Debloat it as much as possible.
Give it a Honami Look.
Give some things every single Xperia L user wants like:
Updated Sound and Graphics Drivers. (After all, adreno 305 is a beast)
Fullscreen while playing.
Kill all background tasks when playing etc.
Let us all come and contribute to this OS one by one.
And compile it together to make it one hell of a ROM!!!

Whats with the "honami look" wishes in most ROM's out there ? I mean it just looks SO cheasy when people want to make their phone into something it's not. It like buying a Nissan Micra and slapping Lamborghini badge on it. It does not faster or look better, it just make the owner look cheap and dumb IMO.

Its still HONAMI. I mean look at the launcher of 4.2.2 update. Dude, it doesn't matter what look you give. Thats the thing about Android. You can make your phone do anything, anytime and anywhere. Xperia L has the Honami all over it. Smartphones are not cars.

It's more like to use Lamborghini body with Nissan engine.
Why people's tuning the cars? Better look, more power and so on. But yea you are right, this things need to be made from someone who understand what to do, other way it will be donkey with Lamborghini badge.

Heavy games need some extra RAM to be lag free. So, it needs some aggressive task killing and higher minfree value in services.jar and of course latest graphic drivers.
Well, I'm new in the forum "Xperia J" because I own a Xperia T. But my mother will get a J very soon and I'd like to improve her experience on this device.
I've seen some interesting mods in the "Themes and Apps" section such as Z1 apps (Home, etc...) ported to J. This kind of mod work perfect and smoothly on T, but will it be also this the case on J which has rather modest hardware features ?
I wouldn't transform her original device to a laggy and unusable device full of overambitious mods.

Take my advice: Don't buy any of the phones in thuis forum(Tipo, Miro, J, E). Truth is that they suck balls. If your mother wants an Android device, you might want to consider cranking up your budget. If the OS doesn't matter, go for the Nokia Lumia 520! I think everybody in this specific forum will agree with me...

But if you really, really have to purchase a J, every mod should work(assuming it's properly ported to the J).

The J will lag. In everything. Not just games, and multitasking.Everything. Be warned. Be prepared.

I've just configured it, and though this is not as smooth and fast as my T, I've not had a too bad impression. The design is beautiful and the screen is decent.

Well i don't think its a waste of time really dude its a cool thing that they are actually making something new.Just think about it this way. What if the final version realeased in a new phone turns out to be even better than android?

Well why do you say that? I mean think about it its sony who is developing firefox os and believe me when they come with some ideas they rock with them the market so you never know. But there must be reason why you have a strong feeling about its failure. would you like share it?

they couldn't make a proper jb (lag and other stuff,)
samsung with its heavy touchwiz made a better phone(samsung star something),htc explorer with 600mhz runs smoother jelly bean than E...[i have tested both]
so firefox is a no brainer.....we have enough mobile os's anyways
why not update the device rather than making an os which is absolutely useless and is on an irrelevant phone....
if they made it for a bit expensive phones and made them dual boot android and firefox we could see it make an impact in the market

I completely agree that firefox on E is useless but mind that the jb os for our phones was developed by amateurs and not sony themselves. I am sure if sony would have made it then it would have a whole lot of different story for our phones.

Okay... please, just tell me, where is it said that the E was made by somebody other than Sony? If it was, how could Sony release the source? How did these "people" recreate Sony's UI so faithfully? I'm sure Sony didn't tell a bunch of random guys how to. How does it recreate Sony's partition layout? Can you answer these questions? Am I asking too many? You're not getting overwhelmed, are you?
Oh, and if you find a source stating what you said is true, I'd like it.

if you used every other sony handset you could get your hand on and try it.....i'm 100% sure you will ask "who the f*** made xperia E?"

I think what actually happened is firefox asked sony to make a test phone for them
sony hand picked a 3mp camera from the 1990's garbage
put a illumination bar from somewhere
did other stuff just to be good friends with firefox (to show that they are open to new technology)
the phone turned out to be good
so they decided to put android and sell it
firefox/sony collab to make crap software
voila! xperia E!

they'll just put 4.4 on flagship devices
other devices getting 4.4 totally depends on the numbers of units sold like the ZR (in its update page it says "under investigation -kitkat")
if there ain't people to complain about it ....that device ain't gonna get it

I've used an Xperia J - lags much, much more than your average phone. My E flies in its comparison.
The Galaxy Ace is crap; plain crap. If it wasn't I'd have bought it. The Galaxy Star is even more crap; have you even used it? The screen looks like you installed Android on a DOS machine. I'll give you the Explorer, but still; 600 Mhz? No thanks.

yes sony made it ....but just not the same way it was meant to be made...it was like sony got drunk and accidentally had a good time with a homeless firefox hobo on the street at night and xE was born ! its not true sony but ,its mother just couldnt leave it as a concept phone
galaxy star i tried...screen looks like ants crawling but it was able to play subway surf on the day it was brought unlike a phone which i have,which lagged while scrolling through the menus(its a different case today.....roms saved E)

Wait, what? The first thing I downloaded on my new E was Subway Surfers, and it never lagged. This is stock firmware 2.13, unrooted, locked bootloader.
Of course, I don't play it now, but I remember that much.

i had 0.47 when new ...temple run,subway surfers any 3d game lagged ...not the constant lag like its unable to handle it.....it suddenly lagged for 10 seconds every 2-3 minutes and made me lose due to bad optimization by sony

Although a new OS on the market isn't bad, Firefox OS doesn't offer anything special. Plus, HTML 5 based apps are very limited. You can't really play any game on it. That can be solved by letting Android apps run on it, but that proves that Android is superior in any way...

the i gt 2.23....(played dead trigger for two days much improvement over 0.47)
i mean we have chrome OS ....so why dont they make os for pc? wait! linux already has firefox as default in most versions

Hi guys I recently acquired the xperia M2 (D2303) and a previous owner of the xperia L (C2105)
I was looking around the forum and noticed there is not a lot of kernels or roms for this device.
So I was wondering is that because it is an unpopular handset or is there another reason?

From what I know, Sony took a while to release the sources needed to start development. After that, work on CM started almost immediately.
But yeah, it's not really a popular device. Which is kind of a pity, I'm really satisfied with it (except for that bluetooth issue, but it seems I'm alone on this, so it's probably a lemon).
On the other hand the Sony ROMs are really not that bad, so I don't know why I'd want to switch to a custom ROM atm...
I don't see any updates for Cusrom, are these XZs outdated? I do not understand

there are many but one MAJOR reason in my view is
sony xperia is not popular device and low sales, less users, lower the intent to develop anything
if they market well today and boost their customer base! , Xperia Z days will come back!

Sony still provides AOSP Pie version for Xperia XZs despite Sony will never giving out any official upgrades for this device.
Right now, I'm currently working with AOSP Pie for XZs and I managed to boot the device with Android Pie version. Building with Linux on Windows 10 could be really pain because Linux on Win10 is not fully virtual environment where some building progress will be stalled at the middle of the progress while I'm thinking to reinstall Ubuntu back on my PC after using Arch Linux for a while.
Anyway, I can't post the Pie ROM here right now because I want to rebuild it to make it better without progress stalling issues.
