The Android Virtual Device (AVD) is not at all working on my laptop. Am trying to create a new AVD on my laptop through Android SDK on my laptop (running on windows 7 Alienware, 4 GB RAM).
In the AVD manager when I check/select all the options and click OK, the window just strucks there for it's life. It is not responding after a while and consuming high amounts of CPU usage (80-100%) and is freezing my laptop.
I have downloaded all the required files that are shown by Android SDK(All the API's and associated files). I have latest version of JAVA and all softwares are updated on 23-04-2013.
Still am unable to create a new virtual device.
Please help!:crying:
I was wondering if there is a way to test a rom on a pc....like in a virtual machine. Just to see how the UI looks, how the functionality works, etc. I know I have tried running ubuntu on my machine in a VM, but I am not sure if there exists the same setup for android.
Are you asking about ROMs or apks? There should be a tool within the Android SDK (Android Emulator) that allows you to emulate an android device, so that you can test your apks.
Hi . it will be appreciated if somebody offer me a step by step tutorial about installing Ubuntu Mobile onto HTC ONE S , please .
i found some instruction that says only nexus devices are allowed to install OS .
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Install
but in this link they said that :
"Ubuntu Touch supports audio, video, and connection hardware on your device, and runs its Linux kernel from a very basic version of CyanogenMod 10.1 from which elements that aren’t necessary on Canonical’s system have been removed, such as Dalvik, the process virtual machine that runs apps on your Android device. All you need to do is customize a ROM for your device by following the instructions on the Ubuntu Wiki"

i've confused can anybody confirm this that i can't install ubuntu onto my HTC ?
There are some people working on it, but I haven't heard of any successes yet.
Just a quick question. Just wondering if there is an app that can run another instance of Android in a Virtual Machine on an Android device?
I'm wondering if this could work for those apps that won't run on rooted phones. i.e. they could be run on the virtual Android device which wouldn't be rooted.
