i think the hd2 general forum would have been more appropriate for this but i guess it won't hurt anyone if you posted here
there are many contrasting views about this and you will probably get confusing answers. i am not an expert but i'll try to brief you with some info i've got from my readings about lithium-ion batteries and my personal experience, of course.
so here we go:

1. discharge fully until the phone shuts down by itself
2. remove battery and wait ~1 minute
3. charge completely with the phone OFF until the green light is lit
4. remove battery and wait ~2 minutes

some recommend to do it every 3 to 6 month
here you'll find many that recommend you to do it after flashing a new radio rom.
from my own experience i tend to agree with this

i've read somewhere that lithium-ion batteries like being charged as often as possible and don't like being left without juice. this is the main reason some people don't want to even hear about the calibration procedure. but i think there is a big difference between complete discharging now-and-then and complete discharging as a habit.
i've never heard anybody recommend a precise low level limit when you should start to recharge.
there is no danger to overcharge though.

OEM batteries will give you best performance than Non-OEM, higher value batteries. Your Stock 1350 mAH battery will definitely give better performance than 1500 mAH non OEM battery. The battery drain problem is in the root of Android 2.2 Froyo, Install Gingerbread if you want more backup
Using ur cell wisely also helps
Reduce your screen brightness and avoid vibration whenever possible
Also Live Wallpapers suck up lots of juice
Using the FIT moderately gives a decent 2 days battery backup (on a stock battery)
---------- Post added at 12:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:11 PM ----------
And where do u source a 1500 mah battery for the FIT from ???
Upgrading your firmware or installing a custom rom may help with the battery problems. Also kill the apps running in background ,if not in use .

Probably Ebay
Xperia x10(Feralabs Rom) After trying all roms it was my Fav.
Now on the RAZR.
I see you Drinking that ¥Hateraid¥
i bought one on ebay its pretty cheap, 4 $ witch isnt a lot so i will try it when i get it, will tell you if its good or not..
How about calibrate the battery? Does it really works???
calibrating only show correct stats, it has nothing with battery life
Use android software for calibration. Calibration helps to see the real level of the batery. It is a good thing to wipe batery stats when you reflash ----from cwm.

it happens with high end phones like S2 also!
every smartphone has same problem, there is nothing you can do about it until hydrogen batteries becomes safer for house hold gadgets like cell phones
buy Motorola RAZR MAXX if you really need a decent battery life!
yea battery drain is natural
I think these batterys are limited to charge and it damages
Only way is to buy a new battery
but you can use battery saver apps in idle times
Hey XDA community,
I have had a Black Nexus 5 for some time now. Unfortunately I'll perhaps buy a new Nexus new because mine broke.
Should I go with the Black (Which I previously had) version or the Red version? I don't know what to choose really since I've heard good and bad things about the red version..
Thanks in advance!
well, as a phone, they are exactly identical. i guess the only differences would be the color and the rubbery feeling the black phone has on the backside.

battery life.. battery life is mostly about how you personally use your device, how you personally set it up, what apps you install, and, mostly, the quality of your data/phone connection. everything else is minor. for kernels, you can have one person that says that they have great battery, and another that says opposite.

Yeah but the battery life on the N5 is quite bad. I can't get a day out of it sometimes :/
Well let's wait for 4.4.3 I guess..

I've seen some reviews about the red version. They say it's not quite red. It's like a very bright red/orange-y version. Is that true? (I can't assess that myself because in youtube reviews, cameras interfere with colours)
If I could redo, I would buy red. I still don't understand why they won't let you have alt colors for the front of the nexus instead of just black (ew)
I'd totally go for red, if I was buying it now.
I like the red its very bright close to an orange but I love it.

The red definitely does look almost like a neon-orangeish/red (to me at least, it's what I own), it's undoubtedly eye-catching. Depends on whether or not you think that's a good thing. Haha
I have a lot of troubles with my battery on my d850...
Like after 15 minutes of 10%bright and wifi just reading blogs, my battery on 100% got 96 %
I have a lot of problems some one can help me? I want to flash 10H or something like that on mu phone to get better battery life
Or some tips and tricks, what if i flash again my 10d to unroot and start on 0?
You can't flash any updates from the other variants. Wait until the bootloader gets unlocked so you can flash a few roms/updates/etc. Until then, we have to wait for att to push out an ota.
What a cruel world...

Or buy a 10,000 mA backup Anker battery from amazon (25.00 USD) and when your battery runs low plus the USB to phone and press the button. I have that, and extra battery, battery life is the last thing i worry about lol

I've had that battery pack for a couple of years. It's excellent.
I am noticing a fair amount of battery drain though. I'm guessing it's the ridiculously high resolution screen.

That is 100% correct. QHD/2k screen was not needed and is the BIGGEST battery hog for this phone. Its a shame, this phone could have been the perfect device, but as strange as it sounds, the screen is just too good and came to soon.
It is a shame. I was getting significantly better battery life on my Oneplus.
Out of curiosity, what are people doing to increase battery life beyond things like lowering brightness, turning off wifi, bluetooth, etc. . . .

So was I on my one plus. Screen just kills the battery significantly to the point where I'm kinda sick of it and the lack of Roms. I just ordered a Z3 good by LG...see you guys on the flip side.

Hello, I just purchased my Xperia 5 II but I'm having some issues, such as battery drain and overheating. If I'm using my phone for an hour let's say with the 120hz mode on, the phone will heat at 40 degrees, and I don't know if it's normal or not...Also, in order to fix the battery drain, I need to disable 5G
yes it's normal specially if your phone has glass back cover since glass is not good heat conductor ...
