Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Manual update issue! - General Questions and Answers

I have a galaxy tab 3 Smt211 run which used to run kitkat before i tried to root it and it failed. Then it started to bootloop so i flashed stock jelly bean firmware of the tablet. Now it says that the latest uodates have been installed. Is there any problem if i flash the kitkat update downloaded for sammobile for the device? Is it safe?

How to install 4.9.4 upgrade to rooted Tab 2 7.0?

I rooted my Tab 2 7.0 using the methods here. Now how do I install the 4.0.4 upgrade form Samsung? I tried using VooDoo OTA to temporarily unroot but when the upgrade tried to boot it did not go to the stock install screen and the upgrade failed before it started.
if you root it, you won't be able to upgrade to 4.04
read here to unroot your device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655698
Thanks
Thanks. I think I will just leave it as it is on 4.0.3 as it is working.
4.04 is more smoother than 4.03, especially in Contacts app
other than that is pretty much same
After flashing the above file and installing the 4.0.4 upgrade is there a root path available to root my Tab 2 7 again?
For a person such as myself that doesn't do much flashing of files would you kindly explain what CWM is? I rooted my Tab 2 initially following instructions from this forum using Odin.
Thanks again for the assistance.

[Q] Update Samsung P5100 to 4.2.2 (OFFICIAL) having ClockworkMod

Hi Guys,
Here is my question:
-I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5100, and I upgraded it to 4.1.2 (OFFICIAL) via ODIN, and after I installed the ClockworkMod v. 6.0.2.3 using Rom Manager. I later learned that a friend had been bricked their Samsung Galaxy Ace s5830m with the OTA update to 4.0, and everything seemed to indicate that the culprit was the Clockworkmod that he had installed.. Now, it appeared to me an OTA update alert on my tablet (which should not appear, since the current state of my tablet is "modified") in order to upgrade to 4.2.2.
Well, my question is if I can upgrade my Tablet via OTA even with ClockworkMod, or is it better to update using ODIN...

No, but Sammobile's team is working on it. My current 4.1.2 rom is from Hong Kong and I downloaded it from Sammobile :
AP5100ZSDMB2CP5100ZSDMA1CSC5100ZSDMB2
sadly i think the update you are receiving is P5100ZSDMH1 which is an update to 4.1.2 (not the 4.2.2 update)
i will try the update on my tab i hope i am wrong :fingers-crossed:

[Q] Galaxy note 2 I317 Bricked after unroot

I have the AT&T Galaxy note 2 SGH-I317.
At boot the screen sits on the galaxy note 2 logo. I can get to download mode but can not get to recovery mode.
I had just updated to 4.3 and rooted (mistake) and I needed to unroot. I have tried to flash the stock rom but it just keeps doing the same thing. Also the stock was 4.1.2.
I already tried using TWRP via Odin but that did not do anything.
EDIT:
I did some research and found out that knox which comes with 4.3 does not allow downgrade which is what I was doing. So I now think that all I need is a 4.3 stock rom. any links?

[Q] galaxy tab 2 10.1 not updating

hello all,im new here.searched but didn't find a similar post.
my galaxy tab 2 10.1 is currently running 4.1.2 JB. it says your device is out of date. but, i can't update it because its rooted and cwm recovery is installed. whenever i click on check for updates it says your device has been modified, updates are not available. i tried through kies too,it also says that updates aren't supported.what should i do?
Yeah, you can't download official OTA updates with a custom recovery. If you want updates from Samsung you need to relock the bootloader and go back to stock recovery.

[Q] Update to 4.1 and/or root with CWM

Hello all,
I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus (GT-P6210) and have a few questions or considerations to make.
I searched the forum for answers but cannot find it.
Currently my tab is not rooted or running custom firmware.
Android version 3.2 Honeycomb is installed since the purchase, but I cannot download updates.
The OTA updater says no update available and the Samsung Kies software also says 3.2 is the most recent version.
On the internet I find lots of news articles writing about Samsung official update to ICS 4.0 and even JB, which I cannot download.
Does somebody know how to get official update from Samsung for the tablet?
If not, I consider rooting the tablet and download the official firmware myself.
After a lot of research I have some question marks for the procedure.
I want to install CWM with root.
Backup my Android 3.2 ROM via CWM.
Update Android 3.2 to 4.1 via Odin.
But, as far as I know, the root access will be removed when using Odin to flash official firmware.
CWM does not work without root, so how will I get root access after flashing Android 4.1?
Sorry for the large story, but I do not know how to write this shorter.
I am looking forward to your replies.
After installing the updated firmware you redo the root procedure and install cwm again, after you can use Romtoolbox to remove unwanted Samsung bloatware and lighten you ROM so as to speed up your tab.
Pp.
First, you need to upgrade your tab to 4.1 with odin. You can find the firmware at sammobile. Then flash cwm/twrp from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538507
To root you can flash supersu 2.46
Thanks for your replies!
I am using Android 4.1 now for a few months on the tablet, works great!
Very happy that Odin did good work.
