OK I have played with google camera a lot and thought. This is awesome. Take a 3d picture of a room or area. But what if. I want to take a 3d picture of a person. My idea is simple. I want someone to hack google camera and make it so I can take a photo. Around a object. So I can make a 3d image of someone. Its like reversed google camera. Imagin the possabilitys of saving a 3d photo of a person. U could use this to also create a new virtual chatting or even game player skins
Just thought I would share my idea. I'm sure if it worked good android would put it in the next rom

Good morning XDA community! I'm not sure if this post should go here, so if it doesn't... I'll take my flaming and you can move it.
If you're anything like myself, you enjoy reminding iPhone users how much better Android devices are any chance you get. I'm a huge fan of Snapchat and use it religiously. If you use this app, here's a cool way to mess with iPhone users:
First, you have to be rooted. Once rooted, you'll need the Snapshare Xposed module. This will allow you to share videos from your gallery through Snapchat. Now, for those of us that have slow motion recording, it gets even more entertaining. You can use your regular camera app to record something in slow motion (doesn't really matter what, everything looks awesome in slow- mo). Once you've recorded what you want, you need to trim it (scissors icon when you're on the thumbnail in gallery). Keep in mind that Snapchat only allows 10 seconds worth of video.
Once you have the video down to 10 seconds, you'll need an app in the Play Store called Video Compressor (yes, it's free). Since Snapchat has a 2.5MB limit on videos, it won't let you send an uncompressed video. The Video Compressor app is super easy to use. Open it, hit start, select the video in your gallery and it defaults to 10 seconds long. Start the compression and when it's done, it'll allow you to save it or share it. You can click share, then Snapshare, and send the slow-motion videos to your friends or upload them as your story.
I've done videos of me breaking ice, playing pool and my cat leaping into the air. Again... Everything looks awesome in slow-mo. The response from the iPhone users is great.
Just passing it along...
Have a great day!
I Hate It ! I Never Wanted It To Slomo ! How Do I Take It Off ??!!
Hey there,
it's really ridiculous. I'm either blind or disappointed on the play store and I really hope you can help me out. Until now I was driving with Camera MX that can take videos and pictures and has something called live shot, so I won't miss great moments. Unfortunately, it does not take continuous shots in full quality, instead it records a video and let allow me to select the frames I want to export as images.
This sucks in term of quality. I'm looking for an app that takes real shots. I rather want high quality with lesser shots per seconds, however most apps target for speed and decrease quality. Another big thing is I want to record videos with it, too. And this is the moment were every burst shotter fails.
I'd like to have aperture, ISO value, and exposure time settings for better night photos, too. Half of the apps did not even adjust brightness on my LGG4 (CM13), but none of them fulfilled my expectations.
I really hope anybody can help me out with that. Thank you!
For anybody who came here for the same reason, I found this website: https://softwarerecs.stackexchange....ith-shutter-mode-easy-manual-config-and-video
At the end I decided to go for OpenCamera, because A Better Camera seems not to work on CM.
I saw this coming across the wire and it piqued my interest... the latest version of Google Photos coming down the pike (v2.13, might be a little before everyone gets it) added a new video editing option; stabilization. Now, I immediately side loaded the update, because I have no patience for such things, and took a peek.
The interface is simple... load up a video, click on the pencil shaped edit button and at the bottom of the screen, you'll see "STABILIZE"
If the video is local, it'll process it then give you the option to preview and then save. At which point you can upload the stabilized video back up to Photos and it'll sit there besides the original (you will see both versions). You can also stabilize videos that are backed up, it'll just download the video locally first.
It works surprisingly well. It seems to use the standard 'crop and process' method that you'll see on something like Youtube, etc. So a discerning eye will be able to see the tell tale wobble of a stabilized video... which you really can't avoid... the lens is moving so there will always be a constant perspective change. But the results are still very impressive.
Pretty slick. The software stabilization on my 6P is OK.... but after playing with this function a bit, I am considering just flipping it off and doing all the stabilization work in post using Photos. This is only available on the Google Photos app itself; you can't load the video up on photos.google.com and edit it. Odd.

Hello guys
There is an option to upload photos on Facebook and to make them 3D, very cool and beautiful you can check them here https://facebook360.fb.com/360-photos/
But sadly, it's only for people with iPhones. The requirements are to have iPhone with 2 cameras. Basically, the picture needs to be shot with 2 cameras to have a depth effect to make it 3D. But why only for iPhones? Basically, every phone with two cameras should be able to do it. Is there any way to use this option on android?
Sorry not using FB
It is possible to create the 3D photo without an iPhone
Well it is possible to create the 3D photo without an iPhone. let’s start by looking at the special features of Portrait Mode. It doesn’t just take one photo. It takes your “normal” photo, but also takes another “special” photo. This ‘special’ photo is the depth map, which is created when we take photo from a phone with two cameras. This depth map shows which part of the photo is ‘closer’ to the camera, and which part is ‘further’ from the camera .This works just as our eyes work. When we know which object is near and which object is far, we can construct a 3D understanding of what we see on our brain. Facebook uses this depth data to construct a 3D Photo, relying on it to gain a 3D view of our photo and make a 3D parallax effect with it.
‘Live Focus’ mode on Galaxy Note 9 relies on the same principle as the iPhone X’s Portrait Mode. But its stores depth data differently. The qualty of 3d image is less as compared to iPhone. take a look here : www.facebook.com/nuuneoi/posts/10216478233324532
The main issue is that the depth map data taken from most Android phones with 2 camera has no standard. Every brand uses different formats for their depth data, so it may take a while for Facebook to roll out this feature to the another phone model beside Apple’s iPhones :angel:
Hi,
First off just want to say I am a long time XDA fan from way back to windows mobile and I am in a bit of a crisis state currently. I have always been anti apple and drank the android phone coolaid forever but I am struggling currently because I have a very strong desire for the live photo feature. (Video before and after every picture I take WITH audio) I know the pixels have motion photo and all that but without sound it is so much less. I have found that camera MX supports this but google photos doesn't detect the live photo aspect of the picture to upload it.
Everyone around me thinks I am going crazy causing I am thinking of putting up with all the things I hate about apple just for the live photo feature. The camera is my number one used item on the phone so that is why I would think of switching. I am a Dad of 3 and love these short videos and take way to may pictures.
Is anyone aware of a way to get google photos to detect camera MX's live shots? Or get audio on google motion photos? Or some other app that can do this?
Not sure if this is posted in the right spot so mods please move if needed...
