Hi guys I recently acquired the xperia M2 (D2303) and a previous owner of the xperia L (C2105)
I was looking around the forum and noticed there is not a lot of kernels or roms for this device.
So I was wondering is that because it is an unpopular handset or is there another reason?
Thanks
From what I know, Sony took a while to release the sources needed to start development. After that, work on CM started almost immediately.
But yeah, it's not really a popular device. Which is kind of a pity, I'm really satisfied with it (except for that bluetooth issue, but it seems I'm alone on this, so it's probably a lemon).
On the other hand the Sony ROMs are really not that bad, so I don't know why I'd want to switch to a custom ROM atm...

Hey, how is everyone?
hope the new year is goin perfect with everyone
first of all im sorry if im posting in the wrong section, i have no idea where to post it.
Im planing on buying a new phone , right now im using the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 , with a ustom ROM ofcourse which is working perfectly
just in case Xperia is a Windows phone
the price is not a problem, & even though im VERY happy with the windows phones, still changing the system isnt a problem
the only thing i need is a QWERTY keyboard & a touch screen
if any1 can recomend a phone for me , i would be very greatful
plus if u can mention the problems that would be great, thanks alot
Go for Rhodium!
It´s by far the best hardware keyboard device to this date
Not even 2010 HTC upcoming models are better than Rhodium

lg expo. it has 1ghz snapdragon.
HI
thought it would be best not to post this in the development forum but i hope someone can help
I am about to get a Sony smartwatch and i know after having a Liveview that different BT stacks can be better than others for this, i was on ARHD for ages and this was awful with the liveview as i think a lot were but from what i gather there were far less issues with Sony phones.
I am aware that all Sony phones seem to have less issues with the SOny watches so does anyone know :
1. which roms use which stack (i use elegencia now buit if thats the same as ARHD i may have issues)
or
2. is there a rom that uses the same as the Sony Phones
I may be way off what i think here and if so please let me know
Thanks
Well, I'm new in the forum "Xperia J" because I own a Xperia T. But my mother will get a J very soon and I'd like to improve her experience on this device.
I've seen some interesting mods in the "Themes and Apps" section such as Z1 apps (Home, etc...) ported to J. This kind of mod work perfect and smoothly on T, but will it be also this the case on J which has rather modest hardware features ?
I wouldn't transform her original device to a laggy and unusable device full of overambitious mods.
Thanks in advance!
Take my advice: Don't buy any of the phones in thuis forum(Tipo, Miro, J, E). Truth is that they suck balls. If your mother wants an Android device, you might want to consider cranking up your budget. If the OS doesn't matter, go for the Nokia Lumia 520! I think everybody in this specific forum will agree with me...
Please listen to my advice!
But if you really, really have to purchase a J, every mod should work(assuming it's properly ported to the J).
Again, listen to my advice.
The J will lag. In everything. Not just games, and multitasking.Everything. Be warned. Be prepared.
Sorry, a bit dramatic, but can't make it any more clear.
Good luck with your(mothers) choice.

Too late, already bought and wrapped.
Nevermind, this will be its first smartphone, she'll use it only for email, sms, mms, phone calls and to watch pictures in album.
I've just configured it, and though this is not as smooth and fast as my T, I've not had a too bad impression. The design is beautiful and the screen is decent.
Thanks for your answer.

Haha, oh well. It should do. My moms first phone is a Samsung Xcover. Android 2.2, and it's really slow. . I wish you and your mom all the best in the world, and Merry Christmas!

@MatsPunt
the xperia ins the badest device... cm10 or alien rom +riches kernel (and on cm with pimp my rom mods)= extremly fast device XD
my xj bombs many many dual core devices like huawei ascend y300 XD
Hmm, I suggest my AlienRom with the latest Riches Kernel and if you can supercharge it ( Supercharger V8 )
I have a good impression of codename lightning bolt, so you can try that, together with crossbreeder :good:
here is a list of mods/script that increases performance for you to peruse

Hi,
for some time Xperia J developing got halted with the addition of new sony phones, I tried most of the roms posted here but would like to hear some other users input on pros/cons of some.
Since i have locked bootloader I was limited on stock based ones w/o cpu OC.
Since topics on the subforum are a mess, I hope to hear interesting stuff from you people
Which ones showed potential, which ones worked great for you, which ones had most free ram?
Would like to see if someone has CM on Xperia J that would be fun to hear how Jlo handles the CM
My prefered is Seraphic on looks, but I think Alien had more free ram but was overly unstable.
What says the community?
I don't see any updates for Cusrom, are these XZs outdated? I do not understand
its not specific for XZs,
over all SONY has same treatment from developer side!
reasons?
there are many but one MAJOR reason in my view is
sony xperia is not popular device and low sales, less users, lower the intent to develop anything
if they market well today and boost their customer base! , Xperia Z days will come back!
Miss Old Days :crying:
Miss back on Owned X10 Mini Pro great days, when Kitkat and JB was coming, many Develop is there...
also the when Owned Xperia SP, when Lolipop and Marshmellow was coming, many Dev is there...
I dont understand, since Nougat coming and now Oreo and Pie exist... Sony Dev one by one start going rest and gone...
:crying:
Sony still provides AOSP Pie version for Xperia XZs despite Sony will never giving out any official upgrades for this device.
Right now, I'm currently working with AOSP Pie for XZs and I managed to boot the device with Android Pie version. Building with Linux on Windows 10 could be really pain because Linux on Win10 is not fully virtual environment where some building progress will be stalled at the middle of the progress while I'm thinking to reinstall Ubuntu back on my PC after using Arch Linux for a while.
Anyway, I can't post the Pie ROM here right now because I want to rebuild it to make it better without progress stalling issues.
