Just a quick question. Just wondering if there is an app that can run another instance of Android in a Virtual Machine on an Android device?
I'm wondering if this could work for those apps that won't run on rooted phones. i.e. they could be run on the virtual Android device which wouldn't be rooted.

Hello,
I have an idea that I'd like to work with for an Android app, and I guess I'm just looking for tips.
I have recently purchased my first smart phone (Samsung Nexus S - Model: GT-I9020FSRRWC on Rogers in Canada.), and have downloaded the Android SDK and installed it. I have run the "Hello World" application, and looked into some other source examples but I guess I'm stuck on how I actually transfer the code to my phone and run it on the phone (everything up till now has been run in an emulator).
Do I need to root my device in order to install my own apps to my phone? My phone is running Android version 2.3.4
Hello,
I know it is possible to use haret.exe to run Android on some Windows Mobile phones.
Is their an Android version of haret, that would enable me to run a completely different version of Android on an Android phone.
It would also enable me to run a rooted version of Android on the SD, and not void my insurance since the hardware ROM would not change - I would always run the SD Android.
I see this is a very useful technique.
I understand the basics of how haret works, overwriting all RAM and then executing memory position zero. However since this requires an incredibly invasive method of writing RAM, can see why it may not be possible.
Thank you.
I was wondering if there is a way to test a rom on a pc....like in a virtual machine. Just to see how the UI looks, how the functionality works, etc. I know I have tried running ubuntu on my machine in a VM, but I am not sure if there exists the same setup for android.
Are you asking about ROMs or apks? There should be a tool within the Android SDK (Android Emulator) that allows you to emulate an android device, so that you can test your apks.

Hello everyone, I want a rooted ROM which I can simulate it on a virtual machine on windows 7. It is possible? and how? I want to use a "phone" on my PC. Like Bluestacks player. I don't wanna use Bluestacks because is not rooted and it works very hard on my PC, I don't know why because I have the required system specs.
Thank you.
