shell with ADB, ls command show "su" directory in root? Image was monted successfully?

Sure, I will share github links today! I just need to push the updates for D295 (l70pds) and I will give links for both devices.
Edit: I added the sources to the thread!
Thanks!! The new build looks great too. But why isn't there a format data option in wipe? Or is it placed somewhere else?

You are most likely flashing the wrong files. Make sure that recovery.img and aboot.bin are the only files with those names in your SD card. Also make sure they are in your SD card not in any folder.
Tested on my device and everything works fine.
Installed it through the Terminal Emulator, restarted and used the button combo as said in the instructions.
It turned the recovery without any problems on my D290N.

Can i flash it as a secondary rom (multirom)?
Does anyone have the stock modem for x527? because my signal keeps coming on and off constantly in every eui rom so I can't go back to stock, strangely I can use it on Nougat and Oreo. I've flashed this stock rom but no solution.
Hi @veisen !
Thanks for the ROM.
However - how can it be an official ROM if it shows a 'Le X527' but with a 'Snapdragon 820' (when it should be a Snapdragon 652)?
Cheers, raimerik

can't copy X527-5_9_21S.zip (2,1GB) to /sdcard. Copy always stops after copying 140MB or so. I copy mounting USB storage from TWRP, and then through the file administrator with copy-paste (Ubuntu 16.04, linux). Filesystem is ok. I've done a factory reset before. What can I do?

Try pushing it through adb
Rename the file to update.zip
Open terminal
cd "directory of the zip folder"
adb push update.zip /sdcard/
Wait for few minutes, it should be done.

Ok, @veisen I'll try it. But do you have any reasonable explanation of why adb push stops copying?
Any one using this rom? How's battery life n camera ?
If possible post some screenshots
