I've noticed recently (not really sure if its after the latest update),
That if i'm listening to anything (screen on or off) and the proximity sensor was blocked, the volume turns down, way down.
Is anyone else facing this issue?! Could It be fixed?!

has anyone elses keyboard kind of flickered after it turns on?
i have it set to use light sensor
and i installed g light for screen backlight
but even with it turned off the keyboard flickers and it just started yesterday ive had it for almost 2 months just hoping its not dying or something
nevermind. this time wen i had it off it fixed it
but did other people have issues with g light causing this?
how about do people have issues when the phone goes into standby of the front buttons staying lit or the keyboard?
that has always happened to me well before the software
I haven't had the keyboard flicker or light stay on, but my front Dpad lights did stay on occasionally until I hard reset.
After every reboot, the proximity sensor works fine for the first few calls. It properly turns off the screen during a call when the device is near your ears & turns the screen on when it is moved away.
But post 4-5 calls, the sensor stops working. Irrespective of how you hold the device, the screen does not get turned off. User needs to manually turn the screen off & on using the lock button. This continues for all calls after that.
Rebooting the device fixes this problem again but only for 4-5 calls...
Can Anyone Found The Fix???
Hi,
Recently I have been facing this issue where my screen will not turn on during calls. My power button works fine during other times, but during call pressing it will do nothing. My device is fully stock.
Any one else facing this issue and any advise for a fix?
No advise for a solution?
Was the phone ever dropped or had the screen replaced?
Hi. I've had this annoying issue as long as I've owned by 2S. I usually use the phone on speaker phone. On both incoming and outgoing calls in probably 50% of the calls I make, after around 1 minute, the caller can no longer hear me and I can no longer hear them. I have figured out if I press the 'hold' icon to turn hold on then off again, audio works again but at the time the call goes silent, 'hold' is definitely showing as off. Really can't figure out what is going on. Anyone else had this or know of a remedy? Thanks if you can help me out.
Most probably you pressed the hold button with your cheek while talking. I am not joking. The proximity sensor is... peculiar on this phone. Eventually the screen turns on during the conversation even if the phone is close to the ear.
Make a test: just after answering the incoming call (green button), switch off the screen with the power button. Unless you receive a notification, the screen will not turn on.
Hi guildamx. Thanks a lot for your input. I had read about the strange proximity sensor issue but don't think this is directly the cause in my case. Most of the time at home, I use the phone on speaker (placed on desk in front of me with no proximity sensor being activated) and am sure that the screen is never touched during the call as it is hands-free on my desk. I have done some more experimenting this morning and on multiple tests, the audio works fine when the screen in on (at the start of a call) but after screen timeout (I have mine set to 1 minute), the audio in and out is blocked. Switching the screen back on doesn't rectify, only putting on hold then off hold. Oddly, if I use the phone without speakerphone (held to ear), the proximity sensor kicks in and turns off the screen as expected, the blocked audio issue doesn't occur. It only occurs when the screen times out the screen. Very strange.
Apparently when the phone goes into deep sleep the audio is somehow killed. Very strange and never happened to me.
I would suggest testing a different rom. Definitely it seems software related.
Sorry for not being able to provide further help.
Am i the only one whose screen, when it's off, doesn't turn back on properly? It registers both the fingerprint and the power "button" with haptic feedback, and the screen flickers quickly, but doesn't stay on until trying it finally works randomly, or if i use the squeeze gesture to open the camera immediately after pressing the power button. Locked and stocked too.
What is os version are you running?
Does this happen indoors or out?
I used to have an issue where auto brightness would immediately adjust to 0. The screen itself was on but the backlight was essentially turned of.
Only noticed it outside and auto-brightness was on (didn't even think that might be related to the issue! good call. If it happens again, I'll turn that off and see if the issue persists). Running 8.0.0.0 w/ 1.30.617.2 in USA
I have similar experience with my unlocked U12+ and may be Smart screen affected somehow screen back light. I've tried different combinations of settings (automatic Brightness on/off), Smart screen on/off and I noticed lack off problem in dark room. Even though some very strange reactions off haptic buttons (volume down by itself) makes me think about some general functionality problems of this device.
Has anyone noticed whether pressure on a particular point on the display affects the backlight?
When I squeeze moderately strong with two fingers in the area of the padlock (that is seen in a locked screen), it's the same as pressing the power button.
I've been using HTC flags for a long time, but for the first time I've come across such a touch-sensitive device. Every touch wakes him up, even in my pocket, which uses a battery.
I am terrified that there is no separate adjustment of the power and response style of touch-sensitive locations (haptic buttons, squeeze sensor)
