I have a lot of troubles with my battery on my d850...
Like after 15 minutes of 10%bright and wifi just reading blogs, my battery on 100% got 96 %
I have a lot of problems some one can help me? I want to flash 10H or something like that on mu phone to get better battery life
Or some tips and tricks, what if i flash again my 10d to unroot and start on 0?
You can't flash any updates from the other variants. Wait until the bootloader gets unlocked so you can flash a few roms/updates/etc. Until then, we have to wait for att to push out an ota.
What a cruel world...

Or buy a 10,000 mA backup Anker battery from amazon (25.00 USD) and when your battery runs low plus the USB to phone and press the button. I have that, and extra battery, battery life is the last thing i worry about lol

I've had that battery pack for a couple of years. It's excellent.
I am noticing a fair amount of battery drain though. I'm guessing it's the ridiculously high resolution screen.

That is 100% correct. QHD/2k screen was not needed and is the BIGGEST battery hog for this phone. Its a shame, this phone could have been the perfect device, but as strange as it sounds, the screen is just too good and came to soon.
It is a shame. I was getting significantly better battery life on my Oneplus.
Out of curiosity, what are people doing to increase battery life beyond things like lowering brightness, turning off wifi, bluetooth, etc. . . .

i think battery life is awesome on this phone, Ive never had such good battery life with any other smartphone..
I dont think it needs extended battery.
I think HTC actually tried to eliminate battery drain before making a non removable battery.
I second that, getting great battery usage.

There will always be people who want an extended battery, but its really not needed unless you are using your phone to make 50 pho.e calls in a day or you play 3 hours of games. most people will be more than happy with the battery life provided by the One S.

no need for a Extended Battery here, where would the battery go if there was one
If you are in bad cell coverage (which eats more juice) or are a heavy user, pray god invest a few bucks into a Gumpack external battery. That thing is half the size if a pack of cigs and stores enough juice for 2-3 full recharges on the go. Its one little more gadget to toss into your daypack and remember to keep charged but its well worth the bother. Certainly easier than speculating about a bigger battery while batt life is fine for most users.
And I am not bashing, if you have a 1.5h commute to work and spend it playing GTA3 i can see where the juice goes. So a gumpack battery would be your best approach, with the current 28nm Krait architecture there is not a lot to gain batterywise really. Plus, the AMOLED sucks less juice on dark images, something to keep in mind when picking a background image I think.

I bought this battery in 2011y on ebay that claimed to be 2450mAh but it was only 1400-1500mAh.
Original battery works for me (on JB ROM) around 18-24h, with this fake - around 20-26h.

Buy batteries from a reputable dealer, too many counterfeit ones going around! I just bought mugen 3600 directly from mugen, it's been amazing! Highly recommend! It's worth the cost !
sent from HTC sensation, soff, 3.33 firmware, viper Rom, sense 4.1, mugen battery. please press thanks if I helped in anyway.
Just bought one in Spain from eBay too. 8.5 eur, free shipping. I'll discharge it first to 0( it came 70% charged), then I'll run nova battery tester benchmark and post results. How well does it perform compared to the Anker one? The most I've gotten out of my Anker so far is three and a half day, but that is without using it a lot. I find that it mostly depends on the ROM you're using tho, and due to that I prefer the sensless ROMs, because they seem to run a lot lighter than their Sense counterparts. But hey, that's my observation.

What's your screen on time?
Someone got 4 days, 2h40m screen and 45 min in call using anker battery.
Skipjacks said:
Okay I want to put this business about bad battery life and battery bugs and all that jazz to bed.
Look at my battery graph. I rest my case.
Any battery problems are not with the ROM. It's clearly capable of having disgustingly good battery life.
That's 4 DAYS since unplugging with 8% battery life left as of right now.
That includes 2 hours and 40 minutes of screen on time
45 minutes of phone talk time
This is on the April 26th build. And this is the FIRST charge since flashing that build. So the battery use probably isn't even maximized yet.
My settings are OnDemand 192 - 1242
Anker battery
Auto Brightness is off and I use the notification bar swipe to adjust brightness as needed
Alterations made to the Google Services Framework to eliminate Google Wakelocks (this has nothing to do with Albino's code, hence it's not the ROM) Click here for more details
Greenify to keep other wakelocky apps on a short leash. (I'm looking at you T Mobile's My Account app. You're so useful but you think you own the place!)
Haptic feedback is off for everything. The only thing that's allowed to use the vibration function is the ringer (I don't use a ringtone, vibrate only) and reminder notifications. If you have haptic feedback on for every press on the screen and keyboard you are basically giving up battery power to run a small electric motor. That's not an efficient use of limited battery life.
Full disclosure. I don't keep mobile data on all the time. I turn it on as needed. And I've been very busy doing other stuff the past 4 days so there hasn't been a ton of use time. Obviously if I had been using it more it wouldn't have lasted 4 days. But if the ROM can idle for 4 days and not drain itself dry, then battery problems aren't in the ROM. They are with apps, settings, or user error. Albino's ROM can be configured to run for what may as well be for freakin' ever on a single charge. I'm half expecting him to add "sustainable cold nuclear fusion" to the changelog of the next build.
So if you've got battery issues, go buy an Anker before you do anything else. Even if you have other problem that will make everything better. And stop talking about battery issues in this thread. Come to the FAQ thread (see link in my signature) and ask questions about how to improve battery life there. We'll take all battery questions there with a smile and be glad to help you, where in this thread battery questions will be met with verbal beratement for clogging up the thread with whining.

im new to this website and im sort of a noob in modding, but i heard people on xda are pros and can give me an inside opinion. i wanna buy a new phone and its either the lg g2 or nexus 5 for me. im a moderate user still in high school so you could say my phone is off for a good amount of time. i was set for the LG G2 but then after some good research i heard about all the problems with the touchscreen sensitivity becoming whacky and all multiple reports of terrible lag and stutter, i come from samsung and i despise lag the suffering i had with their devices was enough. now the main selling point for the g2 is the battery life, which i also heard can be inconsistent. my question goes out to nexus 5 users, as i need someone with personal experience. i use my phone when i come back from school around 4pm for 1-2 hours then its off until about 11 where i use it for maybe a max of 2.5 mainly facebook, whatsapp, bbm and sort of a lot of youtube. will the battery do me good? and how long will it last? I really need some help. PS. they're almost the same price where i am so i dont want comparisons of "its good enough for 350" i need honest(with screenshots if available) performance opinions. i could really use some help guys please
You're good to go.
Check the battery results thread for specifics but 3 hours SoT is about the minimum you can expect without touching anything.

Why?
If you are a heavy user then I would recommend getting the G2 instead, the battery life gap is just day and night in terms of difference. As for the stutters even N5 is not immune to that. For the touch screen issues, I have several friends who have the G2 and NONE of them have the issue/
I'm sorry, but does no one own a charger? It will last you the whole day. That's all that is needed. Put it back on the charger when you go to bed, Take it off the charger when you wake up.

how do different you think it is? like you have the n5 how much juice you get out of it and are you satisfied? as for the stutter, i heard a lot of stories about deteriorating performance and the ram being taken up more than 1.3/2 out of the 2 gigs available. i really cant stand lag which is my im tempted by the n5. im not really a heavy user maybe moderate-heavy, but i do go out on a lot of days and i have a trip this summer, so i need something that wouldnt fail me midday

Thank you!!
"I can keep it on for 2 days straight oh wowee!". I don't get why people want it to last forever, simply charge it overnight. Yes, the nexus will probably last a full day depending on how you use it, but even if you can't, whack it on a charger for 30 mins and you're good to go till you can fully charge it before bed. The charging speed is amazing on this thing, so if you're at 5% before the day ends, top it up, and in 10 mins and you'll have 20% ready for the rest of the day.
Battery lasts all day = Good, usable battery.

Depends on the day but for heavy use its not as good as the G2, both devices have their own set of stuttering events. I dont even know why the N5 has a lot of home screen redraw when there is over 600mb of free RAM.
It can't compete with the G2's huge battery but compared to phones with similar sized batteries it is extremely efficient.

It is much more than the 3000mah battery...it also has G ram for the screen which decreases the screen power consumption by almost 30% according to lg even after features such as knock on and also the kernel of G2 must have been optimized to maximise its battery life
That is why it is leads ahead off phones which have same mah battery.
I just moved from a G2 to N5.
When I got my G2 it would last almost 2 days, after a few months it would barely last over 1. I Tried other ROMs modded stock ROMs and just couldn't get the battery back up to where it was. The other day it fell down a flight of stairs and I had to replace it anyway so I got the N5, which so far I like the battery on. I don't expect it to be as good as the G2 originally was, but so far its doing great for me.

Think I heard N5 has the same "G Ram" they just don't advertise it. It also has the same 20% more efficient LTE operation as the G2 and is more efficient than other 2300 and even 2600 mAh phones.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend to me a good extended battery that doesn't add bulk or the requirement of a special backplate to the s4?
I don't seem to have as much success as most people here on the phone with battery life, and if i'm lucky I make it to 3 hrs screen on time on each battery (I carry around spare batteries but this is still annoying).

I don't believe there are any options for extended battery without bulk. You could do the zerolemon 3000 mah batteries. You get two of those and then you could always have a spare battery ready to swap when the other one dies. Other than that, you're going to add bulk if you want an extended battery.

I would advise you not to use batteries by this brand. I've opened up an extended battery they made for the i9300 and discovered that they use spacers to add weight to the batteries instead of using two batteries like the reputable brands(anker, hyperion, zerolemon). The closest you would get to an extended battery is the 3000mah zerolemon.
The battery arrived today and I am giving it the first charge. I will see how it goes and report. I hope it does not mess up my device ...
So far I am using it for 30-40 minutes and it is charging and charge progress seems normal and the temperature also.
I will be back after a couple of days to share the whole experience

It depends on your screen brightness. I am using an 100% stock rom. I get on a full day around 5 hours screen on time with my brightness ranging from 0% to up to 20%.
I also tried this, use the phone with the brightness set to 0%. I managed a staggering 1 hour screen on time while just losing 15% (was whatsapping for an hour).
I don't like the stock battery life as I have to recharge my phone twice a day.... I usually go leave the house at 7AM and come back at around 6PM with around 10% left. Then, I charge it fully and by time I go to bed, the phone already has lost around 40% battery (I use the speaker alot and download Torrents). Then I start chatting with friends in bed and go to sleep with around 10-20% left on the same day (although that's at around 2AM). Thus, even with my battery life, I can't make a full day.
Although I must say, I am a heavy user. I use whatsapp, browser, music player, snapchat, facebook and the camera to take pictures alot on a daily basis. I use my phone with the lowest brightness possible as long as I can see what's on the screen to prolong the battery life.
@hare899500 and 9505 has the same battery

Sorry I didn't get back sooner.
I use the Opteka exclusively and am able to get a full day, but it depends on how you use your phone.
They don't advertise a huge upgrade, it's only marginal. you will not get anything above ~2800-3000mAh to fit inside the existing back cover.
That being said, I have yet to have any issue with the Opteka brand.
They also make camera batteries and accessories.

So you think it is better than stock?
Going to replace my original at some point. I never really have issues, though. But they are so cheap I might as well do it before it starts to become a problem, I only go above an hour or two of screen time when I travel by air (can't imaging spending 20%+ of my waking life looking at a 5" screen...don't know how you guys can stand it, lol).
i have polarcell 2900mAh battery for about 2 months, and I am really pleased with it.
Ok, I dont have stock rom, but compared to stock battery it gave me a great results.
About 35 hours without charge, and 2h 40min screen on
Good luck with this one. Most ebay battery is faking the capacity, if the size is just same as the original battery, there is no way it can be 3000mah, u can't beat the physics law.
But I just got another ZNC battery from amazon for $3.99 for a deal [I'm a new user, can't post the link here, if you guys interested, can search 'ZNC battery' at amazon to get the deal]. I have been using it for 3 days from now, works great so far and last just like the original one. I'll report it back this weekend, if I got time for the capacity test.

Definitely pretty impressive.
Hello Nexus 5 users...
I've been recently searching about this phone as I am about to buy it...
I still can't gather all the pros and cons of the phone so I can make a conclusion
whether should or should I not buy it...
I've been reading reviews but my experience says that user comments are better than reviews...
I would really love if you could type some pros and cons of this phone.
Thank you very much
Buy it, it's a great phone

Yes just buy it man. IMO there are no cons.
Hi,
I've only had this phone for one month, so I can't talk about long term usage, but here's my pros and cons so far:
Pros
Very powerful and smooth
Stock Android
Great developer support, and it's very easy to install custom ROMs
The screen is simply gorgeous
Cons
No SD Card slot
No removable battery (it's relatively easy to replace, but not "on the go")
Can get relatively hot when playing intensive games (particularly PvZ 2)
Overall I'm really happy with it, and I think you won't regret buying it
it is an ok phone..considering for the price..for the price of the n5 u could get the oneplus or the g3 if u have the money
pros
cheap price
stock android
great development
cons
nonremoveable battery
no sd slot
not water resistant
no ir blaster
speakers are not that good
battery life blows
camera is not that good

I'd debate that. The battery is very good, not the best, but very adequate.

Pros:
Cheap
Unlocked
Great screen
Perfect size
Wireless charging
Great dev support/community
Cons:
Speakers not loud enough imo, but can be modded to be louder
I love the n5. I wouldn't trade it for any phone currently out.

I consistently get over 5 hours sot and 20+ hours total. Not sure what you're doing to calibrate battery but it's not needed and probably eating battery. The battery is very dependent on your signal quality, the apps you use and your usage patterns. The battery on the n5 is not bad. If you're getting bad battery life it's a user issue.

the battery calibration is just to erase the stats that way u could have an accurate battery meter..it will not increase battery life but it will improve the runtime of the system if the system thinks 20% is left when there is actually 50% or more left..u probably dont use the phone as much as me but i could tell u right now that it sucked..and im not the only one saying that

That said there are plenty of us getting great battery too. You may not be the only one not getting great battery but many of us do too.
Oh and by the way, the battery meter is 100% unlinked to stats.

it just resets the stats
My battery is terrible... It's been off charge for 25 hours now. Had 2 1/2 hours on the screen and 1h phone calls with data/wifi/location all on and still has 25% left. I don't know how i cope ?

Charging resets the stats. Unless you're confused and don't actually mean stats.
[Info] What are battery stats and is wiping them helpful?
Thanks for all the reviews...
I will think it again and may buy this phone instead...
How about the phone quality?
